Chorrol.com _ Older Games _ Most Annoying Morrowind Creatures

I have to say that Cliff Racers are quite annoying. Ugh..They take ages to come down that's not much as a problem if your good at marksmen and spells(target) but what if your a sword person or something? Very annoying...But that's me. So what about yourself?

Posted by: Chumbaniya Jun 18 2005, 03:51 PM

Cliffracers have to be the most annoying, but the Imperial Guards get on my nerves a fair bit too. Scribs get a little annoying when they do that silly paralyze effect.

Posted by: Khaan Jun 18 2005, 04:02 PM

I HATE CLIFFRACERS. biggrin.gif but yeah scribs can be annoying as well (I got killed by one when lvl 7 because I was paralised the whole time!)

Posted by: Zelda_Zealot Jun 18 2005, 07:30 PM

I have to agree with everyone else, Cliffracers are the most annoying out of everything in the world. Really.

Posted by: darkcootie Jun 18 2005, 09:02 PM

I hate giant rats. Theyre just so annoying but not on the levels that a cliff racer is.

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jun 18 2005, 09:35 PM

Bonewalkers are officially the most annoying creature alive or undead.

They curse you, drain your attributes, and most annoying of all, they pop up when you least expect them.

I personally like cliff racers, unless I have no weapons or spells. tongue.gif I kick cliff racer tail, even at level one, which pure mage characters! biggrin.gif

This is Zarrexaij, the Cliffracer Slayer and Hater of all Bonewalker Kind.

I worship and adore my Thief's Ring of Constant Effect Invisibility (no cheat, mind you - simply a lot of money paid to a certain mage to make one for me tongue.gif). Riecklings though tend to get on my nerves whenever I'm in Solstheim, they go after me in droves the moment I set foot on any patch of snow.

Ah yes..Reicklngs. The are pretty annoying too and even more so when they are riding warthogs. >_<

Posted by: Red Jun 19 2005, 06:52 PM

I had five reicling raiding parties attacking me once. You can't get more annoying than that. I also fought twelve criff racers. I won both times though, thanks to meh hammah!

Posted by: Zelda_Zealot Jun 19 2005, 08:38 PM

In the Firemoth plugin all of those Skeletons and Rats are annoying, I had to kill about 12 rats in one room! I have to now say that under the right circumstances anything can be the most annoying. Who agrees? -1? Fine be that way. tongue.gif

Posted by: Ze Milanio Jun 19 2005, 09:53 PM

A scrib is just a little baby kwama and he is one of the few non-violent creatures, so if you attack him you get what you deserve tongue.gif on the other side of the scale are 2 of the most annoying, most idiotic creatures of Morrowind: Cliff Racer and Slaughterfish... the really annoying thing abouth them, however, isn't even the fact that they attack relentlesly - it is the fact that they would attack you even if you're Lv 100, just so they could annoy you to death :< however, one doesen't have to go to waters very often (unless it's a part of a quest or he/she feels like swimming), and that makes the slaughterfish ecounters less frequent than those with the dreaded racers, which is why I hate those flying craplings more than any other enemy in MW.

Posted by: 9of9 Jun 19 2005, 11:09 PM

Well, in defense of cliffracer (I know, not a good cause) they only really start appearing and getting annoying once you're out in the ashlands somewhere. The Grazelands, Ascadian Isles and Bitter Coast... practically no cliffracers whatsoever. Me, I loathe the ashlands and am, for entirely inexplicable reasons almost phobic of dust storms (probably because I mistook them for Blight storms early on in the game, and confused Blight with Corpus... hence the fear that remains to this day tongue.gif); hence I very very rarely venture out into the dreary lands of ash and have a largely cliffracer-free existance.

I guess your lucky, all I ever see there is Cliffracers, Cliffracers, and more Cliffracers. kvright.gif

Cliffracers are not too annoying (unless they are in a huge group) to me... The cave rats and skeleton warriors, however... :<

If you hate them then you should never play the Firemoth plugin. There is an ungodly amount of cave rats in one room.

Posted by: Hammergand Jun 20 2005, 10:58 PM

Heh, Greater Bonewalkers. The only creature I've ever run away from.

Posted by: RoleplayingRaith8 Jun 30 2005, 08:46 PM

Cliffracers are the most annoying.

Strength draining sons of....

Posted by: Wolfie Jul 1 2005, 02:30 AM

Greater Bonewalkers annoy me far more than Cliffracers because of that damn drain strength

Posted by: Dantrag Jul 1 2005, 05:58 AM

slaughterfish...

I now hate to swim in morrowind. I always use levitate/water walking

Posted by: Kuukulgur Jul 1 2005, 07:15 AM

I'd say Cliff Racers are irritating only because of the stupid squeaking noise they make. However they do not affect your well-being, at least not much (when you're decent level character). This can't be said about Greater Bonewalkers who may pose a threat even to a powerful character who does not have the means of long-ranged combat to take him out quickly. So I vote for Bonies. Oh and I also hate the Scrib's paralyze attack. But then again you don't have to go around attacking poor defensless innocent little creatures, now do you? :evil7:

I forgot slaughterfish too. Luckily I like having the alteration skill (water-walking spell). That said, the crazy guy who got bitten by the slaughterfish is pretty funny.

Cliffracers are annoying but...

Reiklings are so annoying, and they mke this horrible SCREECHING sound. Sometimes it sounds like my eardrums are going to burst.

Lol. I tried going to Solstheim as a level 4 and didn't find the island too hard. The wolves and bears were easy unless they knocked me down.

Yeah but if you follow the storyline then it is pretty hard with a low level character in my experience. Cliff racers are the most annoying to me. I'll be walking along like a quarter mile away from them and then Caaaaaaw! They come down in huge groups and make that annoying noise. I am sooooo glad there are no cliff racers in Oblivion.

Posted by: Soulseeker3.0 Jul 18 2005, 02:08 AM

Aw, stop being a meanie to the cliff-racers! At least they were... entertaining in an irritating kind of way. smile.gif In fact, they are probably what saved this game from being a bit too boring at times. They're always stalking you, wherever you go... ph34r.gif

Arg! Are Scamps (sp?) evil or not? I'm confuzzled, because sometimes they just stand there or walk around as if they were too slow to notice someone right in their faces. And then, just when I thought it was safe to explore, they start attacking me! huh.gif Make up your minds, dumb Scamps!

Most annoying creature... Besides the Undead stuff, I think the most annoying creatures are those dinosaur things. (Not the Alit, but those other ones. I think their name begins with a 'K') So annoying when they get into groups of 2-3. They always seem to gang up on me! mad.gif

Posted by: Soulseeker3.0 Jul 18 2005, 08:58 PM

drat I hate it when people make a good point, because I'm abliged to agree!! arrgggg. yes your right Mergirl

and do you mean Kagouti?

Kagouti perhaps? Yes they are quite annoying but cliff racers still claim the lucky no. 1 in my book.
What's the problem with undead stuff?

Well, the skeleton ones are quite hard to kill (for my healer character anyway), and those other Undead ones (forgot what they were called) drain your strength, which is really annoying. tongue.gif

EDIT: Oh, plus they're scary when they pop out from behind doors. And I hate the Ghost things too! *shivers* Brrr!

Er, I'm now confuzzled. Not sure if I remember a Clannfear... Sounds familiar, but I could be wrong... Is that a common creature or is it located in specific areas? mellow.gif Not sure if I've fought one of those. (With creatures, I usually run away, or attack and then run away or kill it and then dispose of body quickly without looking at it twice).

Those Kagouti are what I'm thinking, I think. Anything with a big mouth and has teeth/saberteeth are considered pretty dinosaur to me.

Clannfear are usually found around Deadric ruins but they can also spawn in the grazelands and within the ghostfence...there are other places but they are most common in those places.(As far as I know.)

This is probably why I never seen them... Never went near those places on purpose before. laugh.gif

I did went near ghostfence, but never really went deep into there... I mean, with a name like 'ghostfence', it's got to have some ghosts, right? mellow.gif

The places I always seemed to (sometimes accidently) explore are tombs and places where skeletons and Dremora seemed to guard stuff... But yet, I avoid the ghostfence and grasslands all the time. Ironic, huh?

Hey, don't look at me like that! I was just curious what Dunmer keep in their tombs in Vivec, is all! tongue.gif

Posted by: Kiln Jul 19 2005, 04:45 PM

You never go to the grazelands? They are the best thing since sliced cheese. biggrin.gif
Seriously that's where I spend all my time so I guess I should know about annoying creatures.

Hate to keep reminding people but cliff racers are still the most annoying. tongue.gif

Posted by: Fuzzy Knight Jul 19 2005, 08:22 PM

I most agree I've always hated, thats maybe a little to hard but. The Bonewalkers were always a bad thing for me, my character always carried around so much stuff that one hit by those and I needed to leave all the objects and teleport around and get healed and return again... But after a while it wasn't that annoying as I started using the sneak attack tactic, just going invisible and taking him down with Trueflame biggrin.gif

Posted by: Nashi_Tai Jul 20 2005, 04:02 PM

Slauterfish are the worst. Hey has anyone besides me and my sis ever tried to swim to the end of the world? If you do they come out in such numbers as to scare a lvl 20 and after the finish with you the druege come out to play.

Bonewalker really suck, too, though. I've never been bother to much, theives must be light, but my sis is always loaded to the gills. Once she even bought a 100 pt constant affect feather amulet just to carry more stuff!! laugh.gif

slaughterfish if you have low athletics, otherwise i think its cliffracers

i don't mind cliff racers that much...them damn fish, thats whats annoying
also anything that makes the battle music play forever.

Posted by: Wurlon Sep 2 2005, 02:59 PM

I think cliffracers, scamps, kwama foragers and warriors and of course slaughterfish were extremely annoying. They were just so often or too small to worry about...

Posted by: King Death Sep 2 2005, 05:09 PM

Bonewalkers, I hate the strength drain. Slaughterfish and Cliff Racers became less annoying when I was a vampire. It's so much fun to out run 'em. biggrin.gif

Posted by: g_squared Sep 9 2005, 07:33 PM

simply put fargoth, i thin k he might a little bit on the fruity side

Posted by: Faldwin Sep 14 2005, 06:10 PM

I think scamps are the most annoying. I'm no mage so I have to use a stupid little fire dagger to kill them. Fortunately I avoid the daedric Ruins as much as possible.

Posted by: raistlin Sep 15 2005, 02:45 AM

Cliff racers!!

Posted by: b_sinkus Oct 8 2005, 03:15 AM

Cliff racers definitely. But when you are in the Imperial Legion guild and not wearing your uniform, almost everyone asking you....."Where's your uniform?"....when you walk by.

Posted by: ShogunSniper Oct 8 2005, 04:32 PM

what p's me off is if even if they kick you out of the legion (for killin a guard or whatever) you still must where your uniform if you want to talk to a guard. or at least that is the glitch i experienced.

pain the boat on bloodmoon. had to walk around with a full suit of ebony except for an imperial steel cuirass

Posted by: Intestinal Chaos Oct 27 2005, 04:10 PM

I'd have to say greater bonewalker should be thrown into the mix. I hated having to go all the way back to town to restore my stats with potions after they have been lowered by them. I had 3 or 4 greater bonewalkers gang up on me and reduce my strength to 3. I survived with what little magic I had and had to dump a whole load of stuff on the ground and had to hike back to town to restore my strength and then head back to the dungeon. I forgot where the dungeon had been (some obscure tomb) and I wandered around for a while befire hitting myself in the head and using the stupid mini map.

Posted by: Freaky Freddy Nov 10 2005, 03:51 PM

Posted by: Toroabok Nov 10 2005, 08:15 PM

CLIFF RACERS CLIFF RACERS CLIFF RACERS......they are always attacking me and it gets really annoying

Posted by: zetherkk Jan 25 2006, 07:15 AM

in town
1. fargoth- killed him and his entire town once i was powerfull enough
2. guards - they always seem to spot me stealing something out of a crate
asking me to surrender and stuff
3. sleepers- always interupting my wandering aimlessly around with their
insane babling

in wilderness
1. fish - you don't hear them sneaking up on you untill they hit you and looking
underwater is a bit harder then out of water.
2. cliffracer - so many of them but at least you can hear them and hit them
from long range, unless you are a sword only user
3. bonewalker- the draining of the atributes is really anoying, especially
if you run out of arrows and don't really use magic

Posted by: Pisces Jan 25 2006, 10:17 AM

Rats, cliffracers are fun to shoot and slaughterfish never bothered me but when I get attacked by a rat I always look around everywhere but the ground because most other enemies are taller or flying.
Bonewalkers second.

Posted by: jchamber Feb 8 2006, 09:19 PM

cliffracers are the most annoying but I have 5 rings of absorb 100 hp area 50 feet, so I can kill everything all at once in about 2 clicks if I am in a hurry, otherwise I just use amulet of shadows the second I get hit, Or whip out the old Daedric Dai-katana of Dagoth Ur, yea soul traped 'em in there....which is a multi hundred elemental damage on strike weapon, I like enchanting, I am going to have fun with it still in oblivion I am sure, expecially since it has been made more sanely limited

btw for bone walkers I have a nice spell so I don't have to go anywhere,
1) buy any restore attribute spell
2) goto a spellmaker and make a restore (all attributes list) 1 spell
3) cast after being drained

It is easy enough that even with I think 10 restoration and 40 willpower you will cast it most or all of the time, and it only costs one mana, so no worries...try it you might like it...

Posted by: Dark_Elf_ Feb 9 2006, 05:01 AM

Bonewalkers are the things I hate most.

Cliff Racers were annoying at first, but I eventually got used to them.

Posted by: sins_to_dark Feb 14 2006, 03:31 PM

Yeah Cliff racers are so annoying, your just walking then bam you get hit, once i turned to see 6/7 of them i was only level 1 and was exploring the land, i didn't survive that encounter mad.gif

cliff racers are soooooo annoying
and ive learned to use water walking spells just to keep away from slauhter fish and those octopus thingys

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Mar 8 2007, 01:44 AM

Did none of you ever encounter the "Scamp"? The weird noises and annoying attacks, .... grrr ... i have to go kill some right now.

Posted by: jack cloudy Mar 8 2007, 07:25 AM

Cliffracers are annoying, yes, and downright lethal for my non-combat roleplaying characters. However, after a few levels they're nothing but practice.

Slaughterfish are more annoying in my opinion, cause they're so hard to see (at least for me.). By that same rule, Kwama Foragers are a lot more annoying than they would seem at first glance. Standard scenario:

,,Lalala, hey, Violet Coprinus. Score! Hmm, nothing on it, too bad...........thunk! Hey, what is it? Standard level, nothing. Must be Cliffracer, check the air, nope. Then check the ground.....Fricking Kwama Forager! Leave me alone!"

Two other creatures I find extremely annoying are the two diseased Kagouti north of Gnisis. I usually come across them at a low level and boy, those things pack a punch.

Posted by: canis216 Mar 15 2007, 12:57 AM

Running into bonewalkers after you've gone to the trouble of resting a lot to gain corprus-strength is really frustrating.

Posted by: Black Hand Mar 15 2007, 11:31 PM

My ALL time hated animal.....the Tusked Bristleback. That one animal ruined my Solstheim experience!!

The godawful squealing!! Even if you have a character strong enough to kill them in one hit....they give a dying shreik just as annoying!!!!

I'll take a pack of cliff racers over the Piggies any day!

Posted by: Rane Mar 15 2007, 11:38 PM

The Bristleback itself wasn't that bad, but the ones with Rieklings on them were utterly annoying. High chance of knocking you down, immunity to Paralysis&Frost and a 60% Reflect natural ability; the recipe to tick you off.

Those are pretty terrible. At +100 difficulty they're very, very tough. Not even a PoisonGrip Arrow will stop them--quite the opposite, actually, with that reflection ability.

Funny you mention the PoisonGrip arrow + Riekling Raider.....thats what stopped me from using enchanted items for quite a while!!

Scamps... are annoying in Oblivion because of their fireballs. In Morrowind it's cliff racers and slaughter fishes. They're easy to kill but very annoying. I don't care about the greater bonewalkers. I kill them in 1-3 strokes anyway.
