Chorrol.com _ General Discussion _ Elder Scrolls VI or Fallout 4

Posted by: King Of Beasts Mar 12 2015, 02:11 AM

Since I can only post polls in the General discussion thread, this is going here.

Which do you guys want?

Posted by: SubRosa Mar 12 2015, 02:15 AM

Fallout for me. We just had an Elder Scrolls game, so now it is time for something different.

As much as I'd love anew proper elder scrolls game people who are fallout fans deserve a turn

My only interest when it comes to games is medieval fantasy RPGs so that let's Fallout out. That said, however, Skyrim is still a new game (by my standards) and has loads of mileage left in it for me so there's no rush. Since I'm not in a hurry, I don't mind waiting for more sophistication in the genre to come along - hopefully with more interest in sandboxing over questing. When I'm ready for a new game in a few more years, I'll see who can best provide a medieval fantasy open-world sandbox kind of game.

Either would be super duper exciting, I love both franchises.

However I prefer Elder Scrolls purely for the medieval magical fantasy setting.

I also kind of agree with you guys that it's about time for a new Fallout.

...this poll is hard laugh.gif

I have sort of let TES go as far as new games go. Itīs Oblivion for me and I donīt see myself letting it go. Iīm tied down to it wacko.gif

And Iīm actually content with Fallout 3 as well but if it looks interesting enough and is Steam-free, I think I can see myself transitioning to Fallout 4, so thatīs my vote smile.gif

I'd have to say Fallout 4, in the hope that they learned something from Obsidian where story is concerned. Provided they learned nothing from Obsidian about stability and bug testing.

I’m not ready for a new game yet, but it seems that it’s time for a new Fallout.

Yep, Fallout for me too. It will be great to see how Beth can improve over both 3 and NV. Fallout 3 was simple (but tightly focused game) with so many fun moments. Watching the muties lift in the air after a grenade death will never grow old for me. The combat in NV was totally unbalanced, I would walk for hours with nothing happening, and then suddenly have 16 Nightstalkers or 8 Deathclaws on my arse. Crazy, but not fun.

I did love the weapon mods and the crafting in NV. Very good! The story. Not so much. After I got even with Benny, the game fell flat for me.

Elder Scrolls will be awesome, especially to see a new part of the game world. Hopefully they can do Summerset Isles (and actually have a magic system this time).

Fallout for me...I really did enjoy 3 and New Vegas...3 more than NV, granted...But I still really loved it...

I really quite fancy seeing how they would things like The Brotherhood of Steel stuff on the PS4... biggrin.gif ...Heavy armour ahoy!!... biggrin.gif ...

However...More than anything I would like it to have a decent story; tons of decent quests; much gunnage that doesn't require prior intimate knowledge of How To Do Guns In Real Life™...

And...Most importantly...And this goes for either game, as I am looking forward to new ES too...IT'S SINGLE BLOODY PLAYER, TA!!!... dry.gif ...

Posted by: ghastley Mar 13 2015, 02:14 PM

Good point, McB! It would be excellent to have another SINGLE-PLAYER game available. Especially one with a toolkit for us modders. biggrin.gif

Fallout 4 for me too. I heard there weren't going to be any more Elder Scrolls, though don't know if it is true or not. Fallout 4 is supposed to be previewed at E3 this summer; and I can't wait for it!

No more Elder Scrolls? huh.gif Thatīs strange rumours considering the success the series has had.

Posted by: Winter Wolf Mar 14 2015, 12:46 PM

I think the rumor started because of ESO. mALX can correct me if I am wrong. It is a strange rumor to start considering that the games are made by different teams. Todd and Bethesda Game Studios have always been focused on single player and it would be strange to change that design philosophy.

Elder Scrolls. Fallout is alright. I'd choose ES but I wouldn't be mad if we got a new Fallout game. I personally own Fallout Vegas and played the Fallout 3. Great games.

Elder Scrolls.

For some reason, I just could not get into Fallout. But with school keeping me so busy, I don't mind a Fallout coming out so I'm not distracted

I'm plumping for Fallout 4.

Even in the United States, there's got to be plenty of interesting places between Nevada and Washington to inject some more colour into the franchise. What adventures did the Brotherhood of Steel have as they journeyed to the Capital Wasteland?

Also, for a change, one could explore the NCR. It'd be interesting to see a place that isn't all hardscrabble (or what Yahtzee would call "dystopia grey and dog poop brown".) Especially after the events of New Vegas. That's got to unsettle things however it pans out...

Or maybe go north (Occupied Canada) or south (Mexico) of the border...

I would still prefer London over any place in America as a setting for FO4. But the buzz is that it is going to be in Boston.

They've never even touched on what happened anywhere else in the world. It'd be interesting to have a character pop up from overseas and give us an idea of what happened.

Personally I hope the franchise stays in the US.

I have a bad memory with Fallout 3... I went into the first town after escaping the Vault and punched someone on accident. So the guards were chasing me and I ran into the church figuring the guards won't kill me in here it's the church... boy was I wrong. They came in and killed me and I hadn't saved at all and the autosave was where I stepped into the church. I quit Fallout 3 after that and haven't played it since.

So for me I would like Elder Scrolls 6, as long they do it right. Skyrim was a good game was way too streamlined and the quests were no where near as good as Oblivion or Morrowind's quests.

I voted Fallout for the simple reason that maybe the announcement of a new game will motivate me into finally finishing Fallout 3 and actually starting and playing New Vegas. Besides, I need a new rpg with guns right about now!

I forgot about Tenpenny before typing this up. Turns out they pretty much told us that at least most of the world got nuked because Tenpenny was from overseas, AFTER the bombs fell. It was a subtle clue that the entire planet got torched.

I'd like to see another Fallout as I liked the third part, but I'm mainly an TES fanboy so I'm hoping, probably in vain, for a new TES game.
