One of the ones I almost always incounter is the one where every object dissapears! I am just running and jumping through Solstheim and hit a load point... and BOOM! all the trees dissapear!
Once I had a odd version of the above happen to me, I was running to Balmora from Caldera and when I got there... almost all of the doors in the city had dissapeared! Nothing else, just the doors, they came back soon though.
Once I was running and jumping through the Ashlands, when I just fell through the ground, no matter what I did I just fell when I went ad tried to walk on that section of ground, I had to levitate to get out of the "hole" I guess you could call it, and to get over it. It never happened again after I turned off the X-Box...
Just recently I was playing Morrowind and was going to Balmora as a new Character. I decided to walk over that small hill deviding Balmora from the road leading to its "main" gate. Then all of a sudden my PC start walking up a steeper invisible hill, It went higher then the Orc you have to kill as Fighters guild quest (Forgot her name)'s house, in fact I was standing over it when I decided to turn around and try again, then I simply fell, just fell, for no appearent reason I fell. I tried to do this again, but to no avail, I guess the mystery of the invisible hill will never be solved...
Going so fast up the stairs as a werewolf in the fort on Solstheim that I fell through the stairwell and into a grey nothing was a good one.
jumping over a damned fence, getting stuck on top of the fence, and finally getting shot up into the air by the fence and NEVER hit the ground. i changed the channel and watched TV for like an hour and i was still in the air.
Oh and this one kinda scared me. it happened several times, i was waiting for the game to load and instead of like showing a picture it showed a white background and in vey large print HDI. but it looked like the spraypaint from microsoft paint, it was so creepy.
think its a glitch, or some sort of easter egg?
Falling thru Vivec...
Getting my characters head stuck in a ceiling after trying to jump on someone's head...
On my first charcter this wierd thing happend where my character couldn't go down in elevation. If I jumped I would land in air. I could keep juming and gain infanite height, but could never get lower. Then later, every characters map disapered. So finaly I deleted that account, and every one's map came back, it was really wierd.
yes... morrowind was an EXTREMELY buggy game... i have never played any of the previous TES so i dont know about them........ i juts hope Ob willn't be as glitchy as Mw
I was in Caldera I think, and I entered the door to the pawnbroker and BAM I fell through into infinite orange, and then catapulted back up and died at the entrance to the door .. ( I was lvl 8)
http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/9143/wtfwerewoof3pp.jpg is the weirdest glitch i've ever seen. Along with http://img68.imageshack.us/img68/1839/wtfwerewoof21no.jpg (Okay, its the same thing, screw you.
)
I managed to cuase THAT by typing
I've had various occasions in which I've travelled through imperceptible gaps in the walls of interior cells and found myself outside of the game and walking around on an infinite plain that is the colour of whatever fog effect is applied to the area I left from. Because you are not technically on a surface, you can walk around but whenever you jump there is nothing to land on and you will fall forever. It is possible to get back inside the area you left by walking back towards it, so it's not really that game breaking.
I think it's possible to do wherever two sections of an area are not perfectly aligned, so there is a tiny gap between them. One place I remember it happening is a morag tong building in Sadruth Mora, I think.
yeah I've got it, not a bad place, only problem is that it is in germen(sp) or something similar
ah.... I will go digging now thanks
an easter egg is an item, place, name, or situation in the game that is a hint to something outside of the game.
like in solstine(sp) there is a skelly hanging from the celing in a snow cave with his sword right below him. An easter egg to star wars, which ever one was in the snow....
yes, they are extremely common to halo 2.
one glitch that ive found is that i made this one chick and every time id jump, she like levetiate for a few seconds, and then hit the ground. every now and then, shed fall into nothingness!
Here's one everyone might have experienced (or maybe it is just me). Every now and then (very rarely) I will pick up an item. Suddenly a message from one of the devs (most likely a forgotten note to another dev) appears and says
"(name I forgot), it broke, please fix it. -Todd"
Then the game would shut off. I don't recall what all the items I picked up were but I recall once it was an obscure perfectly normal cup that I looted from ontop a box that was under the stairs in Fort Peligiad.
lol that would suck!
ya i tend to jump everywheere i go (my acrobatics is lvl 79 rite now) and sumtimes wen i jump and enter a house, it will hurt me. i dont no y and it only does like 5 damage, but its just weird.
Not exactly a glitch or an easter egg...
I was playing around with the soul-trap exploit the other day and
made a spell of two seconds invisibility on self and two seconds of soul-trap on target.
I saved my game just before casting
(for the same reason I no longer run with scissors)
Sure enough my character stayed invisible.
Nobody could see him, and muck like Chameleon I could steal things from people right in front of them.
I saved again and reloaded.
My character was no longer invisible to me (he looked normal) but
nobody else could see him.
Cliff racers and rats just ignored me.
Even the Dremora Lords that would poof behind me when I'd snatch the odd gem would be content to twiddle their thumbs.
/ bummed that Obivion was pushed back from the launch date.
/ but I'd rather have an awesome Oblivion in 2006 than a buggy one in 2005
/ Posting from the Bay Area of California
i was just running round vivec and suddenly i fall through vivec and all the buildings dissapeared
and jumping through the game, done that heaps as well.....
and when i was dropping all my stuff 2 clear my bounty, when i piked it all up again a daedra appeared in balmora, very random if u ask me =S..
lol on the xbox, everytime i jump to a door and not touch the ground(or anytime i go out of a interior cell) i just die at the front of the door. imean, i have full health and BOOOOOM! I die.
(idunno if this is a glitch) once i tried to cast levitate under water and i totaly got killed
I´ll tell you of a glitch!
In Solstheim.....I go for the Skaal-loyalty quest....I´m in the cave of Hidden Music, trying to "play" the right sequence on the audio-stalagmites..
Suddenly I hear a acream:You will die" and when I turn around..what do I see?
Two fully armored "Hands" of Almalexia.....shouting about her and thrusting at me ferosciously
My house Telvanni character somehow also joined house Hlaalu. It happened in Ebonheart, I think I was talking to Duke Dren. Only thing I remember is that I had killed his brother, and I think he said something to the effect that I'd be hortator for house Hlaalu now. Very strange, there I was, suddendly a member of two great houses!
I never explored it further, because that just didn't work for me.
yeah you can become the boss of Hlaalu useing that glich. just keep pressing the option
Hmm... I don't remember running into a lot of glitches, except thattime when I fell through the docks near Ebonheart (every time in front of a guard) into the water, which annoyed me because I have to find and swim my way back.
Oh, I also remember that several of the NPC's I was escorting got stuck into trees or something, and they just stayed running in place there. Now that was just plain annoying, though I did feel relieved when one of the 'stuck' NPCs was that mean lady that wanted me to escort her to Deathgate(?).
Besides that, I haven't run into a lot of frustrating 'game-hurting' glitches yet (though there were a few times I got stuck). At least, not much from I remember (and you know how bad my memory is.
).
lol yes true
once my minimap went completely black for about a week, then randomly started working again
i was at level 26 when my game started going buggy, i couldn't level up and my spells didn't work, all i could do was go around and kill things with my sword and everytime i killed something the game would tell me i should rest and meditate and when i would it would not level me up. i tried starting the game from an earlier savepoint but the problem persisted. needless to say i had to start the game over from scratch, bummer
[Offtopic]
How about land creatures on the sea? I was on a mission in Raven Rock where you must destroy a mass of spriggans around the colony site. Unfortunately, I couldn't find one of them. It wasn't until my next reload (I should have saved more...) that I saw what had happened - a spriggan was running over the sea, half-submerged since it had no swimming animation.
First time this has every happened (that I noticed). I went to buy an item (without selling anything) and when I bought it I got the amount of money I was supposed to pay given to me instead of taken, as well as the item. I checked and nothing was missing from my inventory either.
Y'all, are propably not going to believe tis but, I killed Vivec once, and when I walk outside, the moon drops, hit the temple and then both dissapear.
Wacko, I was like stirring for fifteen minutes, before I splurted out with laugh
No, minkey, not the moon on the sky ( that would have been weirder though), the ministry of truth howering above the temple, that was supposed to be a moon that a deadra lord threw agains vivec( dont remember which one though
), so Vivec caught hold of it, and as a symbol it's howering above the temple, held up by Lord Vivec's powers.
oh geeeze, I should have taken a screenshot of it, but didn't think of that at that particular moment.
The weirdest thing though was, all the exterior that still stood there.
All the NPC's was walking around, doors stood there, the library was there etc, it's the funniest thing I've ever experienced in a game.
The oddest glitch that ever occured for me is when my character suddenly had no head . . .then again I might've been messing around with the textures, or I might've disabled a mod for the head I had on.
It was just strange.
On the quest to build your Estate in Raven Rock, everytime I have to meet with Aldam Berenduds (the NPC who marks the position for you) he is always standing about 2 meters in the air and won't follow. Talk about being looked down on!
Oh, when I was a werewolf my head dissappeared and for some reason a werewolf's neck looks like a butt (not obviously like it but pretty similiar), I never fixed it and so untill I got cured I was a werebutthead and then I got the ring to transform me into a butthead at will.
For some reason my character was shadowy and see-through (this was on a friend's xbox at the time). He infact, was mostly just a hardly visible outline of a man in armor, but when I was over a surface (like the ground, or having my character in front of a building) he was just completly shadowed and translucent.
It stopped, to my dismay, after I died and had to reload.
I was playing with my summon Dremora spell (dropping him from the sky, mostly) while using a levitation item. Well, the item wore off and I fell into the water below me (I was between the foriegn quarter and some other quarter in Vivec) and nearly died. So I thought "Water fight!", healed, and then summoned and fought the summoned Dremora. I won because of my awesome wepons and his body started to float across the water. I followed said body, and when it hit the wall of the Foriegn quarter, the entire building dissapeared and all of the NPCs on the exterior fell into the water. Quite funny to watch.
I don't remember too many actual glitches, but I do remember a couple unexpected things when I was experimenting with the CS. I had just made a new race and must have checked the box for beast race by accident. Needless to say, the lower portion of my body was way out of whack when I made my character. Also had many times when a texture wasn't found and ended up missing body part sections.
I also found a variable that I tweaked thinking that it would give me a level up after 9 skill advances instead of ten. It worked initially but then I started getting a level sooner and sooner until eventually I levelled everytime I slept... even without a skill advance.
Not sure about PC version, but... on my Xbox version I found a great glitch (or maybe a hidden cheat) if you wanna add a little bit of chaos to your Game.
Make any spell, anyway you want it except set Duration to 2
Then, in the same spell, have the effect "Soultrap, on Target, Duration 2"
then, when cast, as long as the Soultrap hits a wall, ceiling, target, etc. (not sky or horizon) the spell effect will not fade, even though the Spell Effects icon will vanish
Fortify Strength 100 points 2 seconds, as many times as you want, just keeps rising
Demoralise Humanoid 100 points 2 seconds, cast on all Ordinators... They run in terror when you enter Vivec...
The best use for this, I found, was summoning Golden Saints! They stay forever and serve you. And, when they die, corpse stays as if it was never Summoned, so it's a great way of aquiring loot.
Drawback is it casues lag and can sometimes make you power-hungry when you return to a non-"cheat" character. Still definately worth trying.
yeah its wcalled the soultrap cheat
Well this happened to me recently. I wasnt full rank in the Imperial Legion yet, and The Head Knight (Varus?) asked me for the Lords Mail after i brought the topic up, and found the armor thanks to the Argonian Mage in the Six Fishes Tavern.
He then asked me too find the Chrysamere, thought it didnt highlight the topic. Somehow between the main quest, and my natural ability too find artifacts, especially when looking for thier locations online (hehehehe), I finished talking to the Duke, and figured I'd talk to the Head Knight again, this time "Chrysamere" was highlighted as a topic. Clicking that, Chrysamere was removed from my inventory.
After checking my Inventory again, Chrysamere was still there, I immedeatley dropped it, rested, and saved the game. I picked it up again, talked to the Head Knight, clicked Chrysamere again.,and he thanked me for returning it.
Heres another wierd aspect, I have a permanent 60 pound weight reduction in my Inventory, by that I mean, I f I drop everything in it, but keep Chrysamere, Im carrying zero weight. A glitch surely, but one to my advantage that Im keeping....I dont know if the game will crash if I fight the Head Knight, and pick up the second Chysamere, but we'll find out.....Im also wondering how the Lady at the Mournhold museum of artifacts will react when I sell Chrysamere 1 and than she sees Chrysamere 2!!!
Heres a second glitch that anyone can use for mucho dinero: though its kinda long and complicated, and probably only usueful on Xbox.
You will need: As many DIVINE Intervention Scrolls as you can possibly carry think of it like this: One Divine Intervention Scroll will yeild you 4000 Gold. There is NO limit to the amount of money you will be able to get, only the amount of weight you will have too carry in order to get the money. i used 100 DI Scrolls, and got 400,000 gold.
Next: If you are Imperial Cult, and have the First Oracle Quest, Go to Nammu like normal. Or if your are not Imperial Cult, dont worry, you can still go too Nammu, and get some loot. While in Nammu and You see Jon Hawker, the Redguard walking around with no shirt, and the glowing gloves, DO NOT kill him. Talk too him, and when he brings up "Divine Intervention" Keep clicking on the topic, youll notice that he keeps giving you Zenithars Gloves, and yes, each time you click the topic, you lose One Scroll, but gain a pair of gloves, each valued at 2000 Gold. thusly, one scroll equals 4000 gold. Now, DO NOT close the screen, the second you do, thats it. No more gloves. So save right before you talk to him. he will keep giving you gloves as long as you have the scrolls.
Now I know what your thinking, "Black Hand, what merchant has 2000 gold and will buy these wonderful gifts of a God from me at full price?" Im glad you asked. Your last and final destination with probably 200+ pounds of crazy enchanted magic gloves is Ghorak manor in Caldera with your best friend in morrowind (next too the Mudcrab that is) Creeper!
This zany scamp is more than willing too buy these Crazy gloves off of you, the only problem? He only has 5000 gold, so youll have to sell 2 gloves at a time, if you want full price, and you'll have to rest for 24 hours until he has that amount again.
Keep in mind that this is a one time thing, the second you close the window on Jon, hes gone forever.
Again, long, and complicated. But if your in dire need of cash, your friends at the Imperial Cult are more than willing to send you to the folks with glitches that you can exploit to your advantage. (Note, this works with Ama Nin in the BNoots of the Apostle Quest, but the clothes are three pounds each, and theyre only worth 400 gold.)
The last and final glitch that I encountered, was again with the imperial Cult. With our freind Kaye. You know how the Imperial Cult are different in that they give you quests AS SOOn as you talk too them? (No time for chit-chat! Get too It Adept!! Out the door with ya!!) Well with Kaye, I decided to pass on all his quests, except for the Staff of Silver Shaming, which i found at mount Kand. After giving this too him, every time I talked too him, he gave me the quest for the Asse-Ahhe Egg Mine in Khuul, and the 300 gold that goes along with the quest. That means 300 times however many times you talk too him.
Well thats al the glitxhes i have for now....update if anything interesting comes up.
Yeah, one weird but awesome glitch is when you go to kill that crazy dunmer woman in Tribunal (the one with the daedric bow who kills everyone in her house). Anyway, after you kill her, you can take her poison grip arrows (ebony arrows enchanted to paralyze 20 seconds and poison 1 dmg for 100 seconds I think) and then when you click on her body again, there will be another 50 arrows. You can keep doing this until you cannot carry anymore of the arrows (which are awesome).
well having over easily over 3000 hours on morrowind I have experienced all the above glitches except those that are computer specific as I use an xbox, expansion specific, because I don't have any, and that loading screen glitch, and the ministry of truth falling from the sky glitch, but I have a new one to add to the list
I have 100 acrobatics, 100 strength, both without any cheats, training or anything else, I just jump constantly...damn twitchy trigger finger..lol...
neway I decided I wanted to see how far I could jump without levitaion obviously and if I could get from vivec to Dagoth Ur in a single bound. So I start making as many fortify strength potions as I can after taking as many Fortify intelligence potions as I could, which was insane, and so I have all these sweet strength fortifying potions and I had a few quality fortify jump potions I bought as well as scrolls of icarian flight, which I cast all of at once.
The result?
I got really really far...like over an area east of caldera...and got stuck in the sky..above the clouds I couldn't see even clouds beneath me and I had quit moving (could tell on minimap) but I didn't fall either, I was not levitating, and if I looked up I could see all the stars in the whole sky, but they didn't talk to me or gimme quests so it got boring and I restarted, I think this should be fairly easy to replicate as I have done it more than once, just to see if I could. When I walked around I would eventually fall but then die unless I cast slowfalling or levitate, so I just restarted from previous save, try it out sometime, it's sweet.
