So I had this dream last night and after it was over, I made myself wake fully up so I could remember it all.
There was this street fair, all my friends were going, it was this big all-day thing. I used to live in Portland Oregon 10 years ago, and so I recognized the area where the street fair was gonna be held as the southeast district: Hawthorne blvd to be more specific. Anyways I'm getting ready, cooking, getting dressed. I don't remember that part very well, but it's of no consequence, anyways.
Later on I was approaching the party, I was still outside. For some reason things get vague, and I wind up travelling through some woods, and there are no woods in that part of Portland. Suddenly, there was a "camera" floating through the air, and I'm watching this camera passively (as if I'm watching TV). The camera pans around this WOLF. Circles around and around, and in the dream I make this comment that this is a cut-scene! Just like in a videogame.
The camera starts to center towards the wolf, and then I get what's about to happen. I am to become the wolf. As the camera hovers behind the wolf, all a sudden I can start to walk ... on 4 legs. I wind up walking back to the area where the party is, and where all my friends are, etc. They recognize me because there is this weird telepathic thing that goes on. I am able to communicate to them that I am this wolf. I have no idea how it happened or how long it will last, but they accept this oddity anyways.
Towards the end of the dream, everybody is swarming around this food provided by the establishment. Music is playing, etc. There was a band playing Joe Walsh's Rocky Mountain Way (and badly, at that!). I wanna say we were all in the http://www.ask.com/wiki/Bagdad_Theatre?qsrc=3044. As my friends eat the food provided by the Bagdhad, I start to eat my own food. And I felt weird doing so.
Some dreams have meaning, and some do not, not that I can decipher, anyways. In this case, I think I know what this dream means. I've become a wolf, I've got my own food, I'm doing things my own way. Yet I am still accepted by my friends.
Bla bla bla, what about you? I would have put this in the Skyrim forums, by the way, but I realized any videogame can inspire a dream.
I once had a dream that an oblivion gate opened up in my backyard. I ran Into it screaming "FOR THE EMPIRE!" before a guard stopped me and tried to arrest me. I resisted arrest and he kept yelling "STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!" then Mehrunes Dagon randomly appeared and picked up the guard and ate him
Very cool, and moving, dream Renee. It is liberating to get to that point where you can just stop pretending, and be yourself.
And a very funny dream KoB! I think Wes Johnson's "Stop Right There Criminal Scum!" is indelibly ingrained upon everyone who has ever played Oblivion.
One video game dream that comes to my mind was inspired by Rome Total War, which I used to play a lot of years ago, and even made a major conversion mod for. I was in the game, and leading a Brutti (Roman) army against Godzilla. Needless to say I did not win that battle! Godzilla would either use his nuclear breath to incinerate my principes, or use his tail to send my velites and hastati flying like bowling pins.
Believe it or not I took part on the siege of Whiterun in a dream. What was weird though is that I saw myself in THIRD PERSON. With Oblivion graphics. Idk why, but I just KNEW that it was me. It was really weird.
I've been playing minecraft as well as oblivion and skyrim. I played minecraft before bed last night though, and the last thing that happened to me was a creeper blew up my house. Well, I had a dream that I was in minecraft, and I was being chased by a creeper, except for done reason it was flying. I went and hid in my house, and the creeper had the most epic crash landing through the window in the living room, and broke the TV. I got into an argument with the creeper, and I got so mad that I hit the creeper. The creeper insulted me with a very naughty word, and blew up my living room. That's when I woke up screaming and thought I heard something in the living room going SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSST!
I have a lot of zombie dreams, which means I'm bored with the mundane and want a change of pace. Once I started writing my fanfic and really getting back into writing, I had an outlet and now they have stopped.
Which is wonderful.
Because zombies terrify me.
And they would ALWAYS go after my son in the dreams.
That is, as my 2 year old would say, "a BIG no-no!"
Hahaha! An arguement with a creeper! That is SOO rich!
Yah, more dreams! The Whiterun siege one would be pretty cool to have, I dunno about being chased by a Creeper! Minecraft is an interesting looking game; I've watched a few YouTube LPs about it, just out of curiosity. Seems pretty neat, the way it's so customizable, and its graphics are blatantly lo-rent, which I think is awesome in this day and age.
Yuch Miss Hollow! I am glad Idon't have zombie dreams! Yikes!!
I gave my nephew (16 yrs. old now) Oblivion 4 years ago, and though my sister doesn't game, she sometimes watches him play. He applies his Halo gamer-knowledge to TES, which means he runs around constantly. He's always running man. He's the one that also tea-bags his dead enemies.
On the other hand, he is able to play a female character. Which (to me) shows he is open-minded. And he also has some odd moments of true RP, and this is without me teaching him "how it's done". I grew up with a gang of tabletop buddies, you see. Dice, paper, sheets, figureines, books, math. etc. He's had none of this, so the fact that he RPs at all is kinda cool.
I work with a lady who also games with her bf. She likes zombie games, actually. She's into blowing zombies apart. lol.
I will get this thread back on topic at some point. I did have another ES-influenced dream last night, I wanna try and remember it a bit more, though.
I had a dream that I used unrelenting force to send The Adoring Fan flying off of a cliff.
I think the last time I had a videogame-related dream was....a long while ago. I was playing Dishonored. I kept trying to use the Thu'um.
Last night I had a dream that Vivec and Sotha Sil killed me and gave my body to Dagoth-Ur to experiment on
I had a sorta cool dream last night, but ya know how some dreams aren't so cool when you're actually in them? It had nothing to do with videogames, but I'll add it here
It was like the beginning of Walking Dead. I live in Maryland, and the "outbreak" had already happened far to the south. In the dream, we all sorta already knew about the outbreak, and that there might be some zombies eventually making their way hundreds of miles northwards.
That isn't the weird part. The weird part is all the locks on every door in the world had suddenly dissolved. There were no more door locks. In the dream nobody knew what to do about this...we were all just kinda waiting around. Not just for zombies, but for looters as well. We'd stay up all night looking out the windows, trying to anticipate when an enemy might show up.
Nothing happened really, but it was a frightning dream all the same.
According to my dream book, you anticipate a change of pace but feel unsure about your ability to handle it.
ha! That must be truth, then, that is exactly how I feel about my life, my job especially. Thanks Liz. Can I call you Liz? I have a real-life friend named Liz. You'll be 'online Liz' if you don't mind.
Sure thing :]
I had the same nightmare about sotha sil and Vivec I had the other night last night.
It's a sign
If you didn't see the post here:
That is weird, King. Some people have lots of recurring dreams, I personally have had only a handful in my life. I wish I could have some good dreams recur, but of course it's usually the nightmares-only which come back.
That's interesting, Colonel...
I didn't know about the gamer's advantage in dreaming. But the hotkey thing is hilarious! I'm not much for lucid dreaming, but I'll have to try this one time, lol
That's awesome, Mustard. If that ever happens to me, I will try to go in-game to figure out how to solve my issue.
I went thru a period in my late 20s to late 30s where I'd have lots of lucid dreams. I could spend all day writing them up here. I enjoyed them a lot...walking thru walls on purpose, breaking things (in real-life I am always so careful, it's cool to realize that in a dream I could just break or smash something), flying, etc.
This is nothing to do with video games, but it could do with repeating...
...I once had a dream where I was in a massive forest, and ultimately I came upon a wooden shack. In the shack were huge drosophila - (fruit flies) - at the back of the shack was a room where there were 2 people, composed entirely of chocolate, one of whom was shaving the surface off of the other with a cheese-grater.
Then I woke up.
I’ve had a few episodes of sleep paralysis, but never lucid dreaming. The closest I came was once I in a nightmare I thought, Oh, this is a dream. You could just wake up. And I immediately did.
The other night I dreamt I was out in an area that looks like west of the IC creating a spell. I was using my alchemy apparatus to do it, and there was no character in the dream, only me. It was a frost spell with a 5 foot area of effect and 3 second duration. I couldn’t decide between 7 and 10 points of damage. I was pretty sick that night, sleeping in a chair while playing Oblivion. I would pause the game to sleep for a few minutes until coughing woke me up again. Otherwise I doubt I would have remembered the details.
I had a dream that i was draginborn and i fought Alduin World-Eater
It was epic.
I went to Sovngarde, and helped the three heroes defeat Alduin. Tsun sounded epic in my dream!
Sadly I have ever only had dreams that were based on horror games such as Doom. Would love me some Oblivion dreams wandering the Great Forest instead. Sigh...
I had a nightmare about my own fanfic last night O.o
AWESOME.
This'll be great!!
Damnit, I want those dreams too!
Just because we talked about this, I´ve had two Oblivion dreams now!!
First one was at work. I had finished eating and sat back against the wall like I always do to relax. I dozed off like I always do and images of Oblivion emerged in my mind!
Second time was in bed. It was basically the same thing both times, I didn´t dream about anything specific, but I had the game "up front" so to speak!
Yay!
I've got an interesting one. Roughly a week before Skyrim dropped a dream struck me. It placed me at a table in the wet dimly lit hull of the Bloated Float. Now, while finding one's self within the dining hall of the Waterfront's infamous seaworthy inn is indeed an odd experience, it paled in comparison to seeing my fellow patrons gathered 'round the table.
I was sitting with two living legends. I should know I played them! Now at this point I should clarify it was me, normal human Arcry, sitting there with Nerevarine Teran Ralis, my Dunmer rouge from Morrowind , and Silver-Tongue, Argonian Listener and Champion of Cyrodiil. And what, might you, ask were we doing in this leaky tub? Playing cards and drinking of all things! I also distinctly remember half the point of the game was to cheat.. The other was not to get caught.
I wish my dreams weren't so violent but.....
I had a dream Mehrunes Dagon smashed my house then stepped on me
A pack of Skyrim foxes (the orange ones) showed up in one of my dreams last night, but the rest of the dream was unrelated to TES, and I don't really remember much of it anyways.
Last night I had a dream about Renee having a dream about a game. It was not an ES game though. Instead it was called AC4, which was short for Antique Cars 4: Italians and Klingons. It was a race/battle between Klingons riding in old cars like Duesenbergs, and the original Star Trek crew in smaller, cut down versions of the same. The Trek crew was in these little two-wheelers that looked like they were cut off from a larger car, almost like a chariot without the horses.
I forgot to mention that the Trek crew were all dressed as mobsters, from the Piece of the Action episode.
So last night I had this dream I was in some thick forest, on a large mountain, perhaps. Probably Appalachian. I'm running from something or some people, can't remember why or what happened.
I get to the top of this mountain. The Appalachians are old mountains (unlike the typical mountain that looks rocky), millions of years older than the Rockies here in America. They are low and are covered by forests. So at the top of this mountain, it's still dark and green, rather than open-air. I decided to stop running and crouched down (guess you know where this is heading!)
I started looking around, and I recognized that I was surrounded by cairns. CROCK!!! BASH! Uh oh. Yeah, I was surrounded by draugr!!! Dozens of them. They crawled out of their coffins and tombs, and I was surrounded. I immediately got pwned in the dream, and don't even remember if I woke up or not. Good thing it was just a dream.
The end.
Stupid dreams. Glad I don´t have ones like you, Renee
Well, I don´t have any more TES dreams at all now. Two was enough I suppose. I would like a peaceful Great Forest walk though...
HAD ANOTHER TES DREAM!!
Sort of anyway. It was more like a hybrid of Oblivion and Fallout 3 The dream was located in the Jeralls/Bruma, I remember seeing a town gate up north and it was snowing. And there were wrecked cars all around on top of each other. The craziest thing was I actually thought to myself in the dream "Ok, so this is the vanilla stuff. Been a long time since I saw that"
Last night I had a minecraft dream. I was at a tea party with a creeper
As evil and annoying as creepers are, they're my favorite minecraft monster, lol
So I had a great one last night!
I don't remember the entire dream which is a shame; I only remember the end. Dreams happen like this sometimes...the end is so cool, and it makes me REALLY want to know how I got to this end. I tried to lie in bed and attempted some little suggestions to help me remember. Sometimes this works, but I couldnt get this to happen last night..
anyways.... I somehow wound up (apparently) in a new profession, as an Imperial Guard. I had a superior ...a watch captain. At the beginning of the part that I remember, this watch captain was telling me I would need to wear my armor at all times, and carry some sort of weapon. In the dream I was not happy about this! The armor apparently would be the Imperial light leather armor they wear in Skyrim, not the heavy trash can suits of Oblivion.
I forget what happened next; it was me moseying around some sort of establishment; I'm not sure. The dream was set in modern times, though, so there were trucks and stuff and water fountains and stuff like that. At some point I was in some sort of room that looked like a locker room. I 'knew' my appointed armor was stashed in one of these lockers. Now here comes the good part.
My watch captain comes up to me and says "You need to be wearing your armor at all times! Don't make me tell you again!" But he said this in Wes Johnson's voice! I think that's the guy who voices all the Imperial guards in Oblivion, right? It was his voice! ... He hands me a 'schedule' then, which showed me which days I would have "off", and which ones I'd be 'working'. During my working days, I would have to be dressed in armor, and carrying a weapon!. No excuses.
The thing is, I was bummed about this in the dream but if I think I would be psyched to have this happen in real-life! Imagine me, showing up to one of my kid's soccer games or a PTA meeting, wearing Imperial leather armor! I like that armor actually, I think it's kinda sexy on females!
WHY DON´T I HAVE THOSE DREAMS!?!?
That is Wes Johnson who does the Imperial Legion voices in Oblivion! "Stop right there criminal scum!"
What a fun dream! I like the brown trashcan suits in Oblivion better than the ones in Skyirm though. They are more original.
So... I'm not sure what is up with this dream...
My mom called me (in the dream) and said instead of Mexico, we were going to Africa. (Thanks, KOB LOL)
I was like "Cool!" So I pack, and leave on a plane with my middle brother. I get a call from my mom once we touch down saying "Where are you? Where's Bubba(my brother)?!"
I say "We're in Africa, why?"
She says "YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO LEAVE UNTIL NEXT WEEK!"
So we're freaking out, but we decide to go on a tour of the haunted buildings in the city. We go in one and I step in first and....dark. I grab my flashlight and if anyone has seen the gameplay for Condemned: Criminal Origins, you'll know what I'm talking about. Trash everywhere, lights working off and on, and random crazies popping out at you.
I load up on energy and health potions, keeping them in my hoodie pockets, when all of a sudden I break a door open and see my son in a well-lit room playing with his lil plastic letters and numbers he has. I see a zombie crawling out of a hole in the wall at him and my first reaction is to grab a handful of letters and toss them at the zombie...
it worked...
Knowledge is power XD
The zombie died, and I scooped a ton of the letters and numbers into my pockets and sat my son on my hip, and we navigated the rest of the way through the building like that, with him on my hip and me tossing letters and numbers at the zombies. I never made it out of the building because my husband came into the room and woke me up.
knowledge IS POWER!
Wow wow WOW that's cool, Liz! And then there's the significance of the letters being thrown at zombies, and this working as a tactic. I haven't the foggiest what that could mean, though. I'll have to dwell on that for awhile...
Could mean you have the ability to change an old way of thinking or approaching something (the zombies), by just applying a bit of logic (the letters)? ..Something along those lines. It's hard to say, since it's your dream and not mine. What do you think?
I had an interesting dream last night, one part was definitely videogame-inspired. I had left my family for some reason, and so the part I first remember was me being disappointed about something that had to do with my family.
I drove down towards Washington D.C., but stopped somewhere north of there (heck, I could have been in Bethesda!) and got out of my car. I rented a room, but immediately started walking away from the hotel. Eventually I got on some sort of invisible train with a bunch of others. The train seemed to be made of glass; even if I looked down towards my feet, I could see the tracks whizzing below at high speed! They were neon-colored tracks, too.
The train (or actually it was probably more of a subway) stopped in its station, and I get out. I went walking through some city-like streets. At one point, I was in a store, and I noticed a gang of youths were kinda moseying towards me. I was attacked by a group of teens in real-life just a few years ago, so anytime I see a pack of kids (especially thuggish-looking kids) I tend to put my guard up.
This is where it gets videogamish. These teens do start to run towards me. Using my quick-action videogame strategy (lol) and reflexes, I manage to run towards a staircase but then faked the kids out, by hiding behind some sort of wall. The teens split up, half of them went down the staircase, the other half went in another direction. I RUN out the front door of the mall, and kept running and running! I was running up a hill. I did not turn to look but I could swear some of the teen thugs had figured out what I did, and were now after me!
In the dream, I think I don't have very much stamina (as a smoker), so they'll eventually catch up to me. But I woke up then, anyways.
Phew!
The pen plastic letter is mightier than the sword zombie.
Whatta crazy dream, Liz! Somehow I never really fight in my dreams. Bad things may be there but tend to stay away...
It´s like they´re scary when I don´t see them but if they come out they have no power... or whatever.
I fell asleep playing COD.
I had a dream about call of duty.
I was playing Black Ops II: Zombies in the die rise map, and I got sucked into the game
It was terrifying! A while swarm of zombies was sprinting towards me, all making thier horrible shrieking noise
-shudders-
The only weapon I had was a set of ballistic knives. I got lucky and got a bomb when I sliced a zombies head off, and all the zombies blew up, but just before I woke up, I could hear all the zombies coming back
I hate having nightmares
I've been kinda sick these past few days, and missed some work. I am just remembering a dream I had during bouts of medicine and getting better.
In the dream my brother had a laptop he wasn't using, so I started messing around with it. I was like YES I have to figure this out, I want to finally get some mods into my game! .. it was not to be, though. I kept getting interrupted by people and situations in the dream, every time I'd sit down with the lap top something else would distract me.
Wish I could remember the rest of whatever happened. Is it even possible to buy a lap top that'll run mods on Oblivion and/or Skyrim? Dumb question, I guess, but I'm in the habit of thinking that only a full desktop computer will do so.
You can get a laptop that will run either game with mods. It will just cost you a lot more than buying the equivalent in a desktop.
I am finally going to get Fallout 3, since I recently learned it's set in Washington D.C., and I also need something new for awhile as summer starts to wind down. I had a series of dreams last night now that I've made this decision, each and every one of them about Fallout. Most of these dreams were pretty mundane, with me kinda exploring a peacful area. There was one in which I was with a young female (kinda like the girl in the original Resident Evil video game) and she was running up to some sort of fortress. She was trying to get inside, but had to keep hiding from some sort of enemy. I don't remember the rest, but I keep having dreams of Fallout, so this is interesting.
I also had a dream a couple months ago; one of those dreams I'll probably never forget. I was on The Mall in Washington D.C., where the museums are and the Capitol, etc. It was night-time and in the future. The entire world was under some sort of attack. The sky was dark becuase it was night, but it was also filled with smoke. A large group of us were trying to find some place to gather so we could have shelter, but everything was chaotic, and we weren't having much success.
At one point, a large explosion happened BOOM! and the Washington Monument fell all across the Mall. It fell less than a quarter mile from us, and it was LOUD. This is when I woke up. Now that I think of it, this seems like it could have been a future foretelling of my involvement with FO3.
Sounds to me like those dreams would push you further away from the Fallout series, rather than drag you in!
Thanks, mirocu. Between you and Lopov, I think I'll have plenty of help. I've already learned that we haven't as much choice for making characters as we do in TES. From what I've heard, we can choose 4 races, but the character will always be young, for instance. I wanted my first char. to be middle-aged. This doesn't bother me, though. I need an excuse not to RP as heavily as I usually do. I won't be playing this game DiD either. No way!
Yes, I got FO3 yesterday, and it was only $17.95. It's kind of a spiritual moment for me that I'm going to try this game, because as a child I had a lot of fears of the entire world coming to an end, all due to some idiots pressing a few buttons somewhere. I'm actually gonna be facing a few fears while playing a videogame.
I do, not all the time but I do nevertheless.
Often if I am writing something I will end up going over it in my dreams - dramatising it and upon waking I will end up with a need to write it down or edit what I have previously put down.
Obviously of course, there's an entire world there, not to mention you know who, as well and everything ticks away whilst I am not thinking of anything in this world, and so inevitably it all ends up being visualised when I sleep...
I've been seeing lots more guns since I've started Fallout 3. As usual, most of these dreams have been vague, but the one I had this morning was memorable.
I owned three vehicles in this dream (this was something I just kinda 'knew') and was driving one of them--a Subaru Forester. I drove around to a couple locations, including a house I was living in. One of my other vehicles was some sort of truck, larger than the Subaru, but this truck did not make an appearance in the dream.
At some point, I wound up in some sort of mall. A shoping mall, not the Mall in D.C. most Fallout gamers are familiar with. But still, there's probably some significance here. The mall and the Mall. I wandered around this shopping mall. I believe I was looking for something. This is one of those dreams in which I was suddenly not wearing enough clothes for public viewing, and so at some point I began scrambling from here to there in my underwear.
Towards the end of the dream, I exited the mall, and it was nighttime outside. There were lights here and there, but I had walked into a mostly-deserted parking lot. A black man who kinda reminds me of Lucas Simms came up and greeted me, but I was wary of him, and for good reason. After his greeting, he brought out a gun, and began loading it, slowly and methodically.
That's when I ran! I was sure he was going to shoot me, so I ran. I don't remember if he called out to me or not, whether or not he was actually trying to shoot me. No bullets flew. I was looking for my Subaru, could not find it, so I was trying to find some sort of shelter I could hide behind, at least.
...and this is also one of those dreams in which I was running towards something (shelter) but my feet did not seem to be moving fast enough. Didn't matter, within moments I was awake.
Interesting dream, Renee! It´s definitely something I can relate to Though I sadly never have dreams based upon games I like
Too bad Lucas turned out to be a bad guy in your dream. I always liked him in the game
That's awesome, mirocu. You finally had a game-dream!
I had three bizarre instances last night while dreaming.
(1) I didn't get much sleep this weekend, and usually if this happens, I have trouble actually falling asleep when the time comes. Well, I've got a really good idea for my next Skyrim character. He's going to be an Altmer Thalmor agent doing Skyrim's Civil War, aiding the Imperials. I'm pretty psyched about him (it'll be another 'him').
While falling asleep, I didn't actually dream about him, but I heard his voice. He spoke in the same snooty Altmer voice we often hear in Oblivion elves (think Falcar, Anval Uvani, etc.) and he used a lot of big words. The thing about the dream stage is that in my case, all-a-sudden things become a lot more spontaneous. So it wasn't like I was thinking up things to say, it was as if HE was saying things to me. Although I don't remember any of it specifically, here's an example.
"I have not heard you betray me, yet I felt thine come-uppances make entrance into mine thoughts".
That was automatic writing; a process where the writer thinks up the first thing that comes into his/her head. Now granted, that's not one of the things he said to me, but it's an example of the freedom of random creativity that was going on. Hard to explain. What he actually said to me was a heck of a lot more creative, and a lot more intriguing than what I just wrote, because during the dream stage our minds open more fully, if we can allow this to happen.
Bottom line: I don't go around talking like that everyday, is what I mean to say.
So later on after I actually had fallen asleep, and then woke up at about 1AM, I didn't remember what my new Altmer said to me specifically, but I did have a series of memories of him speaking to me. I got up to use the bathroom, and realized it was raining outside. RAIN! I only make new characters when it rains. So I fired up my Xbox, and waited until the Tutorial got to the part where we get to name our latest Prisoner. And created my new Altmer.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(2). I had a second actual dream this time, not a series of random ramblings. Those of you who play Skyrim are certainly familiar with the landscape around Whiterun, right? Well, instead of Whiterun, there were a series of modern Earth buildings located upon this landscape. I lived in a home located roughly where the Battleborn's farm stands in the game. Make sense?
Although I don't remember the entire dream, at some point I was trying to set up a flatscreen TV (and some other appliances) outside instead of in my home. Why was I trying to set this stuff outside? Who knows! Dreams are funny. Anyways, if you can picture the hill that's just south of Whiterun (where the wolf always attacks us) this is the area I was trying to set up my TV.
At some point towards the end of this silly dream, I was back in my house, and realized that it's useless to set a flat-screen TV up so far away from where I'm actually living. I decided I needed to grab this stuff, and bring it into my actual home. What a wacko dream, eh? .. I wish I knew what it frickin' means, if anything.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(3). Hi Callidus, there is more to come, and here is the last (and most interesting) one of all.
I was walking a character who I'm pretty sure was Marge N. Overra through sections of Los Angeles. The world had come to an end, and Marge was with a series of survivors in L.A. I'm forgetting how the dream started, dammit. Arrgh! I"ve been wanting to write this all day, but ya know, had to go to work.
The part that I DO remember was that Marge (at some point) found one of those Metal Boxes located in a dark alley. Since there were other survivors around, Marge then rushed to get inside this Metal Box, so she could scavenge some supplies. Problem was, there were two other survivors near her. Apparently these survivors were friendly though, so instead of fighting to the death, instead Marge merely had to share her supplies with these other survivors. Both of these were children, by the way.
Later on, I was walking with Marge while the sun rose. WE came to an area of Los Angeles which looked like it had been through some sort of revitalization. All the houses and buildings were pastel-colored instead of the usual Wasteland tin and dark greys. Although I could sense that Marge was living in a dangerous world, I also knew that in this area, she was safe.
Marge walked into a sort of café, with unbroken glass windows. The place looked almost like something you'd see pre-war. Well kept. Marge sat down to have something to eat. In this café (or whatever) they were keeping the usual pre-war custom of serving glasses of water before bringing out the menu.
In real-life, I don't drink tap water. I only drink bottled water. I used to drink tap water up until my mid-20s, but I also grew up constantly getting sick. Colds, flus, sore throats, that sort of thing. I was dating somebody in my mid-20s who was a healthfood nut, and he only drank bottled water. I fell into the habit. I noticed bottled water certainly tastes better than tap water, and after drinking it for (I dunno) maybe a month or so, I realized I had not gotten sick that month. So I stopped drinking tap water.
Anyways, back to the dream. Marge was served some water, and instantly drank some. It was 'understood' that this water was Purified Water, just like we'd see in FO3, and therefore it would not have any + Rads. As Marge drank the water, the view moved from Third person to First person.
I had become Marge N. Overra. I could taste the water she was drinking, in other words. To me, it tasted more like tap water than bottled water, but I was okay with this. At least there weren't any + Rads involved.
Wow, interesting stuff.
So there's two more still to come, right?
I think you play too much, Renee! Or too little
Anyway, cool dream!
Fun dreams Renee! So what is your new Altmer's name? J'hames B^nd?
Wow, that is some seriously fascinating stuff Renee. Seriously weird, I'll grant you, but really interesting stuff.
Lucky you.
I got Elder Scrolls Anthology for PC yesterday, bought if from Gamestop.com, and had it delivered safely to my home. I'm not sure how the rest of the world is, but I've noticed that the PC sections in gaming stores here in America is often very lame, assuming there actually is a PC section. So rather than jumping from store to store, wasting time and gasoline, I decided I'd get this one online.
I haven't played it yet, and haven't even installed it yet, but already Arena is in my subconscious. I kept having dreams about playing Arena last night! These were not very memorable dreams, it was me starting up the game over and over, and then seeing some vague monsters show up on the TV screen. But just the very fact that time has colluded inside my subconscious, and future had now become present, and I'm already having dreams about this game, is rather interesting.
Honestly, I don't know if I'll be able to handle this game, but I'm at least gonna try it. Going from 3rd person (mainly 3rd) to 1st person gaming is going to be odd. But I want to see where it all started at least.
I had a TES-themed dream last night where I had to deal with some kind of nightmarishly hard secret dungeon on Skyrim. I kept getting my arse kicked by various traps, a small army of Steam Centurions (http://static2.nexusmods.com/15/images/110/759307-1333998038.jpg) and some kind of weird dragon/snake/skeleton/ghost...thing. The only way I got through them was by opening the Command Console and entering the Toggle Invincibility Mode code. So I alternately fought/stealthed my way through this dungeon, which at some point became the insides of a large, luxurious mansion guarded by a bunch of guys in robes/armour in a rather stylish red. So I stealth-archeryed my way through them and then I met old-skool movie Dracula and Igor. We hung out for a while, it was cool.
Then before that one, I had another dream where I was fist-fighting a Cockney gangster boss on an airplane. Haven't the faintest idea where that one came from, but it was easily the most badass dream I've had in ages
Yay! I somewhat had a dream inspired by a game!!
Not TES though, but Need4Speed! I was in my car and up against another driver on a familiar piece of road close to where I live, we were having a side-by-side race from a standstill. He won but not by much.
Then we were off to race again in a nearby town, but there was too many people around so we had to call it off in the end and I was so sad!
I gamed until I couldn't think straight last night, and then when I fell asleep, I had several dreams in which I was in Snaat Rayag's world. His modded PC gaming world.
I was in 'God mode', and could not be harmed, but I was free to roam wherever I liked. I don't remember what actually happened in these dreams, though, dangit, just that I was kinda flying around from place to place, moving stuff around. Guess this means I'm about to discover the Constructor's Kit, eh?
Another Oblivion dream, Renee? I´m so jealous!
I had a Skyrim dream last night. I was an Orc, living in an Orc village (besides the other Orcs, the buildings were all the Orc style architecture from Skyrim). Anyway I dreamed I had slept late in the morning, but it turns out everyone else had as well. We had all been partying long into the night, as we Orcs are wont to do. So I picked up a hammer and started tapping on some metal at the forge while the other Orcs were laying about in varying stages of passed out.
That is when it got weird. Higgins (from Magnum P.I.) came driving in on an old convertible land rover, like you see in Safari movies from the 60s. He took one look around the slovenly lot that we were, and said "Oh my god!" in disgust.
An orc dream with Magnum P.I. in it! It doesn't get any weirder than that.
SubRosa, that's wild! Caught in the act of Orcing by Higgy baby!
I just woke up from one of the most honestly terrifying dreams I've had in a while. I'm going to try to type it before I forget what happened
I was in Skyrim, the sky above was the usual pale grey, and I believe I was in the Pale area. So, snow on the ground, some mist in the air, that sort of thing. I'm not sure if I was 'me" or if I was playing a character. I believe I was a 1st-person character.
Anyways, so I look up at the sky and see these dots up above. I'm guesstimating there were 50 of them flying up there. I think "oh wow, I've never seen that in this game before". The dots were moving along with the sky's clouds, so pretty soon I couldn't see them anymore. I started to walk, and then ran, watching these dots.
As I stare up, I realize the dots are moving individually and independently of one another. They must be living things, not some strange new graphical effect. At first I'm thinking 'dragons' but these dots were too small. I was running without looking where I was going, and wound up standing at the bottom of a cliff. there was water at my feet, and a rather large bay to my left, while this cliff was to my right. I look up, and the dots were now dropping from the sky. Dozens of htem. I started getting nervous. This is a videogame, after all.
I start panicking because as they get closer, I realize they're these dark, orcish enemies; but something out of WoW instead of TES. The first few manages to land, and there was nowhere for me to run. At that moment, the camera 'seperated' from 1st person to 3rd, and I was no longer my character anymore. I could see her. I remember she wound up swimming a bit in Skyrim's supposedly frigid water, but I don't remember how she got away from those WoW orcs.
At some point, the 'game' paused, and I was now at 'work', scrambling to find a piece of paper to write everything down before I forgot. It had now become a dream within a dream, because I thought I was awake, describinb what just happened. ... I wound up in a kitchen with my mother oddly. I didn't question 'what are you doing at my job?" instead I started writing the dream down, but my hands were shaking so bad I could barely write.
But (somehow) soon the dream re-started. I found myself in a dark hamlet at night, boarding a small bus from its emergency exit at the rear. I get on this bus, and there are people on it that are ordinary, modern-day types wearing T-shirts and suits. I'm at the back of the bus. In the dream, I look around to the people I'm riding with and start thinking "what if they're the WoW orcs, not ordinary people?"
This caused a paranoid, panicky feeling all over again. I actually started to ask the people next to me "Are you one of them?" over and over, to the point they get annoyed with me. I figured I'd better get off the bus.
Again, I ran! I kinda 'knew' they were after me somewhere. I ran into this dark, abandoned-looking building. Thought I might be safe here. Nope, not dark enough. I ditched the building idea, and decided I'd run back to the hamlet again, which I did, but THEN the WoW orcs began coming for me! Camera switched to 3rd person. and again, I separated from 'me' and could now control a character instead. The WoW orcs did show up, and I'm running through the hamlet, jumping over things, pushing NPCs aside. Trying to get away.
That's about it! That's when I woke up, completely.. phew, it was just a dream!
How can you keep having these TES dreams when I never have them!??
Wow. I mean WoW That was some dream, especially with all the way it kept changing to a dream within a dream.
Renee, flying orcs? That's a scary thought.
I see I'm going to have to stop reading this thread. No orcs, but I did dream of three Dunmer (Skyrim types by the look of them) singing ''99 bottle of beer on the wall'. I had been under the impression that Dunmer were quite bright, but halfway through the song, this trio forgot the words.
Aww, that sounds like a fun dream, Acadian.
I've been playing Four Swords Anniversary on my 3DS, and I had this really trippy dream the other night. It was about the men of two families at a wedding/funeral, not sure which, probably both. In any case, they like, hit bushes and smoke came out, and then I don't even remember. And the whole thing was in Zelda graphics/top-down perspective.
You are going to be jealous mirocu but I had another series of dreams. This time centering around Lady Saga, who is currently at Vilverin.
I don't remember any of these dreams, except the last one. All the others were rather vague; but I got the sense that me and Saga were communicating during these vague dreams. They were not action-oriented, instead Saga was merely walking around the outer perimeter of Vilverin while I messed with 'her' world behind-the-scenes.
In the very last dream she wound up walking to the area where the tent is. Ya know, the tent with the garlic hanging on it? .. She winds up walking over to this tent and there was a friendly NPC nearby, who I believe was a soldier. This soldier had stacked up about a half-dozen guns on a rock, a bunch of long-range rifles. Saga was (of course) extremely disturbed by this sight, while I got all nervous, wondering which mod I possibly could have installed into her world that introduced these weapons.
I am jealous! What can´t I have these TES Dreams!??
But I´m glad for your sake, Renee!
Oh no, you are not only having dreams about modding, but nightmares!
So I had another dream last night. This one had some minor gaming stuff in it.
Was with a friend of mine, and me and her were walking through my backyard at night. There's a rather steep hill, and since it was night we had to watch our step. Just as we're descending this hill, I guess you can say I had a bit of Detect Life going; I knew there were some rats and mudcrabs on this hill. We had to step right over them.
The rest of the dream got rather ... X-rated, so I'm not saying that part, but I feared these nuisance creatures might interrupt us as me and my friend 'got busy' so to speak. But they didn't. Could be due to a certain amulet one of us wore.
Oh, dear god. Now Renee is starting to have PG18 dreams!
During the days when I first discovered oblivion and morrowind I had tons of dreams about these games. Usually involving a walk through the great forest with that ambient music in the background, or ash storms hitting my school or home. I even had a dream where all the birds that usually rest in the tree next to my home were Cliff-Racers. However I have had few Skyrim dreams, except for the last few days.
I've been playing a lot of Skyrim recently and a lot of the tv I've been watching has involved the military. So, after falling asleep watching an episode of top gear where they visit camp bastion in Afghanistan, my dreams for the last few nights have involved NATO forces invading and occupying skyrim. From paratroopers dropping over the whiterun plains, to tanks smashing through the gates of windhelm, all the dreams involve tanks and assault rifles
What is it about guns, lately? I too had a dream with about Kahreem the other night, and this one also featured some sort of handgun. In your case, you've been watching a lot of TV with guns in it, in my case, there is nothing like this going on. I watch some crime shows but it's all the Investigation channel stuff; nothing too graphic or violent.
I was reading some stuff about speculation for the setting of the next TES game, which strangely has inspired my recent dreams. A lot of the discussion was about Elsweyr and I started to think of what it would be like....
In my dream I was walking through a Sahara-type desert (sand dunes, no trees etc). For some time it was just me, and the only thing I saw was a few buried sandstone ruins. Then at some point a convoy of khajiit clad in the coolest armor, with gold rings and jewlery all over their bodies (think ancient Egyptian, Persian ,or maybe Indian) passed me. Many were walking, some rode camels and then a massive elephant walked past with two khajiit riding it. The khajiit all held spears and some had bows.
I also remember seeing an old, sandstone and adobe city from a distance. But that was much more vague..
Wow that sounds so exotic. Khajiit in armor and jewelry, and adobe cities. Yeah, I wouldn't mind if the next TES was in Elswyer. Elsweyr. I'll have to learn how to spell that word. I wouldn't mind Elsweyr or Valenwood. It would be cool to see Lady Saga's 'other' life in her home province.
I had a really bizarre dream a few mornings ago. Had nothing to do with gaming, but it's a weird one, so I'll post it.
Was living in this dank, dirty basement (really kinda nasty) with this other woman. She lived in one room, and I lived in the other. Both our rooms were the same size, and they were connected by two hallways, I guess. Oh, and this other woman looked like a younger (40-ish) Barbara Streisand.
Let me see if I can draw what our rooms looked like, so y'all can get a picture.

***=***
Ahh, never mind. Can't do it here, I could draw it at Beth though.
Anyways, me and this Barbara Streisand lady were new roomies, and our rooms were both kinda dark and ... I dunno, not very pleasant. I had a large glass door at one end of my room, while Barbara's was completely enclosed. There was a stairway going upwards at the other end of my room, and a small dirty window in one of the hallways connecting our rooms.
Barbara Streisand seemed really nice. I was excited to have her as a roomie, I could tell we'd have a lot to talk about. At some point in the dream, I was getting disgusted with my room, and started to clean it. Organize it. I walked through Barbara's room (which was nearly dark because she had no windows), moving stuff around, but after awhile Barbara was nowhere to be found.
Here is where it gets weird. I sat on my bed and looked outside the glass door. There was some sort of soiree going on out there, ya know, a really nice party where everyone's all dressed up. AT some point, I noticed there were people also in my room as well. I didn't mind this, however there were a couple children now standing right on my bed, and since I'm rather germ phobic, I had to shoo them off. Shoes + bed = yuck
Since there was some people at this party (or whatever it was) I wanted to clean up my room even more. Started to do so. Went back into the hallway with the dirty window, and moved some stuff there. When I came back to my room, there was now a group of MEN moving my things! A couple of them were carrying my bed out side. The 'soiree' now had a rather unpleasant feel to it, like I didn't belong there or something.
That's it. Now that I typed it all up it doesn't seem so bizarre. Sometimes it's hard to capture the 'feel' of a dream in words, though.
I love to hear about your crazy dreams, folks
Tonight I actually had a Fallout 3-inspired dream!!
Didn´t happen too much but I remember seeing a makeshift home under a desk out in the wasteland, and I think there were some BoS members around... Can´t tell you anything more than this, but it definitely had the Fallout theme!
Today I fell asleep in a chair and dreamt of Skyrim. Jerric was in front of me on the road by Valtheim Towers, approaching downhill. He was wearing his iron armor with the mail sleeves, no cloak or helm. I was trying to figure out which side of the screen I was on when he whipped out a hunting bow and dropped into a crouch. Before I could say “WTF” an activation menu popped up on a black screen, then there was just the desktop.
Now I know why he doesn’t shoot or sneak. He would cause a CTD!
Jerric knows he was born under the Atronach - he don't need no stinkin' sneakin'! And bows are for little elves that eat leaves.
Jerric causes CTDs!
My good friend Lopov had a dream about my Skyrim vampire Mycharonna and PM'd it to me. I got his permission to post it here because it's rather interesting.
...Some time later, I had another dream but I can't recall most of it. What I remember is, that there was a huge field with many campfires and people sitting by them, chatting merrily and at one campfire there was Mycharonna, all alone, playing Solitaire. She was wearing black clothes and had some black facial paint over her eyes. That's all I remember.
Now the interesting thing about this dream was that I had previously told Lopov that usually when I game, I don't just play one game, I play two. It's like I have an appetizer before the main course, see what I mean? I used to play Oblivion before moving on to Skyrim, for instance.
Lately, it's been the opposite: I've been playing vanilla Skyrim before modded Oblivion, so it's typically been Mycharonna for an hour or two, then I switch to Lady Saga. Mycharonna comes first. I told Lopov this, and also jokingly suggested that if he wants to game like me, he should start playing two games as well. Since he doesn't have as much time as I do, I suggested he start with Solitaire (all PCs have Solitaire built-in, it seems) before moving on to Morrowind.
So in his dream, his subconscious has made this connection, for whatever reason: Mycharonna comes first for me, and I was suggesting that he play Solitaire first. His subconscious has set it up so that Mycharonna was playing Solitaire. See?
Weird, huh?
So I've had a busy weekend, springtime and all that, and today I finally was able to take an afternoon nap. And had a Fallout 3 dream.
My newest character is a black male (Af. American) named Joe King. In my previous Fallout dream, I became my character, who was Marge N. Overra, last fall. In this dream, I became Joe.
First part I remember was Joe driving into some sort of suburban area; ya know, cookie cutter houses, cul-de-sacs, and soccer moms. He lived at the bottom of a hill. He gets out of his Jeep, and goes into a small sublet, where he's going to be living for some time. The thing about dreams is none of this is explained really, it's just stuff I just kinda 'know'. So without him saying anything, I knew he was new to this area, and that he would be renting this sublet, etc.
He gets inside the house, smokes a joint (am I aloud to say that?) and then settles in for an evening of gaming. The sublet was apparently rented with somebody else, I notice it was already a bit messy. But I also got the sense that he'd be living in a 'guy house'. So he didn't seem to mind that there was grease on a nearby stove and candle wax melted on a table. Anyways, he finds a TV and then goes to start gaming, problem was he had left his Xbox outside in the Jeep.
Joe goes back outside and opens the Jeep, which was still packed full of things. There was some melted candy bars in the back seat, I remember that part. I don't think he could find the Xbox, he seemed to be getting frustrated.
Next thing I remember, Joe was now walking on a path behind his rented sublet. The sky was getting dark. By this point, I was walking 'inside' of Joe. I had become him, just like I had become Marge last fall. Before him was a large animal, and it was initially hard to see what it was. I/Joe squinted in the darkness, and could see it was a giant hog. I mean, this thing was really big, at least the size of a donkey, and it's running around outside, unpenned! ... There was another man on the path, and Joe (and me) said something like "Hey, do you know there's a giant hog over there?" .. the man seemed unfazed by this. And anyways, the hog did not attack or anything.
Joe went walking down the path some more, where he found another animal. We quickly surmised it was a mountain lion! Egads! THIS animal initially was asleep, but quickly awakened. It started chasing us. Joe found a nearby hillside which he jumped upon, and the lion managed to follow him. He found what looked to be a rock wall, and began scaling it. The lion could no longer follow. It is interesting that he's skilled as a climber, then.
That was the end of that one! .. And now (of course) I've got a hankering for some Fallout 3. Thanks for reading.
Joe was in a man-cave! You definitely need to get your Fallout 3 on now!
I had a Skyrim dream last night. I was http://i.imgur.com/aGly12M.jpg, in her white Eisen Platte Armor and using her steel greatsword. I was fighting a Dwemer Sphere Guardian, doing all sorts of RL half-swording moves rather than the animations you see in the game. But it did not seem like a real battle. Rather it was more like a demonstration, or a sparring match. I got the feeling there were others watching, though I never saw who they were.
Phew, I had a dream that Billy Bob was killed by some super mutans, the bastards nuked him. The dreams were very vivid, it happened close to the Jefferson Memorial and Billy Bob was wearing the same outfit as in the game - the Tunnel Snake jacket. Because I play DiD, these dreams weren't pleasant (not at all!), even when I was waking up, I wasn't sure whether it happened or not. When I was "more" awake (which means "still very sleepy" in my case), I remembered that he fought ants in Grayditch yesterday, not mutants, so he must still be alive.
When you really don´t want a certain thing to happen in the game you´re playing, that´s what you dream about
I had a dream last night that was Fallout-related. I don't remember much about it, except that me (or perhaps my character) was running around hiding a lot. The only part I remember now was when I was sneaking down this long street.
It was night and dark, and I saw a bunch of figures up ahead, but they didn't see me, so I kept hiding. I got a better look at them and realized they were the Skyrim hero guys (you know, the typical picture of the Skyrim guy like the one with the horns on his helmet). There was a whole line of these Skyrim dudes walking down the street. Kinda weird to see them in Fallout though. I seem to remember wanting to throw a grenade at them or something, but didn't do this.
I had awesome dreams tonight. Probably the most interesting and immersive game-related dreams in my life. Blondie was in the Capital Wasteland (opposed to Mojave as IRL), wearing a reddish-brown Vault jumpsuit which looked really cool. She was attacked by a yellow deathclaw named Q-Acolyte Ubermatron (I have no idea how did my mind produce this name but I remember it well because Blondie targeted it in VATS) . Anyway, as in IRL she was DiD in my dreams as well, and her plasma pistol couldn't harm Ubermatron too much so she started fleeing, only to be followed by more deathclaws. All of a sudden she came to the Farragut West Station except that in my dreams there was a fort full of raiders instead of a statue, and Blondie decided to take advantage of this and lured Ubermatron and other claws straight to raiders. She was successful and Ubermatron and her flock turned on raiders while Blondie jumped to Potomac.
Then I woke up.
Ha I love taht: Q-Acolyte Ubermatron. I've had dreams in which some weird phrase or song or poem just pops up out of nowhere, and it's like what the [censored] is that about?
I often still have gaming-based dreams, but most of them are too vague to write about.
Last night I had a dream about Buffy. Yes, our very own Blond Bosmer Bowgirl from Bravil. She was sneaking around in a cave. I could tell she was sneaking because she was crouched down in stealth mode. It was partly flooded, so there was water up to her knees. A group of people came into the cave, sticking close to one of the walls. At first I thought it might be the Scooby Gang from the BTVS tv show. But upon closer inspection it wasn't Willow, Xander, and the rest of the gang. I think it might have been the companion NPCs from Neverwinter Nights. But I am not sure. That is all I remember.
Lopov - wow, that is so cool about that character being so specifically named in your dream!
SubRosa - Aww! You are one of Buffy's dearest and oldest friends so it should not surprise me that she sneaked into a dream! I actually don't have dreams about Buffy. . . but sometimes I dream AS her.
Scooby gang + Buffy, or some NVW NPCs! What a combo that would be. I had a Buffy dream awhile back, I might have written about it in this thread, I'm not sure. All I remember now was that Buffy was in my back yard, and I believe Acadian himself was there too.
I'll have to dig it up later. I know I wrote about it somewhere.
Hee! Buffy gets around, sneaking and creeping into hearts and minds!
I am not making any confessions regarding Clark.
Had another game dream last night but as per usual it was a Doom 3 dream and not a TES dream. It´s really funny. I played Doom 3 for just one year (2006-2007) and I´ve played Oblivion ever since but it´s Doom I always dream about
Anyway, the dream was short. I only remember fighting a hellknight and some flaming skulls. I hit the knight in the face with my hands and it got staggered. That´s right, folks. I took down http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2012/186/0/2/doom_by_corey33-d561wgr.jpg with my bare hands!
My cojones have never been bigger
Holy crap that really is strange that you dream about Doom and not TES. I never dream about Lara Croft & Tomb Raider or Resident Evil or any of the games I played before TES & Fallout.
Umm, I've dreamed Rainbow Six games. That was before Oblivion on the XBox, obviously.
But ever since playing OB, I've had episodes of deja vu where I think for a moment I'm in Tamriel. During waking hours! Just walking through the woods, or driving to work! WTH!
It often seems that whenever I create a new character, I have some sort of dream related to that character. So last night I had one of these.
I made a new Skyrim character, for PC, named Nassqa. He is based on a character one of my friends from high school created long ago, and he is not supposed to be very civilized. In my dream, I'm not sure if I was Nassqa, but some of the things I did seem to correlate with somebody who isn't very civilized.
The dream was rather long, but I don't remember anything until the restaurant scene. I was in a single-room restaurant, and all the tables were occupied with people. It seemed to be a rather nice place, but not too posh. It was the sort of place where you might take a date, or take somebody you cared about. Toned-down lighting and conversation, that sort of thing.
For some reason, I was trying to leave this restaurant, but the only exit I could find was blocked by a table. So (not being very civilized) I climbed on top of this table while some a couple was sitting at it. The man at eating dinner had a short, white beard, and (of course) looked up to me in horror. Not only that, but once I was on their table, I realized I couldn't even open the door to leave the place!
So what I did was get off the table, as drinks spilled all over the place. Not that my Skyrim guy climbs on top of tables, but he's the sort of guy who gets awkward in social situations, and I didn't know what to do. So I turned around and walked to the cashier. Opened my wallet, and handed the cashier a $20 bill, hoping this would pay for the mess that I just left behind.
Somehow, I got out of the restaurant. The dream meandered a bit (I don't remember what happened) and next thing I know, I am with some sort of mercenary. Somehow, I already 'knew' that we were supposed to be hunting some bad guys. These bad guys looked like a cross between Skyrim's Forsworn and Hackdirt's Brethren. Me and this mercenary were running through some tunnels or something, and we find a couple of these Forsworn / Brethren, and now it was my job to kill.
I didn't feel comfortable with this at all, but I did it. I did it in the way I do it with my videogame characters; I merely rushed upon the enemy, and started slashing. I had a couple of daggars to slash with (as my Skyrim character also has).
That is pretty much the dream. I find it interesting because I realize my new character is a pacifist, pretty much, and this is how I felt in the dream. I wasn't thrilled about looking for these enemy-dudes, I felt conflicted about it.
That is all, Thank you.
Neat Dream. Poor white-beard trying to eat his dinner with you climbing on his table!
I had a dream a few nights ago that I was going to post, but forgot about until reading yours. I was Persephone again, in her white incarnation. I was with a group of other people, and we were in a strange city - with meso-american architecture - that looked deserted. But I had an overwhelming sense of evil from the place. I/Persephone went into a stepped pyramid, and as soon as I was inside I realized it was some kind of testing ground.
The inside was hollow on one side and open from top to bottom. There were horizontal stone floors running up the other side the pyramid, creating several different levels. On the bottom level I found a huge splash of blood on the stone floor, going farther back into darkness, and a had a sense that there was some kind of trap there, so I left it alone. Instead I went up several levels. I am not sure exactly how I got up them, if I climbed the walls, or jumped, or flew, or whatever.
I was on a higher level, and did not see a way to go up any any farther. Then I noticed something broken sticking out of the wall at the edge of the floor. It was like a wooden chock, with a pair of steel rods sticking out of it that were twisted. There were some tools laying nearby, like a hammer and screwdriver. I saw two little holes in the wall near it, and realized that it was a step that had come out of the wall. So I went 'a-ha!' and knelt down to fix it.
I heard someone coming, and looked up to see a big blond man climb up on the same level, holding a rope. He looked like Robert Shaw in From Russia With Love. I smiled at him, and showed him what I had discovered. But he attacked me. So I/Persephone threw him off the level out in the big open space that went all the way down to the ground floor below. I tried doing a fancy move with his rope to wrap it around his neck, and strangle him. But it didn't quite work, and it ended up with him holding onto the rope instead, with me holding him out over empty space.
I could have just let go and dropped him. But I didn't. Instead I held on with one hand and lifted him up toward me. I took a screwdriver with the other hand and started stabbing at his hands with it, to make him let go of the rope. That is where the dream ended.
That almost sounds like you were in Atlantis or something. Heh.
I HAD A GAME DREAM THAT WASN´T BASED ON DOOM!!!!!
It was based heavily on Fallout 3 which was kinda fun Running around the wasteland, hiding from some enemies and shooting some with what looked liked a smoking pipe but it was metal, I held it where the tobacco goes
I was mostly around the Grayditch area, kinda sorta. The dream even had that molerat racing thing going on, or something similar!
Sadly, there was no sign of the ants...
And, because I just had to open my mouth, this night I DID have a dream about Doom!!!
Though it was quite short and mostly consisted of me charging up the BFG repeatedly...
Dang, the only dream I had this morning (that I can remember) had to do with attempting to call somebody on the phone over and over, but I kept getting somebody else.
Why Doom, I wonder? Fallout 3 dreams are fun, right?
Not since 2006???? Whoa.
If I had a 2006 dream it would probably be..... hmmm. It could have been based on Tomb Raider: Legend, or it could have been based on Champions of Norrath or Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. So I would dream of Lara Croft, or being in an isometrically-viewed world.
WHY CAN´T I DREAM ABOUT LARA CROFT INSTEAD!???
I know right? I wouldn't want to be her, but I would love to meet her.
So last night I had a dream, and then a follow-up of the same dream (in other words, I woke up, and after falling back to sleep I had a dream which referenced the previous dream).
Yesterday I made a post over in Beth's forums about how the storms in Cyrodiil / TES 4 are similar to summer storms in Maryland. And in my dream, it was supposed to be summer, and just about to storm. I'm driving somewhere in Washington D.C. in an old black Toyota sedan, and it had a stickshift, which I like. I like shifting my own gears as I'm driving. Anyways, I'm by myself, and driving in D.C.
I wound up in an area which looks kinda like Georgetown. Somewhat posh and upscale. I was supposed to be finding some house which would be hosting something by Bethesda employees, and I found the place. There were these two guys standing outside this Georgetown-ish house, and so I get out of my car, and go in the house.
At first, it's simply me, and these two Bethesda employees. We go into this big, old-fashioned room full of big, rectangular tables, and lots of chairs. Everything in this room was old oak, the walls, the tables, and chairs. Each table had a huge, white tablecloth, and there were dishes and silverware already set. The three of us sit down. After a few, the entire room begins to fill up, all 100+ Bethesda employees were there. We were at some sort of celebration. There were also kids there, and senior citizens, which I assume were the family members of the Beth people. It got pretty crowded at one point, I was pushed away from the table I was sitting at.
The entire reason I was there (I realized) was so I could discover something I could talk about, here in the forums. In other words, they didn't know I was not a Beth employee, and so I was nervous, but also sticking around so I could see what this celebration was about, and then I would have something to tell all of you here in the forums. See?
I have no idea what anybody who works at Bethesda actually looks like, except Todd. So I'm looking all around the room, trying to see where Todd Howard might be, but he is nowhere to be found.
AT one point, everybody begins clapping, hooting, and hollering. I'm like "what's going on". Then these three large people walk in the room wearing outfits that looked rather like old, goofy-looking spacesuits, you know, the sort of space suits they might wear on Lost in Space or Buck Rogers.
Turns out, these 'spacesuit'-wearing people were part of the next Fallout. Everybody (all the devs) was celebrating because Fallout 4 was finally past some sort of finishing point, and they were all having their own party before they announced FO4 to the press, and the spaceship people were real-life versions of what's in the new game
I don't remember what happened next, but I probably woke up. Kind of creepy that I had a dream about sneaking in with Bethesda people, but it was entertaining.
---
the 'follow-up' dream I don't really remember much of, but I was trying to become an employee of Bethesda or something. It's only interesting because in this dream, I was remembering the events which happened in the previous one, which is extremely rare for me.
And before we know it, Renee has suddenly been employed by Bethesda Softworks for real
Cool dream, Renee But you can´t expect me to believe there actually is an American who can drive a car with a manual gearbox?
Renee is a corporate gaming spy! It does make me wonder what it taking Bethesda with their next game. It has been two years since they were done with Skyrim and its dlcs. Yet still no Fallout 4!
Who knew? They say hindsight is 20/20 and, given how close Renee lives to BethSoft HQ, we should have seen it.
So. . . Renee . . . when's TES VI coming out?
More important, in TES VI, will you be able to shift gears manually?
Even more important, will I get a Buck Rogers suit in Fallout 4?
Yeah, that was a weird one about Fallout 4. I still remember it in great detail too.
And you are right, mirocu, most Americans don't drive sticks. I've been lucky because every time I've bought a car over the last 20 years or so, I manage to find one with a manual drive.
Speaking of mirocu, I had a dream with him in it last night (no no.... it's not like that!) With his permission, I share it with the group.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
mirocu and I were in some sort of basement-apartment, and it was assumed that we were both roommates. We slept on these cheap bedrolls, right on the floor. We did not even have separate rooms, instead we lived in a literal basement, with no windows, and two large rooms. Rather bleak and depressing place.
I came 'home', and found mirocu was gaming. He were playing Nintendo. I had this huge, brown bag with me, because I had just come home from shopping somewhere. When I saw him gaming, I got all excited.
Turns out, I had just bought a couple of Nintendo games, and wanted to show one of them to him, but he was way too busy gaming. He had dark hair and pale skin in this dream. Anyways, I tried to show him this game (some sort of racing game I think) and he didn't look up, he was too engrossed in whatever side-scroller he was playing. So I decided to try to get a nap.
But when I lay down, all the sudden the place is full of like 10 other people, making all sorts of noise! .. I couldn't sleep. I got mad and started shouting "hey, I need to get some sleep", and that's when mirocu finally got up from his Nintendo and made everybody leave.
After everyone left, we dimmed the lights so I could sleep. But when we dimmed the lights, I noticed that the room began to look like something out of Baldur's Gate. There were barrels and old books everywhere, you know... just all this debris. It kinda freaked me out! ... No rats, though. No monsters. But I got the feeling that I didn't like this place very much.
That is all. That's the dream. As usual, I have no idea what it could mean, if anything.
I am ever so honoured for the privilege of starring in one of Renee´s insane crazy fun little dreams!
Mirocu too busy to notice a nintendo game! For shame!
This reminds me that I had a TES dream a few nights ago. Well, half TES, half Fallout. I was dreaming about a pair of animated skeletons, the same as in Oblivion. But they were carrying miniguns from Fallout 3. One had a regular minigun, the other a gatling laser. They were walking around shooting things. I never saw what, and have no idea why. That is all I can remember of it.
It will be cool if something does come out for E3. But it doesn't really matter for me. I still haven't finished NV or Skyrim yet. I need more bloody time as it is...
When I am playing heaps of Beth gaming I find that I rarely have visual dreams about the games. But damn that music score and sound effects that Mark puts in the game. I regularly wake up with the music pounding in my head.
Which is badly needed. The older I get the more I forget things. But if I wake up with Beth music playing I immediately know what I need to do when I get up!
I'm with SubRosa. Sometimes I hit 'play' for either Oblivion or Skyrim and just let the opening theme stuff run for 5 minutes or so as background. Both are grand scores. I do like that if you listen to the Skyrim theme for a time, it goes into a tribute to Morrowind by echoing the Morrowind theme as well.
I had a Fallout dream last night. It was walking through a town filled with old 50s and 60s style http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/27/WTB_Brownstone_1.jpg, going up three stories each. Some were really long, filling entire blocks. Others were just maybe thirty or forty feet wide. It was night, and I was walking toward the edge of town.
I heard a commotion up ahead of me, and saw a Deathclaw pouncing upon two people in the road leading out into the countryside. I was unarmed, just an ordinary person, so I turned and ran. I didn't yell or raise an alarm, because I knew that the Deathclaw would finish those two in moments, and if it noticed me, I would be next. I was lucky, and after it killed them it ran right past me, in the same direction I had been fleeing toward.
I looked ahead, and saw it join another Deathclaw that was climbing up the wall of a single brownstone house right in front of me. I turned and ran in another direction, and came to a long block of brownstones. The entire thing was crawling with Deathclaws. They were everywhere, on the roof, scaling the walls, breaking into windows. It was complete chaos. People were screaming and being torn apart.
That is when I woke up.
That's horrible. That one started out okay, but I bet you were terrified at the end. Always feel good to wake from one of those.
Geez, that wasn´t a nice dream Could have used some MIRVs there I think. Couldn´t you have flipped up the console and equipped yourself, Rosa?
That is terrifying. And I’ve never even seen a Deathclaw.
http://i.imgur.com/zTg0aQf.jpg
Yeah they're horrible. A dethclaw took out one of my FO3 characters a couple years ago.
On the other hand, my current FO3 guy had a deathclaw running toward him the other day. He aimed his rifle (no VATS) and shot the thing in the head. BOOM. He missed his first three shots, but when he made that final one, somehow he got lucky and took the deathclaw out with one shot, and with a measly hunting rifle, too.
Oh my gosh. They really are horrifying.
I do have a dream to report, but it only lasted about two seconds. Jerric was at my stove flipping pancakes. I was standing to his right and could only see his very hairy right forearm and a hip, but the shape of the rest of him was there in that kind of dream-vision where you can’t see details. He was shirtless (big surprise) and wearing ragged trouser colored pants. It was morning because the sunlight was coming in my kitchen window and sort of shining on his arm hair. As soon as I thought holy crap, that’s Jerric I woke up. It doesn’t make much sense because he was a real person and not a game person, but I knew it was Skyrim Jerric.
He hee Yea, sometimes you just sort of 'know' this person is supposed to be your character. It's like the dream pre-loads this information for us.
I'd like to have a Jerric dream some day. *whistles*
Had sort of a Resident Evil dream this night. Killed a couple of monsters and then nothing more really happened. It had an eerie feeling but it wasn´t a nightmare, just one of those dreams. Funny thing too since I´ve never played those games
Whoa, RE, eh? I loved that game. The original one, anyways, with the funny camera angles. Definitley one of my Top 10 favorite games.
Well it's awesome you're having some videogame dreams!
Not really a game dream, but I dreamt about cleaning NES games
Well hey, that's a start!
What were you using to clean them? I seem to remember wiping alcohol onto their metal grid thingies, right?
Had another Fallout 3 dream!!
Short one though, and it was mixed up with another dream. I was in some low ruins shooting on Talons with my Vulcan minigun but there was something wrong. In real life gaming that thing can eat up a Deathclaw in 2 seconds but it basically did nothing on the Talons. And for some reason an old friend turned up with a board game and it was implied that it could solve my problem
There was also a cute girl somewhere but she ignored me, so I´m beginning to think it wasn´t a dream after all
Hooray mirocu! That made me smile about the board game.
Yah, I can see dreaming about Cyrodiil, it's a good place to go. I wonder if anybody has any Shivering Isles dreams?
I had an awful dream last night, it was very long, and had nothing to do with gaming, but a friend of mine jumped off a building. She survived the jump (somebody caught her 20 stories below) but it was stilll freaky and frightening.
Yeah, sounds like someone is about to take a big risk but ultimatley it will be alright
I know what that dream was about, actually. She's trying to decide whether or not she should move back west. She's a west-coast gal. mALX, you might know the difference between west coast (laid back) and east coast (more guarded and not quite as friendly) since you live in America.
Anyways, she's never felt at home here, and she's probably going to move back west. I hope she does. She has no idea what'll be in store for her when she gets back there, no job, no where to go, that sort of thing. But I think the guy catching her represents the fact that she'll be okay.
She's got the best Luck, anyways. If we could put this into Attribute terms, her Luck would be rather high. Certainly over 60.
Thanks, that helps actually. Sometimes it helps if somebody else interprets, since you're not as emotionally involved as I am.
I had a Kahreem dream the other day, but it was one of those which I don't remember much about. Dang. I really want to meet him, and remember doing so. But I think I WAS him in the dream. That's usually how these things work.
Interesting about the fish out of the water
Had a minor dream the other week and forgot to mention it here. It wasn´t much, I was climbing along some building and was constantly on the lookout for stuff to pick up. Eventually I saw some various small objects I knew was good for selling for caps
But then something else came up and the Fallout part was over
That's how a lot of mine are. They will feature bits and pieces of our games, but it's rare I'll have a full-fledged in-game sort of dream. They happen sometimes, not often enough though. I wonder if that's a good thing?
I just had one of the most interesting dreams ever. Very Twilight Zone-ish. Quite long, but I will try to bring it down. I am still bleary with sleep as I write this
I was travelling alone, not sure where I was. But I wound up at some house, and liked the guy I met who was living there. Dang, see, already some details are slipping. Anyways, I met this guy there, he's living in this huge old house, full of all sorts of books and whatnot. I fell in love with the place immediately. We start chatting, me and this guy. He's sort of college-aged.
I got the impression that he lived in the past, and I mean turn-of-century past (1900, not 2000). He seemed to think he lived in the past, too. But then I noticed a lot of his books were not really from the past, and the clothes he was wearing looked rather modern. I let the matter slip.
As I am walking through his house, other people begin to show up, all very nice. I really liked everyone I met. Some are children, some are my age. My own child was not with me though, neither was anybody else I currently know in my everyday life. But that was okay. I figured I would stay with these people awhile. And they were okay with this. Everything was cool.
We did some running around their yard, which was very bizarre. Their yard went up above the house, I mean way above. I am afraid of heights, so it took me awhile to come back down, but then I was telling the guy (the host I initially met) that I noticed my fear was not so crippling this time. In no time, I had come down from this huge hill, and was back in the house.
At some point, now it is some sort of dinner time. Everybody is in the house, and I mean at least 20 people, all gathered together having a good time. I had lost my clothes at some point, and was freaked about this, but eventually I found them, and nobody noticed anyways.
Now it gets interesting. Outside the house, a man was working on some old car, which was nice & gleaming, lots of chrome, even underneath. The car was in the air, and the man was under it. A bunch of people (children mostly) ran outside to look. Then all the sudden, the car FELL on the man, and I am FREAKING OUT, but nobody inside the house does much of anything. I'm like "is there a phone? We need to call 911". Nobody really does much of anything. I look outside, and the people outside are still there, and the man gets out from under the car. His face is all bruised, but he stands right up. Apparently he did not get crushed.
But still, nobody in the house makes a move. I look at them, they're all just sitting there, stonewalled. Then I noticed the all the people outside, the man, the children, they're gone. They all disappeared.
I go to the door, to go outside, and somebody warns me "don't go out there." And I'm like "what are you crazy, we have to go out!" Nobody does anything. So I'm like screw this. I go outside, while somebody warns me again, but I just had to go out.
Nobody is out there now, and the car is gone, too. I go running around the spot where the man's car was. As I run around, there's a tree there now, and an old Maya Angelou-ish looking lady is sitting on a bench in front of this tree. I turn to face her. As I turn to face her, I actually knew what was going on. I knew the mystery of the dream, and I knew it was a dream.
"Maya" is sitting there, not smiling, looking rather smug. She's got a couple objects in her hands, one of them is this huge cane, which looks sort Egyptian. I grab the cane from her. I start pointing it at her, unafraid (maybe this is all my videogame bravery coming through here!), and taunting her, like some sort of magic is about to happen, just because I say this, and point my cane at her. She just sits there.
Now she raises the other object in her hand, which is also some sort of cane. Points it at me. As she does so, I realized what was about to happen: the dream now ends.
And that's the mystery. If you go outside when something "weird" happens, the dream ends. I feel like those people inside that house (who seemed so real) are still stuck in the dream somewhere, just like in a Twilight Zone episode.
Dreams can´t handle being rebelled upon
As for me I had a small dream last night about being on these forums and about someone who is now a lost member. It was strange/fun/sad all at the same time.
I dreamed that I created a Ghoul so I could safely explore Megaton which Deeno blew up. I don't remember much except that this Ghoul was slowly descending down the pit which was once known as Megaton and he was getting +127 RADS per second but since he was a Ghoul, nothing happened to him. That's as much as I recall.
I had one this morning that was pretty scary!
Was walking along in a town that looked just like Pleasantville, USA, you know, all the lawns perfectly mowed, smack-dab in suburbia. Wasn't really paying much attention to anything. At one point I slipped and fell, and as I fell I grabbed for something to break my fall. Wound up grabbing the top-end of a picket fence, which broke in my hand. So now I'm carrying this top-end of a fence, sort of like a stake. And in the dream, I began thinking of one of my characters in TES IV: Oblivion, who just accepted some elaborate vampire quest. I realized that the stake would work perfectly for perma-killing vampires.
I continue walking up some street. All the sudden, a half-dozen figures came out of nowhere, crowded me from the front, and I knew what they were, and I was done. Flight or fight, there it was, and either method would be useless. The "weapon" I was carrying was no good. At that moment, I realized that the sky had gotten just dark enough for them to emerge. They looked more like Twilight vampires than Cyrodiilic vampires, but the motivation for them showing up at all seems to come from what my elf has been up to lately.
It was pretty darn frightening, but I woke up immediately, thank goodness!
I gotta say, Renee. That sounds like a perfect metaphoric dream; USA going from its nice and comforting ´50s feel to its present state...
Sounds like you were in Tranquility Lane! Were the vampires sparkling?
Uh oh.... looks like we got a bot alert.
Funny you should bump this thread though, I do have a rather bizarre dream to share. I had it yesterday.
In real-life, my family is dealing with my uncle's old house. He was a pack rat; a hoarder. He would buy stuff stuff, literally buy all sorts of things and never use them. This includes tools, regrigerators (plural), comptuers, laptops, laptop cases, all sorts of random stuff. He was bi-polar, and I believe somewhat scizophrenic. And he was MEAN sometimes, although this depended on what day it was. But he was a hoarder, like I said. When we were going through his house a couple months ago, apparently my mom found a Logitech G930 wireless headphone set...perfect for gaming, even though he wasn't a gamer. I also got a couple free flatscreen TVs. Score for me, and score for my daughter!
Anyways, my dream. I was in some old Baltimore rowhouse, it was dark inside, apparently the electricity had been shut off. This place did not look exactly like my uncle's place, but the implication is that it was his place (he died recently). I don't remember the specfics, but some members of my family and some other people were outside at one point. I was the only one in the house, and it was empty of things.
Here's the weird part. I don't remember what exactly happened, but at some point I felt a "presence" inside the house. And I began to wonder if this presence is Sarah Phimm, one of my newer Oblivion characters. So I call out her name: "Sarah, are you here?" .... and I don't know if it was her, but somebody then picked me up.
I began to float around the dark room, and I felt that I was being moved around by some sort of spirit. Whether it was Sarah, I don't know, but she did respond to me calling her name. I never heard her speak though.
I was mostly awed, but also very slightly scared too. This dream was not lucid, but it felt VERY real. I felt like this spirit or whatever was a gentle being, but you know.... I'm not used to being carried around by a ghost! AT some point, I decided it was time for me to be on my feet again, and also go outside, so I said "Hey Sarah, can you open the door for me? I want to go outside now." And she did. She put me down, and opened the front door for me. And I went outside, looking at my family and whoever else was out there, thinking WOW if only they knew.
Later on when I woke up, I was pretty disappointed. I've discovered I want a ghost-friend, and returning to Earth without one bummed me a little. On the other hand, I also got goosebumps all over as I was typing my dream into a Notepad page on my computer.... like what if I start floating around my room here on Earth?
Friendly or not, you can always order it to stop messing with you. They have to obey.
Interesting dream, btw. Was it at all scary?
If you daughter is strong with the Force, she might be levitating you...
That is what I get for having so much Star Wars on the brain lately.
I´ve had a couple game dreams lately but nothing to do with any Beth game. I was gonna mention one from a couple nights ago but now I´ve forgotten what it was
One of tonight's dreams involved me playing some sort of medieval-setting top-down* fantasy game with possible multi-player capacity. Either multi-player or I was demoing the game for someone unseen or heard. (The dream itself focused solely on the game world. The 'real' world was never seen.) I had returned to the game after a lengthy absence. My character, an armored warrior with sword and maybe shield, was adventuring in an already familiar part of the map. I, as the player, was quite surprised when he discovered the entrance to an area we had somehow never noticed before.
So strong was my sense of familiarity with the game upon waking that I was firmly convinced I had actually played it at some point in the dim past. I racked my feeble brain several minutes before finally admitting that no, it was wholly fictitious.
*I have a vague recollection that, as is the way of dreams, the viewpoint occasionally shifted to other perspectives.
How delightful, Decrepit. I find that sometimes I'm disappointed to wake up from such a dream, one which captures my focus so enormously, to the point that I can still remember lots of details later on.
I'm not very good at remembering dreams but the one game related thing I can recall in a number of dream settings is finding I have a menu page that I need to select from regarding continuing the dream. I can never seem to figure out how the menu and it's selection options relate to anything so I get stuck there trying to figure out the menu. The menus have had different layouts at different times with icons and tiny text I couldn't quite make out but all seemed to be legitimate and yet inscrutable.
I suppose this is another variation of the standard anxiety dream where I find myself clueless about what's going on and yet I'm expected to do something.
I had a dream with the AntAgonizer last night. Not just one of them, but two! They both had the Antagonizer costume from Fallout 3. But it wasn't a Fallout dream. They were real superheros, with actual super abilities. The first one had a giant, human-sized ant companion. The second was even cooler, because she was Renee! Renee was the good Antagonizer, and she was fighting the evil Anty over the right to use the AntAgonizer name. Renee had super-strength, and at one point she was wrestling the giant ant and I could hear its armored exoskeleton cracking. Eventually Renee won.
There were other superheros too, though I don't remember them very well. I think Neil Gaiman's Death was one of them. The Renee/Antagonizer teamed up with them afterward.
Renee as the AntAgonizer!
I had a dream a couple of nights ago but I haven´t posted it because it isn´t a game dream. But now I´ll do it anyway
From some reason I was being pushed into moving out of my apartment and into another one not far away. And guess who was there to help me find another apartment and give me advice? SubRosa! Also, Decrepit, Renee and possibly one more was there too but more in the background.
Two Antagonizers fighting over copywrite infringement! It sort of makes sense since Renee is the undisputed champ of creatively clever character naming.
Woot! Chorrol party at Chez 'Rocu! That one sort of makes sense too since SubRosa is the undisputed champ of sage advice (and she moved to a new apartment herself not too long ago).
My advice on moving is to hire a professional moving company to do all the work for you. Every time I move I say I am going to do it. Every time I do it myself. Ugh.
Oh my gosh, how funny, Florens! I am an Antagonizer, but a good Antagonizer.
I had a dream last night which had several parts, like four different parts, but only the final part was game-related. I was in some small, European-looking village at night. It was lit by gas lamps, and was very quaint & pretty. There were some people strolling down some lanes, which were (of course) perfectly clean and adorable.
But I saw a giant in the distance... a Skyrim giant. One of those huge, lumbering guys. I figure "he's peaceful, he won't harm anybody," but then there were two of these giants, and they both noticed me, and then came after me!
I start to run, but everywhere I look, everybody around me was suddenly a "giant", even though they were merely my size. I kept running, around in circles.
Finally I became my http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad208/xenaclone/Photo-0062.jpg from long ago. I could cast spells! I could throw lightning bolts and fireballs from my fingertips. I found a wall (or something) I could run on top of, so the enemies could not get me, and began trying to cast spells at them.
It was rather odd, because I now had full confidence against all these monsters, but I was not very good at being my character. Matter of fact, every magic I managed to throw either missed, or did no apparent damage.
I woke up about then. What a fun dream, eh?
mirocu: I'll do it, sign me up. Um, you have to pay for my plane ticket to Scandinavia though.
I wish I had more dreams where I could cast fireballs!
All my dreams are usually either , or just plain
I had a Rattler moment in my dreams this morning. Yeah, Lopov's mean guy character, but thankfully he wasn't alive. In this dream, I was looking through a newspaper and came to the obituaries. A huge portion of one of these pages (a quarter-panel sized portion, maybe) had been placed explaining Rattler's death.
His funeral would be held in Las Vegas. This obituary almost looked celebratory though, it looked more like a showbiz advertisement than a somber obituary notice. I am glad Rattler was not alive in my dream though. Sheesh.
Rattler - the stuff of nightmares.
Renee´s mind works in mysterious ways - I never even dream of my own characters
Its a good thing he was dead! Did they have Rattler propped up in his coffin, so people could take their picture with his corpse?
mALX: I don't eat just pizza before bed, but you're right-on with the ice cream. I'm the queen of Haagen Daaz!
I had another Persephone dream a few nights ago. I do not remember much. But I do recall that I/Persephone was with a number of other people, and that I was protecting them from some sort of bad guys. Then one of said bad guys showed up. With a chainsaw. He tried to kill me/Persephone with it. That was a really bad idea on his part. I/Persephone grabbed his wrists, crushed them, and then picked up the chainsaw. The rest is... well... I am sure you get the idea.
Have you ever had a Loviatar dream???
Yeah my gosh Lovi would be an intense one to meet! That would be like if I met Skankee Krahk-ho. She wouldn't eat dead bodies, instead she would to something with them. *cough* You know.... she would *blank* them. Yeah.
I have had some Janet Talia dreams, as I'm gearing up to get into her game this weekend. All these dreams are vague though. Just her running around the Wasteland.
I had a Fallout dream last night. I do not remember much, except that I was carrying an AER9 laser rifle. I distinctly remember the metal stock, with the three circular holes in it. I was wearing some kind of dirty duster, whose bottom hem was blowing gently in the breeze. It was twilight, and I seemed to be searching an area in the woods. There was a lot of dirt, and fallen down trees, and dead leaves. I don't really remember anything else.
Aw, I hate when I can't remember them, especially when I know something really cool happened. Carrying a laser rifle seems rather neat.
Been awhile since I've had a gaming dream.
The only game dreams I ever have are Doom inspired. Bah.
*demands refund*
I had a real amazing dream just now. Waking up now before I get ready for work, but I have to type up this dream while it's still fresh in mind.
This one began in some medieval village. And I mean, it was 100% medieval-fantasy. It was as if I were back in the 1500s. So I was dressed in this white blouse and colorful skirt. I had blonde hair, with tresses and I looked just like someone you'd see in Game of Thrones. There was no doubt this was real.
I left the village, and the idea was that I was going on some sort of quest. Through some woods. And I mean, these woods were spooky! I don't remember what my quest was, what I was supposed to be doing, but within minutes, it didn't matter anymore because I got attacked by this huge humanoid-looking thing. An ogre or giant! I had been sneaking around (just like we do in our games) but whatever that thing was, it saw me, and reacted!
I mean, this was frightening, all the sudden. The area I was walking on was a path, through dark forest. Lots of trees. On my right was a hill which went upward, and that's the way I went. I went running up this hill. That ogre or giant came crashing from behind me. But I was too quick, or something. Eventually it got lost.
At the top of the hill, the land leveled off, and the woods ended. I could see across a road, but it was a modern road. One which cars drive on. I walked across this road, and found a street, which was a modern street. It had modern houses with aluminum siding and manicured lawns. Cars. Sprinklers. The sky above was grey and cold.
I went walking and found some sort of coffee bar. And just stood there, looking at all the people in there who were living ordinary lives. Who hadn't just been chased by some giant DnD-styled monster. I had to calm down. Eventually, I did try to order some coffee. I was shaken badly though.
I forget what happened next, but eventually my dad and I met up somehow. And he was going to some sort of get-together for family. So I decide "sure, I'll go," and off we went in his car. This party was at a largish house, and wasn't too far away from where the rest of my dream occurred, but we were still on the modern side of things. The house had a long driveway; people were gathering.
I went walking around the party. And immediately I was bored. I walked into and out of the house. Saw nobody I knew. I just wanted to go home. There was a lot of people there though. It took me awhile to get out of the house, and find my way back to the house's driveway.
I went looking for my father's car. Not there anymore. I couldn't find him. He had left?
I realized my own car was down the hill, back in that medieval village. In the beginning of the dream, there was no cars or modern things, okay? Now all the sudden I realized I had driven there initially.
I decided to leave the party. I would brave the woods again. I could do it. Left the house, and walked back across the road, which was apparently the same road as where I'd crossed before. Straight across though, there was a tavern.
I walked into this tavern, and (again) everyone was dressed in medieval finery. The place was dark and completely made of wood, iron fittings everywhere, sawdust on the floor. I walk in there, and decide I'd better prepare before I go back in the woods.
There was a man nearby who was making a crossbow, and so I began chatting with him, and he agreed that he could give (or sell) the crossbow he was making to me. He had applied some sort of lube into its workings, the thing was totally functional. I was scared, but I was going to do this.
The last part of the dream, I began asking the man if I could also have some bolts. Did he have any bolts he could sell me? And he looked at me in horror. He didn't say anything, but he looked at me like no, you aren't supposed to be able to use this thing! What are you, crazy? I got the sense that he was NOT supposed to hand out crossbow bolts. Oftentimes at Renfests, they do sell weapons, but people buy these weapons so they can hang them from their walls. They don't actually use these weapons. Meanwhile, I as planning to use this one, if I had to.
I began running through several things in my mind, and came to a quick conclusion. Yes, the woods beyond the road were supposed to be some sort of medieval area, just like when we go to Renfests. But none of these guys knew that they had some real, live monsters running around their woods, which required weapons and preparation!
Wow, a medieval time traveling fantasy game all wrapped up in a dream!
Very cool dual world dream. Hope you get the bolts tonight and can finish things up!
Yeah that one was very different, with going back from modern to medieval. I had another one recently. Had nothing to do with gaming, but it's so bizarre ...
This first part is not the dream. My daughter's become fascinated with undersea life, and we've been watching a few nature programs on YouTube about deep-sea animals, the ones that bioluminate.
So the dream I had was really short, matter of fact it was only about 20 seconds long. I was underwater, that was all. I was in that part of the world where sunlight doesn't penetrate so it was completely dark. . And right before me was a bell-like sea creature, sort of like the one at the top https://wordlesstech.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Incredible-Deep-Sea-Creatures-640x1063.jpg. It was moving around, and all lit up.
I got really frightened. Because we're all used to standing on flat land, yet the surface of the ocean was way below me! I got the sense that I was just floating in the middle of space. Not only that, but I could feel the crushing pressure of being deep underwater! IT is amazing what the subconscious mind can fabricate, and the fact that I could feel those tons of water crushing all around me was the final touch which was really freaky.
That is all. Like I said, it only lasted a few seconds! I was glad to just wake up.
That's a wild dream. Better not watch The Abyss after that!
I had a Fallout dream a few nights ago. I dreamed there was a Deathclaw in my closet. It wasn't really menacing me, but I was worried about it anyhow. So I wanted to get out of the room. But my mother was there too. Then suddenly we weren't in my bedroom anymore.
We were in a shop. I was behind the counter, and mother was in front of it, and the Deathclaw was just outside. I was trying to tell my mother get out and run, but she wouldn't move. But my voice got the Deathclaw's attention, and it started coming in.
I ran out the back door. Then I stopped and waited for my mother to come out. But she never did. Of course we all know what Deathclaw + mother equals. But I couldn't just leave. So I circled around to see what had happened. But I woke up before I could get to the front of the shop and look in through the window.
Wow, hey that is intense. Deathclaws really are a product of nightmares. I'm glad I've never had one in my dreams!
Yea so I had one last night. Let's see. Mostly, this dream took place in two rooms. One of them was large, roughly the size of a school gymnasium (and as tall as one too). The other room was smaller, and set higher above the first room. If you can imagine, the smaller room had windows all the way across its width, with doors leading into the larger room. It looked down into the larger room.
I started off in this smaller room. I believe I was talking to some people in there. I don't remember what I was saying though. I walked into the larger room, which sloped downward, and was full of greenery: trees, shrubs, pathways. It was a gym-sized terrarium, basically.
This part gets really odd. As I'm walking in there, I begin describing to somebody (don't know who) how my gaming schedule works year-round, particularly how in summer / fall I tend to play Fallout more often, but only if it's sunny outside. I'm walking around this giant room, moving through all these plants telling somebody about Fallout. Weird.
Gets weirder though. After moving through the larger room for awhile, I went back up into the smaller one. In this room were just typical room things: tables, chairs, etc. I believe it was also some sort of control room, with a circuit board of some sort, like we'd see in Fallout games.
As I'm moving through this room, a LARGE green-skinned woman wearing funny-looking clothes (maybe even armor) begins following me. She looked just like Mazoga! In the dream though, she was not identified. This Mazoga-looking orc suddenly has a large rope in her hand. A lasso, basically. She begins twirling this lasso around, and casts it around me! I'm like: what the heck? She lassos me in with her rope, and begins trying to give me this huge bear hug and I was like NOOOO!!!!!
'Zoga hugs!
It's Wonder Orc! Or Mazoga Prince. The Lasso of Hestia compels you to tell the truth!
Ha ha I forgot about the wonder orc. It's a good thing I type this stuff down nowadays.
So I wake up this morning and figured I'd play some Fallout 3 today. It's just an easier game to get into. Anyway, had some cereal then went back to sleep. This time I had a New Vegas dream. I guess I was supposed to be Linda Hand in this dream, or maybe I was simply myself. Anyway, I was traveling with a group of others in an old van. There were three others in my group, and one boy. I had just acquired the van somehow.
We left the Vegas area, and were somewhere out in the desert. I pulled into a service station which was surprisingly busy, but mostly with people just moseying around, I was the only person apparently who'd driven a vehicle in, meaning that all these others probably just lived here. The service station was not something modern, with fluorescent or neon lights, in fact it was quite messy. Stuff was lying all over the ground: trash, car parts, etc. There were dozens of hand-drawn signs tacked up all over the shop (which was mostly outdoor) listing prices in horrible handwriting.
I get out the van and walk toward the place's booth. A skinny greasy-looking blond guy gets out, and I ask "Hey, how much for a full tank? I think it's 20 gallons," and the guy sneered "we ain't got no gas here, lady."
So that took care of that. I figured we'd syphon some gas if we had to. There were still cars all over the place, never mind that any gas in them would be 200 years old.
Later on, we'd pulled the van over, and it was getting to be late afternoon. I'd pulled over because we found one of those Rock-o-La machines (whatever they're called) and I figured we'd try to get the entire thing into the back of the van. Now we've got some tunes as we travel! But this proved to be too much work. So all of decided to take a nap.
From this moment, the "camera" separated into a cutscene. It moved around, and showed all of us sleeping in a heap, like a bunch of rodents. But the boy had left us, to go out playing or whatever. Well, this guy wearing all dusty dark clothes had somehow managed to follow us all the way from the service station, on foot. He'd found where we'd stopped, and now was after my van.
He snuck up behind the child, crawling in the sand, and with one motion slit the poor kid's throat. Then the camera showed him moving toward our van. He was approaching from the front (we were all crashed in the back, with its doors open). But before he could get to us, an old man got off his porch and shot the guy with a shotgun. *BAM!* *BAM!* *BAM!* he was a lousy shot, lol. Anyway, when we'd pulled up, this man, and the ranch-style house he lived in, were not there. Now they were.
Because the child died though, the game ended before anything else happened. And then it asked me if I'd like to reload a previous save? And I breathed a sigh of relief, because I knew the last time I saved was way back at that gas station.
Good thing you could reload from that old save!
I had forgotten about this thread.
Had an excellent, lengthy adventure type dream mid last week, an extreme rarity for me any more. Sadly, I now recall next to nothing of it.
One semi recent dream I DO remember much of: I had been away somewhere during the early part of the dream and had recently arrived home (?). Pressed the power button on my PC case. Nothing. Examined the case. Not only was it not plugged in to anything, but its connecting cables were missing. Set the case on my desk. Opened it. Empty!!!!! Now I'm panicked and mad as all get out. Asked around about what in the world was going on. No results at first. Finally some fellow (a relative in the dream) told me my aunt (still alive in her early ninties but younger in the dream) and mom (long since departed) had used the computer while I was gone. (I doubt either ever touched one in RL.) They thought the mouse responded sluggishly so took it (the computer) to a repair shop to fix that. Repairs went a bit overboard. My dream self is distraught by this point. The final portion of the dream consisted of me confronting them and asking Why? Why? Why? Over and over again.
Sounds like not even in our dreams can we escape computer problems
Gosh that sounds horrible Decrepit, more like a nightmare! I've had computer dreams too I'm sure, though I'm not remembering any of them.
I had a gaming dream last night. Sort of. I don't remember a whole lot, except I was in a game like Fallout and I met Renee. She had white hair, and was carrying an AR15. I remember her helping me to my feet after some big baddie had knocked me down. Then we took off in cars and raced down the street. To escape the baddie, or catch him/her/it, I do not know.
Y’all believe dreams are glimpses into the future? That they can be prophetic?
No.
Although that said, I do believe that prophecies can be self-fulfilling. That we fill in the blanks ourselves, and even unconsciously change our behavior, in order for them to come true.
