This link go to full versions of both games as well as the DOSBox needed to play on modern machines. I haven't used these specific downloads myself so let me know if there are issues with them.

ADDENDUM: If you think the game runs remarkably slow, there is a fix. Hold down CTRL and then press F12 to a point where you think it performs well, three or four times should be enough. If you think it suddenly goes too fast then hold down CTRL and press F11 to slow it down again.

Very cool. I am downloading both now.
Just downloaded Daggerfall.
Had to make sure I didn't forget.
Thanks for the links
Youīre welcome, guys
If anyone finds an issue thatīs not on those pages, either make a post or PM me the details (and of course the solution if you managed to work it out) and Iīll work it into the OP.
Now, if only I can install and try those bad boys myself!
Well I installed Daggerfall, though Norton decided Daggerfall.EXE is a trojan or something.
Game still starts though, so I've no idea what actually happened there.
Well, if it acts up more later let me know. Good though it seems to be working for now
Fired it up again, seems to be working fine. Started as a Dunmer, went through the questionnaire to determine class, and ended up a Sorcerer. Got ganked by an imp.
Just a question, Callidus. What are your specs? As for me I have Windows 7 - 64 bit with a dual-core processor. Is that close to what you have?
Windows 8 (my old laptop kind of died so I'm pretty much stuck with it), Dual core processor, onboard graphics, so Morrowind's about the best that I can do in all likelihood.
Ran into a few slight sound glitches, and the lip syncing for the introduction video was almost comical, but apart from that, the game ran beautifully.
Then again considering it's age it really should.
Ok, but it sounds like I should have no problem then either
I installed Daggerfall on my Windows 7 64-bit box, and it runs fine. However, I cannot attack. You are supposed to hold down the second mouse button and move your mouse to attack. But when I do, nothing happens. I just stand there with my weapon out, doing absolutely nothing.
It may be just a configure problem. Maybe you need to set the second button to something else in Windows in order for it to work in the game? Eh, probably not but itīs a thought
Callidus - Do your attacks work?
Just ran a quick check. They worked, but were a bit cumbersome. It seems it has to be a sharp, fast movement of the mouse to trigger the attack. It also seems to affected by distance to the edge of the screen, or maybe just the distance covered by the movement. Shorter movements didn't seem to work very well.
I just joined club imp-ganked. Oooooiiiiiii that was...not very fun, come to think.
I just downloaded Daggerfall. Attacks worked as long as I held the right mouse button and waved the mouse around. Walking is probably the weirdest thing, using the mouse and stuff. Also, can you not walk backwards? I killed the rat at the beginning, but I couldn't see it while I fought it.
I gave it another go and did get the attacks to work with really quick movements. Sometimes at least. It seems to only happen whenever it feels like working.
I also got killed by the imp. It was not like there was anyway to harm it after all.
I think I must have run into a glitch earlier.
Rolled up a Dunmer character, a custom Sorcerer, who for some reason started out with three iron cuirasses, one of which had a different apearance to the other two, and a pair of ebony daggers, along with some other stuff.
Only three spells though, which reall bugged me.
Then the imp got him.
Ah, so that's why it was different, thanks.
And the problem my I've had with the imp so far is getting to it. I don't think I've actually lived long enough to take a swing at it yet.
Installed and played some Arena today, no problems to report at all Btw, my character is a Nord called Thor of Valhalla.
Yeah, I ride along with the myths
I actually found the way out of the first dungeon in Daggerfall!
Unfortunately it was with a Dunmer Sorcerer(non-custom) named test, but at least I now have a vague idea of where to go.
I think I've worked out what determines the number of starting spells, have to run a test.
First problem; the game froze when I was about to talk to someone. No biggie though, I ctrl-alt-delete my way out and restarted and it all worked on the next attempt.
But by god! Is that a human being or did my graphics card just crash??
@ghastley - I think Iīm just gonna go along with how it is at this point. If I want changes later Iīll figure out how itīs done then, i.e pester you about it
I was surprised that I actually missed the dungeon when I got out into the town. It was really creepy and the music did its job very well.
Is there any way to make it stop flooding the screen with messages like "You See A Rat" every time I am fighting a rat?
My guess is that you are left clicking. Don't left click on it.
OR maybe this is connected to your key rebinding?
So far I gotta say Arenaīs music is great and I have somewhat adapted to the gameplay. I plan to stick to the town and lvl up quite a bit before heading out into dungeons. It was quite a shock for me when I found out that monsters roam the town at night but it provides a great opportunity to get experience whilst being close to safety if things get out of hands
I donīt quite get the armor rating in this game though. When I highlight the armor it reads a negative armor rating instead of plus. Might have to read up on that I guess.
Battered my way through the first dungeon in Daggerfall, slaying rats, bats, imps archers, thieves, and a skeleton warrior. Oh, and two grizzly bears, I've no idea what the hell they were doing in there.
Got out, made my way to the city Daggerfall, and immediately wished I was back in the dungeon. It was snowing, and turning in the snow is a downright nauseating experience. Once I entered the city (my second arrival there, the first got me killed) I immediately got lost among far too many buildings that looked alike. How does anyone find anything in this game?
Use the map. Not the big Province wide one, but the local map. The interesting buildings will be filled in with different colors, depending on what they are. They also have signs outside, while the ordinary buildings are bare.
Slightly different armour rating system in Arena. Apparently a piece with an AR of -6 protects more than another piece with an AR of -3 since the number represents a reduction in damage taken rather than protection given.
Huh
Well, now I have to figure out how to travel to other provinces
Edit: Does anyone know of problems with overwriting the same save slot over and over in Arena? The wiki doesnīt say, but as there are limited slots and you canīt delete saves in-game thatīs what I do.
