Chorrol.com _ General Discussion _ chorrol.com page and its link?

Posted by: Lefty Scaevola May 10 2022, 08:39 PM

on the chorrol.com page I get
ERROR: Database error: unknown error
Your user account login cookie is faulty. Try and log out and back in again.
and clicking on any of the links there just reload that page

Is everything there, such as downloads, dead?

logging out and back in does not help, and I have all script domains enabled on the page.

Methinks all that stuff hasn't been available for many a year at this point.

mirocu has the right of it.

Some history. This site was formed in 2005 by Alexander and stargelman. Since then they have both pretty much moved on to other things. Stargelman has been kind enough to grant me Admin privileges - but with the caution that the site is old, and serious upgrading is both difficult and not really of interest to him. Rather, our focus is limited to keeping the forum going, and stargelman has remained readily available if we run into serious tech problems with the forum itself.

Regarding the www.chorrol website, the secret is to cursor over the Chorrol.com gray tab and select 'Forums'. Once on the forums, bookmark that page and you're good. Most of the other features were never really fully developed or have been long abandoned. Thanks for bearing with our limitations. smile.gif

Ah ha, so no mods to download then, and all the art, media, tools, etc mentioned there are what is in the forums (The ancient hero of Rome in me dislikes using that word rather than fora)

I think that's correct. About the only regularly active member remaining from the site's founding days is treydog, and I've sent him a PM inviting him to add any first hand insights he may have. smile.gif

All of the above is spot-on. The original Chorrol.com page links are all dead, excepting the Forums button.

That said, once you are on the Forum page, you can find threads for most of those links- such as Fan Art, Fan Fiction, Mod discussions, and etc.

My (possibly faulty) memory is that when they were live, those buttons were shortcuts to archives of certain content. However, I believe most of the content that could once be reached via the buttons is still available in the appropriate sub-forums.
