when i was doing a quest in anvil, a person walked up to me and asked me if i could bring the ayleid ruin item that i sold to his masters house. i dont know what thing he's talking about though. is he talking about the the one statue that you find in the first ayelid ruin that you see when you first get out of the sewers. or is he talking about that one crystal thing that is worth like 1000 gold.
Does it matter? Steal both back
wow........ i never though of it that way
he he... nice 1234King
But to answer your question, he is talking about the "ayleid artifact" looks like a weird steel/stone lantern kind of...
Not the Stone that is woth 1000.
The guys master is in the Talos District, and he will pay you WAY more than you can sell them for, and its a neat quest.
After servent talked to you, or maybe after you get the thing back, your quest marker should show you where to go....
Good luck, and have fun... its a BLAST!!

The 1000GP stone is a varla stone.
I can never find varla stones. I just get the mp ones. I only found one varla by stealing from a count.
Yes, what he is requesting are 12 Ayled statues that you can find in other alyed ruins (In Welke for example).
I strongly recomend to do this quest as it brings 4 other more interesting quests with very good items to collect...
How do you find/get this quest? Just hang around Anvil? Couldn't find any info on this on www.uesp.net.
you find an ayleid statue and sell it to any merchant. some time later, a man in green will come up to you and hand you a note. read the note and visit the guy in the imperial city.
and it is a fun quest.
Aha, thanks. I've kept an Ayleid statue for a long time. So I just sell it to any merchant?
well i'd guess you could just sell it to any merchant but im not sure??????
Thanks. Reading softwhispers reply again...
Olav, if you want, you dont HAVE to sell it to ANY merchant... you can just go right to his home in Talos District...
Pretty sure (if I remember right) its Umbaccano Manor, but not positive, so looking for corrections if anyone has it...
Anyway, you can just waltz right in, and mention it to the guard, and he will say "you should talk to my master..." I did this completely by accident. Had it in my inventory and forgot, and was exploring IC when I went into this house...
Fun stuff, great quest... I would save a game right after you turn the first one in... then later on, go back and complete it the other ways... there are a few different ways it works out...
Enjoi!!

It is indeed Umbrecano Manor, and I believe the quests are listed as such at the UESP (haven't checked recently though).
