Grits and I swapped characters a few days ago. I told her how to make http://i.imgur.com/2RwMGpi.jpg and she told me how to make http://i.imgur.com/RqLI966.jpg.
It’s been a lot of fun to play her character and to see what mine is doing, so we decided to make this bigger.
Here’s the idea: You can post your character(s) and/or play someone else’s. If you are playing someone else’s, keep them true to character as much as you can. It’s more interesting that way. If you don’t know them very well, then ask questions!
You do not have to play a character if you want to share one. You do not have to share a character if you want to play one. It is a lot of fun to swap though, so consider it!
Posting a character here in no way transfers ownership of that character. You won't 'lose' your character. Playing someone else's character does not make you 'own' that character. I do not anticipate this being an issue but I wanted to be sure it is absolutely clear.
These can be characters from any game that is commonly played here.
If a character that you would like to try is not already posted, then send a personal message to their creator to ask. If they refuse, that is their business. Do not try to pressure someone into sharing a character.
Edit: Feel free to share your adventures and post pictures here, but do not post them in the other threads. This will avoid confusion. If you alter someone’s character significantly in personality or appearance, then do not post them.
I love this idea!!
How does this work?
Are you sending save files from the end of character creation, or just lists of slider settings? And what about characters like my own Heidi, who have custom costumes?
@ghastley: Generally, slider positions so console players can participate. I understand that in Oblivion (and maybe Morrowind) that will be difficult. If you want to provide a file for PC players, go ahead. Custom outfits can be linked as well, but you may want to recommend something vanilla that is suitable.
To start things off, here’s Aravi for Skyrim:
Use the default female Khajiit for the base
Skin tone - white (left)
Weight - skinny (left)
Complexion - brighter white (right)
Dirt - None
Scar - 3 from the left (so it's on her cheek)
War paint - 2 from left - black color
Hair - 2 from left - black color
Eyes shape - 3 from left, green color
Eyeliner - black
Eye tint - tan
lips - black
mouth - I think it is the default value
neck - black
PC players, if you know how, reduce her size by 2%.
Aravi is best with a pair of swords. She wears light armor, and is a good shot with a standard bow. Restoration is her best school of magic, followed by Alteration. She is ok at Alchemy. She sneaks a lot and uses the Muffle spell to help herself go undetected.
She does not like footwear that has a sole or covers her toes. Footwraps are what I use the most. She will also go barefoot. She likes bracers over gloves. She does not like helmets that smash her ears (unavoidable on a console so don't worry if you are).
She generally has a very low armor value so she can be difficult to play in some situations. I recommend the Lord Stone for extra help in that area.
http://bethesdaocg.wikia.com/wiki/Aravi
I’ve improvised some of Aravi’s gear, but that’s been part of the fun. Also I had to re-create Skyrim Jerric to get his sliders since I don’t have the Face Sculptor in his game. I’ll post my picture of the latest him with the slider settings tomorrow (when I'm more awake). Plus I have some Aravi adventures to share.
My friend, Shelly Mars, and I are doing something kind of similar. I recreated my current character as a follower and sent the .esp to her. She gave me the stats of her current character and I recreated the character as a follower in my game. So the result is: I have her character as a follower in my game and she has my character as a follower in her game. We have sworn a solemn oath not to go 'out-of-character' with each other's characters.
This gets more complicated. She and I have second computers set up next to our gaming computers that are used for nothing else than a Skype connection between us. We call it our "hot line." About once a week we use this to play a kind of DIY co-op. We do the same quests or go through the same dungeons simultaneously. As we do this we type instant messages back and forth on the "hot line" sharing our experiences.
If she is unsure how to play my character I am able to offer advice in real time and she can advise me how to play her character. I think our next move - someday - is going to be to set up webcams so that she can actually see me play her character and I can see her play my character.
Here's Kayla!!
In a few moments I'll edit this post and show everywhere how to get the sliders just right for my pretty elf.
But in a nutshell, this is Kayla:

Dawnbreaker,
Glass Bow of Thunderbolts,
Arrows with damage above 7

One-Handed
Alchemy
Hand-to-Hand
Minor Skills:
Destruction (Firebolt, Fire Rune)
Archery
Other Spells she uses:

-Married to Onmund, lives at Breezehome in Whiterun, although in MY game, Onmund has passed away and she lives in her dream home in the Rift.
-Has a tendency to sprint out of caves where the undead are, as she cannot stand the smell for too long
-Goes hunting for vampires.
I'll add to what Grits said, Kayla has a tattoo on her lower back, the Daedric symbol for Meridia. PC players, if you're playing her, add that if you want to.

Lip Color: One to left from middle
Hair:
Short Hairstyle. Feel free to give her a similiar hairstyle, but she'd never shave, braid or get a mohawk.
Hair Color: Two from middle, the red hair color.
Such a neat idea!

Don´t think I´m gonna participate though as my current time with Oblivion is non-existant. I would like to have certain characters as followers though...
This looks like so much fun! Probably won't get involved, though... not yet anyway
Pseron Wyrd, that sounds like tremendous fun. It’s the keeping-in-character and sharing experiences with the other player that make this worth the time, and you and Shelley Mars are perfecting that!
Hollow, Kayla will be the final frontier for me. I don’t recall ever playing an Altmer female in any of the games. Was she married to Onmund in your game? Does she live at Breezehome? I remember that she and Lydia are friends from her story. What do you use for hand wraps, Forsworn gauntlets? They cover the knuckles but leave the fingers free on female characters.

I’m having a blast with King Coin’s Aravi. Here’s what we’ve done so far.
First she did some http://imgur.com/OwHhpz9 (Marcurio) and http://imgur.com/N0ONVMa. Darnand is hanging around for a while to help. He owes her. ![]()
Here is a picture of Aravi http://imgur.com/Zr0v9uQ. She had quite the footrace with his caravan trying to get his amulet back to him. She finally caught up with them in Dawnstar. She was SO happy to see him!
Between dropping Darnand off at the house and picking up Kharjo, Aravi had some business with the Companions. Here she is http://imgur.com/kEbchdN. She has not had a transformation yet other than the first one. It’s very different to see all of those Nords through Aravi’s eyes. My wolves are Mikke and Jensa. Both of them fit right in.
With Kharjo at her back Aravi tackled http://imgur.com/cNHRXwM for the Jarl. Again it was a different journey with Aravi. She’s both cautious and fierce. I can’t think of any of mine with that combination.
Oh, and spiders! Ugh. Her marksman is nowhere near as good as her one-handed, and Kharjo charged in to close with the big one in BFB right away. Aravi was dancing around knowing that she could finish it quicker with her blades but just unable to do it. Plus the poison was nearly killing her, and she knew that one bite would be the end. She ended up running back through to heal and then healing Kharjo when it was over. Yuck. Poor Aravi!
Here I was trying to get a good closeup and I got this surprise http://imgur.com/H1aDYka! She was about to go swimming in a pool by a waterfall. She saw the slaughterfish before I took the picture, lol.
Her first unscripted dragon event was pretty awesome. By then she and K had met the Dawnguard and were http://imgur.com/yKFPX6K looking for the nutty Breton chick. A dragon attacked them right outside that sort of low dragon lair. We could even see the top of the Word Wall. Aravi had time to chug potions while the dragon was circling, otherwise she would have been hiding. She needs a few perks in alchemy unless we find some gear to improve potions.
Anyway she and K got separated by the terrain and the dragon landed. Aravi was kind of stuck with a cliff and big rocks, but she had some room to move. The dragon could have eaten her before she finished it. (I have the HUD on to prevent sudden surprise death.) She had to decide whether to heal and hope for the best or go out on fire with a sword in each hand. Then she heard ka-chunk from a crossbow and knew that Kharjo had her back, wherever he was. So she went for it. That was close!
Then when it was time to investigate the Word Wall it seemed natural to stroll up the middle of the road relaxing since they had just killed the dragon. Uh, no, this is Aravi, and she is no fool. She Muffled and sneaked up on another damn dragon. Thankfully she got some good lingering damage poison recipes from Darnand since this time they had no “help” from local wildlife (a bear and sabrecat tried to eat her during the first battle). She got the head-riding kill-cam. Woo hoo! Her tail looked awesome.
Now that the Aravi Manor details are in Darnand’s hands, Aravi has a little time to relax with Kharjo. Here’s the best I could do for her http://imgur.com/QzaPMij needs. Of course she also carries her furs for when it’s snowy.
Oh, one last thing. Aravi Manor is a hotbed of danger. She had already had a giant and a dragon attack there. Then last night when they got home the sun was setting so she and Kharjo dashed up to the alchemy tower roof to catch the rays (and for me to take a picture). Then we heard some trash talk from below. WTH? Aravi looked around but couldn’t see anything down there. Then someone said something about being more than just a pretty face.
Vampire attack! At her house! She was not pleased. Also she was not taking the stairs. Aravi made a little leap onto the roof and then just dropped down to the ground. No damage. She is awesome!! ![]()
This does sound cool. What about mods? I am using several that enhance the appearance of my character, so I am not sure if vanilla sliders apply. These might also affect slider settings for characters I import.
I’m sure that mods will make it harder in some cases and easier in others. I’d say if you’re posting your character then also post the mods you’re using along with some advice for console players, for example “I’m using X mod which smooths out the skin and adds eyes colors.” Or whatever. That’s where your picture will help a lot. Things like new races and drastically altered birthsigns would be out of my reach to play, but I’m sure there are other PC players who could manage it so don’t let that keep you from sharing.
Oh, that gives me another thought for Jerric’s entry.
Oh, for example Aravi’s earrings are a mod, but there’s a vanilla setting that has her hair plus single earrings. So I used that one.
ETA: Here’s an unexpected side-effect of playing someone else’s character. For three days running I’ve been forgetting to eat! That does not happen when I have Jerric on the brain, lol.
@Elisabeth: I’d love to try Kayla sometime! Not right now though, I have 3 characters right now. That’s the most I’ve ever had at once. ![]()
@Grits: You’re forgetting to eat? Or Aravi is? ![]()
Here's what Grits' Jerric has been doing:
Jerric is the most reckless character I have played. Because of the random alternate start mod I used, he was plopped down out in the plains west of Whiterun. The first dungeon he did was Fort Greymoor. Inside, he quickly ran into a bandit that was stronger than he was. The crazy Nord lit the oil spill he was standing in and ran outside of the fort. He went back inside after healing up and the bandit was dead. Inside, the man took nearly every weapon he could lay hands on. I’ve never seen so many daggers on one Nord.
In Whiterun he saw a hot woman tending a forge right next to the gate. “Is there anything I can help you with?”
He was surprised when she put him to work!
Now this was probably too much planning on my part. Jerric needs to go to Riften to pick up Darnand (Marcurio) and that’s going to cost gold. So Jerric accepts a bounty and ends up with a load of Lunar enchanted weapons. Well, instead of selling them, the crazy Nord wanted to keep them. ![]()
Despite that and the good time he had at the Bannered Mare, he exited the inn the next morning with over 500 septims in his pocket. Then one of the women in with a market stall called “Fresh baked bread!” I groaned, knowing exactly what Jerric was going to do. He spent nearly 100 septims on bread, cheese, and drink for breakfast. Then the woman told him about someone that would not leave her alone. Jerric was in a brawl before 10 AM.
Later when he finally got on the road, he passed Honningbrew Meadery. He exited that building with less than 100 septims. When I finally get Darnand, he’s carrying all of their money.
This sounds like a great idea! But since I am playing FO3 these days, not something I will likely be doing soon. Still, it is fun to see other people's adventures with swapped characters. If anyone wants to play Hrafn or D'Eon, or any of my other characters sing out and I'll figure out their sliders. Otherwise I think I'll just be content to read.
@SubRosa: This is open to Fallout players as well! I know there are other people here that play it.
@Pseron Wyrd: I used my Xbox to talk to my friends while playing Oblivion. We didn't try to go on adventures together like you are, but we did share our exploits in real time. ![]()
The latest from Jerric!
After a frustrating trip to Riften, Jerric had the most memorable entrance to the city. When the guard tried to hold him up for money, Jerric slugged him. He got in the city for the cost of One Assault. Off to get Darnand now!
Some screenshots from Jerric.

KC, rofl! I was rolling over the post-breakfast brawl and the very Jerric entrance into Riften. I had to shut the door so I wouldn’t wake my family up laughing. And he lit the oil he was standing in! You know him well.
These screens are great! It’s so neat to see him in your game. I love his cloak. With Darnand is my favorite, but his WTF face made me laugh out loud! ![]()
Rosa, I will take another crack at FO3 someday. My first attempt was mostly running around looking for the door.
Character advice will be most appreciated!
Hollow, does Kayla use a particular Standing Stone? Does she use Smithing or healing spells?
I’ve spent some more time with KC’s Aravi, mostly conducting Dawnguard business. She finally convinced Kharjo to wear his Dawnguard heavy armor.
I’ll take a picture as soon as the sun comes out in her game. It’s been rainy lately. Also did I mention the giant attack? She and Kharjo came up behind it as the giant was walking up toward Aravi Manor. She nailed it with a paralysis poisoned arrow and then ran up and jumped all over it with her blades. I’m not sure if Kharjo had time for even one shot. Do NOT mess with Aravi’s chickens!!
@Elisabeth: Do you play her as a vampire? I really want a reason to play a vampire character.
@Grits:
Glad you are enjoying her.
I might actually mod Mercutio to look like Darnand and then rename him too.
I do not, actually. I don't mind if you do, though.

Killing for sadistic pleasure is, as she considers it, the work of degenerate fools. Doesn't mean she will be rude to people. Whatever she gain my charm alone, she uses it. When facing enemies, however, she'll utterly destroy them.
-Will not associate with any other Daedric Prince except Molag Bal and Clavicus Vile. That means NO Meridia. What. So. Ever.
-Occasionally feeds without being caught. If she starves herself, she won't go near a city until she's satisfied.
-Uses fire spells, but loves to use lightning in all forms.
-Hunts both Dawnguard and any other enemy vampires.
-Diet consists only of human flesh, hearts, and blood potions and at times, venison.
More info on Raven can be found http://bethesdaocg.wikia.com/wiki/Raven_Meridius.
Body info: Eh . . . . I . . .should remake her! The old Raven looked 100% true to the artwork of her, but I tried remaking her after Dawnguard DLC sort of messed her image and made her into a rather frightening vampire, which she is, but only at the heart ![]()
If only I took pics of her older self.
Can you make the pics a link? :/ It's messing up my screen.
Jerric's been in Riften for a while now and I think he's almost ready to head back up to Whiterun. Jerric bailed a stable hand out of debt with a thief, closed down a skooma operation, and collected a bounty in addition to a couple of random dungeons. He found a troll skull. I've never had a character so loaded down with stuff as Jerric is.
He found a Dwemer war axe. Is that something he'd use? I remember reading that he likes steel.
He is a curious Nord. Things do tend to accumulate. I shudder to think of him turned loose with a Bag of Holding. There would be no clutter left in the world.
He would definitely use the Dwemer axe for a while if only to compare its merits to his beloved steel (and silver). He’s never felt that sort of mystical connection to a weapon that you sometimes read about. He has that feeling about his shield.
He also tries out Falmer and Forsworn weapons when he gets his hands on them. He likes to understand the tools his enemies use against him.
Thanks for the update, KC!
Is there a way to get a Solitude shield without picking one off of a dead guy?
Steal it from a live one?
This is Jerric so no. I was just wondering if there was a way to get one as a reward or something. If not, I'll just have Jerric take a trip up to Solitude and buy an iron shield, and then put a Solitude shield in his inventory with console commands.
That's true...
Don't you get a shield of Solitude when you complete the Potema quest?
The one he has in his and Darnand’s games is the Shield of Solitude, the reward for doing the Potema quests for Jarl Elisif and Falk Firebeard. You have to be at least level 10 to start them. I don’t remember why he went to the Blue Palace and found out about the problem, but it was quite late in his game. Social calls on the Jarl aren’t generally on his list. He was probably looking for a spell from the court wizard or something.
Also apparently Captain Aldis has an unenchanted one in his inventory, so it can be pickpocketed without the Perfect Touch perk. Too bad Lildereth isn’t with them, lol.
I couldn’t figure out how to get one other than the quests since most dead Solitude guards come from dragons or vampire attacks, both absent in his game.
EDIT: I guess I took a long time with the post window open.
You're right, he would not steal one even if they left it lying around for him to see from his prison cell.
Jerric's funny :]
My husband told me that putting scars on Kayla ruined her face.
My husband became every male Kayla has encountered in her lifetime with one sentence. He doesn't understand why I'm upset with him. XD
Aravi and Kharjo are still in the Reach. They’ve had some adventures.
First I have to tell you about the Lover Stone part 2. I saved and went to bed after they killed the vampires. So when I started up again it was time to leave the area.
Aravi went straight down. In case anyone doesn’t remember that spot it’s a long, vertical waterfall. Not near vertical. It’s really just straight down.
Aravi was not bothered at all. Apparently those tiny little bumps on the sides of cliffs look like an escalator to Khajiit. She didn’t take a single point of damage, just hopped her way down and onto the bridge.
Excuse me while I wipe my hands. My palms are sweaty just remembering.
Then they took a wrong turn and ended up in Karthwasten. That little adventure went just like it did in her video. “Give me a reason not to put a dagger in your chest,” says the idiot. Moments later Aravi pulls her sword out of his.
Outside they had a brief exchange with the landowner. Then a blood dragon attacked. Aravi is now using an Elven bow, leather bracers of Awesome Archery (or something, it’s a big marksman bonus) and has made some excellent poisons from the ingredients in her greenhouse. The dragon was down very quickly. The only casualty was the landowner himself. He didn’t want to take on the Silver-Blood mercenaries that closed his mine, but it must have seemed like a good idea to attack a blood dragon with a steel dagger. Luckily he had already given A&K their reward.
By that time they were carrying a load of junk so they headed back to Markarth. Their evening arrival caused no vampire attack, but then they entered the Silver-Blood Inn.
A crazy guy came out of nowhere and attacked Aravi. Kharjo stepped up and instantly flattened him. Aravi had a WTF moment. Everyone at the inn went back to their business, stepping around the fresh corpse.
It was a Silver-Blood mercenary. Aravi and Kharjo killed all of the ones that joined the scuffle in the mine, but they didn’t explore the whole place afterward. (I remember why Aravi does not enjoy mines.) I guess if there are any left after their boss is killed they must head back to Markarth. That was a new one for me.
A&K are presently heading toward Lost Valley Redoubt. I’m really looking forward to this.
Oh, also the carriage driver at Aravi Manor is a hothead. (I couldn’t remember if she has a carriage, but she is protective of her animals so I thought another pair of eyes out there would be better. To shout ‘help’ and the like when danger approached from that side.) The last time they went home there was a wolf attack.
Aravi really couldn’t do much because her horse and some crazy Nord were dominating the front yard battlefield and she was worried that she’d accidentally kill her own chickens. After the Nord stopped screaming insults at the dead wolves he calmly walked over and climbed back up on the carriage. Wow.
And here’s an update from Elisabeth’s Kayla.
First, http://imgur.com/3KR8TkD and http://imgur.com/JgC3BhE.
We’ve gotten some business taken care of and had a blast in the process. I love a spellsword, and a smokin’ hot high elf spellsword is extra fun.
I think I can see where some of Kayla’s dating issues come from, but please correct my wrongness. For one she’s bigger than most people and it seems that she gets a lot of stares. She does not feel comfortable around dainty women like, say, Ysolda. Now that she is sporting her gear (Savior’s Hide, Shrouded Gloves, Shrouded Boots) there is a great deal of Kayla showing. The woman has legs up to here! So more stares, but she has scars on her face so maybe they’re looking at her scars in a negative way instead of her obvious (but perhaps not obvious to her) gorgeousness.
Kayla now has her husband living at Breezehome with her buddy Lydia never more than a few steps away. She now carries Dawnbreaker along with the Blade of Woe. I’m not sure if she uses the Blade of Woe in her game, but it’s saved her life a few times when she’s run out of potions.
We tackled Meridia’s quest at a very low level, I think maybe 13 (recommended 24). Kayla was using a silver sword, fire runes/flames (I can’t hit a thing with Firebolts, sorry Kayla), and her armor rating was a little under 100. (I got her the Lord Stone because we were having trouble with melee only once she used up her magicka. Ouch.)
Anyway it was not easy going, but Kayla is one tough elf lady. She was awesome at getting the corrupted shades to follow her back into corridors where she could nail multiple ones with her fire runes and then silver-sword the survivors. Then she would spend a few minutes recovering before she headed into the next section.
Then we got to the necromancer. Holy crap. ONE ice spike, over.
OK, let’s try again. I turned the difficulty down because frankly I put her in this position way too soon and there was just no way trying harder was going to make enough of a difference. She used her Altmer smarts to lure the shades back where she could get them without being surrounded, and then she used those mile-long legs to chase down Malkoran and deliver Meridia’s message. It was still a close fight, but she did it.
Thanks for the blade, Meridia. Now do you think you could be a little less of a bitch to your followers? Sheesh.
So now Kayla is fully geared up and ready for some vampire hunting. I’m pretty psyched to see what she can do with Dawnbreaker. She has great mobility with light armor and only two weapons, plus she’s never very encumbered because she uses up her potions. Fire runes are great fun. Stuff flies into the air when they blow up.
Has she ever used a flame cloak? That’s another thing that using followers keeps me from doing, but Kayla hunts alone.
Also I think we’re going to have to advance the College of Winterhold questline a little. Her man Onmund is a big whiner and not really worthy of such a warrior woman as Kayla the way he’s behaving right now. Kayla comes home half-starved, exhausted, and covered in undead junk and her beloved wants to scold her about Saarthal. Hmm, how did he die in Kayla’s game? Just asking. ![]()
It's okay, she uses firebolt when she KNOWS she can hit them, lol
Something I must add to Jerric's Riften adventures:
He buys a room at the Bee and Barb. Then one of the other patrons tells him,
"You should stay at the Bee and Barb. The Bunkhouse isn't for you."
Needless to say, he didn't use his room at the Bee and Barb that night.
ROFL! Check his pockets for a Mark of Dibella.
Since I have the day off, I tried the wife swapping a bit.

KC, do you use any mods for Aravi's appearance? What about that fur bikini she often wears? Is that an underwear replacer?
She looks great!
I do use several mods for Aravi. How much you decide to do is up to you.
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/5941/ for the face.
I use a leopard texture for her body http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23119/or http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/7690/. I think this will change every Khajiit unless you use http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13712/.
Her top is in http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/20415/, and the fur skirt is in http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18008/
Or if you'd rather skip those hefty downloads for 2 pieces of clothing for Aravi, she also wears the barbarian armor in http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19733/ Note that it adds those armors to leveled lists.
Thanks. I installed Cover Khajiit and the snow leopard body textures. I am getting a pretty pronounced neckseam between them though. Do you have that too?
Aravi teamed up with Faendal to take on the bandits of Embershard Mine. Being that Aravi is the type to hang back, he really was not that useful. So she parted ways with him back at Riverwood. Now she is at the front door of Bleak Falls Barrow, looking for Lucan's Claw.
http://i.imgur.com/uQJY9eQ.jpg

In the CBBE body texture link, under miscellaneous, there is a file you can download to fix the seam. It does require a little bit of photoshopping, but it's simple. When you save the file again, save it so that the resulting file is about ~20MB, otherwise there will be a lot of detail loss.
I think I used some new eye textures too, but I cannot think of the mod, and I am away from my desktop.
