Chorrol.com _ General Discussion _ The Coffee Shop - Summer remix

Posted by: Rane Jul 1 2005, 08:01 AM

QUOTE(Alexander)
We had intended the coffee shop to be a nice place where people could talk about their daily activities and such, kinda like the Lurkers Lair on the Official Forums.

It didn't quite turn out that way though, people have been taking advantage of their freedoms in here, there has been a lot of spamming and even some flaming. We will not tolerate that any longer.

So unfortunately we've had to decide to increase the rules for this thread. Of course the normal forum rules still apply, but we'll elaborate here.:

1. No spamming.

We consider double posting and posting posts with only a few words to be spam. If you do that your post will be deleter or moved, do it too often and you might receive a warning for it.

We also consider chit-chat spam. This forum has a special chat channel for chatting, you're welcome to go there, and chat with other members or with the staff as we're always there, doing it in here is not allowed.

The address to that chatroom is:
W4O chat

And for assistence to use a chat like this, I recommend looking over this thread:
http://forums.waiting4oblivion.com/viewtopic.php?t=248

Or contacting one of the Administrators.

2. No discussion of accounts or warnings.

There shall be no more discussion about members, about accounts, about how many warnings you've gotten or anything like that. this includes posts about post count, ranks or any such things.

3. No trolling.

No posting of random nonsense, no posting of irrelevant things, no posting the same thing over and over just to get it noticed, no swearing or flaming.

4. No religion or politics.

No discussion about religion or politics is to be had in these threads. If you want to discuss religion or politics, please do make another thread, or if another such thread already exists, please post in it.

If you have a question about the rules of the forums, feel free to ask it to either a Global Moderator or an Administrator.

If you're unsure if something is fit to post here, it might be. Again best to ask a Global Moderator or Administrator.

If you're wondering how we think a Lair or the Coffee Shop should look like, what we do allow, then I recommend taking a look at the Lurkers Lair at the Official Forums.

On a side note, if you're the one making the new shop, then please include these rules in the first post.

On behalf of the Wating4Oblivion Administrators and Global Moderators,

~ Alexander ~

That said, enjoy your stay at the Shop.

Myself, I'm having a blast at work.

Morning all... Nice weather her in Norway 11:00 in the morning, thought its a bit cloudy. Maybe I'll go out swimming as I did yesterday, Minque is not the only one that can find hot water tongue.gif

Thought it wasn't that hot after 3 hours of swimming.. :paperbag:

Posted by: gamer10 Jul 1 2005, 03:30 PM

It's nice here as well, did you know you posted that at 3:49 A.M. for me. Right now it's 9:30 here.

Well, no swimming for me. I'm just going to laze about indoors.

Sound boring... Aint it? kvright.gif

Posted by: Kuukulgur Jul 1 2005, 06:56 PM

Wow, it's almost 9 PM here and still about 20 degrees... If this goes on for say a week I might, and this is a very careful "might", be able to do some swimming... smile.gif

Posted by: Khaan Jul 1 2005, 07:17 PM

I woke up this morning (7:00am), put my hand out the window, touched the roof and burnt my hand it was so hot.

Posted by: Fuzzy Knight Jul 1 2005, 07:19 PM

Hehe... I would take that risk at my house, thought if I fall I can always catch the tree not far away from my window kvright.gif

Hmm, all the good weather reminds me on one of those Weather Prophets that said it would be much rain and cloudly weather her in Norway over the summer, he couldn't be more wrong.. Weird people.. :ashamed:

I dont have the risk as my bedroom looks right out onto the roof. biggrin.gif

They said the same thing here in Estonia... I guess each country has its weirods... biggrin.gif

Posted by: gamer10 Jul 1 2005, 07:58 PM

Yeah . .the U.S. has Bigbird and Elmo. biggrin.gif

Oh, and me.

Now, who want some :cake: with their coffee.

Posted by: Fuzzy Knight Jul 1 2005, 08:41 PM

I would like some cake.. but I dont drink coffee, guess I have nothing to do here? :embarrassed:

Posted by: gamer10 Jul 1 2005, 09:10 PM

Except eat some cake, there's plenty here for all:

:cake: :cake: :cake: :cake: :cake:

Cool, cake cool.gif

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 1 2005, 10:39 PM

I have succesfully ordered something off the net.

Uh, ph34r me?

I'm going through a nightmare getting my boyfriend pressies.

Posted by: gamer10 Jul 1 2005, 11:38 PM

Hey everyone, I just thought I'd share this name generator with you.

I ordered MW: GOTY off the internet. Now i'm irritated because they haven't even sent it. It's not gonna arrive til sometime between the 22nd July and the 9th August even though i ordered it a couple of weeks ago

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 2 2005, 02:34 AM

That sucks.

What type of payment did you use? Money order? Pay pal? Cash? Credit card? Check? :paperbag:

Posted by: Wolfie Jul 2 2005, 02:35 AM

Credit Card. Not mine though, my mams. I convinced her to get it for me, i just have to pay her back when the bill comes

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 2 2005, 02:36 AM

Ooh.

Posted by: Wolfie Jul 2 2005, 02:37 AM

What?

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 2 2005, 02:39 AM

 Your shipping time is kinda unusual. Where is the place that is supposed to ship it?

Posted by: Wolfie Jul 2 2005, 02:39 AM

England. To Ireland. That's what confuses me as to why i's taking so damn long

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 2 2005, 02:40 AM

Oh. That's weird. Though, sometimes the company is an owl and takes a couple business day to ship it out... kvleft.gif

Posted by: Wolfie Jul 2 2005, 02:42 AM

It's from Amazon. Last time i get something from them, i think. And over a month isn't a couple of business days by any stretch of the imagination

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 2 2005, 02:43 AM

Make a complaint, Wolfie. :paperbag2: It shouldn't take a month to ship something not too far away with a credit card. I could almost understand with a check, but a credit card? Bloody Towelie!

Posted by: Wolfie Jul 2 2005, 02:44 AM

I'd make a complaint, but i'm just happy i'm gonna get the game at all. I still have XBox version to tide me over til it comes. I'm just not going to order from Amazon anymore

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 2 2005, 02:46 AM

Goodie. biggrin.gif

If I get the cards I'm planning on for me significant other, if I have enough moolah I'll buy Xbox: GOTYE for the Xbox. The one with Bloodmoon and Tribunal on it.

Posted by: Wolfie Jul 2 2005, 02:47 AM

Yeah that's the one i have. I originally had regular MW, but then i traded it in for GOTY.
And the only reason my mam is even letting me get it is because she forced me to get a summer job so she knows i'm gonna have the cash to pay her back

Posted by: Aki Jul 2 2005, 05:29 AM

As i am bored, i present thee with a random animation i found on ze net...

http://www.rowsby.com/Anim_Meat_R2.html

I think it's cool, i like the sound of the Werewolf, and the way it moves. :goodjob:

Amazon is good... Ordered a D&D book from amazon.co.uk got it in a couple of days :goodjob:

Posted by: gamer10 Jul 2 2005, 02:05 PM

My brother owns several DnD books, I just don't like the game though. kvright.gif

Going to normandy en france for a week in 7 hours!

Posted by: Chumbaniya Jul 2 2005, 04:02 PM
Going to normandy en france for a week in 7 hours!
Sounds good. I went to france with school once, but I have to say it wasn't much good. And they had some really stupid toilets, which has put me off going back to france wink.gif.

I had my school prom last night, and it was unbelievably rubbish. Just a pretty mediocre meal, then a cheesy disco. To think I wasted my money hiring a suit to go to that...

Posted by: gamer10 Jul 2 2005, 06:44 PM

France, never been there.

Been to Italy, and I still hated the toilets. Obviously Mario has been skipping work. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Wolfie Jul 2 2005, 07:41 PM

I've been to France about 12 times on holidays. We always went to camp sites all over the country. Public toilets in France are a nightmare.

Posted by: gamer10 Jul 2 2005, 07:56 PM

It'll be the fourth of july in a few days . . biggrin.gif

"Oh say can you see . . ."

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 2 2005, 08:41 PM

I think I may have asthma.

For almost an hour, my chest has felt extremely tight, and I've been wheezing. I can barely breathe.

Posted by: gamer10 Jul 2 2005, 08:47 PM
I think I may have asthma.

If your serious you should see a doctor . . or check into the emergency room.

Posted by: Wolfie Jul 2 2005, 08:48 PM

Yeah, even if it isn't asthma it sounds like a bad/dangerous state to be in

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 2 2005, 08:51 PM

I doubt my parents are willing to check me in today because of it, and my father is libal to shrug it off as unnessecary worry.

I'll go to the doctor whenever. Whenever I need anything like glasses or medicine, I can hardly count on my parents to get them for me.

For a second, I could breath just fine, but now my chest feels like it has pressure on it.

Posted by: gamer10 Jul 2 2005, 08:53 PM

You should really, really do something about it. Has it happened before.

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 2 2005, 08:53 PM

No. I thought for a while it was related to me drinking milk, but I wouldn't be breathing at all if it was. :paperbag2:

Posted by: gamer10 Jul 2 2005, 08:55 PM

* wheezing
* cough with or without sputum (phlegm) production
* shortness of breath that is aggravated by exercise
* breathing that requires increased work
* intercostal retractions (pulling of the skin between the ribs when breathing)

Those are some of the symptoms of asthma, from

http://health.allrefer.com/health/asthma-symptoms.html

Hope you're okay :cake:

Could be allergies... If u have hard breathing then you should at least drink alot of water smile.gif

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 2 2005, 09:04 PM

I think I'm going to faint.

I feel very, very, very lightheaded, and I'm shaking all over. It's getting hard to type right with my tremoring hands.

Water isn't helping. I would have experienced this before if it was allergies, because I have really bad sinus problems.

My mother had asthma, so chances are I have it too.

I'll probably ask my mother to get me an appointment Monday or Tuesday. I've been short-breathed before, but never to this extent.

I've been coughing as well.

Posted by: gamer10 Jul 2 2005, 09:10 PM

Well if you faint they'll have to take you in . .I mean, would they just leave you there.

Anyway, I think you should rest and try to breath in and out slowly, but make sure you get enough air.

It happens to me if I run at night during Autumn and it's a little chill. Goes away in about an hour though.

Posted by: Fuzzy Knight Jul 2 2005, 09:13 PM

Just call 911... or what ever number u need to call tongue.gif If it really hurts..

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 2 2005, 09:44 PM

For a minute there, I thought my chest was loosening up.

Of course, I jinxed it. tongue.gif

Posted by: Warsgoth Jul 2 2005, 10:07 PM

You should eat some pudding. Pudding can solve any problem, emotional, physical, and metaphysical. I've been eating a lot of pudding lately (see signature). I'll be so fat this next month

Posted by: Wolfie Jul 2 2005, 10:07 PM

Methinks LoneWolf should head south to Cork adn meet me at a pub for a few beers, assuming you are old enough.. wink.gif

Posted by: Wolfie Jul 2 2005, 10:14 PM

16, so not old enough. Coke would be nice though.

Posted by: Fuzzy Knight Jul 2 2005, 10:17 PM

Hehe.. If I want beer or something I just ask my sister, she'll by it for me :evil7:

Posted by: Wolfie Jul 2 2005, 10:18 PM

Althopugh many people mistake me for 18 or 19 for some reason, so.....

Posted by: Warsgoth Jul 2 2005, 10:28 PM

So with a little fine-tuning we could probably hook you up with a beer or two biggrin.gif

Posted by: Fuzzy Knight Jul 2 2005, 10:29 PM

Hehe.. Wish I had claws right now.. Have been out training and swimming alot and ended up with our 8 mosquito bites, scratch like a mad man!

Posted by: Warsgoth Jul 2 2005, 10:31 PM

I dont use my nails for scratching, mostly because they are so long that if I were I'd tear through me sking and hit bone. I use my knuckles, a lot nicer on the skin, it is.

*grabs some coffee*

*grabs cake* I think Fuzzy is a year or so younger than me lol

Posted by: Warsgoth Jul 2 2005, 10:42 PM

Oh my, now I really do feel old (19).

Well, how about you Minque, wherever you amy be. Don't you tell me you're too young now!

And looking back through the Coffeeshop posts, all of us grab some food and drinks, but never eat or drink it...

Posted by: Warsgoth Jul 2 2005, 10:48 PM

This weekend I'll be sleeping, eating pudding, and hopefully playing as an Orc with Destruction and Restoration on Morrowind. Anyone still play Morrwind?

Posted by: Wolfie Jul 2 2005, 10:51 PM

Yeah, I still play it.
And Minque is on holidays or something

Posted by: Fuzzy Knight Jul 2 2005, 10:52 PM

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 2 2005, 10:59 PM

My chest feels a bit... bleh, but I'm not wheezing as badly as I was.

Posted by: treydog Jul 3 2005, 02:12 PM

WooHoo! Cake and refreshments for everyone! I just connected a wireless router to Mrs. Treydog's PC, so now I can access the Forums from my game computer.

Independence Day (sort of). Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend (if it is still the weekend where you are).

Posted by: Fuzzy Knight Jul 3 2005, 02:34 PM

Well... Dont know why I left the PC yesterday, ended up watching the whole Live 8 show, watching Pink Floyd etc.. and then I watched National Treasure until around 6 in the morning, then fell asleep...

Stood up at 1:00 and went straight to the gym, all I need is a shower  My plans for the weekend, hmm.. Think I'll go for some bike rides in the morning, and be alot of friends I guess.. Watch Batman Begins and Fantastic Four looks good :goodjob:

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 3 2005, 09:20 PM

Ugh. I'm having another hard-to-breathness, wheeziness episode.

I can't go to the doctor today, either.

I'll just have to wait for my mum to make an appointment. :paperbag:

Posted by: Kuukulgur Jul 3 2005, 09:42 PM

Wupee, I'm off to bed now, after a successful birthday party. Nighty.

Posted by: gamer10 Jul 4 2005, 03:56 AM

Fireworks are already going off outside . . smile.gif

Posted by: gamer10 Jul 4 2005, 11:36 PM

O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O thus be it ever when free-men shall stand
Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust!”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 5 2005, 01:06 AM

My Fourth of July isn't very happy.

Posted by: gamer10 Jul 5 2005, 01:07 AM

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 5 2005, 01:10 AM

The hospital is STILL closed.

Posted by: Dantrag Jul 5 2005, 05:18 AM

Anyways, my entire neighborhood decided that no fire should be within two-hundred feet of me.

Of course, I ignored them and set off a lot of fireworks. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Zarrexaij Jul 6 2005, 03:09 AM

Haha! biggrin.gif

I did mine Saturday. My parents didn't wanna go out to the park this year.

My appointment is tomorrow. Yay, I guess.

Posted by: vaanic~one Jul 6 2005, 06:15 PM

Heh, My dad was well happy when 4th july came along. Since his Job involves a lot of Americans, None of them turned up to the office that day! No work could be done, so he got the day off. Of course, It was a little Ironic that the Americans were celebrating Independance day inside the actual country they gained independance from.

I hope all you Americans had a wonderful Independance day.

yes I did have a nice vacation, went to a race track, shot off fire works, drank a load of soda, had some fun in D.C. (lots of walking), shot guns, got something one notch above a friend who is a girl (I think so atleast lol), and all sorts of stuff. biggrin.gif

p.s. what happened to the wizards and the other new smilies??? don't tell me I made it all up in a dream or something.

Not only did she forget and only put it on at ten, she din't put it at the right temperature so it's still not cooked and it's twenty five to eleven now!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its like when i try to open one of those damn MREs and I add to much water and it explodes in my lap burning me with hot vegies and meat. :paperbag:

tongue.gif Or like last week when I was talking to someone while putting my food in the heating device and forgetting to take my hand out when I had let go of the food. I guess i was to wrapped up in the conversation. That hurt... :embarrassed:

Posted by: minque Jul 8 2005, 07:48 AM

Aww poor Wolfie and Jona! Not getting dinner when expected is cruel..ask my daughter sheīs ripping down the walls if she doesnīt find sometghing to eat when sheīs home from her diving-training!

And Jona...hmmm simultaneous capacity is a female thing! I mean talking and putting food in a warming device at the same time is reeeeeally difficult for a man! Then those accidents happen!

(btw whatīs a MRE???)

:goodjob:

Posted by: jonajosa Jul 8 2005, 07:54 AM

MRE stands for Meal, Ready-to-Eat and is currently the main individual operational ration for the U.S. military. MREs are meant to be completely self-contained meals that provide all the nutrition a solider-on-the-go needs to sustain him/herself. Typical contents include entree, side dish, crackers, peanut butter/cheese spread, desert, instant coffee/tea, matches, toilet paper, spoon, and a heater to heat the main entree. While everything in an MRE can be eaten cold, it usually tastes better warm.

Amd there freeze dried. So you have to heat them up using some sort of chemical reaction.

Step one) Open all that crap.
2) Pour water form canteen into small plastic bag to start a chemical reaction which generates extream heat to cook your food.
3) place food item(s) in plastic bag and close
4)wait a min or two and open bag
5) take out and eat.

Oh....well thatīs something! You mean you guys live on that? Hmm I understand itīs all nutritional..but ..hmm looks rather boring ...but I donīt know it might be quite delicious!

Except for the scrambled eggs. Doesn't matter how hot you get them or how many spices you add- you would be better off just putting the salt, pepper, and hot sauce directly into the water (and leaving out the powdered eggs.)

Kind of like the old "How to Cook a Carp" Recipe

Step one: Nail carp to board

Steps two through 200: do various arcane seasoning and cooking steps.

Step final: Throw away the carp and eat the board.

I've had a few, and a WWII ration. Mmm, classic WWII bread and jam. Tasty. Though remind you, I'm not in the military. Ever had an astrounaut suppliment bar? Strawberry flavoured... stuff that can last longer than the human race.

I gots to try me that carp recipe...

I can't remember having powdered eggs ever when camping, but most of the time the food turns out great (apart from when I spilt washing up liquid all over it...).

Oh, and one of the hardest things in the world to eat - uncooked prawn crackers. Think of the toughness of uncooked pasta, and then multiply it by about 100. It's taken me over an hour before simply to manage to swallow one, which is just a small disc around an inch in diameter. That being said, they weren't much better when I'd cooked them... blink.gif

Here in the land of the crazy Canucks, there is a slight (not enormous drought) lack of water, so you can only water your lawn once a week. How the cops tell if you're breaking the law is if your lawn is browning, your lawn is ok, if it is green, you get a hefty fine and if it's turned to sand, you're a true patriot of the law tongue.gif

Posted by: Soulseeker3.0 Jul 14 2005, 03:20 PM

were'd you get it?

Posted by: Wolfie Jul 14 2005, 03:22 PM

Bought it a while ago in my local Gamestop. And the two brave Dreadnoughts in the screenie died about 5 minutes after i took it due to being overrun by the Eldar. They killed at least 2 squads though lol biggrin.gif

falling behind what? me?

Posted by: Soulseeker3.0 Jul 14 2005, 06:37 PM

I'm farther behind than you, I haven't heard of it 'til today at 3:18 lol

Wow, that game is old by my standards tongue.gif (only kidding! but it has been out a fair while now wink.gif)

W4k is more fun table-top though - I have to admit I used to actually play it for a short while. There's just something to it, being able to hold the intricately detailed figurines in your hands smile.gif Alas, the thing is bloody expensive. One unit can cost you about as much as the entire pc game.

Being an Eldar devotee, I would just like to mention that I still hate Dreadnoughts with a passion.
