The oddest item I've ever found would have to be my http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y106/sjvan0/Daggerfall/fall_040.png, from Daggerfall. So what's the oddest item you've had? It can be from any ES game, not just Daggerfall.

Can't believe no one replied. I've only played morrowind so there isnt much I've seen. I cant think of anything weird right now

Undeniable access... To what?
Posted by: Wolfie Aug 16 2005, 05:46 PM
I found Volendrung, but what i found odd is that it's only worth 600. Isn't it the hammer that led that clan of Dwemer to Hammerfell? Because if it is i'm pretty sure it should be worth a bit more

The money that Fargoth had? Who in the world would be oddenough to give him money?!
Posted by: vaanic~one Aug 16 2005, 06:19 PM
The wierd glove thing in Ald Daedroth.
For about 5 minutes it was the thong of the zainab, because I spent 5 minutes thinking it was the um...other type of thong, you know..not the type that goes around your neck, the down there type.

I too would have to say the loincloth of undeniable access.
Posted by: Intestinal Chaos Aug 16 2005, 10:24 PM
The ring of the Icy finger eye poke. Naturally I made that one myself, one ice damage by touch. Then the ring that looks like a fish when you put it down and it does maximum fatigue damage when you put it on, I too made that one, I called it the "Turkey Fish".
Posted by: Intestinal Chaos Aug 17 2005, 02:10 AM
I think the loin cloth of undeniable access is a randomly generated item.

Rooms. It was enchanted with an "open" spell. I remember someone else found a "Blouse of Opening", which would be a good gift for your girlfriend

That would be awesome..where did you find it??? Ohh a BAN hammer.....

Believe it Minque it naturally exists in the gameworld if you didn't know. Weirdest thing I found was an amulet that looked like a big blue tooth, I can't remember what it was called but it was in the ghostgate treasury.

On a small island west of Sadrith Mora, in a small renegade Ashlander (Not just any renegades, mabrigash!) camp. Three Mabrigash witch woman inhabit the camp, and a dead man (who looks quite poor judging from his clothing..), lies nearby. On his corpse is the Ban Hammer.

ok tanks Aki.....*writes note about location of Ban Hammer* hehe...gotta find that one...

By far the weirdest Item I've ever found is the "Severed Nord Leg".
After you beat the bloodmoon quest, go to the thirsk mead hall, and do the quest for the girl. When you kill the monster on it's corpse is the leg. Does somethin' like 15 dmg, blunt weapon, of couse. Man you look weird holding a leg.

lol.

Hands down, the funniest-sounding item in TES is the "Ring of Northern Knuck-Knuck". Sounds like a Three Stooges magic item
I think it is found in one of the caves west of Pelagiad, which is the small range of hills separating Pelagiad from Seyda Neen. However, it may be random loot, too, because I found another on somewhere else later in the game.
Posted by: Soulseeker3.0 Sep 28 2005, 10:25 PM

Oh yes, I remember that

Personally I loved to strum on my fat lute. I never connected the pun until I read the easter eggs on TIL.

Speaking of, it is common knowledge that there are two Fat Lutes in the game? That is another of my favorite "odd items".

i think the weirdest item was the Fork of Horripulation (or something like that)
a fork with very low dam and drained your own life or something

oh oh oh where is your story, I haven't seen it yet, I suspect it will be good reading.
here's kinda a weird item/quest right at the beggining Nuccius's Cursed Ring, just thought that deserved meantion as a thing that you bought to get rid of a guy that you couldn't barter for and damages you to boost your moving speed (with athletics) for a minute.
Illkurok is a weird weapon that hasn't been meantioned, partly because it's only worth 850 and it is one of the most useful pre-enchanted spears in the game IMHO(In My Humble Opinion) It boosts spear by 10 and gives 15 night eye, both constant effect (I have kinda weak eyes I guess cause I found trouble seeing in the dungeons, and light didn't have big enough area. Also Sword of White Woe was really over priced at 17k, for a DOT drain hp...just my thought...Gavel of the Ordinator, love that name, has same effect with 8 less base dmg and 9 less pounds/kgs and was only worth 375...and it was an ORDINATOR ITEM....oh well
I find it weird that glass armor doesn't crack and shatter on impact in the old times
any weapon that summons a bound weapon of the same type is odd
Daedric crescent, while overpriced a bit, was a weird shape
How about that "Old Man's Lucky Coin" that gave you a new power of "Luck of the Emperor"? Which was +20 luck for 120 seconds.
I can list lots of others just off the top of my head...yea I am a major addict... but the
#1 of all the weirdness was definitely RING OF AZURA.....I mean I kill a bunch of vampires, a god, a semi god, communicate with another false god, get rid of the blight and corpus, remove the stroms over dagoth ur, quest through 4 tribes, 3 houses, cave of incarnate to get moon and star, and get rid of the magical super barrier around dagoth mountain and all I get is..... a night eye vision 20 and fatigue 3 constant effect ring!!!?!?!???!?!????? That is a crap deal man. There are dozens of beeter items than that but that is all the god of dawn and dusk can gather up for her champion...she sux big ones...rant mode...off.. that was healthy...but for some reason my blood pressure is 10 points higher now....hmmm

whats an easter egg???
Posted by: Tellie Mar 19 2006, 01:57 AM
Well.....the wierdest item, just have to be the fork of horripilation...Imean youget a little fork and then you're supposed to kill a giant netch with it....the whole aspect of it is very Sheogorath'ish, and I laughd for quite awhile when I saw what I was going to kill that giant netch with.

The term "easter egg" is used to refer to hidden "treats" left by programmers in their released applications. Here's the definition from the http://www.catb.org/jargon/html/E/Easter-egg.html:
---
Easter egg: n.
[from the custom of the Easter Egg hunt observed in the U.S. and many parts of Europe]
1. A message hidden in the object code of a program as a joke, intended to be found by persons disassembling or browsing the code.
2. A message, graphic, or sound effect emitted by a program (or, on a PC, the BIOS ROM) in response to some undocumented set of commands or keystrokes, intended as a joke or to display program credits. One well-known early Easter egg found in a couple of OSes caused them to respond to the command 'make love' with 'not war?'. Many personal computers have much more elaborate eggs hidden in ROM, including lists of the developers' names, political exhortations, snatches of music, and (in one case) graphics images of the entire development team.
---
In the context of computer games, easter eggs are often things like movie references in the choice of character's names and their situations, strange items that are more for amusement than useful or plausible in the game-world, etc. If you were given a quest to cut down the tallest tree in a forest with a herring (or a slaughterfish, for example), that would be an easter egg.

ummmmm sorry to tell you but there are about 9 or 10 fat lutes in the game... if you know where to find them. ( I personally know where, 1...2...3...4 are)
Posted by: Taillus May 5 2006, 04:28 AM
Are you sure you didn't just see the regular Lute Darkhunter? Sadly I carried one around for a very long time just because I couldn't come to terms with the fact that my character would never be able to play it...Even in knowing for sure that from what I have seen, no mods exist that allow you to play a lute I still could never part with it... It stayed in my inventory for a very long time.
Posted by: DarkHunter May 5 2006, 10:49 AM
No, I have 4 in my house collected from random areas around Morrowind, so there has to be more than that!

Fork of Horripilation
Posted by: Toroabok May 19 2006, 03:51 PM
The oddest item i have would have to be the severed nord leg. its so great! heh heh
its condition sucks tho.
Posted by: Fethenwen May 20 2006, 02:53 PM
Hey, in what quest do you come across this Fork of Horripilation? I haven't seen that one yet.
Posted by: DarkHunter May 20 2006, 03:34 PM
No quest, it's in the most north-western corner on an Island with a insane Argonian...
Posted by: Mazelure May 21 2006, 12:54 AM
I dont know about you guys but the crecent blade or whatever it was called in Morrowind was wierd... it was a long blade but it looked more like a giant C... it was weird man... like realy wierd...

QUOTE(DarkHunter @ May 20 2006, 02:34 PM)

Actually it was tied in with a quest but wasn't the result of a quest, more of a quest item. The deadric quest for Sheogorath rewards you for getting the fork from his Argonian servant in Dagon Fel and using it to kill a giant netch off the coast.
Once you kill the netch you have to take the fork back to Sheogorath's shrine and trade it for the Spear of Bitter Mercy. (So if you choose to do the quest you lose the fork...)
The quest is started in the Underworks of the St. Delyn Canton in Vivec in case you were wondering.
I personally thought the head of scourge and the muffin were both of the oddest items I found because there was no point to them, no quest or anything, just easter eggs.
Edit: Hmmmm...I think there are only 4 fat lutes in the game Darkhunter.
Posted by: DarkHunter May 22 2006, 03:06 AM

lol, I never ate or got rid of anything that was rare. I always liked collecting dagoth brandy and vintage brandy...too bad I found out about the way to get infinate amounts of the vintage brandy or else finding it would still feel like an accomplishment...
Posted by: DarkHunter May 22 2006, 04:13 AM
do you have Blood of Quarra masters? (I got it... worth 5000$)
Posted by: Kiln May 22 2006, 09:53 PM
Yeah I've had everything at one time or another, I played MW for several years before I grew bored of it. It gets old after you've seen it all, done it all, and played all the races.
Posted by: DarkHunter May 23 2006, 04:21 PM
I suppose... but Have you REALLY done everything? I doubt you have found a few things I have... Ex: in Balmora (or something near Balmora like the egg-mine... not sure) theres a lock 95 Deadric Door. Up north theres Sithis (wow thats a god's name...) theres a bandit camp that opens into (after some travel) into a tomb that has a vamp queen in it (she's the strongest I've ever fought) who has the ring of Marana (or something...) that is FAR better than the moon-and-star or the ring that Azura gives you... or the one the Emporer send to you...

The thing is that this game has been around for so long that there are no secrets left, everything is known about it. So it is more than likely that kiln has indeed got and seen everything.
All you have to do is read the various forums, look at the walkthroughs and many sites associated with Morrowind, and you have it all.
Posted by: DarkHunter May 23 2006, 08:23 PM
Doubt it... I found (this is mention in Fav Character in Mw) a island that was uncharted (not marked on map at all) that had a Dwemer tower with the lights all working, a ready bed, a bunch of Dwemer Stuff. But in the upper floor (using ladder) theres a Npc (duh) Imperial that knows EVERYTHING he has every topic in the game (even those random quests where you have to bring people to places) but when you talk to him about culture, he explains the ENTIRE culture, and when you get to the end of the culture topic you become jammed in the conversation.
This had remained unmentioned in ANY forum or walk-through...

That particular deadric door wasn't in Balmora mate...are you talking about the cavern where you find the shield of Eleidon's Ward? Its locked behind a deadric door. Yup saw the bandit cave too, neat book inside as well. I also killed the vamp and took her ring...she was pretty powerful but still easy enough to defeat.
I also read that topic you mentioned, it seems that you used console commands to get there? I usually played it on the Xbox, no console commands. Believe me man, if there's something important I've already seen it. (excluding people with every topic on culture because its not that important to me, it would be a repeat on everything that I'd already heard from every other npc)
Posted by: DarkHunter May 24 2006, 12:38 AM
I play on X-Box.... so console is out... And he IS important, he even has the Waithguard topic, and Wraithguard itself (dunno how... a copy?)

Nord Leg And fork Of Horripalation.
And BTW- you get it from an Argonian, not a Khajiit
Posted by: Legato May 31 2006, 12:09 AM
On the first page King Death mentioned the Severed Nord Leg. I agree, becuase that's how I got my Theory of Proof of Godhood in Morrowind. It goes like this: You are a Morrowind god if you can kill Vivec. Naked. With a severed leg. In one hit.

if selfmade items are included, i made a sword of growing might, that was supposed to fortify my strength everytime i hit someone with it, but as i was afraid it might, it just made my opponent stronger with each blow. which i guess could be useful just to make a simple fight a little more challenging.
Posted by: Ibis Jun 4 2006, 07:47 AM
Oh ok ... if selfmade items are included in this - I made a skooma smoking 3-hosed hookah. Also made a little loveseat sort of nook to sit in and smoke it at, the hookah was gold, enscribed with patterns and came on a giant tray loaded with skooma and moon sugar and finger sandwiches and wine goblets.
There is an incense burner hanging in the alcove above the loveseat.
And just acrost from the loveseat a short distance is a multi-tiered fountain in which are growing the most beautiful delicate flowers of Morrowind (the blue/violet hued ones mostly) and floating in the cool fountain waters are bottles of chilling wine to go with your hookah imbibing.
And HyPNO is just gonna die when he finds out that this is in the foyer outside of the living room & the kitchen of the 2nd cliffracer shooting tower. It's called Dyami Tower. That mod should be coming up right away before anything else after my reformat this weekend. Well, gotta do some sketches for Dark Heart project or Mazelure will probably beat me or strangle me with intestinal parts or something. ahaha
