Relatives of mine are looking for a new computer. Since they only use the computer for the usual web surfing and e-mailing, they don't need a "gaming" graphics card or anything "high end". The bottleneck is that it needs to be a new computer with XP pre-installed on it (not Vista!).
Before you say "but blockhead, why not just put your XP on their computer over their Vista?", know that I run windows ME[1] & linux.
As for the next thing you ask ... I've got dialup. ![]()
So, to get to my actual question ... does anyone know of any companies that sell XP on new computers? I am pretty sure that Dell does, but I would like to get more options. Thanks in advance. ![]()

[1] I only use windows to run three programs[2]. No need to ever upgrade it again.
[2] one of which is Morrowind! ![]()
Try www.howardcomputes.com.
I used to sell them when I worked at the computer store. I have purchased 3 of their systems myself, and have found them to be trouble-free. They use standard parts (nothing proprietary) and have good service and support. You can fairly easily configure a system with just the things you need.
XP is actually hard to get a hold of now. When vista came out, Microsoft pulled XP from the shelves. (at least at Circuit City)
We get most everything locally from CompUSA and order online from New Egg. But that might be for people who build their own comps. Not sure about ordering a whole computer from them.
