Age of Empires 3. Heres http://www.3dgamers.com/dlselect/games/ageofempires3/aoe3trial.exe.html

I played one of the skirmish maps and I think it is certainly a lot of fun biggrin.gif

hm, you know what? After playing it a little longer I've come to the following conclusion:
the graphics are great but the actual gameplay doesn't really differ a lot from any other RTS-Game I've played so far. I don't think I'm gonna buy it, instead I'll save my money for TES: Oblivion and get some nifty new CPU and graphic card. well, I'm off to play Earth2160 now again *kicks the AoE3-Demo into the trash bin*... biggrin.gif

You have insulted the great A0E franchise! Kill! Murder! Pillage! Eat! tongue.gif

Anyways, I'll download it later, after I read this juicy bit of information on the Home Cities. Also the main reason it's alot like other games is its one of the original RTS's, and because we don't have all of the features yet. Though you have your right to opinion.

AARRGGG!!!!!! mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif after waiting an hour or two to download it, and then another 10 or so minutes to extract the file, I found out that I couldn't play it on 98! and my dad wont let me do anything on his XP computer! ARG! (I couldn;t find a good "mad" pic sad.gif)

Posted by: Channler Sep 10 2005, 02:14 AM

OMG dude, your not going to be able to play Oblivion either then...

Posted by: Soulseeker3.0 Sep 10 2005, 02:55 AM

No I jus can;t download on my dad's pc, I will probebly be able to play Oblivion, just no downloads. He's afraid of all the spyware and junk, can't say I blame him though.

Posted by: Channler Sep 10 2005, 03:41 AM

Oh, well sneak it...

Posted by: Red Sep 10 2005, 03:55 AM

If he's a father and knows not to do regular downloads due to spyware hes probably good enough with computers to tell when a major demo is downloaded.

Posted by: Dantrag Sep 10 2005, 03:56 AM

not to mention the fact that you just told him to disobey his parents....what kind of example is that?

Posted by: ShogunSniper Sep 10 2005, 04:04 AM

i downloaded it.
i played it.
i love it.
but oblivion comes first.

true I already downloaded one thing and I pressed my luck, but it was a harmless mod, used my own pc as a guini(sp) pig first though...... biggrin.gif

nope never before tongue.gif but back on topic, I hope I can get the real game when it comes out.

Posted by: BobV Sep 10 2005, 09:35 PM

I've figured it out now. Awxome.

Posted by: DoomedOne Sep 10 2005, 10:04 PM

Indian warriors! My favorite unit.

Posted by: Channler Sep 12 2005, 05:32 AM

This is my official opinion..

The game rocks, but it still feels unfinished... something is missing but I can't tell what it is. Maybe that Age of Empire charm... who knows?

I am actually upset that they abondoned the previous campaign system.. I loved that.. I mean a story is ok but it seems a little to far fetched for the AOE series..

Posted by: DoomedOne Sep 12 2005, 05:54 AM

It's just a demo, but I know what you mean, it follows one single family.

Other than that, I think it perfectly fits the aoe experience. Nothing quite more fun than massing troops for a giant bloody battle.

Nice touches: Your guys cheer when they win. Your guys moving in groups so that you can tell who's winning a battle and who's losing, physics apply to buildings that are ebign destroyed.

Things I don't like: Deforestation takes lilke ten seconds, the damned trains are annoying
