Posted by: Megil Tel-Zeke Aug 28 2005, 03:03 AM

K well I'm trying to get back into doing some more artwork, but schedule is busy and what not, with college and all.

SO I'm just gonna share things as they come, starting of is this sketch i drew. not really TES related, but It's sort of using some of my features to draw this elf. i never finished of his hair, but i don't see any reason to really.

Will add more, as I get more lol.

Posted by: ShogunSniper Aug 28 2005, 03:05 AM

eyes are a tad big but otherwise tis very good. the hair also looks nice and the ears are very elfish and cool

*curses himself for never learning how to draw*

Posted by: Megil Tel-Zeke Aug 28 2005, 03:10 AM

lol, yah there's lot's wrong, but it's a sketch and it will remain as is.

here's another one that is pretty old, and interesting entirely CG on PAINT! old school, and tedious therefore dropped after a while. In fact in hindsight, I have no idea why i continued on with the project. LOL

just play as a slideshow it is really cool. at least i think it is tongue.gif

thats what i was thinking.

i hate that show....

Posted by: Megil Tel-Zeke Oct 7 2005, 01:45 AM

sry. I'm jsut a geek, and I like how they sort of accuretly base it on plato's four elements theory, which is the basis for alchemy later inhistory. and i like how it follwos the rules of chemistry at teh same time.... well with the exception of the 4 elemens, since there are 110 or so elements.

And I'm getting better at not using a model for my drawings, like i only used Hughe's face for the drawing, the rest is my own work. and it is freehad i didnt trace the face. I have a barista picture that I am in the preliminary stages of, drawing it without a model.

Posted by: ShogunSniper Oct 7 2005, 01:47 AM

no worries, i too am a geek. used to watch Inuyasha, now i'm tired of the lack of plot advancement... and i LOVE Trigun wub.gif

but anyway it really is a nice drawing. i wonder why i can't draw... maybe it's genetic or something.

Posted by: Megil Tel-Zeke Oct 7 2005, 01:54 AM

lol dunno, I just spend a lot of time on things. Seeing as how i've spent much of my day in bed due to my wisdom teeth, I have had plenty of time to draw it.

I think another reason why I based it on hughes is that that hand motion is precisely what i had in mind for the edwards drawing. sicne i do it all the time( dunno why i just don't like a full hand wave) and it seems to be something hughes does a lot.

But "VASH THE STAMPEDE" poppped up first...

laugh.gif

A bit absurd, since Vash is blond.

Posted by: Megil Tel-Zeke Oct 7 2005, 03:28 PM

by request from channler. Yes it's very rough. I tried to draw it with perspective, and it was my first time drawing a gun. Hopefully it's not to bad.

Not bad at all Megil, nice that you catch the reflecting lighting in the scope on the pistol too... wink.gif

Posted by: ShogunSniper Oct 7 2005, 09:24 PM

oh oh do Mark next biggrin.gif i mean you dont have to or nuthin... biggrin.gif

and the drawing of juac is very nice and i like that emblem that you did for the HDF

as for the gun, you say its your first? because that bullet is insanely huge for a handgun. but i like it that way, gives the picture a more interesting feel and adds to the whole cocky naval pilot stereotype.

and the scope/light thingy lookes really cool also with the whole light glare off of it.

Posted by: Megil Tel-Zeke Oct 7 2005, 09:28 PM

yah I realize the bullet was a bit big, but since the guns are magnetic now I guessed that the bullets could be longer. since they would not longer need to have ammunition packed into the casings.

Hmm i'll see what I can do with Mark. mgiht as well try drawing him. i have nothing else to do lol.

I like it, I love it, I want some more of it smile.gif

Anyway.. Looks good so far... Only one thing, if she is resting her head on her hand you should try to move the hand a little more against the face so the hand palm or what you call it is under the chin - Seems more natural. Or it might just be me smile.gif

Alright well I'm still working on the girl, but ehre is another picture I have started for a friend. She jokingly asked me if i could draw her a butterfly, I said sure. and well just drawing a butterfly was boring, o i have expanded on it to what you see below, Its a prelim shot, and i haven't finished adding the flower or butterfliys. the picture will be title plum blossoms and butterflies, for ovbious reasons

Posted by: Megil Tel-Zeke Oct 29 2005, 07:19 PM

ah yes, those are very evolutionary works. the usually take several weeks or months to come into shape. In essence they start out as doodles when I'm bored, often an interesting line that catches my fancy. i then work of the line adding on to itand sometimes changing it. everytime it drawn it changes. When I get to go home for Thanksgiving I will scan a variation of the one I have posted here. I don't have alot as I bec ome addicted to one and don't stop until I think it's good. and even then I might go back and add something else.

Those are definitely quite interesting pictures. I found it quite intriguing that the paths to wisdom and truth have great similarity to the earlier posted chaos. Is there some profound implication here, or am I reading too much into it?

Well Megil, I have two things to say. First off, I would like to say that all of your lastest6 work is amazing, expecially the flower... brilliant. Secondly, you've only made one page in my absence!? I was looking forward to lots more stuff biggrin.gif j/k your doin great (if that means anything to you) keep up the good work

Great work, Megil! I too love the clothes blowing in the wind & seemingly turning into the leaves. That one makes a very lasting impression.

The fractal is amazing. And the sketch you started for mother's day - that is beautiful. As is the bird-of-paradise flower. I like it all. Does your mother do like mine used to do and have a special place in the house where she displays all your artwork?

Yeah pretty much. Though I have other programs I'be been meaning to try. I've used Corel Painter IX, and I like it just haven't gotten used to it. I'm also have inkscapers to try, and I'ver been meaning to try opencanvas.

Ok...

Since I found a very cool tutorial on deviantArt somewhere, maybe you've seen it. But it mostly for shading, colouring etc. when using Photoshop, you could try it... a lot of good tips that can improve your pictures a lot wink.gif

Posted by: Geonox Jul 25 2006, 05:23 PM

that's realy cool smile.gif! The flowers look realy nice, is it digital or traditional work? I think it's nice that you didn't made the background just one color but also didn't made it to busy/chaotic. Cool biggrin.gif!

Just wonderful Megil! And I agree...tulips are gorgeous!

Posted by: Megil Tel-Zeke Jul 25 2006, 10:56 PM

thanks guys happy.gif.

They are digitally done. Trying to do traditional, but the whole concept of being able to undo has hindered me hehe.

Posted by: Ibis Jul 31 2006, 02:45 AM

Simply beautiful and delicate florals, Megil. Superbly done. goodjob.gif

Have you thought of combining digital and traditional methods? You mentioned "Trying to do traditional, but the whole concept of being able to undo has hindered me hehe."

If you have a scanner, printer, cd writer, etc. you could start your shapes and color them as much as you wanted to digitally and then put a nice toothy artpaper in your printer and print your pic out on the artpaper. Then use conventional methods to further enhance it - watercolor, soft pencil, whatever you prefer, etc. and then scan it back into your computer and continue to finish it off digitally again.

I've been wanting to try this .. but don't have my printer and scanner hooked up yet since my last reformat. Just busy modding in Morrowind lately. I do scan completely traditional watercolors and pastels into my computer and then digitally enhance them further with Photo Finish. But I've wondered how it would be to start the other way first ... digitally. Like if I need perfect circles I can get them in the Paint program. Or perfect straight lines. Instead of drawing it out with a compass or ruler in RL. I'll get around to trying it one of these days. smile.gif

GOD, your so lucky Megil. For mother's day with talent like yours you can just draw her a incredibly beautiful picture while us untalented ppl have to buy her a crappy card and a toaster oven.
