Righto, the next one is here. A minor note from a certain person first:
We had intended the coffee shop to be a nice place where people could talk about their daily activities and such, kinda like the Lurkers Lair on the Official Forums.
It didn't quite turn out that way though, people have been taking advantage of their freedoms in here, there has been a lot of spamming and even some flaming. We will not tolerate that any longer.
So unfortunately we've had to decide to increase the rules for this thread. Of course the normal forum rules still apply, but we'll elaborate here.:
1. No spamming.
We consider double posting and posting posts with only a few words to be spam. If you do that your post will be deleter or moved, do it too often and you might receive a warning for it.
We also consider chit-chat spam. This forum has a special chat channel for chatting, you're welcome to go there, and chat with other members or with the staff as we're always there, doing it in here is not allowed.
The address to that chatroom is:
W4O chat
And for assistence to use a chat like this, I recommend looking over this thread:
http://forums.waiting4oblivion.com/viewtopic.php?t=248
Or contacting one of the Administrators.
2. No discussion of accounts or warnings.
There shall be no more discussion about members, about accounts, about how many warnings you've gotten or anything like that. this includes posts about post count, ranks or any such things.
3. No trolling.
No posting of random nonsense, no posting of irrelevant things, no posting the same thing over and over just to get it noticed, no swearing or flaming.
4. No religion or politics.
No discussion about religion or politics is to be had in these threads. If you want to discuss religion or politics, please do make another thread, or if another such thread already exists, please post in it.
If you have a question about the rules of the forums, feel free to ask it to either a Global Moderator or an Administrator.
If you're unsure if something is fit to post here, it might be. Again best to ask a Global Moderator or Administrator.
If you're wondering how we think a Lair or the Coffee Shop should look like, what we do allow, then I recommend taking a look at the Lurkers Lair at the Official Forums.
On a side note, if you're the one making the new shop, then please include these rules in the first post.
On behalf of the Wating4Oblivion Administrators and Global Moderators,
~ Alexander ~

That said, enjoy your stay here at the Coffee Shop.
Ooh, first reply to me!
Erm...Ah...
I don't actually have anything to say. I must remember to think of things to say BEFORE clicking the big shiny reply button...
EDIT: Hang on! I just read the guidelines and I think that my post was probably against them.
Anyway, I'm going to try and follow this coffee shop thred from the start as all the others confused me when I just entered them and only read the later posts.
ah Rane......I give up, I wonīt even try to do things when you are present....such as locking...or..creating new threads
but nevermind......Letīs have a nice afternoon here anyway :goodjob:
EDIT: Youīre right Chumbaniya....itīs like in a cafe.....some loose quotes just doesnīt make sense....
Hey, check it out, I'm not an apprentice anymore - gone are my 5 little flaming meteors, replaced by the single mighty star. I have joined the ranks of the observers!
~130 posts isn't bad for me, I normally lose interest in any one forum within a week. Well done W4O, you've kept me interested for a loooong time .

Congrats Chumbaniya! 130 good posts.....and Iīm glad you like it here.....
Hmm... I have only... 1500 or something :embarrassed: Just was out doing some work, all the dirty work in the garden of course.. But thats done now, need to wash my bike and oil it up a little bit soon too :goodjob:
I could really go for some nice, cold Ice Tea and a little sandwich now :lickinglips:

mmmmm.

Damn that sounds nice, you're making me hungry!
Nooo. My post counts just dropped throught the floor! :paperbag2:
Think that has happend to me too... think I had around... 1600 - 1700 dont remember :ashamed:
Well well, its not all about post count is it..
I hardly visited the site during the switch, and I think I only saw the new site once, so I hardly lost any posts
I got home from work about an hour and a half ago, now i'm just realxing
Whats going on?.... I'm so confused
Whats going on?.... I'm so confused
I answered you in RP.
Whats going on?.... I'm so confused
There was some technical issues with the new forums. I don't know if you noticed but people kept getting server timeouts and busy server error pages all the time.
Ultimately, the entire site went down (not just the forums).
Now the site is back up but the new forums are not up. The data from them is still saved though, so we'll have to see what we come up with.
Since these old forums are apparently located on another server we could get them back up even when the rest of the site was down.
So now we're back at the moment right before the move. Hence all posts you made at the new forums are not here.
Ahh... Hmm well
I;m really thinking about trying this...
http://gprime.net/video.php/supersoakerflamethrower
Hehe... Just watched the movie Team America World Police, its freaking funny! A little childish, but... a real ROFL! :goodjob:
Dammit, this is probably the most boring day of my life. I'm currently trying to rotate around various forums so that each time I come back to one of them, some new posts have been posted. It's also too hot here (in England - can you believe that?) so I'm too lethargic to do anything. I can't even be bothered to go to sleep or play any PC games.
Right then, time I watched the Godfather. See you all in the morning.
QUICK EDIT: I spelt 'most' as 'mosy'. *gets beaten by the viscious ape of grammar and spelling*
ok...gīnight then all....a new day tomorrow......letīs hope it will be a nice one..... :goodjob:

Ooooh yes.... I know precisely what you mean. I moved here from Sctoland last year and still can't adapt to the summer temperatures - its the humidity that makes it really bad, I'm sure its about 80% here right now, and that's with every single window open in the house. Its like the bloody tropics.
=P aren't you glad you don't live in North Carolina?
Almost everyday hmidty is at 100%... Plus the bugs and what not, cheers for being subtropical
Yeah, the weather would be bearable without the mosquitoes, deerflies, yellowflies, and horseflies.
NC sucks when it comes to bugs.
Yuck.....that sounds awful! In Sweden itīs now sunny, rather warm but not so bad, no insects apart from some wasps and so...quite good actually...
Oooh... Woke up at 7:45, because a wasp had comed into my room... So when I got up it was gone, so I went to sleep again. Then around.. 15 min later I hear the wasp again.. Ignore it, then after half a hour without sleep its gone - Then around.. 9 or something a new wasp comes, and then after a few minutes right before I was about to smack it, it flew out of the window...
Oooh... I who like sleeping with the window open
But anyway... Morning all! :goodjob:
Lucky for me no wasps decided to wake me from my slumber and I got up around 10:00. It's father's day today, which means I really should be doing things for my dad (fat chance! I'll still make him fetch me drinks all day ).
Fatherīs day??? why in sweden that is in november..motherīs day in may though..woow
dadīs shouldnīt get their sons drinks all day...thatīll spoil them..the sons i mean...
I'm not spoilt, I deserve to have things done for me all the time. I really am that good!
I'm not spoilt, I deserve to have things done for me all the time. I really am that good!
Ohhh, then I bow to you! You truly must be divine then
St Chumbaniya... :madman:

Hehehe you actually make me feel better in this insurmountable tropical heat and humidity - the one thing I can't stand are wasps. I have a phobia towards any yellow-and-black striped insects, they send me screaming into the opposite corner of my house I guess I'm lucky then that, oddly, there aren't any around here today
Hehe...
Well went on my friends trampoline with some other friends and filled it with cold water and leaped onto it and started jumping, ohh... it was really chilling at least in this heat :lickinglips:
St Chumbaniya...
More like Chumbaniya the god! Fear me!
I have a phobia towards any yellow-and-black striped insects
Even hoverflies? Come on, hoverflies are cool. They just... hover. And look like wasps.
I don't mind them if they don't sting... but it takes someone specialising in insects with an MA in Biological Sciences to convince me that that is, indeed, a hoverfly and not some strangely shaped species of wasp.
I don't mind them if they don't sting... but it takes someone specialising in insects with an MA in Biological Sciences to convince me that that is, indeed, a hoverfly and not some strangely shaped species of wasp.
Speaking of wasps, have you ever tried to eat one?
 <----
If so, how does it taste?
Does it taste :lickinglips: or :miserable:
I've eaten a bumblebee....never a wasp.
I've eaten a bumblebee....never a wasp.
Right .. . I was sort of joking. But thanks for sharing that.

Well well, it rather goes to skill without any try outs thought. From around December it really starts by sending in video tapes of war, looking into stats etc etc..
dantrag wonders what everyone is talking about...
YES ME TOO. SOMETHING ABOUT MEDAL OF HONOUR.
edit: damn morrowind!
I love MOHAA.. that was prob the best in my opinion.. Storming the Beaches of Normandy.. That sent me into a WW2 craze gathering and compiliing as much information as possible.. In fact right now I'm studying how the hell Hitler captivated the german people
Well, one way he "tricked" them into following him was putting on massive fairs and parades. He seemed like a king when knights walked beside floats. Also, a nice game for all you WWII gamers is Brothers In Arms, probably the all time best game. Ever. Also, it is based on real people and real events. I remember finding two guys blowing up some german buildings with a Bazooka, and then reading the unlockables and finding out from an actual after action report that those two troops had stormed Nazi filled buildings using a rifle and machine gun and then after coming out the cafeteria door (Filled with 15 Nazi's) and shot bazooka shots at buildings. 100% realistic.
I have that game, it was fun but you couldn't shoot anything.. And I've shot a Enfeild (SP) its much more accurate then that garand.. they should be fairly close

I've seen a movie about that... On a school in America, a teacher had read many books and studied Hitler, and made a experiment on the students that they didn't know...
Through disiplin and much more he made them act different and trusted each other and of course the teacher. They found a logo to their 'croup' thingy and started taking it all seriously and bla bla... In the end they were totally under his control.. Little hard to explain, but the movie is very good...
Think its called 'The Wave' or something
Since itīs a warm and sunny day( at least in Sweden).......have some icecream!
*hands out icecream and waffles to all customers in the coffee-shop*

Hmm, I think we have some Snickers Ice in the fridge or something, I'll see... If I can get one :lickinglips:
Ahh yummy! I have a large cone with vanilla icecream and chocolate in the freezer here at work, gonna get it in about 10 minutes! woot
D'oh... didn't have any ice cream, but tomorrow is the last school day! Then we will have lots of chocolate and candy! :lickinglips:
ohh sounds really good, here the kids have had summer-vacation for over a week by now! You are late in Norway!!
Gonna Work this summer Fuzz??
Hmm, well depends if I find any good places to work... Gonna send some mails around at the end of this week I think..
Thought about if there was any jobs I could do in one of the "Fantasy" stores in Oslo, have much cool stuff there, Manga, Warhammer, D&D, Swords, Knives, Magazines and much more... Tons of books, gonna see if there anything that I could do there... Carry stuff...
I'll finish school on friday, but I only have to actually do anything on wednesday morning and friday morning since those are my last 2 exams. Ater that I've got 9 weeks of holiday. Yeeeeeeeeeeee! Heh, and my brother still has 3 more weeks of school after I finish, so I get to hog the computer
Achh you lucky minxes......I have to work almost 4 more weeks until Iīll get holiday......
Achh you lucky minxes......I have to work almost 4 more weeks until Iīll get holiday......
At least u have the forum, and if u work with a computer that haves internet then its fun
yeah....so far but one day my company will forbid us to visit such sites..Iīm sure, but so far I do have it yes!
I'm blocked from all the official sites at work, but can still hit Portal, Source and this site. Oh that the world would embrace the TES world and raise it to its rightful place in society!

Uh . . okay.
Anyway, just a question.
Who's waiting for War of The Worlds.
ME! *raises hand*
I think anything that once made the world go into mass panic is awesome.
(Some people thought the radio show of it was real...lol)
I'm gonna go see it, but i'm undecided as to whether it's a good thing or not that it's set in modern times. The book was set in the 1800's, and all they had to fight the aliens was cannon and muskets and junk
Me either, but I'll go see it and give it a chance before I say too much...
W00t!
My school finally let out today, and my Summer vacation has now started.
ah...

[gloat] I was out may 24th....[/gloat]
glad you're finally out though...
I have a new found respect for Tom Cruise now that hes in WotW.
I'm out of school (for good) in two days. A day of lazing around tomorrow, then my last exam - which is also the longest - on friday. After the exam, though, I'm going for an all-you-can-eat at Pizza Hut, and I fully intend to eat until food is coming out of my ears
Wow, we break up at the end of july. Though we are going to Noramandy for a week on a school trip in a week!

My school never even leaves the state, and you're leaving the freaking country?
Wowzers.
It's only across the channel.
Hmm, my vecation started today too... no school in 2 months.. :lickinglips:
Can someone tell me what England/GreatBritian/Britian is called?
Is it all of thoes things? Or is it just one of them?
England is England.
England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland all constitute the United Kingdom. Great Britain is practically the same thing - the words UK and GB are often used synonymously; in actual fact, I think they differ by a few islands between them... not sure.

Never ever confuse 'England' with 'Britain' - the Scots and the Welsh tend to get a bit upset about these things.
Hope this answers the question somewhat
It's only across the channel.
Oh, well I think he was talking about the USA.
Yeah, I've never gone out of state either.
And defnintely never refer to Ireland as part of the UK. I get very annoyed when people do that, as do most Irish people who live in the Republic
And defnintely never refer to Ireland as part of the UK. I get very annoyed when people do that, as do most Irish people who live in the Republic
Denmark -> Copenhagen
Norway -> Oslo
Finland -> Helsinki
Sweden -> Stockholm
Correct now what's the capital of Macedonia?

I have no idea, so I'll guess Macedon. If in doubt, give the country's name, or a name similar to the country's name I'm trying to think of countries that works for, and the only one I can remember is Brazil (and possibly Luxembourg)

Skopje
Haha... Helsinki is one of the bases near Area 51..
Where is Macedonia anyway? For some reason the name makes me think of Alexander the Great, was he from Macedonia?
Where is Macedonia anyway? For some reason the name makes me think of Alexander the Great, was he from Macedonia?
No he was from Brazil. He conquered all the other South American countries as well.
:lmao:
I believe Macedonia is a country near Crete. My great grandfather had four sons that were all from Crete but had different passports to fish in different countries. It took us decades to figure out where they were all from. First we thought Venice, then Greece, then Macedonia and then we figured out he was from Crete.
I think Macedonia was somewhere around Greece or Yugoslavia...

Ever read of Ashoka?
Someone vaguely related to India. I think.
Actually he's a lot more than just vaguely related to India.
He was an Emperor who did a lot of conquering there, until he switched to Buddhism. Also under his rule, Buddhist teachings spread to many parts of Asia.
The movie on him is very nicely made as well.
Emperor Ashoka
Ashoka (also sometimes transliterated as "Asoka"), the grandson of Chandragupta the founder of the Mauryan dynasty and the son of Bindusara, came to the throne circa 268 B.C. and died approximately 233 B.C. He is chiefly known from his series of rock and pillar inscriptions, which are found scattered in various parts of India and provide important information about his reign and policies. After eight years of rule, he waged a fierce war against the kingdom of Kalinga (Orissa of today) and was so horrified at the carnage he had caused that he gave up violence and turned to Buddhism.
In his efforts to propagate Buddhism, Ashoka built shrines and monasteries and inscribed Buddhist teachings on rocks and pillars in many places. He sent missionaries to countries as remote as Greece and Egypt; his own son, a monk, carried Buddhism to Sri Lanka, where it is still the major religion. Despite Ashoka's vigorous exertions of faith, he was tolerant of other religions. The empire enjoyed remarkable prosperity during his reign.
Some Indian historians think that his policy of peace led to the downfall of the Mauryan empire, which fell apart after his death. He was soon largely forgotten by Indian tradition and only remembered in Buddhist circles as a great patron of the faith. With the deciphering of his inscriptions during the 19th century, he took his rightful place in world history as one of the most benevolent rulers of antiquity.
http://www.kamat.com/kalranga/budhist/2327.jpg
The splendid monolithic stone pillars on which many of his inscriptions are engraved, are among the masterpieces of Indian art, and the capital atop one of them, the Sarnath Pillar, inspired the use of back-to-back lions that is the Indian national emblem (shown in the picture above.) The 24-spoked Ashoka-chakra, which has found its way into the Indian national flag also a fine artifact of Ashoka's period.

Right. As the rules say, no discussion about accounts. Having a high post amount might be a goal for some people but celebrating it in the form of "celebration" posts is not really tolerated here.
Still, I'm ready to give this one another chance. For now.

Wow, it sounds like the whole world is sunny and warm at the moment - it's warm and sunny here in England too. Can you believe it? England, and it's NOT raining!
Even in Estonia the weather is exeptionally good Although I have reason to believe it's not going to stay that way...

Yes!! You see our NPP let out isīs cooling water into the sea..well itīs not contaminated since it is on the clean side of the big heatexchangers..but itīs pretty hot ..so now take 3 reactor-units..and imagine how much hot water flow from those into the sea! Also itīs like a fjord just outside the plants so...yes itīs 28 degrees in the water...lovely I promise

lucky. Here you're lucky if the water you swim in gets to ten degrees (unless you're in a swimming pool of some kind)

Well I might go swimming now accually... At least meet some friends, get a little boring right now... :ashamed:
Speaking of warm.
Anyone else ever been to India?
No, unfortunately not but I īd like to go some day...
It was really warm, our hotel had air conditioning yet it was still over 80 degrees fahrenheit.
Anyway:
There were like fifteen computer cafes on one darn street!
Nearly everyone uses a motorbike. We used a taxi though .
There wasn't a single second when I was outside that I didn't hear someones horn go off.
No one follows the traffic laws, except for the stop lights, probably because there are police men directing the traffic by the street lights.

28 degrees in the water!?
 Proof that even nuclear power plants contribute to global warming.
I'm tired of the stopid people who don't think global warming is real or does any signifigent damadge to the earth. Every ten years, the entire world raises two degrees. The entire Earth! Worst thing is that certain people (cough Bush cough) could just admit that they can do something about it and just spend some of their unlimited amounts of money.
erm...I'm no fan of Bush, but the US definately does not have unlimited money. We are in debt more than 6 trillion dollars.
But I do agree with you on helping the environment a little.
Clean air act actually made the air worse....
Healthy forset Act lets loggers clear-cut forests...
Damned politicians.
*looks out of window and remembers the clear blue skies* im not totally against global warming to be honest. Then in the end england will fezze over and we can have a big snowball fight!
Name your favorite musician/singer/band!
DREAM THEATER AND THE MARS VOLTA!!! (whew been wanting to say that for a long time)
(two separate bands...)
Uh, I've never heard of them. I'm not really interested in anything new, lots of the stuff I like is from the 60's
CCR (First Place)
Fleetwood Mac (Second Place)
Well, I don't really have a third place, because I don't know who sings a lot of the music I listen to.
Uh, I've never heard of them. I'm not really interested in anything new, lots of the stuff I like is from the 60's
Not surprising - all the good bands are unheard of.
I like some old stuff too. Led Zeppelin, Rush, Boston, Pink Floyd, The Beatles...all goodies

I'm not talking about America, I'm talking about the multi-billion doller corperations that wouldn't notice if they lost a million or two. It just seems like some people could make a differance with their money instead of just hoarding it and taking money they don't need from lower class citizens. Seriously, how could it hurt the economy by spending money you took from them to make sure they don't choke to death in a hundred years?
no, the way the huge corporations think is that it may not hurt the economy, but it hurts their wallets by a half a percent.
most people are greedy. It sucks
1. Beetles
2. White stripes, Hives.
3. Various bands that I don't pretend to be the biggest fan of because I only own like, two or three of their albums.

I was so annoyed when I first heard about that on the news. It's bad enough to give a position of power in one of the worlds most powerful countries to a chimp, but when that chimp allows destruction of the environment and has the nerve to call it the "Healthy Forest Act", it's even worse.
Now Bush has destroyed Bill Clinton's hard work by negating his bill and now he's going to chop down god knows how many acres of PROTECTED forestry. Good thing for the clean air act (AKA the destroy every inch of forestry and give it a good name to trick the stupid people).

Maybe such things should be discussed here: http://forums.waiting4oblivion.com/viewtopic.php?t=408 :goodjob:
aye aye cap'n. Nice Avvie too. What's your favourite song by the Foo Fighters?
Hmm... Well, dont really have any favs, but like best Everlong, All My Life, Best of You, Tiny Dancer.. and Have it All.. :goodjob:
Best of You rocks
Best of You rocks
Most agree... its at least one of their best songs so far IMO :lickinglips: They are going to play on the Quart 2005 from 5 - 9th July, with many other bands. But there's two barriers, first one I live in Oslo, and its in Krisitandsand, think its about 4 hours down there... and I doubt I can come in anyway - To young
I listen to too much stuff... all different
Moloko
Mylene Farmer
Nigel Kennedy
Kula Shaker
They're all great, no favourites though
Just watched the start of saving private Ryan today...gruesome.
Just watched the start of saving private Ryan today...gruesome.
Yup, its rather gorey.
I like it.
what happens in the rest of the film? The landing looked practically over.
what happens in the rest of the film? The landing looked practically over.
Theres some mission to save private Ryan or something. Dunno. Been awhile.
The scence that i remeber most vividly is one where the groups sniper takes out a enemy sniper. Shot the enemy sniper through the scope. :goodjob:
I heard about that bit.
OMG watch the movie! I have a L/H relationship with it!
Also check out Saints & Soldiers.. its an IF but awsome, to me just as good as SPR
IF?
What is with all the abbreviations?! :<

Oh my god watch the movie! I have a love/hate relationship with it!

Thank you, you may now abbreviate every second word agen.
I got Three Cheers For Seet Revenge by My Chemical Romance today, It's a brilliant album.
I also got Dynasty Warriors 5, great fun
Ah, Dynasty Warriors. So much mindless hack and slash, but so much fun. It's one of those games that really should be too simplistic to be fun, like Diablo, but just isnt.
It's just fun to wantonly slaughter several hundred enemy troops
indeed, gets boring after a while. the first 6,000 soldiers is fun then it gets repetitive
That's why it's a good thing you get about twenty officers to use. Plus this time apparently each officer has a unique storyline thingy
That's why it's a good thing you get about twenty officers to use. Plus this time apparently each officer has a unique storyline thingy
Erm, storyline? We're talking about Dynasty Warriors here. The furthest a storyline gets is "Mighty warrior kills 10000000000000000 enemies and has great honour".
Ahh.. well I'm listening to teh Red Hawt (Hot) Chili Peppers and workin on the Construction set..
Its simply labeled The Albarnias Family... It will be a masterpeice *Cough*

I'm currently sitting in the dark (since I can't be bothered to get up and put the light on) and listening to... well, nothing more than the hum of my computer, and I'm trying to waste some time while the lazy fools that are supposed to run World of Warcraft can get the test server up, allowing me to play a pre-created max-level character
Great Movie Moments
In Red Dawn when the Russians (I think they were the ones) line up Americans for execution in a big line in front of a ditch and right before they shoot them the Americans start to sing "America the Beautiful" and you can here it breaking up as they fall into the ditch.

That sounds like vomit-worthy patriotic propaganda to me.
Anyway, I'm not sure about great movie moments, but I've been watching the Godfather series recently, and when Vito Corleone gets shots I was just shocked, since I hadn't seen anything like that coming, and I thought it was a really well executed scene.

Actually, it wasn't really propaganda. It was just an entertainment film. The first one to earn the rating PG-13. Also I like the scene in the film "The Village" where that one guy gets stabbed, and I can't even remember his name. It was also very very well done.

I suppose I don't really mean propaganda, as such, it's just that it's really a typical feature of American film-making to show americans in that kind of ridiculously patriotic way (I mean, who would be thinking about their country, nevermind singing a song about it, if you're about to be shot?)
Yeah I know. But the movie looked damn good for the year it came out, 1984.
People got angry that it was as violent as it was.
I am playing tekken 5 right now, I am in love with those games. The stories for the characters are actually really interesting...and the graphics are sweet.

Bloody. I still have to wait for a week before that game comes here.
Oh the joy.
Hopefully it will be better than Tag Tournament though . Oh wait, it can't be worse.
He, I've got 3, 4 and 5. I missed out tag tournament by sheer luck. Who's everyone's favourite character?
Ugh, i can't stand Tekken games
i second the above by lonewolf
I third.

Some of us are very devoted to our country and are having our lives and future entangled in it.
I for one, if ever shot down over enemy teritory (i plan to be a pilot in the USAF) would think of first, My God, 2nd My Family, and 3rd my country. And while thinking about my country I might not bust out in a patriotic melody (because I cant sing worth crap) but I would surely do somehting to publicly state my love for my country.
Just because you wouldnt do it for your country doesn't mean they're aren't others..

I would probably be thinking. "oh god, I have to survive."
While I would be a cool guy if i thought of family and country first, I can honestly say, I probably wouldn't when I was about to die.
I'd probably flip between not wanting to die and thinking "it's about hamster cave time"
I'd probably flip between not wanting to die and thinking "it's about hamster cave time"
Buwhahaha
hmm i'd ahe to agree that i would think about my person before of my relations, divine entity, or ideal of a 'nation'. BUt i don't know how i would look at death, perhaps i'd try to survive, but perhaps i'd decide watever is after might be better. Maybe i'd be reborn in a TES type world . the concept of reincarnation is cool
Is anyone else experiencing problems with the forums?
(OOC: Hmm. . strange, it seems to be working fine right after I posted this message.)
Problems...? Not me, have worked quite fine for me...

Some might be thinking of their country, but I'm pretty sure that would be a minority. It's easy to say you'd think about things in that order when you're in a position to think about it at your leisure, but when a person is about to be killed, it's very hard to predict what they might be thinking. In virtually every case, I would think it would be a mix of fear, thoughts of escape, and thoughts of loved ones, though it's hard to say since a person won't exactly be thinking very rationally when they're about to be killed.
Anyone seen War of the Worlds? Its freaking awsome, I actually liked it better then the book.
Chumbaniya:
Well those soldiers at Iwo Jima must of been acting very irrational then to bring up the stars and stripes over the battlefield while getting shot at... Seems that most of them died to to hoist it up there.
To me that seems kinda patriotic, even in the face of death.
That guys-hoisting-USA-flag-while-getting-shot-at reeks of enscened propaganda
My only few words I have for this subject:
GO AMERICA!!!
If America got attacked you would see me on the news first holding my SKS trying to take out a few of the Martian... people. Im defending my country til the end.
I just find it odd how many people are Anti-patriotic.. It's sad
Nationalism is a touchy point but it almost seems that we need to revert back to that idealogy more.
Simply put, I love my country. You should love yours to.
(Now the idiots of the bureacracy(SP) is something else, and no I'm not anti or for bush.. He's the president by choice of american voters, and there for he was chosen to lead)
BobV: Call it whatever you want but simply put, It happened, and almost all those men died doing it. Those men are hero's to me.
JonaJosa: Well I got a revolver, think that will help?
Well I got a revolver, think that will help?
All I got is a baseball bat . . . *clunk* one down three hundred million to go, man my arms are going to get tired killing all these martians
No wait!! We have to use blood!
*Pulls out a knife and looks at Gamer10*
This might hurt a bit...
and no I'm not anti or for bush.. He's the president by choice of american voters, and there for he was chosen to lead)
?
So you have no opinion because he was chosen by the people and that's all you need to know? you have to have some opinion, unless you are that apathetic. (not trying to be rude/mean/offensive)
My opinion is
MAKE ME KING OF THE WORLD
That's about it
My opinion is, make me emperor of the whole frigging universe.
My opinion is, blow 'em all up and let {deity} sort 'em out
Oh well....no real discussions.

Surely it was irrational to get killed putting up a flag? How is a flag worth someone's life?
Anyway, I'm not anti-patriotic at all (at heart I'm fairly proud to be english) but I would place my own safety and my friends and family above my country any day.
This goes in the Paralament thread. Shoo Shoo. Off with yeh you scurvy dogs!
I just want to tell everyone seeya, for about 10 days or so.. Please don't let the RP get to big so I don't have to read like 45 pages again?
you don't actually have to read it - just find them wherever they are and re-join.
Yea, but reading it is half the fun... when your not swamped
I haven't realy missed much, so I wouldn't know how it is reading 200000 pages at once.
I have a feeling I'm going to have alot of reading to catch up on after this weekend...
