Let's continue the show (even though there are fewer of us now than when we started....)

Green-Root.

Green-Root had not looked towards Ian yet. He knew he was taking a risk, but keeping his eyes on one vampire was hard enough already. Right now, the Vampire was trying to push Rann to the ground with his vampiric strenght.
,,Let's see how well you fight without that cursed blade!" The Argonian hissed and stabbed directly at the longsword which was locked with Rann's blade. Just before the two weapons collided, he called upon the power hidden within his spear and watched how it began to change its shape, turning into lethal Daedric.

The demonic tip crashed through the longsword as if the steel was mere paper. The blade flew away into the bushes somewhere, leaving the vampire with only the hilt. Green-Root made use of the surprise by swinging his spear down and cutting into the vampire's leg.
,,Now, Rann! Take that thing down!"

Patholos, in the fray

Patholos worried about the noises he kept hearing. It sounded like shouting, and every now and then he heard a sick squishing sound, accompanied by a cry of pain. Patholos crept out from the underbrush and saw a vampire fighting vampires. Patholos then realized that the lone vampire was Ian, the vampire he had met earlier. Patholos observed the wounds that Ian had sustained, and was about to help, when he remebered that he was weak and not a fighter. Patholos then made up his mind.

Yelling anything that came to his mind, Patholos jumped from the bushes and ran right through the fight, yelling and screaming. He jumped and danced and hollered, then sat down on a rock, a few meters away.

"Come on you scum, come get some dinner!" Patholos yelled with his back turned to the undead. Hopefully I can draw their attention away from Ian so he can heal up or help the others...., Patholos thought. Here goes.....

Rann

The vampire stumbled a bit as he cried out in agony, still clutching his broken sword. Rann took the opportunity to slash his opponents midsection, spilling undead entrails onto the ground.

The vampire fell on its knees, clutching his stomach.

Rann kicked the vampire to the ground and finished his grim deed by driving his katana through the vampire's heart.

"You can handle this one, right?" he asked Green-Root, referring to the remaining vampire. He didn't wait for a reply, as he assumed the answer was yes, and ran towards the place where Ian lay. Ian's attackers were running towards Patholos, not noticing him.

Patholos, being pursued

Patholos was relieved that the vampires had chosen to pursue himself instead of Ian. Patholos decided that the undead he was facing were much too much for his combative skill. Patholos then had an idea. He took off runnning towards his enchanted area of the woods. It looked as if one of the vampires was going to follow him and the rest were going to stay prowling around by Ian. It looked as if they were going to use wounded Ian as bait to kill the rest of the group. With a shrug, Patholos quaffed an invisibility potion that he had been saving for months. Light began to bend around him as he stalked around behind the vampire that had followed him into the woods. The vampire called out, "I know where you are, I can smell your pulse..." The vampire licked his lips and started to sniff. Patholos, deciding to act quickly and return to the fight, readied his dagger and threw it with practiced deadliness. The last thing that vampire saw was a bright green blade protruding from its chest. The vampire began to die, and Patholos strode over and kissed the creature on the forehead.

"Say hello to the Dread Father, Creature of Sithis!" And then Patholos violently snapped its neck.

Green-Root.

,,I was going to say no." Green-Root grumbled but Rann had already left. The Vampire glared at him hatefully. The Argonian bared his teeth in return.
,,I'm sure you've seen Daedric before. Know what it does? It cuts you in two like knife through butter." He hissed with more confidence than he actually felt.

The vampire glanced at the rising sun, then back at Green-Root.
,,Enjoy the day, lizard! It could be your last. Next time we meet, I'll drink your blood." He threatened and vanished. Green-Root set down his spear beside him and shrugged.
,,If you're so sure of your victory, you wouldn't run now. Bad bluffing on your part, good bluffing on mine."

Flint Ironwood.

,,Now that was a nice chap, especially for an Orc. Restore Magicka, restore fatigue and several healing potions. They taste bad, but I sure can't complain about the results." Flint thought happily. In the distance, he could make out the lights of Chorrol, steadily growing closer.

Rann

Rann knelt beside Ian and shook him gently, trying to wake him up.

"Ian, are you alright? Get up."

He also kept an eye on the vampire that was on the ground beside Ian. It obviously wasn't dead, but it's flesh was sizzling in the sunlight. He kept trying to wake Ian, all the while wondering what the point of attacking the vampires had been when there may have been a chance of Akavirian loot.

In order to make this worth it, this vampire here had better have some damn good information.

Patholos, emerging from the forest

Patholos watched as the body of the recent adversary began to turn to ash. Patholos removed his dagger from the burning corpse and noticed a satchel around the waist of the burning body. Patholos removed it and started to search through it. He found bits and pieces of goblins. They must be feeding on anything they can get their hands on, Patholos said. He searched around a bit more and uncovered a secret pouch in the sack. He found three small vials. Uncorking the vials, he smelled the metallic smell of blood. Laughing quietly, he put the vials in the sack and walked back to the clearing where the fight had occurred.

When Patholos arrived, he found Rann crouched over Ian and Patholos worried.
"It seems that the vampires were willingly starving themselves to gain an edge in battle," Patholos said. He tossed the satchel to the ground. "In there is human blood, or what i think is human blood," Patholos said without pause, then hurriedly said, "I want you to save that man, Dunmer, save him." Patholos stared at Ian with those pupiless eyes, and he bent down and laid a hand on Ian's chest.

Posted by: Dantrag Apr 12 2007, 12:54 AM

Rann

Rann quickly went through the satchel and came out with two vials of blood. He propped the unconscious Ian up and pulled the cork from the vial of blood with his teeth.

"Wake up and drink it," he said, waving the bottle in his face, hoping the smell would wake him. He didn't think he could make an unconscious person swallow, but if Ian didn't come to soon, he was willing to try.

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 12 2007, 03:26 AM

Ian, waking up

His senses returned as the acrid smell of blood rann down his nose. Ian blinked his glazed red eyes. It took several moments before the haze cleared up enough to to realize Rann was waving a vial of blood in his face.

Ian lifted a shaky hand to grasp the bottle of precious life giving fluid. His nearly gagged as it washed down his throat. He muttered, "Nice to see you went through the trouble to get fresh blood...." Ian tried to lift himself up, but the gash down his back stopped him.

"I.... I don't think I can walk, how bad is the wound?"

Posted by: Dantrag Apr 12 2007, 03:31 AM

Rann

Rann glanced around Ian's back to take a look at the wound. "Uh...let's not talk about that."

"Here, drink another, I hear it helps your kind," he said, handing Ian the next bottle of blood, already uncorked for him.

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 12 2007, 04:13 AM

Ian

Drinking the other bottle, clarity began to return to him. Ian now registered a dull throbbing pain along his back. Ignoring the discomfort, he looked around, noting Patholos and Green-Root. "It would seem I made a grave error in judgement." The vampire muttered dryly.

"Well, if the Quarra act outside of combat the same way the do inside, they'll be too proud to confess fighting and dying against us to their master. At least for the moment...." Color returned to his face, and he moved without shaking as dramaticly.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 12 2007, 12:33 PM

Patholos, with the group

"Ian, Rann, Green-root, I might be mistaken, but aren't vampires severly alergic to the sun? Ian, we better move to the treeline or that cave Green-Root was in, else you might become ash." Patholos stared off at the horizon, now looming up over the rolling hills. "Haste is of utter importance I fear...."

Posted by: jack cloudy Apr 12 2007, 05:34 PM

Green-Root.

The Argonian bent down and reached for Ian.
,,I don't suggest the cave. It just happens to be right in the middle of that army and so I don't think it would be ideal as a hiding place. Think you can stand with our help? We'll get you back to camp."

Posted by: Dantrag Apr 12 2007, 09:20 PM

Rann

"You two take him back," he said, "I'm going to try to make this trip worth something."

He still didn't get why they attacked the vampires, and he figured the others were going to get to work interrogating the unconscious, but still very alive, vampire that Ian had been fighting, so he took it upon himself to fulfill their original plan; get some good loot.

"I'll be back soon; don't forget that one," he said, pointing to the sizzling vampire.

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Apr 13 2007, 01:01 AM

Flogir

With dawn shortly approaching, Flogir decided to prepare the camp for travel, or in other words, he was taking it down. After a cold breakfast he began rolling up sleeping bags and dismantling temporary shelters.

Stuffing the last article into his pack, Flogir stared up at the sky. A slight pang of doubt struck him. Why aren't they back yet? he thought. Did they run into any trouble? Were they caputured?

Curiosity got the better of him. "I'll be back shortly, don't follow me," he told the others still around before heading in the last direction he saw Rann's party go off.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 13 2007, 02:11 AM

Patholos, with Green-Root and Ian

Patholos stared at Green-Root and Ian. He thought to himself, "They can get back to camp, I should take this prisoner." He then said to the pair, "You to go on ahead, I take this one back myself. There are methods my Brotherhood taught me that some people might not deem, how you say, humane? Leastwise, I might need another Drain Fatigue Potion, if she decides that she has the courage to get up."

Waiting for a response, Patholos noticed the vampire stir, and he quickly bound the vampire with his rope belt. "I don't believe this will hold her, does anyone know some sort of Calm Humanoid Spell that would "keep her quiet" for the trip?"

As he said the last bit to the pair, Patholos bent down and whispered in the female undead's ear.
"Do you still feel pain, Creature? Are there still feeling under that dead flesh?" With the last word he bit the cheek of the vampire, causing her to cry out in pain. Patholos laughed a sadistic, evil laugh and then said,
"Ha! You taste better than the last one!" Turning away from the vampire, Patholos smiled. He knew he was in the female vampire's head, and he could feel fear coming from the vampire.

Posted by: Dantrag Apr 13 2007, 03:16 AM

Rann

Rann stuck around long enough to see Patholos begin his gruesome work on the female vampire. It lessesned his already low opinion of the Dark Brotherhood assassin. He didn't stop him though, and hoped he wasn't just as bad for it.

"I'll be back," he reiterated, but it carried a second meaning this time; he had a score to settle with Patholos.

He began walking towards the mass of snake people, unsure of how he was to get in and steal something, but he was determined to try nonetheless. He didn't understand why, though, as he had earlier been against the idea.

Maybe I just want some kind of gain from all this. All we've got so far is a wounded Ian.

He hadn't walked far before he saw Flogir out of the corner of his eye, heading towards Ian, Green-Root, and Patholos.

Hopefully Flogir's reason will slow down Patholos's madness.

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 13 2007, 03:33 AM

Ian

"I think I can walk, I'll just need someone to take the pressure off my back." He watched Rann depart, picking up his hidden meaning. It's unnecessary, but someone needs to to show Patholos the length of his leash.....

While Ian didn't see Patholos as treacherous, it was clear to all how unstable the priest appeared. As both Dunmer went their seprate ways for the time being, he noticed he was left with Green-Root. The agent didn't feel entirely comfortable around the killer who was motivated mostly by self-interest, but as he saw it, the Argonian was better companion to be alone with then Patholos.

Flogir's presence was only known to him when Ian heard the Nord's boots thump across the dusty ground. Finally someone who isn't a potential danger, Ian thought to himself.

Posted by: Dantrag Apr 13 2007, 04:24 AM

Rann

Rann stuck to the treeline as he walked on for less than a minute, staying invisible to the thousands of eyes of snake-men. He stopped focusing on finding a way in for two reasons. One, it was impossible to do without dying in a matter of seconds, and two, his mind was on Patholos and his treatment of the vampire. The image of Patholos biting the woman's cheek ran through his head.

I can't leave it up to Flogir.

He immediately turned back, knowing his conscience wouldn't allow him otherwise. Advancing on Patholos without a word to anyone, he interrupted the 'inhumane' interrogation by putting his blade to Patholos's throat.

"Give me a reason not to kill you right now."

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Apr 13 2007, 05:57 AM

Flogir

Flogir knew something was up when he saw Patholos, Ian, and Green-Root with a tied up woman. At first, Flogir was curious on how Patholos was even there but that immediately changed when he realized that the captured woman was sizzling in the approaching daylight.

"You captured a vampire!?" he hissed in a stunned way, "I thought you were going to attack their supply lines or something? And where's Rann?"

But before any of his questions were answered, Rann appeared with a knife to Patholos' throat. It appeared that their previous fight had yet to be settled and things were turning into a dangerous situation.

"Rann! This is not the time to do this!" he whispered harshly, "We got a horde of enemies just over that hill, and for some reason we have a vampire that's going to burst into flame any minute! Can we at least find some cover."

Flogir hoped that what he said to Rann made him sound only mad about the timing, not the fact that he appeared to be ready to kill Patholos. Out in the outskirts of the forest was not an ideal place to hold a vampire who can't survive in the sunlight or have a possible murder.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 13 2007, 12:39 PM

Patholos, under pressure

"Do it! Do IT! Kill me now, you s'wit! Have you the courage?" Patholos spat at Rann, still frozen in place by the knife at his throat.

"Please, please, kill me, I do not want this place as home any longer. But, before you do, answer me this," Patholos whispered to Rann. "Have you ever felt something is right, even though others around you say it is wrong?"

Patholos waited, and he tensed up in anticipation. After a few seconds, Patholos relaxed, and put his hand on Rann's hand. "If you are going to kill me, know that my blood is on both of our hands."

Then Patholos said to Rann in a voice that only Rann could hear, "Kill me, murderer..."

Posted by: jack cloudy Apr 13 2007, 02:50 PM

Green-Root.

Green-Root looked at the scene and after a moment, he picked up the wounded vampire and began to move towards a place with a bit more shade.
,,Are there any of those blood bottles left?" He hissed.

,,Let those two. They'll keep doing this till the time no one is around to stop them. Better to finish this now than to cope with it." He grunted to Flogir and shifted the load on his back.
,,Help Ian, Nord."

At Chorrol, guess who.

Glass shattered and someone dressed in black came down from the ceiling, landing mere steps away from the throne. Guards all around him drew their weapons with the common shout. ,,Dark Brotherhood! Protect the Countess!"

,,Ah, crap. I'm beginning to hate this costume."
Flint threw his hands up in the air, as far away from his blades as possible.
,,Hold up! Ian sent me! Agent type, young Altmer called Issac tagging along?" He shouted. The Countess motioned to the guards to lower their swords, much to the old Breton's relief.
,,I know Ian, and Issac. I also remember you. You were with them, that day. What does Ian request of me?"

,,Wew, much better. Flint Ironwood, aerial messenger. At your service. Now here's the message. Over a thousand Akaviri have gathered at the Valus mountains, led by some semi-immortal creature. Ian requests the aid of Tamriel's military might to counter this threat. Suffice to say, just Cyrodiil's army alone won't be enough."

(Dantrag, do you want to take control over the countess again?)

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Apr 13 2007, 07:42 PM

Flogir

Patholos' encouragement to Rann didn't help to ease the tension of the situation. Green-Root at least was responding well for a least a part of his rant by taking the vampire into the shade. The bad part was that Rann had yet removed the blade from Patholos' throat.

Clenching his teeth in frustration, gave Ian his should to support his weight onto him. He grimanced as he felt the sticky blood cling to his tunic. He turned to the two mer once again.

"Rann, bring him with us, we can't do this here; drag him if you must!" he hissed angrily before trudging Ian into the depths of the forest. There would be enough shade there that the vampire wouldn't burn up and the dense trees would hopefully muffle any sound that would be created. He looked back to see if anyone was following him.

Posted by: Dantrag Apr 14 2007, 04:13 AM

Rann

Rann lowered his blade long enough to push Patholos out of his way.

"We'll settle this later," he said flatly as he scooped up the vampire in his arms and began carrying her back to their camp.

She was quite pretty, as far as vampires were concerned, and despite being an enemy a few moments earlier, he didn't think she deserved such treatment. The fact that she was a vampire alone wouldn't convince him of her 'evil' if there even was such a thing. The only other vampires he had met were Ian and Sadril, and they hadn't been half bad.

He stopped where Flogir did and gently laid the female vampire down. He sat himself beside her, blade unsheathed by his side.

"If he tries to touch her, he's dead." he explained coolly to Flogir.

"Anyway, what's the plan now? I thought we were getting supplies, but we ended up with an injured friend and an injured enemy. We're worse off than we were before."

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Apr 14 2007, 04:33 AM

Flogir

Flogir stood in the shade of the forest. He was glad that the situation between Rann and Patholos was being set aside for now. He scratched at his unshaven stubble as he thought over Rann's question.

"Yea, that didn't turn out for the best, and if we can't even do that properly, how can we expect to utilize guerilla war tactics to harrass the enemy?" he said in an annoyed fashion. He turned and faced Rann, concern evident, "If we do things properly, do you think we can sneak in and take out the Silhouette? Or are we going to follow them until Flint gets back with reinforcement? Because really, that's the only two options I can think of..."

His voice trailed off and Flogir stared off into the distance, a lost expression on his face.

Is this the ineviatble? Are we merely just clinging to our last options before our extermination?

His eye fell onto the vampire. "Perhaps she has some information about the layout of their camp that we could take advantage of. We might need to make her talk," he looked back to see Patholos heading their way. "I'll make sure he's not the one to do it though," he added out of the albino's earshot.

Patholos, left behind

Patholos watched as the group took off away from where Ian was. He stood there for a moment, then a twisted smile came over his face. Patholos turned his back to the group and his eyes flared red, changing what was once white into crimson. His lips curled back and his teeth grew exposed. Muscles in his bodies tensed and the cords holding them tightened. Patholos muttered a spell that had been kept secret by his Order. Sithis has not yet abandoned me, Patholos' broken mind thought. As he receded into madness, Patholos cast his Shadow Curse on his person.

Patholos began to twist and pulsate, then he disappeared from view. He snuck behind some trees and cast Invisibility on his dagger. After he activated the dagger's Paralysis enchantment with is own blood, he tied a note to his hilt, one he had prepared while he was in the forest. The thing was, the "sane" Patholos had written a note, not this new beast. The insane Patholos did not realize what the note was, but a voice in the back of his head said to attach it.

With extreme precision, Patholos hefted the dagger, and aimed it at Rann's head. At the moment of release, however, he broke concentration and the dagger buried itself in a tree right next to Rann.

(This is what the note said)

Rann, if you are the first to read this, I apologize for my actions. If this is not Rann who is reading this, then please tell him thus. Please, take heed of what I tell you. I am losing control of my mind. Sithis' spirit is taking away my personality, and it was because I drank the Ichor of Sithis. If you must kill the monstrosity I am becoming, so be it. I would like to find out what has become of my friend Darcretius, but, if I must die because of my madness, then finish me off. I cannot control what I do, and, sadly, I feel guilt already. Live and prosper, ....

(the rest is illegible)

Green-Root.

Rann unceremoniously took the vampire from Green-Root's back. The Argonian shrugged and followed closely behind the group. He sat down with them at their temporary hide-out and put down his spear.
,,First of all, I'd suggest the interrogation, fixing up Ian and solving your mess with that bloodsucking non-vampire called Patholos." He hissed and looked at their hostage closely.

He took up his spear again and levelled it at her throat.
,,Just in case she tries something. I'm not in the mood for another fight or anything." A moment after he'd said that, a dagger swooshed through the air and dug into a tree, narrowly missing Rann.
,,Change of priorities. Solving the mess with Patholos now comes first."

(Sorry, but Green-Root was already carrying the hostage. I think this fixes the plothole elegantly enough. smile.gif )

Rann

He had been about to answer Flogir, but jumped in surprise when a dagger hit the tree he was sitting by. He snatched the dagger and had been about to pocket it, but saaw that there was a note attached. He took the note off and stuck the dagger in his belt before reading it aloud.

"He's asking us to kill him, why not oblige him?"

THe bastarde deserves it.

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Apr 14 2007, 11:24 PM

Flogir

"Whose asking to get killed?" Flogir asked as he snatched the note away and looked at it. He scoffed.

"Damn, is this serious? I knew he was a little out of reality, but this just makes him seem just plain ole bonkers!"

Flogir contemplated on the situation briefly. Could they help him? It seemed unlikely. Perhaps giving him the mercy of death was the best thing they could do.

Flogir nodded. "Yes, we'll oblige him," he replied in a heavy voice.

Patholos, what once was Patholos

Extreme nausea passed over him again, and he retched a dry stomach onto the dirt. His eyes were coals from Red Mountain, and he tossed and turned in his little alcove he found in the side of the mountain. All of the sudden, every one of the people he had murdered, every evil he committed was shown in an instant. Patholos wished to cry out, but he knew he would be slain if he did so.

After a fitful bout of unconsciousness, Patholos awoke to the Avatar of Sithis. The Avatar spoke in a voice like thunder, "Come, lets take a walk." Patholos replied." Is this a dream, am I awake?" Patholos almost gasped as the Dumner skin he once had coated his body. He looked into a rockpool and saw that his eyes were back to their original color. "What has happened?"

The Avatar took Patholos down the hill, and Patholos saw all the members of the camp as if they were in a dream. The Avatar said, "Look at these mortals, My Child, look at how they waste away." Patholos saw all the members of the camp start to age rapidly, then turn to ash. The only people who did not die were Ian and the female vampire, but they looked hollow and dry. Then the Avatar spoke again, "There is one who will bring Glory to me, and Glory to my name, you must make a choice. Do you know of whom I speak?" Patholos replied, "I have heard of this servant, the Silhouette, must I follow him?"

The Avatar laughed and then spoke, "You will retain this current state, and will be blessed as my right hand if you follow this Servant. Or, you can die on this Mundus and your ashes will be forever forgotten, and your ailments will pain you until your release. Make a choice, My Child."

Patholos awoke, already he had made his choice.

"So be it..." A voice on the wind said, and Patholos strode out of the alcove, eyes as white as a virgin snow.

Posted by: Dantrag Apr 15 2007, 03:03 AM

Rann

"We've lost focus enough," he decided then, "I won't go out of my way to kill him, but if we happen to see him while we try to solve this Silhouette problem..."

He looked to the female vampire on the ground. She still looked somewhat in shock both from the unexpected sunlight exposure and from Patholos's display of cruelty.

"Want to tell us anything?" he asked, holding his arm out as if to allow her a drink of his blood to help her healing process. She leaned forward eagerly with fangs exposed, but Rann moved his arm away.

"I'm not going to hurt you, but I'm not going to help you for free, either. We need information. What do you know of the Silhouette?"

Countess Valga

"I want a full report before I send you even one soldier to die in those mountains," she said, "What did you find out about the threat, and how did anything from Akavir end up here?"

She leaned back in her chair, waiting for Flint's story.

OOC: She doesn't know anything that the group has found out.

Ian

Lying propped against a rock, Ian had kept his eyes shut and breathing deeply as if asleep, listening to the others talk. Patholos' flying dagger caused him to finally open his eyes to see if it had caused harm. Seeing Rann's response to the letter answered everything.

Ian watched as the dunmer began to work with the female vampire. Nodding silently at Rann's sound methods. Best not to appear hostile, but not freely giving good will. He'll do fine.... Ian thought as he closed his eyes to rest.

Posted by: Dantrag Apr 15 2007, 06:00 AM

Aerona

Her mind was a fog after her incident with Patholos. She had been so terrified that she only vaguely remembered the fact that this 'Rann' fellow had somewhat protected her, and it took her a few moments to even recognize the face in front of her.

Then he offered his arm as if to allow her to feed and then pulled it away, demanding information.

Is he trustworthy or not? On the one hand he helped me, on the other...

"What do you want to know?" she asked. Her voice sounded raspy and weak.

Rann

Rann stroked his chin, then, unable to think of a question. He knew next to nothing about war strategies and things associated with them. He was more used to finding the stealthiest way into a building, or finding out the whereabouts of his targets than he was finding out the weakness in a large army.

"This seems more down your alley, Ian," he said, "You ask the questions and then I'll give her some blood."

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 15 2007, 06:31 AM

Ian

Reluctantly the vampire opened his eyes when Rann asked him to question the other vampire. Ian glared at Rann for a few moments, You get sliced along the back and the work still doesn't change pace.... Gripping his leg to haul himself from his reclining position, Ian sat in a sitting position, straight to releave stress from his back.

At first Ian did not ask immediately, he decided not to go about this in the same manner he normally would have. The point isn't getting the girl to break, it's only to get the information necessary. Ian stared into her white eyes with his own bleached-brown eyes, the owund she'd inflicted during the fighting was just visible as it started at his shoulder.

"We are looking into the Silhoute and its army," he began. "That same army is hell-bent on marching across Tamriel. These mountains and the cities already razed are only the beginning. Millions of people, men, women, and children, will be slaughtered before they finally achieve victory."

The point of this statement was simply to appeal to what morality he suspected lay inside this woman. "We aren't going to let that happen, not without making their goals difficult to attain."
Ian paused briefly, then added. "Those vampires that were with you, the Quarra, they are dead, or that one ran back to the Silhoute. What we need from you, ma'am, is information on that army: weapons, patrolled areas, and places to attack from and dissappear."

The agent/vampire finished, "Whether you just want personal gain or to actually help save hundreds of thousands of lives is up to you, but it is in your best interests to help us destroy that abomination and its followers before they cause further destruction."

Patholos, in the woods not far off

Patholos walked along the woodpath near the camp. As he walked, he noticed a change in the texture of the land. His eyes began to water as Patholos walked towards the last spot he had seen the group and that undead creature. Fearing that he was going blind, Patholos put a strip of cloth around his eyes to try and stop the pain. What happend instead was that the pain increased, and then a startling discovery frightened Patholos. He could see whether his eyes were open or closed. And what he could see was even more frightening. He could see things as they died, wasting away before him.

Patholos cried out, "SITHIS, WHY?!" There was no answer from the Dread Father, and Patholos fell over and wept. The cloth around his eyes became sodden and he crawled towards the group interrogating the undead.
With a mournful voice, and a pleading face, Patholos cried, "Help...me...please...help..." Patholos trailed off as he collapsed in front of Flogir.

Flogir

Flogir was absorbed in watching the interrogation between Rann, Ian, and their vampire captive. For some reason, Flogir felt that this vampire was fairly young, mainly from the nervous nature she exuded. Of course, he could be fooling himself. This vampire could be much older than he was, since vampires did not age.

Being a former soldier, Flogir was actually impressed with Ian's interrogation methods. He was asking the right questions that were needed in times of war.

It was then that a shout was heard nearby. Flogir turned to the sound and saw Patholos crawling towards him, begging for his help. The pitiful creature collapsed before his feet.

"Ummmm..." Flogir said hesitantly, "What are we going to do with him?"

Aerona

"I...don't know much anymore," she admitted, "If you had asked me a few days ago, before those snake-people showed up...they took over everything...that's why we were pushed to the outskirts; the Silhouette preferred to be with his own kind..."

She writhed in agony the whole time, since her body lacked the nourishment to heal itself as it should. She had starved herself of blood for too long.

Rann

Rann couldn't handle it anymore, he couldn't explain it, but he felt sorry for their captive. He held out his arm for her to feed.

"Promise not to make me a bloodsucker?"

She nodded and Rann winced a little as she drank eagerly, but not too deeply from his arm. As she did so, Patholos reappeared.

Rann took his arm away and was surprised that it wasn't bleeding. The only trace of the feeding was two small teeth marks.

"What do we do with him? Nothing. Just leave him be; he'll die on his own."

Rann found it easier to withhold his hatred for Patholos when he wasn't preaching the word of Sithis or needlessly hurting women.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 16 2007, 12:50 PM

Patholos, near the group

Patholos, dismayed at the fact that Flogir and Green-Root did nothing, even though Green-Root didn't know him that well. Rann, the obvious decision maker of the group, hated Patholos and all he stood for. Why did Patholos ask for pity from a man that had no pity for Patholos?

Patholos asked Rann, in his most steady voice, "Dunmer, we share a heritage," Patholos paused, he couldn't talk for much for than a few seconds because of the pain. "We have a common enemy, my brother,..., and I wish we could put,...,put," Patholos could not finish, because of the pain. Patholos turned his head and the piece of cloth around his eyes fell off. His eye sockets were empty and barren.

"Please, my brother, please...help....me..."

Ian

"Looks like we're back at square one," he muttered silently to himself.

Seeing that the entire show was being run by those snakes Ian saw no reason to attack anytime after morrning.
'Those cold-blooded things are as coordinated as drunks during the morning.'

Ian was displeased by the lack of information that this girl was giving.
'There's no reason to kill her, but I have yet to see a way she can avoid becoming a liability...'

It appeared that Rann trusted this vampire over Patholos. That was perfectly fine, except that this woman hadn't even given her name.

When Patholos showed up Ian hid whatever pity/regret/loathing behind an icy wall of detachment.

Ian gave Rann a look that said "Whatever you intend to do, do it now."

The agent stood despite the protests of his body. Ian strode off, not quite toward the camp.

Serene, not so far away

She had decided to leave for home , but something stopped her. She had watched Satyanaīs change in personality and had a fairly good idea what caused it. So the girl could be a human welding flame if she lost control...Serene shrugged and turned back...slowly, monitoring the surroundings.

She noticed Ian before he noticed her. He was hurt...and she felt sorry for him. Ian was a good man and he obviously needed some help. Itīs harder to heal vampires but she knew she could do it.

"Ian!" she whispered, "Come here lay down and let me help you"

She kneeled beside the lying man and let her voluminous robe hide what she was doing...this healing-act was not meant for anyone to see, it was far too.....special.

Afterwards she sat on her heels smiling faintly. Ian was soundly asleep now, looking pretty ok. She wrapped a piece of cloth around her left arm where two small teeth marks were slowly bleeding. She rearranged her clothing, looking around to make sure nobody was watching. Serene sighed, the thing she did for Ian was something she had performed just one single time before in her life. That time was rather successful considering it was the first time for her, but this act was a true wonder. She slowly shook her head, if the others had known what she had done.....

The important thing however was that Ian would be feeling very good when he wakes up....

Satyana

She had been standing a bit aside from the group, but now she approached

"Guys..." she said in a voice that sounded much darker than before " When are you considering using your secret weapon?" She meant herself of course....and the thing she could do by just uttering a short incantation

Brianna

"Durzogs???" May Azura help us, now we really have gotten ourselves into trouble!"

She took out a piece of parchment and read from it, silently...

I just hope I can do this..if it turns out to be necessary

Green-Root.

,,What secret weapon, girl? Is there something I should know?" He hissed before returning his attention to what he considered more important matters. Patholos.
,,Now are we going to kill that freak or are we going to cure him somehow? He's causing quite a ruckus with all that shouting and crying. And while I'm on the subject, what about the vampire?"

Satyana

She looked sternly at the Argonian..

"Yes Mr Lizzard, you should! I am the secret weapon..."

Kirana would understand...and Serene of course, wherever she is

Flogir

Flogir nearly retched when the empty sockets that were Patholos' eyes were revealed. He had no idea how it happened. For all he knew, the crazy Dunmer could've pulled them out himself. Still, Flogir felt some pity for the loathsome creature. His time with the group had been more troubling than helpful, but it didn't just feel right to leave someone to die. His soldier instincts revolted against such an idea.

"Fellas, I don't think I can just leave him alone here. I say we should at least leave him some provisions. He won't be able to follow us in the state he's in," Flogir suggested.

Satyana then arrived and mentioned a "secret weapon". Like Green-Root, her comment confused him.

"What are you talking about Satyana?"

She answered and Flogir nodded dumbly, he still didn't have a clue as to why she was the secret weapon.

Patholos, on the ground

Patholos, now completely drained of energy, waited to see what the group would do. The problem was, whatever they decided, Patholos couldn't do anything about it. He waited, then turning to Flogir, the only one of the group who showed him compassion, said, "Flogir..., maybe I should,...should join the army of Silhouette,...,act as a mole,...relay information..., the like." As he finished, Patholos struggled to refasten the cloth around his head. His vision showed group members slowly deteriorating, and it made him want to vomit.

Satyana

"i...I have certain powers" she answered silently, blushing

Serene

She decided to stay with Ian until he woke up...just in case

Issac

Having eaten all he needed from the rations, Issac began searching the nearby forest. Flogir, Rann, Ian, Serene, Kirana, Patholos, and Satyana still hadn't returned, so he took it upon himself to find them. After several minutes of making his way through ferns and tree trunks, Issac found most of the missing members forming a cluster.

He had time to hear Satyana refer to herself as a "secret weapon." While the complete meaning eluded him, Issac recalled the sudden chill he'd felt when he got near her, and he had a feeling he knew at least part of what she meant.
Suddenly he was very aware of Kirana leaning against a nearby tree studying him. Issac turned to face his adoptive former mentor and matron. "What is going on?" He asked bluntly.

Kirana gave him an appraising look, then glanced at Satyana a split second of recognition crossed his mother's face, but as emotion usually did it dissappeared as suddenly as it appeared.

Kirana

Looking back at Issac, she realized why he was keenly interested in Satyana. From what she'd seen of the girl, Kirana knew what could be going on. This new found potential in Satyana was still very new, thus the young woman had little experience controlling such abilities.

Kirana didn't want to test how far those powers could be pushed, especially if they were not under control. "Issac," She started. "Keep some distance from Satyana for the time being." Just listen to me

Issac didn't throw her advice back in her face at least. He just raised an eyebrow that said, "you didn't answer my question." The young Altmer however turned and went back the way he'd come.

Aerona

She felt much better, and most of her injuries, from sunlight or otherwise were gone. She still ached though, and it would take a good night's sleep to fully recover.

After feeding on Rann's blood, she immediately went to work making a potion from the ingredients she carried in a small pouch.

"Take this; just in case I accidentally infected you."

Rann

Rann drank the potion and thanked their new vampire companion with a silent nod before immediately turning his attention to this 'secret weapon' business.

"Sis, stop beating around the bush and spill it," he said, a bit skeptic of her 'secret weapon' abilities. It wasn't that he didn't have faith in his sister, it was just that he had never seen Satyana do anything that hinted at any sort of great power.

He ignored Patholos; he had no compassion for him, and decided to go along with whatever the group chose. (Unless of course, he disagreed with what the group chose)

Patholos, near the group (still on the ground)

Patholos saw through his cursed vision the vampire make a cure disease potion. Patholos wondered whether she might make him a potion but quickly thought against it. You tried to torture her, you DOG! Patholos heard a voice yell across the dark chasm that was his mind. A conscience, never had one before, why do I have one now? Patholos thought while laying in the dirt, watching the others move around him. He sat himself upright and leaned against a nearby tree, to try and recover his energy.

He leaned his head over to Flogir, and he waited for a response. While he waited, he thought back to his biological mother, and his few memories of her. As if in a dream, for the first time in his life, Patholos felt disgusted at himself.

OOC: What is the fate of Crazy Patholos???

Karn, scheming, what else? laugh.gif

The ninja had seen everything that had transpired, from the brawl with the Quarra to the pale Dunmer losing his eyes. Perhaps against his better judgement, Karn couldn't pass up an oppertunity to jab a dagger into the group's side.

Sitting in a tree not far from the group, the Dunmer sumaged through his pack. His hand clapsed a tightly sealed vial. Normally he would be hesittent to use such a invaluable tool, but he couldn't resist the chance. Testing the air to make certain it was blowing toward the group, Karn snapped the sap to the vial.
Karn held the vile poison away from himself.

The poison was an inhailant, it had no immediate affect, as did many of Karn favorite tools. The toxin would end up in a victem's lungs, and then, given the proper trigger, become corrosive, destroying the target's ability to breath.
It was odorless, tastless, and had very few early symptoms, a perfect tool for an opportunist..... Just when they thought they only had to worry about a few snakemen and an Akaviri demon.....

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Apr 17 2007, 03:50 AM

Flogir

Flogir was relieved when Patholos fixed the cloth so that it covered his eyes. Looking around he realised that most of the group had reformed, since he was Issac appear from the surrounding woods. He nodded a greeting before returning to the situation at hand.

It seemed like his initial kindness to Patholos had forced him to become the bridge between the two sides. The problem with the albino Dunmer was simply his unpredictable actions and moods. Sure, he might be a grovelling, withering wreck right now, but earlier he had displayed efficiently vicious displays of violence.

But his offer of joining the Silhouette's army as a mole could be a good idea, but there were risks of betrayal as well. Then again, he would be away and the problems he caused would be removed as well. It would take the group to decide to truly know, so he might as well start off.

"Well everyone, if Patholos wants to be a mole, I think that'll work. What do you all think?"

Posted by: Dantrag Apr 17 2007, 04:02 AM

Rann

"Hell f***ing no," was Rann's reply to Flogir's question, "I might be the only one, but I don't trust him. Hell, I trust this vampire more, and I don't know her name."

"Aerona," he heard her interject.

"Thank you, Aerona," he said, only slightly getting off topic, "Let him go over there, see how royally f***ed we become." he finished, returning to the original subject at hand.

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 17 2007, 04:32 AM

Karn

Setting the vial down on the branch, Karn leapt down to the ground. He went through the necessary methods to slow down his respiration and allow him not to take a breath of toxic air. The ninja cast invisibility and drank a potion of resist poison for good measure.

Moving silently through the brush, Karn came in close to the group, even with life detction his vitals were so low he doubted someone could sense him. He heard the recent debates, and before he made his move Karn announced. "Oh, if you think you'll be royally screwed, you don't know the half of it!"

As his invisbility failed, Karn pulled something from his left sleeve and a long wire appeared from in his hand. The whip ended with a spiked edge that was coated in a poison of drain fatigue. Karn's tactic wasn't to kill anyone, but when they were suddenly sapped of energy, people tended to inhale more oxygen..... and anything contaminating the air.

The long cord lashed out, toward Rann, it only need graze the Dunmer to take affect, and that affect would lead to a more powerful reaction to the airborne toxins.

Posted by: Dantrag Apr 17 2007, 04:42 AM

Rann

Rann immediately jumped into action, putting his arm in front of him to block the whip. The end dug into his arm after wrapping around several times, giving him good leverage. He roughly pulled it out of Karn's hands, ignoring the pain and decent amount of blood.

He grinned, looking positively evil standing there with a bloodied arm with an even bloodier whip hanging from it.

"Why in the hell do you keep showing up?" he asked, "Last time you ran, leaving your goblin friends. Are you going to run this time? Wait, what wil you use to slow me down? I don't see any goblins around..."

He walked in a circle, acting as if he were looking for something in the woods. "Come out goblins, wherever you are..."

He stopped long enough to draw his blade, "I guess if you run this time I can chase you."

Green-Root.

The Argonian snorted. Being called a lizzard, even a mr lizzard, was not something he appreciated. He kept his words to himself though, no need to spark more anger from the group. In the end, he was just the guy who joined up for the moment.

Then Karn showed up.
,,Well, it does appear that my good treatment has healed you remarkably well. Now it's not nice to repay me with such aggression." He hissed at the assassin, and took a deep breath as he brought his spear in the ready position. Shortly after taking the deep breath, he felt an odd tickle within his lungs. The tickle soon ceased.

,,If I'm not mistaken, that whip isn't your only stick behind the bush, is it?" Green-Root said with a knowing grin.
,,Poison, how pathetic."

Satyana

She knew very well she had to be very cautious with her powers....

After all...Serene is my grandmother and she taught me well

She sensed Kiranaīs hesitation about her and above all she felt her giving Issac a warning to keep distance from her...This fact made her extremely sad. She loved Issac deeply and would never even think of not controlling her powers in his presence. She was hoping her powers could be of some help! Thatīs why she revealed them sort of...to Kirana hoping for help from the more experienced mage. Instead she wanted to separate Issac from her!

Satyana sat down on the ground, trying hard to keep from crying....

Issac! Be with me ! Support me now....please!

Issac

He paused a moment in indescion, then for once in his life he ignored Kirana's council.

Issac turned back to the group and came to Satyana. He sat down beside her, simply being by her side. Issac could tell she was terribly upset, and he wanted to do all he could to help her, whatever it took. He embraced her tightly, and spoke sicerely "I'm sorry for not being around lately, Satyana, please forgive me."

Issac added quietly, "I'll do most anything to make it up to you....." He kissed her forehead lovingly. Satyana you're too important to me to give up!

Patholos, sitting against a tree

Patholos began to doze off when he heard the voice of a stranger. He looked up and saw in his vision a man with a whip like weapon attack Rann. With all his heart, he wished that the new threat would hurt Rann, but instantly he regretted that. If Rann was hurt, he would have no chance to help them. Help them? What the hell? Why did I just think that? Patholos thought. A lot of good you are right now, he thought to himself again. Wait....

Calling to Karn, Patholos yelled, "HEY! LOOK INTO MY EYES!" and Patholos removed the cloth around his eyes....

Karn

"It's nothing personal Argonian, but it is your choice to stay with these people. Unfortunately, I'm in for the long run." He replied to Green-Root's comment. "And I do have many tricks up my sleeves."

At that moment he tore a lengthy scroll from a pouch on his belt. The scroll unraveled, and Karn roared its contents. The parchment burned to a crisp, and for several moments nothing happened. Suddenly three forms appeared in between Karn and the group.

One figure wore the familiar deadric armor of a dremora lord, and the other two were angelic in comaprison to the dremora, Golden Saints. Grinning slightly, Karn retrieved a clawed instrument from his pack and it attached to his wrist easily.
Four wicked claws of pure ebony, each sprouting from just above his knuckles. The deadra unsheathed their blades and held their shields tightly, prepared for the bloodshed at hand.

Cuaght somewhat off-guard by the his pale kinsman, Karn glanced at him for a fraction of a second.

Kirana

Watching as Issac went past her and knelt beside Satyana. Unbidden, Kirana faltered for a moment, taken aback by this. Her suggestion had been to ensure that nothing could happen for the time being.
In hindsight Kirana realized that this might not have been the wisest choice, but she was willing to stand by her decision.

She also noted how upset Satyana had become almost as soon as she had warned Issac to keep his distance. Perhaps I misjudged them; I will watch and wait.... Kirana turned and walked away, neither bitter nor angered by this development.

Patholos, leaning against the tree

Muttering a Shield Spell, Patholos rolled onto his side to get at the second dagger he carried. The first was still lodged in the tree and Patholos was too far away to retrieve it. As the shield spell took hold, Patholos noticed something curious, his vision showed the decay of the Daedra like the caster would see, for example, he knew how long the creatures had left on Mundus. Astounded by this but also afraid, he recognized that the Daedra were here for no short visit.

As Patholos threw the small dagger at the Dremora Lord while this new caster looked at him. The small poisoned dagger wouldn't do much to a Daedra, but it struck the Dremora Lord in the Achilles Tendon. Patholos prayed that this would give the others enough time to fight the creatures. Patholos began his families' Death Prayers that they had been saying for generations....

Karn

When the pale Dunmer threw his dagger at the newly conjured dremora, Karn realized this mer was a nuisance that would be a good opononent to destroy now. As he vaulted toward the mer Karn summoned a bound shortsword.

The murderer aimed his wrist blades to run through his foe's heart. The bound sword was just a matter of insurance in case his target could retaliate. Prepare for death's embrace!

Flogir

As if Flogir's stress level wasn't high enough, Karn suddenly appeared once more. Instictively he drew Iceshard and prepared for the worse. Turns out the worse is a Dremora Lord and two Golden Saints.

Flogir shuddered as past memories quickly flashed before his eyes. Instantly, he was seeing Kvatch ruined once again. The cries of people being hacked to pieces by Daedra echoes in his ears and the scent of sulfur and blood filled his nostrils. Flogir's eyes glistened in fear, as he was consumed by the memories. All he wanted to do was get away.

Slowly, Flogir began backstepping, hoping that he would enter the woods without anyone noticing.

OOC: Perhaps Karn's poison is only helping to freak out Flogir even more by making him feel weird and helpless.

Patholos, against the tree

Patholos took the wristblades in the stomach, the Shield Spell was weak to begin with. Patholos coughed up blood all over the figure of Karn, and the cold metal now in his gut began to cause him great pain...

Before Karn could pull out his wristblades, Patholos muttered a Recall Spell and the pair were transported to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary in Cheydinhal. Patholos muttered, "Welcome to my hell..." and he fell unconscious.

OOC: If the teleportation was a little too much, i can edit. This was the only defense Patholos had.

OCC: no it's fine.

Karn

The sudden change in location took several moments to sink in. When it did, Karn roared andtore out his wristblades from Patholos' torso. He recognized this place, the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary in Cheydinhal.
Karn had been here when he'd been a part of the brotherhood.

However he'd walked out on them, and he was not in anyway happy to be back here. The shriek of a dark guardian focussed his thoughts. Jumping out of the skeleton's axe swing, Karn grabbed a nearby pedestal of marble.

The enraged Dunmer swung the furnishing, knocking the guardian's shield out of its bony hand. When the undead tried to evisorate him, Karn cuaght the axe's blade in his wrist blades and wrenched it from the unholy servant's hands.
Gripping the weapon so tightly his knuckles went pale, Karn knocked the guardian's skull off with the flat of his axe. The rest of the skeleton fell apart, and the ninja searched for more enemies. There were none that he found at first.

Naturally, I lead some of these mongrels under the Silhouete, they're probably rotting at the bottom of Lake Rumare by now. With nowhere else to vent his fury, Karn grabbed Patholos by his cloak's collar. "You will pay dearly for your treachery," Karn hissed to the unhearing Dunmer.

SUddenly a quiet whispering voice was heard as if the air itself was speaking. "You, you lead my servants to their deaths and now bring suffering to another; it is you who shall pay dearly for your audacity!"

Patholos, on the floor on the Sanctuary

Patholos awoke when he felt the cold presence of the Night Mother. He was still dying, he was aware of that, but he felt no pain, and he stood up. Patholos readjusted his eyecovering and said, "Wait, let him be. He is a child of Sithis, his mistakes are his own. Now leave him be." Patholos began to feel pain again, but before he fell to the ground, dark hands caught him.

Green-Root.

A Dremora and two goldenskinned women with matching armour took form. The Argonian had no idea what they were, but he didn't want to find out the hard way.
He was already hobbling away while Patholos was getting killed anyway.

He followed the trail the tickle in his lungs presented.
,,He has to leave the poison here somewhere."
Then he spotted it, a small glint on top of a tree. With a quick jab of his spear, he pushed it off the branch and into his hands. It was half empty but what was left had to be enough.

He rushed back to camp.
,,Good, they're still here."
,,Hey, Dremora! Over here!" He shouted at the largest Daedra's back. When the beast turned around, Green-Root sprang to action and tried to shove the half-empty vial of poison down its throat. There were three uncertain factors in his plan. One: Would he hit? Two: Was the Dremora vulnerable to poison? Three: what would the two women do?

He knew only one thing for certain. That poison was meant to be inhaled and powerful enough even when spread out by the wind. forcing the whole vial down its throat would effectively concentrate the stuff right where it mattered.

Karn

Looking down at the pale Dunmer, Karn puzzled over why his past membership in the britherhood affected anything, but he neither executed Patholos nor replied to the horrible voice of the Night Mother. Three assassins pushed open the door that leadt to the bed chambers.

Karn reflect how sloppy he'd been to not check and see if the assassins were sleeping. It is morning after all.... The DB assassins ignored him and moved to aid their brother. The Dunmer ninja sat down in a shadowy corner of the main chamber and closed his eyes, intending to make as much use of this respite as possible.

Rann

Rann had barely blinked and found that Karn and Patholos had disappeared. He didn't have much time to think about it though, as they were quickly replaced by two Golden Saints.

He started to fight them, ignoring the biting pain in his arm. Within seconds, however, he found himself abnormally and extremely exhausted. His attacks and blocks became slow and clumsy, and he was barely staying on his feet.

"Poison," he said wearily, hoping someone would hear and come to his aid, "The whip..."

Kirana

As she walked away from Issac and Satyana, Kirana noticed the fighting that had broken out between the others and two Golden Saints and a single dremora lord. Where did those come from? Hardly pausing to think about her own question, she joined the fray.

She noticed Rann was being plagued by something, his movements taking more visible effort than normal. As a golden saint prepared to strike the young Dunmer with a spell, Kirana placed herself between Rann and the saint and cast a hasty lightning shield.

"Rann, I really suggest you let someone deal with your arm before you try something herioc and stupid." She said before spinning around to blast the deadra with a elemental blast of her own. Had it not been for the chaos of the melee, Kirana would have noticed that her throat felt itchy as if something was in the air....

OOC: I think Green-Root took care of the Dremora...

Rann

"I'll be fine," he protested weakly, unwilling to admit he needed help, even though he had secretly hoped for it.

He tried to block another attack from a Golden Saint, but was knocked to the ground. He stood again just in time to put upa successful block. He doubted he would be on the offensive any time soon. He started breathing heavily, and felt something odd in his throat. He coughed.

The feeling spread into his lungs. The cough came from deep in his chest this time.

"What the hell?" he asked in a quiet and raspy voice, hoping to hold on to his life for at least a few more moments.

His attacker lifted its sword for a blow that would certainly take Rann's life.

Aerona

Aerona witnessed the events in somewhat of a stupor. She had never been much for conflicts, and had only recently started to be involved in them ever since she had joined the Quarra.

She knew very few offensive spells, and none of them were powerful enough to take care of the two Golden Saints. She felt an obligation to Rann both for saving her from the mad pale dunmer, and for giving his blood.

When she saw the coming danger, she wasted no time in casting a shield spell on Rann, saving him from certain doom. Defensive magick was her forte.

Patholos, in the Sanctuary

Patholos followed Karn into the chamber. The healing potion that one of the DB members gave him completely cured the stomach wound. Patholos sat down opposite Karn and asked him, "Your name is?" But before Karn could answer, Patholos said, "Doesn't matter, you serve the Silhouette, am I correct? Is there room for our Order, my brother?"

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 19 2007, 12:38 PM

OCC: no that poison isn't lethal. Being in a higher concentration just promisis a more dramatic reation. The reaction still requires a trigger to activate....

Kirana

As the saint swung her longsword in a wide arc, Kirana ducked under the blade.
While the saint was off balance, she kicked it away to get a breif reprieve.

Hearing Rann's question, Kirana also shared his sentiments. The itch in her throat that made it difficult to breath, but it wasn't what was causing exhaustion.

Having not witnessed Karn's arrival and attack she couldn't connect the difficulty to breath with the assassin.

"Rann for the empire's sake you're not any condition to be fighting. Get to safety n-"

Before she could finish the saint she'd been fighting had recovered and loosed a blast of lightning.
Kirana collapsed as electricty ripped through her body.

Karn

Without opening his eyes, Karn replied. "One, I once served Sithis but not anymore. Two the Dark Brotherhood assassins that were already serving the Silhouete are all dead in the attack on Chancellor Ocato. So I don't see why you would choose to join it."

Karn purposely ommitted that he had two clients at the moment rather than one. And he couldn't tell if Virec would find these murderers useful or not.

Patholos, in the Sanctuary,

Feeling the pain is his eyes that would never go away, Patholos changed the wrapping around his head and changed into Dark Brotherhood armor. While he was changing, one could see the scars of brutal fights and beatings all along his pale back. Then Patholos turned to Karn and said, "Brother, I was away on assignment in Vvardenfell, pursuing a certain "Nerevarine" when I was recalled to Cyrodill by my Master. It seems that I was supposed to relay information to a certain "Ian" about the possibility of recruiting the Brotherhood against the Silhouette, but between the constant fights and the argument with the Rann character, (at this moment, Patholos made a disgusted face) I forgot to relay said information."

"Now my brother," Patholos continued, "We should get down to the matter at hand. How many agents would you need of our Brotherhood? I will run the choreography under the Silhouette, for this Sanctuary is my jurisdiction. How do you think the Silhouette will respond to that?" Patholos paused, and forgiving Karn for the near death experience that had just occurred and the obvious breaking of one of the Five Tenants, Patholos handed a scroll and parchment to Karn. "And I will need to know your name...

OOC: Does Karn need soldiers, there are many in the Cheydinhal Sanctuary, also, Patholos has a Speaker that could help...

Green-Root.

The Dremora didn't choke from the poison, rather it choked on the vial being shoved down its windpipe. The demon bit down on Green-Root's hand who hissed in pain and anger.
,,Go back to where you came from!" He shouted and gripped his spear just behind the blade with his free hand. He then proceeded to stab between the Daedric plates of its cuirrass repeatedly till the creature dissolved into a billowing cloud of smoke.

The Argonian staggered, his spear fell to the floor and he clutched his wounded hand.
,,That could've gone better."

He looked wearily at the Golden Saints. He involuntarily winced when Kirana went down from a heavy blast of lightning. Whether he liked it or not, he was the only one around who was in the condition to put up a fight. The Vampire seemed more suited for support rather than offense.

He picked up his spear and charged into battle. He focussed on the one who was trying to kill the Sage. His spear went up, then swung down to connect with the Saint's helmet.
,,Vampire! Think you can give me the edge? I'm not used to fighting two women from Oblivion!"

Karn

He showed no emotion at the mention of his foes name, but Karn felt a bitter-sweet taste fill his mouth at Ian's mention. "The Silhouete is a hard abomination to understand. He came here promising pillage, but instead aims to destroy everything in his path, even things that can't or won't be a threat."

"It cares very little about what we do or who we are. It only cares about what his snakemen do. That thing killed some of his own recruits just because they were becoming an incovieniance." Although the prospect of slaughtering anyone who he didn't trust was not alien in the least, Karn found a good deal of the Silhouete's actions unnecessary.

"Still, on the subject of useful targets, I would suggest eliminating the counts and countesses of the towns that have yet to be touched by the Akaviri invasion. Skingrad, Chorrol, and Anvil would fit this discription."

Karn changed subject, "As a matter of curiosity, what was the information that you were going to deliver to Ian?" He wasn't willing to let a small detail ruin whatever plan he came up with later, so Karn wanted to know what Patholos had to say before he went back to scheming....

Karn signed his signature on the parchment as he spoke, not seeing why his name would have to be kept confidential.

OCC: Kirana might have a useful scroll or two on her person if you guys need an edge.

Patholos

"My brother, we must put an end to this Silhouette! You say he is bent on the destruction of Mundus, but you desire conquest, not annihilation? The Brotherhood is with you, my brother. We must stop the Silhouette, but we have not the force to confront him. Let those with the ability, use it. The group I was with should keep the Silhouette occupied for a while, allowing us to infiltrate top ranks and (achem) "Cut the head off the Snake.""

Patholos paused, then said, "As for the information I was supposed to relate to Ian, I have it on my person." Patholos reached into the folds on his DB armor and withdrew a slip of paper. "My sources intercepted this message coming from Vivec's Canton in Vivec to Mournhold. It seems there is a callout for all the Soldiers in the Empire to converge back on the city. It was signed by Vivec himself, and there is a scrawl there that looks to be from the Nerevarine." At the mention of the Nerevarine, Patholos spat. He handed the note to Karn. "We must act my brother, are you with us?...

(Here is what the Note said)

"Attention:
All Imperial Soldiers report to the Imperial City immediately. Leave the outer barracks and bring your equipment. There is gold in the coffers for mercenaries, we will need all the spare weaponry you can bring. A vast flotilla of Imperial Ships are on their way to Ebonheart and the shores of Vvardenfell. All readers must comply! For the EMPIRE!"

Karn

Rereading the letter multiple times before setting it down, Karn muttured. "With Ocato dead, these men could be the few leaders strong enough and influencial enough to hold the western armies together. Their lives' importance cannot be overestimated...."

He mulled all this over, then asked. "May I have a moment to ponder this before I make my choice?" Karn was subtlely fingering the yellow amulet that Veric had given to him as a way of communication.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 20 2007, 03:05 AM

Patholos

"Take whatever time you need my brother." As Patholos waited for Karn's response, an Agent walked into the room and whispered into Patholos's ear. Patholos nodded, then said, "You might have to make that choice a little sooner than planned. The Fighters Guild and The Mages Guild are outside the Sanctuary. They are tearing down the abandoned house to get to us. We are evacuating the Sanctuary and Moving to my Master's Vile Lair. From there we will coordinate our attacks, and stop the supply lines coming up river from Morrowind." Patholos went into his drawer, and surprisingly, he took very little out. "Our Brothers will hold them as long as possible, My brother, make your choice, their numbers are estimated to be well over fifty."

Patholos motioned his head over towards Karn, then added quickly, "What are you waiting for?"

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 20 2007, 03:10 AM

Karn, very, very ticked off

Gritting his teeth in annoyance to the sudden shift in events, Karn pulled his hand away from the amulet sitting inside his pocket. "Alright, seems like we're in this for the long run," He added after a fractional pause. "Brother."

I can wait, Veric isn't going to blast me into Oblivion just for not checking in every catastophe....

OCC: I'll just write Veric's response myself...... and if Shogun wants, I'll edit the post.

Patholos

"Quickly, follow me!" Patholos ran down the hallway, and three paces before the door deeper into the Sanctuary to an assumed dead end, Patholos stopped. "Sanguine is the night, Sithis is the Void," He chanted. A pathway opened up underneath the doorway, and the rotten air hit Patholos full on. "Down here are the sewers of the city and we can escape that way. Our sources tell us that both Guilds are out in full force, so we are sending our Thieves that we payed off to go and "retrieve" some items for us. You and I will receive a detailed report of what they acquire..."

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 20 2007, 03:30 AM

Karn, following

Karn just nodded, keeping up the Patholos' pace as they moved into the sewers. Rotting incubaters for disease, why is it always the sewers we have to use to escapre the "virtuous" hunters trying to persecute us?

It was a dumb question that even the most infantile child could answer, but Karn asked himself anyway. "Just ignore the fetid smell and piles of rat crap that dot the floor." He muttered to himself, though loud enough for the other assassins and Patholos to hear his remark.

OCC: actually, I know so little of Veric's real thoughts and character that I probably couldn't make a convincing responce.

PS: I'm going to update Ian and Karn's profiles.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 20 2007, 03:44 AM

Nearing a bend, Patholos and the others stopped. "This is three floors under the Count's Chambers. How about we go for a kill to relieve some stress?" Patholos waved the others on, and the other assassins took off down the sewer. Once they were out of earshot, Patholos said, "The real reason we took the sewers is we are meeting the King Of Worms and possibly forging an alliance. If the rest of the Brotherhood hears of this, they might come after us." Patholos nodded at Karn as if he already knew. All of the sudden, a foreboding figure appeared out of nothing. With a voice from the grave, the King of Worms spoke, "I am here, who is in charge?"

Patholos nodded to Karn, then politely bowed.

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 20 2007, 04:15 AM

Karn, the meeting

He was momentarily surprised when Patholos indicated that he was in charge. Still he shook off the confusion and composed himself. Well this is a first, I'm talking to the king of necromancers who was supposed to be dead..... But I guess when you have servants who can raise the dead someone can just resurrect you...

Karn's crimson eyes glinted slightly in the dim light. "I am, Karn, ninja and eliminator of the Dark Brotherhood." He hadn't been called an eliminator for about six years, but the title came with great ease. "I greet you...... Mannimarco (sp.), King of Worms."

He spoke as confidently as he hoped, and he felt great relief, there had been few occassions where he'd had the chance to speak like he was some high-bred leader who knew what he was doing rather than a cold-hearted life-taker.

"The Silhouete, a supernatural creature from Akavir, has began a march of destruction across Tamrial. His kin have no intention to leave something worth ruling over, only rubble in their wake to control. Those snakes are more likely to burn, or worse eat, the dead rather than bury them."

Karn finished his monologue, "So all of us have something to lose if the Silhoute and his kin prevail over our former enemies. Our old struggles should be temporarily set aside so that there is more to gain than to lose. After all, in the wake of 'victory' the factions will be weak and new territories and influence can be snatched from their fingers."

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 20 2007, 04:25 AM

The King Of Worms

"It is as it was once before, the country is in turmoil, yet, there is no interference from the Gods. Puzzling..." The King of Worms was quiet for a second then spoke, "And how, Eliminator, do you propose we kill a demi-god?" The King Of Worms started pacing the room, and then he said, "The rabble of assassins is no army, and my servants (he paused on the word, meaning the dead and the living) are no match for the Creatures from Akavir. This is puzzling, and without the dead, my power dwindles. We must unite. Where are your soldiers Eliminator?"

Patholos

"I believe that he is working with us, Mannimarco. He is now Head Strategist of our Guild." Patholos nodded at Karn, and telepathically sent a weak message to all near members about the promotion. "Mannimarco, would you be able to move your Necromancers to Leyawiin? Our Guild is fortifying the southern Shore, and we need to know that there is a cushion of protection from any invading source." Patholos waited and the King of Worms replied, "Yes. It shall be done tomorrow's eve."

Green-Root.

The Dremora didn't choke from the poison, rather it choked on the vial being shoved down its windpipe. The demon bit down on Green-Root's hand who hissed in pain and anger.

,,Vampire! Think you can give me the edge? I'm not used to fighting two women from Oblivion!"

Rann

Rann was grateful for the shield, as it caused the Golden Saint's sword to harmlessly bounce off of him, but the sheer force of the swing did serve to knock him down.

Then he decided to take Kirana's advice and stay out of the fight, but not because he had given up. Merely because he physically couldn't get back up. His breaths became slow and short, and his limbs became limp and unresponsive due to the two poisons lurking around inside his body.

Aerona

"I have a name!" she said loudly before giving Green-Root a similar protective barrier. She didn't like people reminding her that she was an abomination.

She noticed Rann's predicament and went to work dragging him away from the fight despite his quiet, raspy protests. Once she was satisfied of the safe distance, she went to work healing the young dunmer, hoping to identify the poisons and properly neutralize them. Then she could do the same for the others and herself.

Her throat was beginning to feel a bit scratchy.

Karn

"So it would seem mutually beneficial to defeat the Silhoute..... Although others don't see it that way.". Karn was indicating the Mages and Fighter Guilds that chased them out of their sanctuary.

"And yes, we can only fight from behind the scenes, not on an open battlefield.". Karn remarked.

King of Worms

The Kings of Worms nodded in approval of Karn, then vanished back into the shadows.

Patholos

"That went off better than I had planned, my Brother." Patholos said, watching the King of Worms dissappear into the shadows. "What do you think about the plan?" Patholos waited for a response, and he sat down on a fallen piece of masonry. Patholos had not slept for over three days, and he drained a Restore Fatigue potion that he brought with him. Then he pulled out another vial, smaller, and uncorked it. "Do you drink, my Brother?" The strong Flin overpowered the smell of the sewer. Patholos offered the drink to Karn.

Issac added quietly, "I'll do most anything to make it up to you....." He kissed her forehead lovingly. Satyana you're too important to me to give up!

She shrugged, the vomica cruor still frightened her with its powers... She then found herself in the delicate situation of needing to heal two persons...A quick glance revealed that Rann probably would be ok for some time so she concentrated on Kirana. Healing a person that has been hit by lightning is hard she did her best, but that might not been good enough. Kirana still breathed but very shallow. Serene decided to focus even hareder but the stressful situation made it even harder...

Green-Root.

,,I'll make sure to remember it!" The Argonian shouted back at Aerona. The Saint he'd just hit over the head literally seemed to explode.
,,Woa! I suppose that hot chick jokes are not appreciated right now?" He hissed to himself and focussed on the last remaining Daedra.

,,Come on, you know you want to. Show me what you've got!" He taunted while using the long reach of his spear to his advantage. At the same time, he displayed an attractive gap in his defense, leaving his heart wide open. Sure there was the shield their latest ally had put on him, but he was sure it would fall from a concentrated assault. A concentrated assault was all he needed.

The Saint sprang to the attack, thrusting her golden sword at the Argonian. The shield flickered and dissipated under the attack.
,,Got you!" Green-Root covered the gap he'd made and aimed for his foe's sword, calling upon his spear's power as he did so. The two weapons collided, one Daedric, the other something similar.
,,Damn! I lost the gamble! That thing should've snapped like a twig!"

The Saint batted his spear aside with inhuman strenght and stabbed her blade deep into his side.
,,Agh!" Green-Root hissed and fell down to his knees. His spear had fallen from his hands, out of his reach.

Karn

For once Karn didn't care to check and see if the flin was contaminated, poisoned or otherwise. The Dunmer ninja threw back his head and guzzled the vial. When he was finished he wiped his mouth with his arm and said. "Thanks, and I can't think up a better plan before the Silhouete marches over half of Cyrodiil. So I can't complain, but we're are taking a huge risk like this."

Karn shook his head, letting the empty bottle fall to the floor and shatter. "This is going to be a conflict that will decide Tamriel's future, can't you feel it, brother?" His throat still burned from drinking the flin that fast though he ignored it. The old manners from his time with the brotherhood were returning, it was getting easier for him to refer to Patholos as a brother.

Of course, all my real brothers are dead, a bunch of ashes sitting in a crater in a bloody cave in the Valus Mountains. Karn didn't get chocked up about their passing, they wouldn't if he'd died. Still, with the alcahol making its way into his system, he got a little remorseful.

All that happened was he tightened his hands into fists. "The Silhouete hasn't given me anything to perfer its cause, my brothers died for its cause." Karn spoke the last part quietly.

OCC: maybe Patholos will mistake the meaning of "brothers" biggrin.gif

Ian, wide awake

The world came to him quickly, and he immediately recognized the sounds of fighting. "Compassion, just when we were having a good time without bloodshed." Ian grabbed his guantlets off the ground and put them on.

Dashing toward the sounds of combat, Ian spotted Green-Root on the ground bleeding, along several familiar forms. He also recognized the decievingly benevolent visage of a Golden Saint, an Aureal guardian of Sheogorath's realm.

How did.... nevermind, answers can come later. Rejuvenated by Serene's healing, Ian rushed to his allies defense. Two meters from the Aureal, he skidded, slidding into the Saint's blind spot. Ian aimed his blade for the Aureal's unprotected neck....

OCC Kirana should be fine. Fine in the regard of being healable...... I don't think that's a word.

Flogir

The cries of help finally cracked through Flogir's maddening visions. Flogir finally realised that he was standing alone in the woods, not the flaming ruins of Kvatch. In the distance, the battle between the Daedra and his friends continued. Cursing his foolishness, Flogir charged back through the woods, yelling that he was coming.

By the time he got there, the Daedra only numbered one Golden Saint, which Ian seemed to be dealing with relatively well. He only noticed that several of his allies were lying on the ground. Ashamed at the fact that he ran, Flogir immediately went to Ian's aid by hamstringing the Saint with Iceshard.

Patholos

"Yes, this will be the Era where Men and Mer rise to challenge even the Gods!" The sheer magnitude of what he just said made him quiet for a while, then he spoke again. "I can see the ties of Ancestry in you, Brother, and I feel as if you are in search of something more, as am I. Let me reveal something to you that may startle you." Patholos paused, then continued, "I hate Sithis. I loathe the Essence of Evil that the Dread Father is. His morals, His Punishments (Patholos growled this word), and His Blessings. If the Dread Father created everything, why does he desire to take it away? And why does he do nothing about the horrendous doings of Mannimarco? Brother, The Five Tenants were designed around Sithis, and I propose we write a new credence! We will rise from the ashes of the Dark Brotherhood, and become a prominence that will shake the very foundations of Mundus!" With this speech, Patholos then spoke softly, "I estimate seventy percent of the Dark Brotherhood would be willing to change. The rest will be, shall I say, sacrificed to their god."

Mannimarco

The King of Worms hastened to send to word to all his marshals. He sent a note with each minion he summoned, and it was written in their own language. Here is what the note said:

"My Servants, Awaken!
We move to Bravil and Leyawiin. Fortify the surrounding area and lower the river by any means necessary, be it flooding it with bodies so ships may not pass through, or damming it off. Proceed with the Great Plan, and bring my spellbooks. This is what I so say."

Karn

"Well, I am relieved I don't have to scheme with a fanatic." Karn muttured dryly. "Change would be good, it is required." He agreed.

"The Dark Brotherhood will cause all to panic at its mere mention. Let the outdated religous dogma be cast aside, and let all brothers and sisters be bound in a fellowship of revolutionaries who bring about great change throughout all of Tamriel."
The ninja found himself supporting a cause that had no real foundation yet. Maybe it's the flin.... In truth, he didn't care if he agreed because of the flin he'd drank or if he actually believed in this new beginning.

Ian

He nodded in greeting and thanks to Flogir. Turning to Serene, Ian felt a wave of rapture, but he shook his head to clear his mind. He felt better than he'd felt in years, but Ian reminded himself to focus. Bringing his attention to the woman Serene was healing, Ian reeled, taking a half-step back.

He instantly recognized Kirana, his friend and ally on many occassions, and like always he was surprised to find her being in the same place he was. Ian watched as Serene worked with Kirana....

Issac

Taking a moment to explain the part of the situation that he didn't think Satyana understood yet (which wasn't much). Issac told her, "Kirana was my, well....." He searched for the right way to tell 'Tyana.

"As Ian has been my father, Kirana is, for all intents and purposes, my mother. She taught me what I know about magic, and quite a few other things." He paused for awhile. "Neither Ian or I have seen her for the last few years."

"Just don't take anything personally, Satyana. Kirana cares a lot.... too much sometimes; she's normally a loner. Is she comes across as harsh or uncaring she's having some trouble balancing everyone's well being and her normal independance." Issac returned Satyana's smile and gazed at her fondly.

He caressed her face and asked, "Are you hungry? Most of the food is packed up, but I'm sure we could find something."

Patholos

"Yes my Brother, that is what drives our being, our essence as creatures of Mundus! Shirk the Old Ways, we must react!" Patholos quieted again, then he shook his head. "All this talk," Patholos laughed. Just then an Agent from the Dark Brotherhood came running down the sewer towards the two. "The Fighter's Guild has dis-" The Agent yelled before an arrowhead buried itself deep into the neck of the Agent. The Agent fell over face first into a congealing pool of his own blood. Two Nords, an Orc, and a Bosmer Archer noticed the two conversing. The Bosmer readied another arrow and let loose. It clanged harmlessly against the masonry around them, but the other three were charging. Patholos said, "Let's see how you are in battle, Brother!"

King of Worms

Mannimarco set up his headquarters in a cave not too far south of Bravil. His agents sent in information and his Necromancers began the arduous task of making Black Soul Gems. He had too few for an open assualt of any kind, and the Dark Brotherhood had only sent three agents to his headquarters. Mannimarco pondered his tactical view of the empire. Silhouette was a very smart person, obviously not a commoner or native of Cyrodil. The tactics used were similar to the ones displayed during the Daggerfall Incident. Mannimarco opened up his mind in meditation....but he could not remember because of his recent death.

Karn

He gave a rare smile, "With pleasure, my brother." Reaching into his right sleeve like he'd done when confronting the group, Karn retrieved a second whip-blade. The long cord arced over his head and lashed out at the nearest nord.

It spun several times around the Nord's neck before the blade became imbedded in the man's collarbone. Unlike its twin, this weapon was enchanted as opposed to poisoned. Its edge burned through the nord's skin like a hot knife through scrib jelly.

As the hulking warrior collapsed, the cord effortlessly unwound itself from the dying man's neck. Karn gestured and a dozen shurikan and kunai darted through the air to strike the Bosmer archer through his leather armor.

Patholos

"Leaving two for me!" Patholos ran in a zigzag motion as the Orc in his Beserker Fury came barreling towards him. Patholos would collide if he did not move. At the last possible instant, Patholos sidestepped, slashing in an incredibly fast motion down the Orc's back. Patholos turned to face the back of the Orc as the other Nord moved to stab. The Orc was so finely cut that he kept moving until the top half of his torso slid off from the other half.
The Nord, enraged by the death of one of his friends, stabbed with a fury few have seen. Patholos deflected the best he could, then, seeing an opening in the Nord's attacks, slit his arms up to the elbow. The Nord fell to his knees and dropped his weapon. Patholos put a tourniquet on the shoulders on the Nord and tied his hands and bound his mouth. Waiting for Karn to finish the Bosmer, Patholos knocked the Nord unconscious.

Flint Ironwood, Chorrol (totally forgot about him. Dang.)

Flint paced back and forth in front of the throne. He'd thought that merely dropping Ian's name would be enough. Now he had to give out a detailed report?
,,And I pretty much forgot everything. Man, I'm really getting old."

He scratched his beard, still pacing.
,,Ok, so I'm a bit mentally disabled at my age, so I kinda forgot the chronological order." He mumbled incoherently.

,,The Imperial City has been evacuated completely, the navy has been sunk, Leyawiin has been burned down to the ground. Cheydinhall has come under attack and likely fallen. Sathyana was kidnapped but has been saved by now. Then, someone who I think I might know blew up a large portion of the Valus mountain, taking a large portion of the original army with him. Somewhere around that time, the Silhouette disappeared, only to return later at the head of thousands of Akaviri snakes. And I know how to count, thank you very much."

He took a deep breath before continuing.
,,Ian is now a vampire but otherwise seems to be fine. Serene from Vvardenfell joined up as well, which should be a clue to how serious the whole situation is. Rann is getting on everyone's bad side, Sathyana has hooked up with Issac. We're running low on supplies but other than that, I think we can hold out for a while longer and monitor any movements. But we can't do this on our own."

He stopped pacing and faced the countess.
,,Ah, screw this! I'm not good at this thing so just tell me what exactly you want to know!"

(Yes, I kinda forgot the whole chronological order. Sorry. indifferent.gif At least it makes for good roleplaying.)

Green-Root

Green-Root was on the ground, in a rapidly growing pool of his own blood. The edge of his vision darkened and everything else was a blur. His thoughts were sluggish and incoherent.
,,Where did the sun go? I'm hung......" He passed out.

(Not dead yet but he might. If he gets healed, he'll survive but with a massive scar in his side and permanently damaged muscles. If he doesn't get healed, he'll die. I don't want plot-based immortality on my characters.)

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 21 2007, 07:07 PM

Ian

He turned as Green-Root fell to the ground with a thud. Ian realized that the argonian was very much in danger of perishing.

Thinking quickly, Ian tore the rest of Root's shirt off and made the best torniquite (sp.) he could given the circumstances. Well, at least it can slow down the bleeding. I can only do so much with first aid. Ian popped open the plug of his last healing potion.

His spirits plummeted when he noticed the vial was crudly made. At best it would help close the wound and hopefully help clot the Argonian's blood. He fed Root the weak potion, hoping that if anything, the argonian wouldn't die before Serene got Kirana out of her plight.

King of Worms

Mannimarco paced around his newly established headquarters. His information trickled in, and nothing was related to the other. One piece talked about the Akaviri food-necessity, but Mannimarco could have asked anyone about that information. The other letter on his desk was hastily scrawled. He picked it up to read and wasn't surprised from what he read. The Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary was now in ruins, thanks the the "Virtuous Mages and Fighters from their respective Guilds" or so the paper went. There were many casualties, but his spies said that the Dark Brotherhood took their dead with them. Mannimarco was impressed. With the dead Mages and Fighters that his "servants" had gathered, he became aware of the information stored away in the cadaverous brain. Manninmarco sifted magically through each of the corpses brains, looking for a leak of information or hearsay. The servants in the headquarters watched as Mannimarco moved from corpse to corpse, searching and checking. Mannimarco, is his fury of fruitless searching, reanimated the bodies. Faint murmurs of consciousness began to emit from the corpses as they regained their senses. Manninmarco said, "Do you know who you are?" The corpses make affirmative noises, because some of the bodies had facial wounds. "Good," Mannimarco said, then he lit the bodies on fire, and yelled, "Suffer eternally!" Mannimarco motioned for his staff, and then turned the bodies into raw energy. The staff lit up as it absorbed the bodies life force. After the deed was done, Mannimarco organized his headquarters and sent spies out to Cloud Ruler Temple to ransack equipment.

Karn

The Bosmer man thrashed abouton the ground, blood occassionally gushing from theplaces where Karn's throwing weapons had struck him. Karn lifted the wood elf by his collar in much the same way he'd done to Patholos only minutes ago.

"Let your death be a message to all." He muttured before slitting the Bosmer's throat. Striding to the far wall, Karn slashed through the mer's cuirass. He carved one word one the wood elf's chest. "Brotherhood"

As an afterthought, Karn carved "dark" on as well, before crossing it out. Leaving the mer lying against the stone walls of the sewers, Karn turned to Patholos. "Let this new beginning start now, my brother. We must be on our way."

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 22 2007, 04:28 AM

Patholos

Seeing what Karn wrote made Patholos think. Patholos shrugged and laid all the bodies together. The unconscious Nord was starting to come to, so Patholos struck him again, then using pieces of cloth from the clothing of the assailants, he tied the Nord to all the bodies. Patholos turned to Karn, and a feeling of belonging struck him. Here in front of Patholos was another Dunmer, whose heritage they both share. Also, this man was a visionary, as well as a formidable force. Patholos said, "My Brother, there comes a time when one must stop to gather himself, survey his surroundings, and make intelligent choices. I believe now is not one of those times.." Patholos made an elaborate gesture as if he was trying to hear something very faint. Yelling and cursing echoed down the sewer. Patholos smiled a wry smile, then he said, "There is way that would lead outside into the mountains through an old Mythic Dawn cultist's house. Once she died, it became an extremely valuable place. If you would just come this way...." Patholos smile again, and motioning down deeper into the sewer, Patholos took off.

The Countess

It was hard for the countess to keep from being angry at Flint's less-than-perfect report, but got enough information to realize that things were serious and no more time could be wasted.

"I'm sending you back with fifty soldiers; half my force here in Chorrol. When you meet back with everyone else, I want the most battle-experienced in the group to lead."

There was a moment of silence. "Go!"

Aerona

Aerona had almost finished making a healing potion for Rann when Serene healed him from quite a distance. She sat in awe at Serene's powers for a short moment before regathering her wits and focusing on the current situation. She noticed that their enemies were defeated and Green-Root was in dire need of help.

She hastily finished the potion that had originally been intended for Rann and hurried to Green-Root's side to give it to him.

"This should be of a bit more quality." she said without a hint of pride as she handed the concoction to Ian to administer.

Rann

Rann stood, having apparently been healed of two poisons and an injury. Unfortunately for him, Serene had healed his arm while the whip was still imbedded in it.

Not wanting to tear it out at this moment, he wrapped the whip around his arm and tied it so that it was out of his way and looked around at his companions.

Everyone was exhausted. The fight with the vampires had been useless, except for the gain of Aerona's healing magick, and Karn roamed free once more. Worst of all, though, they had waited too long to attack the Silhouette. His army was on the move.

"We should rest a day or two," he said to anyone who would listen, "The army should leave enough tracks to follow after we've rested. Then we'll go after the Silhouette with no more delay."

It was by no means an order; it was what he planned to do no matter what the others decided on. He sat down and began to sharpen his sword, glad for the small amount of peace.

Ian

At Rann's words, Ian blurred and dissappeared. A few moments later he appeared on top of a boulder some distance away. He watched as the Silhouete's army move through the narrow pass. Well, this all turned out real nice....

The rag-tag army of bandits and beasts marched at point, with the Akaviri snakemen coming up behind. Ian spotted the Silhouete, the sight of floating robes with only purple eyes beneath them caused him to reel backwards.

A pebble nearby slipped and began tumbling down the rock. Before it went too far and revealed his presense, Ian retreated back to the camp. Wearied in the face of everything that had happened of late, he slumped against a tree trunk.

I hope Flint has made some progress, otherwise the SIlhouete's armor will be free from these mountains in a matter of days.

Karn

He wordlessly followed Patholos, trusting in his companion's sense of direction.

Posted by: jack cloudy Apr 22 2007, 09:05 AM

Flint Ironwood. (Green-Root will remain unconscious for now.)

,,Geez, no rest for the good guys." Flint thought as he walked away. Fortunately he did not need to give out any orders. By the time he left the castle, there were already fifty men waiting for him, and fifty-one horses.
,,Hmm, cavalry. I never knew we had one of those. Twelve Archers, two battlemages and the rest are heavy knights."

He said nothing as he got on his horse. He just nodded and off they went.
,,I should've waited at least long enough to have a meal." With that thought, he dozed off."

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 22 2007, 10:58 PM

Patholos

Emerging from behind a closed door, Patholos came into the abandoned house. Looking back for Karn, Patholos went to the door and opened it. There waiting for them were two horses. The note attached to one of the saddles said,

"Here are two horses. Return to Vile Lair, Base camp set up, provisions low, lost ten percent of the Dark Brotherhood."
-Calitus

Patholos turned back to see Karn, and told him the news. Then he said, "It will take two hours of hard riding to get to the Vile Lair. We need to hurry, the other Guilds are on the hunt." As if to emphasize the last words from Patholos, he heard shouts and they saw torches in the night. "Come my brother, now we ride."

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 23 2007, 01:52 AM

Karn

Before mounting his horse, Karn grabbed a fresh lantern. Turning he shattered the glass and threw it in the direction of the nearby foliage that lay between them and their foes. "Alright, let's get out of here before they find a way through that fire."

As Karn mounted the black horse, the flames were beginning to spread through the meadow.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 23 2007, 03:15 AM

Patholos

Encouraged by the willingness and respect that Karn had shown him, Patholos spurred his horse on. Riding off towards the Vile Lair, Patholos started to think as the clod wind bit his face. The very foundation of where Patholos was from had been shaken, and the new man Karn had shown him that there is much more than just worshiping the Dread Father. The Dread Father was nothing for him now, he was his own man. His eye sockets hurt even more now, but he could deal with that. "I release myself from the bonds of Sithis!" Patholos yelled at the red planet. He turned back to Karn as they were riding and said, "Now that we no longer call ourselves, Dark Brotherhood employees," Patholos smiled at the word, "We must still use the remains of the Dark Brotherhood until we can confirm that the others are with us....

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 23 2007, 01:15 PM

Karn, riding

"I concur, change can't always be swift." He replied as they rode.

Then he realized he'd forgottwn something. Reaching into his pocket, Karn felt the shape of the amulet.

"It can wait....." He muttured under his breath.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 23 2007, 03:16 PM

Patholos

"Yes, it can wait," Patholos said cautiously, noticing Karn feel into his pocket. "Say, Brother, how did you survive on your own for so long? With survival skills of that nature, you could really go places!" Patholos laughed to ease the tension he had inside him. The ruins of Bruma were just visible over the next hill.

Mannimarco

Another sleepless night, yet rest is for no one, even the dead wake at my call.

Mannimarco roused himself from his stupor, and called his favorite "addition" over to his side. The "addition" had been a rich merchant in Bruma before it was sacked by the Silhouette. Mannimarco poured over the mans' past experiences, and he stole all he emotion from the mans' memory. A faint noise like steam escaping from a kettle pulled Mannimarco from his "addition's" memories. A small creature appeared before Mannimarco. "Good, Report." The creature began conversing in the Necromancers' own language. Mannimarco grinned. "Good, return to your slumber." Mannimarco waived his hand and the creature disapaited. A young Necromancer walked into Mannimarco's study. Mannimarco turned to the new arrival and said, "They have found the remains of Reman Cyrodill. Go to the tomb and take my staff. Take his memories and his thoughts and feelings. Do NOT fail me, or you will never taste immortality with the gods!"

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 23 2007, 10:10 PM

Karn

"Well," He shrugged. "How I was taught, my family was a part of a clan along the Cyrodiilic/Morrowind border. I was one of the children that strove be independant...... I could hardly work together if it killed me."

He smiled slightly, both because of the momories of his insolent childhood and laughing with Patholos did ease the stress of the situation. I'll wait until we arrive at this "Vile Lair" to contact Veric.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 24 2007, 03:42 AM

Patholos

"Not far now, my Brother" Patholos said as they rounded the Topal Bay towards the eastern side of the inlet. Patholos pointed to a small trapdoor located on the edge of the shore. "There, we go down there to confront our destiny." Patholos walked over and opened the trap door. As he began this motion, he saw with his eyes that saw neither light nor dark, but a faint half-light, the movement of other Dark Brotherhood agents around the bay. Some came out of the water, some came down from trees, others came out of holes in the ground. There seemed to be at least a fourth of the guild there. Patholos nodded in acceptance of the stealthy attitude of his Guild. As Patholos opened the trapdoor, a Dark Brotherhood member asked from the bottom, "Patholos, and your acquaintance, you are needed below." With that, Patholos descended into the Vile Lair. Before descending however, Patholos whispered to Karn, "Be wary, they may have followed us..."

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 24 2007, 04:09 AM

Karn

As Patholso descended, Karn eyed the dozens of black shapes that moved from shadow to shadow around the bay. Well, they certainly want to make an impression.... Patholos' warning seemed somewhat vague, but Karn simply assumed he meant the guilds that were activelly hunting them at the moment.

When Patholos dissappeared, Karn silently followed him down the ladder. Whoever made this place had a very good grasp of hiding it. I wouldn't have recognized that trapdoor until I stepped on it.....

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 24 2007, 10:35 PM

Patholos

As Patholos came into the main chamber of the Vile Lair, he noticed something. Every agent from the field was pulled into this lair and they circled a dais near the tree. A man was siting there and he looked very faint, almost as if smoke was trapped in glass. "What is the meaning of this?" Patholos asked. "Why are all our agents in from the field?" No one replied. Patholos loosed his small dagger and readied his throwing knives. After a tense pause, the figure near the tree in a haunting voice said, "Sithis is aware of your betrayal, and I was sent to deal with you." The figure stopped talking and red orbs of fire appeared in the place where eyes should have been. "Do you see my brothers? Do you see this lack of care for your lives?" Patholos responded, as the figure slowly rose and walked towards Patholos and Karn, a fiery katana in its hand. "Witness now the power of true Brothers, bound by no god, but only our strength!" Patholos cried, and then, turning to Karn, he said, "This is the Judgement of Sithis, this means all the Dread Father's strength will be put into stopping us. It has killed many in our order over the centuries, and there is no known weakness. Fight hard my brother, and we will taster victory!" And without looking back at the figure who was nearly upon them, Patholos hurled one of his knives at the figure and charged forward, yelling, "Narza'Tai!"

OOC: Hope I didn't spoil anything by having Patholos yell the new guild name. Judgement of Sithis, maybe the same as normal Daedra, but stronger.

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 25 2007, 12:36 AM

Karn

Glaring at the vile apparition known as the Judgement of Sithis, Karn made a diagnal slashing motion with his right arm and a bound shortsword appearing between his fingers. He said smoothly, "Come now, abomination, let's see if you truly are the feared agent of retribution or just another deluded soul among others."

Crouching, Karn blurred and reappeared just to the ghost's right flank. Gripping the blade with both hands, he prepared to slash the apparition to pieces.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 25 2007, 12:47 AM

Patholos

Encouraged by Karn's immediate immersion into battle, Patholos roared his defiance. Dodging the flaming blade, Patholos attempted to set Karn up for the killing blow. Hopefully, the strike would land across the apparition's neck. But, as Patholos went to dodge, he noticed in his twilight vision, armor underneath the shroud of black. "Armor, strike lo--" But Patholos was cut off as the flaming blade licked across his thigh. Screaming in agony, Patholos fell off to the side, useless in the battle. Patholos cast Haste on Karn just before he fell unconcious.

OOC: Haste makes all judgements faster, there is no physical affect, and what could lo- have meant?

Mannimarco

The King of Worms laughed as he fondled the skull of Reman Cyrodill. He wondered what secrets the Emperor had for him to discover. He had been dead for far too long. As Mannimarco set up the complex spell matrix to open the memories, he stopped. There was love in the remains, love for his people. Mannimarco could do nothing to open the secrets now. Enraged, Mannimarco sent physical waves of energy about his study. Rock fragments and papers flew everywhere. Damn Reman Cyrodill, Damn them All.

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 25 2007, 04:01 AM

Karn

As karn's blade made contact withthe ghost's essense it met resistance. But not the resistance Karn had expected. His blade only entered a few millimeters into the apparition's "body." Before it could turn to face him, Karn got over the shock and leapt backward.

The other asassins watched silently, to disbelieving of the situation or unsure of who was tellingt the truth to take part. Karn backed away as the apparition advanced, he moved into a nearby tunnel. His mind was shooting about trying to find a way to strike down this foul spirit.
Patholos' half-spoken message ran through his head several times as Karn tried to piece together exactly what he'd been trying to tell him. Well, I'll just have to guess!

He allowed for the wraith to get within striking distance, then as it swung it katana Karn rolled. Rather than roll in the opposite direction Karn came to a stop at the end of the ghost's swing. Switching his sword to his off-hand, Karn grabbed the hilt of the spirit's katana.

The blade waved a bout in the air as Dunmer and ghost grappled for control. The air became noticably hotter, and sweat ran down Karn's face. Aiming as best he could, the ninja thrust his bound weapon into the spirit's chest.
The blow did not vanquish the abomination, but the apparition did loosen its grip on the blade. Ripping the katana from the spirit's transparent hand, Karn discarded his other weapon. Hoping that he had interpretted his comrade's advise correctly, Karn cleaved a wide gash through the wraith's lower torso.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 25 2007, 12:40 PM

Patholos

As the blade Karn thrust sunk deep into the apparition, ichorous blue fluid gurgled out of the wound. The spirit reeled in agony as the gash began to tear the spirit asunder. The aparition's hold on Mundus was weakening, and the red orbs that were the eyes began to shimmer as a half-color, not necessarily entirely visible. The ghost grew out of proportion and imploded, sending the blue liquid all over the room. The Judgement of Sithis was defeated, Man and Mer could stand against Gods....

OOC: Don't forget about Patholos on the floor....

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 25 2007, 01:23 PM

Karn

Silence riegned within the chamber, before the throng of assassins Karn thrust the katana to the pommel into the floor.

Flames erupted from the blade and filled the tunnel, yet no one was harmed by the fire. The blue ichor however, dissappeared. Karn let go of the blade and struggled to rise from his kneeling position.

A breton assassin disengaged from the throng of of her fellows. Before she could reach him though, Karn shook his hed and indicated Patholos.
"I've only got a few burns, his injuries are more serious." The part-time healer went to help Patholos, and Karn pulled a standard healing potion and drank it in a few gulps.

Kirana

The dark veil over her sight still remained, but slowly she became aware of her own labored breathing. Next, Kirana recognized the acrid smell of fresh blood and the breathing of others around her. Her eyes fluttered open, then she jammed them shut as the light from the rising sun assailed them.

Kirana skakily manuevered into a more comfortable position, and sat up. She opened her eyes again with more success. Kirana noticed Serene beside her and surmised that the healer had tended to her after that lightning blast.
The memory of electricity coursing through her body caused an involuntary shudder. Some of her muscles were still twitchy.

Once she got herself reasonably stable Kirana muttered a strained thanks to Serene. Her throat throbbed from the effort of producing sound.

Ian

After getting over the aftershock of the last few days, weeks even, Ian got to his feet. Gathering his wits, he felt foriegn instincts take hold.... not as foriegn as they felt. Turning in the direction he assumed the Silhouete's army was now, Ian had an odd look in his eyes.

Suddenly, he fought against the reckless impulse to seek out the demon and exact proper payment for all the chaos it had achieved. "Will this disease forever plague my mind?" He asked mournfully. No one asnwered, and he felt alone for the moment.

"I have to move on..." He whispered. Ian reflected on how his vampirism had yet to be of tangible aid to the group. I can do more on my own, where my curse can be of use and I don't have to fight it so often....
With that conclusion, he blurred out of sight and vanished.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 26 2007, 01:40 AM

Patholos

Patholos cautiously sat up, after the healer from the Brotherhood approached him. He was in good condition after the healing spells were cast, he felt a little tired. Noticing what took place and remarking again at the strength of Karn, Patholos walked over to his friend. "Thank you, my Brother, I owe you my life many times over..." Patholos smiled to accentuate the phrase and he strode over to the tree. He stood in front of the Gathering and he started to speak.

"My Brethren, who are we to challenge Gods?" (A long pause, not a sound) "Who are we to decide who lives or dies?" (Again a long pause, no sound) "My Brothers and Sisters, were are scum, we are nothing, we are,....,individuals, bound by these Tenants to weaken and cripple to virtuous act of taking life. Can not a simple man take life, NAY!" (A cough in the group, Patholos looked directly at Karn with his eyeless head) "Our Dread Father grants us gifts, no?" (Patholos removed his covering, to show his empty sockets) "This was bestowed by our god as a reward! Are you prepared to accept such a gift?" (Muffled gasps throughout the crowd, Patholos moved his gaze along the audience, finally coming again to rest on Karn) "It is now, My Brothers, that we cast down these chains of treachery, we hold fast the values of life and death, and we become more powerful than any has ever SEEN!" (A cry arose from the Brotherhood) "Rise now, Narza'Tai, Rise and become truly bound by Brotherhood! NARZA'TAI! NARZA'TAI!" (Patholos was screaming this chant and the whole Brotherhood carried it on)

Patholos quietly walked over to Karn, the rest of the Brotherhood fell quiet. "Behold, my Brethren, a Man worthy of respect and bound by honor, a Man to which I owe my life. This Man, You will now call Leader and Sensei." Patholos bowed before Karn, and the rest of the Brotherhood bowed as well. "You may lead us, Brother..." Patholos whispered.

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 26 2007, 02:14 AM

Karn, sensei

He didn't need to hide the surprise of Patholos' faith in his leadership, because frankly, Karn was getting used to it. It was contagious, made even the Karn of old believe he could lead these men and women to a higher level in existance.

He took his place before the tree. Karn spoke, "Brothers and Sisters, for millenia our ansestors have been used as pawns in a struggle between gods for gods." He paced in front of the assembly, meeting the assassins' gazes.

"How many have given their lives in the name of their benevolent dieties? How many millions have had their lives ruined by zealots, crusaders, and cultists in the name of one of the almighty?" No one answered and he continued.

"The gods created everything, they have a place in our lives, these facts cannot be ignored. But as individuels and as people of free will, we have a right to live our lives as we wish them to be. Are we in debt for eternity to them for our creation?"

"No, our forerunners paid that debt for us, gave their lives to offer us a chance at a better existance than they could have enjoyed. The Dark Brotherhood was a perversion, Sithis, the Void, the Dread Father, sentenced any who strayed from his will to death." Karn stopped pacing and ran his gaze over the crowd, hand clapsed behind his back.

"Tell me, what father murders his children simply for disobeying him? We are mortals, we are imperfect, but then perhaps the gods are as well, so absorbed in their status that they have forgotten the meaning of their own pacts and covenants." Karn's voice rang with conviction.

"Let all future generations remember this era, the Fourth Era of civilization, as the age when mortals stood tall and proud regardless of the Gods and their teachings. Let the Narza'Tai be the first to rise as one to forge a future for mortals by mortals! Let all who challenge this new beginning quake in fear of even the smallest shadows as we sieze destiny!" Karn raised his arms in an all-encompasing gesture as if attempting to sieze the very fabric of reality. The Narza'Tai assassins roared their approval.

As messangers were sent to seek out the other scattered groups of Dark Brotherhood assassins with news of the regime change, Karn turned to Patholos and spoke wearily. "My friend, this appears to be a magnificent start, however change can never come quickly enough. So many things must be done before the Narza'Tai become a true force that we all hope for in our hearts."

Patholos

As if reading Karn's Mind, Patholos said, "Well put brother, I'll have a sums report and stockpile quote here momentarily. As for current matters, we must deal with the renegades, and with Mannimarco. He is still under the presumption that We are followers of Sithis." Patholos gave Karn a toothy grin, and then said, "Sensei, there are matters that might require more of your personal attention however. Emissaries from the Silhouette's army are at our doorstep, and they want the Dark Brotherhoods' help." Patholos handed a small sheet of paper to Karn, which Patholos had recieved during Karn's speech. "And one more thing, I will assume the command of a small section of our skilled soldiers, which I will call Shadow Eaters, and we are heading deep into Silhouette territory to scout. Brother, we make the world turn." Patholos' last remark was somewhat of a new saying he had come up with. "By your leave..."

Mannimarco

A small riddle played on in the King of Worms' mind, ever since he tried to unlock Reman Cyrodill's secrets. It went like thus:

Three small be what you seek,
One bound in blood, the other week,
Complete is the third, astounding all,
If one shall die, the rest shall fall
Hailing the Ages, Three have come
What unlocks one, seals none

Rann

Rann stood and walked to the boulder Ian had been standing on for quite some time. He had noticed him from a ways off, and made his way there.

"Hey, Ia-" he was obviously ignored, as the newly turned vampire disappeared.

"Fine," he said, slowly trotting back, more than a little angry at Ian.

He couldn't have picked a worse time to abandon us.

Rann suddenly regretted his earlier action of relinquishing his leadership role to Ian some time ago; Ian had made a crucial error in his eyes by deciding to go for loot, and an even bigger one in attacking a group of vampires instead. And now Ian was gone and Rann knew he had no chance of regaining whatever leadership role he may have had for a few short minutes. He'd made too many enemies and not enough friends among his own traveling companions.

He returned and stood in the center of their sorry-looking camp.

"Ian's gone," he said flatly, "And I'm tired of delaying this fight with the Silhouette. And since we are but a few small people, I suggest we hit their supplies. And no, we aren't trying to score any goods for ourselves, as Ian wanted," He said the name with a hint of derision, "We'll be destroying. Once the snake's body is weak," he continued, using Ian's analogy, "He won't have as strong a strike when we go for the head."

Issac

Although out of sight from the rest of the group Issac managed to hear Rann's new. The young man reeled as if struck. "Ian just left?" He shut his eyes and shuddered. The man that had brought him up, taught him how to live had just walked out on him and the entire group? How could he abandon us?

He has his reasons. The thought consoled him, but Issac was still stung by what had happened. He opened his eyes again. "Well, we'd better get back to the others, 'Tyana." Despite how convincingly calm he believed he appeared Issac was not at ease in the least.

Kirana

When Rann showed up again and told them that Ian had left, Kirana arched an eyebrow, nothing overt. Sighing, she fought her weakened body to stand up and form coherant words. "Well, we'd better make sure we're ready. What sort of supplies do we have?"

Karn

He looked thoughtfully at the preposed hit list. The leaders of the remaining counties and the unconquered provises? Hmmm...... we'll just have to do something a bout that. "I'll deal with the emmissary personally, we won't appear hostile to the Silhouete just yet. We need time to organize and prepare to end this war."

Karn grinned slightly at Patholos' pun. "Yes, everyone needs our services. Whatever happened to the stories that parents would tell their children that the world was a peaceful and clean place?"

Patholos

"How indeed, my Brother. How indeed." Patholos smiled and bowed out of the conversation. He turned and selected ten of the best agents there at the tree. "You men, you're with me. You no longer have names, You no longer have value, YOU DO NOT CARE IF YOU DIE, DO YOU?" Patholos asked, and the men responded, "WE LIVE OR DIE BY OUR MEANS!" "Correct, you are now the Shadow Eaters, bear your title with honor and dignity. You are separated from the rest of the Narza'Tai, you will be broken, beaten within an inch of your life. You will experience pain unimaginable, yet you will persevere." Patholos walked right up to each one of the Shadow Eators, and although some were taller than Patholos, Patholos seemed taller than any of them. "We ride in one hour, if you are not ready and on your horse, make peace with whatever you worship, for you will exist on Mundus no LONGER! Go!" Patholos watched as the Shadow Eaters left to pack and mount for a trip they know nothing about. This will weed out the weak, Patholos thought. As Patholos looked back, he saw Karn and he smiled. He is more fit for leadership, as long as he is in control of things, we have a future. Patholos smiled again and this time he turned to the exit of the lair. All his gear had been assembled by the Shadow Eaters, and Patholos yelled, "Who's up for spying on some snakes?"

Rann

"We've got weapons," he answered, "And a small amount of food. Being such a small group, though, we should be fine foraging."

Aerona

Aerona spoke up, "I have medicinal ingredients, and should be able to collect more as we travel."

The Silhouette

The Silhouette rode his tiger alongside the tcaesi, giving minor orders and always looking ahead. The Imperial City was some distance away, but he could already taste the victory to be had there.

Many thought he was merely after destruction, but destruction was only a means to get what he needed.

If only they knew...

Green-Root, awake. (Sort off.)

Pain stabbed into his side and threatened to consume what little of conscious thoughts he'd managed to reclaim. He tried to open his eyes. The strain was almost too much.

,,Never knew this hero bussiness would be so painful." He thought and managed a weak chuckle.

It took the better part of several minutes to achieve full consciousness and gather the strength to sit up. He did so and listened to the conversation taking place while clutching his side.

Ian, playing games

Sitting on a tree branch not too far ahead of the Silhouete and its army, Ian mulled over his "plan." In terms of magical arts, he wasn't very special, only remarkable due to his proficiency in illusion techniques. That disipline was honed to an edge that was quite useful in specific situations.

Paralysis, silence, chameleon, and minipulating people's impressions were invaluable most of the time. Ian however was capable of another feat, not as impressive as Karn's multiple carbon copies. But it was still worth a shot, if anything he could buy some time that could be a blessing for someone else.
As the first ranks passed his tree, the Imperial agent tensed. He closed his eyes and found himself quoting a pray to the gods, of all flavors.

The snarls of a giant tiger brought him back to the present. He spotted a figure that was fully obscured by flowing robes sitting upon a tiger. So that is the Silhouete...... It certainly stands out. Taking a final brief of respite, Ian vaulted from his branch and aimed to land a few feet in front of the abomination atop its mount.

Satyana

She nodded at Issac. It was ok if they had to move on, then let it be so. With a faint smile at Kirana she assembled her things and got ready to move. She didnīt see Serene though...maybe she had disappeared after healing Ian....and where had he gone to?

Satyana still felt the strength inside her...she wouldnīt let anything happen to those she cared for!

OOC: Iīm away until sunday now....Revie, please drag Satyana along with Issac, will you?

The Silhouette

The Silhouette pulled his tiger to a halt to take in this new appearance. By the looks of the man, he wasn't here to join them in their cause.

"Don't be stupid," he said flatly, dismounting his tiger, "It's a few thousand against one."

He gave two nearby snake men orders in a foreign tongue.

"I'll give you five seconds to reconsider and surrender."

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 27 2007, 03:18 AM

Patholos

Stalking through the woods near the flank of the snake army, Patholos was well aware of the precautions the Silhouette used to keep his flank secure. Patholos cursed, he saw the extreme close-knit snakemen watch all angles. Patholos was about to return to the Sensei empty-handed, when he saw a deer dart across the rearguards field of vision. "Come on, you snake bastardes, come on." The snakes at the rear must not have eaten that day, for they chased after the deer. Patholos ordered his Shadow Eaters to capture the pair, and then return to the Sensei.

After the snakemen had been successfully apprehended, Patholos began to question the snake men, but, nothing he could do or say had any impact on the snakemen. After all, Patholos didn't speak their tongue. Disheartened, but not disappointed, Patholos and the Shadow Eaters rode off to the Vile Lair.

Manninmarco

The King of Worms brooded over the riddle/ryhme that played on in his mind. Silencing the ryhme for a moment, Mannimarco ordered a servant to his side. "Find me any three people that have been born within the half-century that have ties to the Imperial House, however faint." The servant replied, "But my lord, that could take ages, and with the Army of Snake Men, obtaining that information could be very difficult." Mannimarco shot upwards out of the chair he was sitting in, and caught the servant's chin with his hand. Brutally, he snapped the neck of the servant. Then, using his necromantic powers, reanimated the servant. "Obey me." "Yes my Lord."

Ian

For a moment his gaze moved from the blazing purple eyes to over the Silhouete's shoulder where a bunch of men were hauling away a couple of Akaviri snakemen. Under other circumstances Ian would have found this situation funny, but not now.

Before the third second had passed, Ian jumped in front of one of the snakemen and snatched the shield from the tight, but still relaxed grip. Making the best throw he could muster, Ian let the round disc of a shield fly toward the Silhouete.
As soon as the shield's grip left his hands, the agent vaulted and swung both blades with the intent of dicing the Silhouete to pieces. In his mind though Ian knew this was pointless and would accomplish nothing..... for him at least.

Ian hoped his ploy might actually work, it would make things easier for the coming climax. Knowing Rann that wouldn't be too far off.

Karn

With four assassins in tow, Karn marched to the surface through one of the tunnels. As he and his vanguard topped the rise, the emmisaries came into view. A tceasi (sp.) swathed in robes stood amongst the company of several of his kin guards.

Karn didn't bother asking whether it understood Tamrielic or not, being to the point was often the best way maintain a charade. "Hail, Akaviri, I've reviewed the offer you've presented to us for decapitating the leadership of Tamriel."

He didn't dare allow himself to savor the wording of "decapitate" and "leadership" and their veiled meanings. "We have decided to accept the contracts, this agreement will be mutually beneficial to us all...."

Yeah, right. Even as you spoke to my messenger you were infected by the disease he was carrying. A disease that you shouldn't be familiar with, and your body lacking immunity to. And your death upon trying to reach the Silhouete will be a simple allergic reaction to a common Tamrielic disease....... one that we natives have become resistant to in the recent years. Oh and it is quite contagoius...... Beneath the cloths that obscured all but his crimson eyes Karn smirked wickedly, a smirk that the emmissary could neither see nor understand if he could.

The Silhouette

The Silhouette didn't hesitate in ducking under the shield and pulling his scimitars to block Ian's swing. They were in a deadlock, each of them with two blades pressing against each other.

The Silhouette, however, had a trick up his sleeve. With a foreign word, his tiger burst into action, pouncing forward to knock Ian away.

A few surrounding snake-men began to close in.

Rann

Rann had spent the last few moments looking inside his small and nearly empty pack. The only thing there was the gold given to him by the Countess. It wasn't much use in the wilderness.

He left it lying there as he walked just outside the treeline. He had hoped that he would have been able to energize and inspire the group to action, but he had apparently not achieved such an effect. Especially when they were all beaten and bruised.

There was some commotion far ahead, and he could see faint flashes of light that he knew to be blades reflecting in the sun. Snake men were closing around two lone figures...

Ian, you stupid bastarde. he thought, as he broke into a run. He didn't tell the group he was leaving, as his sense of urgency overcame his common sense. Many of them were injured anyway, and one couldn't be caught in sunlight.

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 27 2007, 12:39 PM

Ian

He had waited just a little longer than he'd liked. Any longer and the cat would have had him pinned to the ground.

Ian skidded back, stopping several paces from the tiger and its master.
For no obvious reaon, he chuckled, an odd light in his eyes. "Until next time, conquerer."

He pulled a bag off his shoulder and tossed it to the silhouete's feet.
As the bag landed, Ian vanished from sight...... And chaos broke loose.

Snakemen began to scream and panic incoherantly from things that were not there.
Others of their kin looked perplexed, then broke ranks to chase food that didn't exist.

A dozen large sppore pods rolled out of the bag. The pods were releasing pheremones into the air that impaired judgement and fostered hillucinations.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 27 2007, 12:39 PM

Patholos

Patholos rounded the hilltop first, and saw Karn and the emissary discussing at the entrance to the Lair. "Hold men, hold!" Patholos hissed. The prisoners they were carrying started to make a commotion, so they were knocked unconcious. Patholos and his men confered for a second, then they decided to take the snake men through the waterway into the lair. Patholos would ride ahead and talk with the emissary.

As Patholos descended the hill and finally came to a rest next to Karn. "Morning," Patholos said to the ambasador, and Patholos bowed low, according to the doctrine dictated in "Mysterious Akavir," a book Patholos had read in his youth. "I see that we have the same idea for what we have to do with this Empire," Patholos gave his signature toothy grin, and the snakeman asked in broken Tamriellic, "What wrong with eyes?" Patholos turned to Karn, and with a comic face, he pulled off his covering and showed the ambassador exactly what was wrong with his eyes....

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 27 2007, 01:40 PM

Karn

"As you can see ambassador, the Dread Father bares strange gifts."

The snake had its mouth partially ajar, stunned by the sight before him. Karn decided to wrap this matter up. "Tell the Silhouete that we shall push our brethren to behead the Tamrielic leadership."

Later after the snakemen left, Karn turned his attention back to Patholos. "So, what did you find out." Before his second in command could reply, Karn held up a hand. "Wait, I just remembered."

The Dunmer retrieved the yellow amulet from his robes. "I avoided telling you this, but I had another client besides the Silhouete. Someone who wanted the empty throne and rule over Tamriel. This amulet acts as a way to communicate with him."

Issac

He scooped up one of the packs and slung it over his shoulder. "Well, it would seem we're going west for once. At least we might find someone to help us in the Imperial City." Issac said in a tired cheerfulness.

"Maybe get some rest once we get back to civilization." Though he didn't show it, all this constant chasing and fighting was beginning to take its toll on him. I really can't wait to rest, not the rest we've been getting, but real rest. Issac sipped a restore fatigue to help steady himself.

Flogir

"I apologise for running off like that; bad memories got the best of me," Flogir said regretfully as he sheathed Iceshard and observed the damages surrounding them. Many of them were receieving attention and fortunately it looked like they'd be all right. "That won't happen again," he vowed.

With that, Flogir received word that Ian had abadoned them for no apparent reason and he suddenly noticed Rann run off. He thought he caught distress in the mer's eyes and immediately Flogir followed him, eager to make up for his previous failing.

When he finally reached Rann's side, a shocking sight greeted him. It appeared the Silhouette's army was going mad.

"What caused this?" Flogir asked in amazment.

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 29 2007, 11:07 PM

Ian

A good distance away, he stopped, leaning against a tree for support as he pulled himself together.

The spores had less affect on him, but he felt very light-headed. Minutes went by before his head was clear enough to stumble along an over grown mountain trail.

Even though the nausia had passed, Ian felt somewhat sick to his stomach.

Kirana

Having followed Flogir to Rann, Kirana found herself without an answer to her companion's question.

At least until she smell something faint, but peculiar. "Phermones.... Spores." She whsipered.

After the initial surprise passed, she regained her confidence and explained cryptically. "Just goes to show that flora aren't harmless."

Posted by: Dantrag Apr 30 2007, 02:44 AM

Rann

"Does this spore sh** affect everyone, or just those snake men?" he asked, "I just want to know before I start trying to kill one of you in a frenzy."

He had meant it as a joke at first, but found it to be a pretty valid question anyway.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 30 2007, 02:53 AM

Patholos

After Karn had just informed Patholos about the amulet, he thought for a moment. A sudden rage boiled inside him, and he asked himself Why did one Brother withhold information from another? Patholos calmed and said to Karn, "That is good news, Sensei. I have one question that I need you to think about. Do not answer now, for the Shadow Eaters and I (OOC: Thirty men and Patholos) ride to Mannimarco's Lair. The question is this, Is this the wisest choice, My Sensei, for if we follow this new persona, will we be no more than puppets with this man pulling the strings?" Patholos mounted his horse, and the rest of the Shadow Eaters did the same. Patholos spurred his horse and rode off towards the cave system that Mannimarco was supposedly at.

Mannimarco

A scout came into the cave complex and Mannimarco had him report. "Good, have the Dark Brotherhood emissary and his escort allowed into my cavern. And find the information I seek."

Kirana

She shrugged and smiled. "Oh, the spore I would have to identify first, but the wind will carry it eastward so we should be fine. Even if there were numerous pods, the agents will desperse soon and no longer be concentrated enough to have any adverse effects."

She added coyly, "And your concern for our safety is touching."

Karn

He watched the retreating forms of Patholos and the Shadow Eaters. Karn gripped the amulet so hard his knuckles popped. I will think on this, make Veric understand we have a position of power that he cannot take from us.....

Rann

"Well, you know me. Always thoughtful, putting others before myself, and all that other great stuff." he replied, suddenly feeling the urge to smoke. Maybe because he hadn't for quite some time.

"Since Ian seems to be taking care of himself just fine and doesn't need us, I've got a question for you, Kirana. Well, actually two questions."

She nodded, "Sure, what do you want to know, Rann?"

PS: refresh is a valuable asset, especially since the pages don't change until you refresh or leave the topic/change page.

Rann

"Well, you're knowledgeable in magick, so I was wondering if you knew anything about this," he said, rolling up his sleeve to reveal his tattoo.

"And if not, would you be willing to study, or experiment, or whatever the hell it is you mages do to learn more about weird stuff?"

Rann was hoping to be able to find a way to bypass the nasty after-effect of using his power, and he figured Kirana would be the best person for the job. If not, maybe there was something else to be learned about it.

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 30 2007, 04:11 AM

Kirana

She bent to look at the tatoo, running her finger along its design. Kirana cocked her head studying it to see if the image itself was familiar. Finally, she opened her bag and rummaged through its contents.

Setting it down, Kirana produced a roll of parchment, a quill, and several tomes she often used used for references. Without so much as warning Rann, she siezed his arm and focused some of her magicka into the image, not any particular displine, just raw magicka.

The ink blazed crimson, and Kirana relented. She wrote down what she'd seen, then looked at Rann. "This could take awhile," Kirana decided to offer Rann a chance to avoid any harm her poking and prodding might inflict. "Do you want me to really investigate this mark?"

Posted by: Dantrag Apr 30 2007, 04:19 AM

Rann

Rann shrugged.

"Just heal it afterwards," he said, "And while you're at it, maybe you could dig this whip out of my other arm?"

"I already know a small bit about it; it lets me absorb the magicka around me and channel it into whatever I want, though I have no knowledge or talent for magicka. And after I use it I collapse and have to recover for quite some time. If I don't rest long enough, I feel like I'm about to die."

"Other than that, though, I'm pretty clueless. I just know what my dad told me in a letter."

Posted by: Priest of Sithis Apr 30 2007, 01:21 PM

Patholos

Patholos and the Shadow Eaters came to the front of the cave complex that Mannimarco was supposedly staying at. Three men dismounted with Patholos and they went into the cave. The first thing that betrayed Mannimarco were the black soulstones scattered around the heart of the cave. Patholos and his men moved into the cave and saw Mannimarco sitting at a desk. Patholos walked up to the King of Worms and said, "Mannimarco, I must inform you of the recent happenings, and then we will decide how to control this army. First, the Brotherhood I am in is no longer the Dark Brotherhood, but the Narza'Tai, and we have differences in operations. However, we still believe that we need your help and we need to stop this army. Karn, our Sensei, has joined under false pretenses the army of snakemen and they think the Dark Brotherhood still exists. What do you have to say about that?"

Posted by: Lord Revan Apr 30 2007, 01:25 PM

Kirana, beginning

She looked at the chain whip's blade carefully. "Alright, this might be uncomfortable..."

Kirana cast corrosion on the imbedded weapon, the dagger end turned to ash and now dripped out with Rann's blood.
The scholar focused on the ash particles and removed them from the wound. Blood gushed out, and Rann'ss arm began to shake from blood-loss.

Quickly, Kirana stooped the bleeding and closed the gash. She spoke gently, "I'll wait until your body recovers from the loss of blood; then I shall continue."

While Kirana allowed Rann to rest, she flew through her books to find anything regarding magical markings, no matter how obscure.

OCC: Imagine the awkwardness of Satyana chancing on Rann and Kirana during their "study session." smile.gif

Satyana

"Ahhhrrrggghhh...Rannie! Watch it! I....ehhh..I have something I got to show you now, even though I never intended to" She cried as she noticed Kirana and Rann studying the tattoo

She approached, slowly unbuttoning her blouse....

A tattoo was visible, going from her left breast over to the right...a strange pattern and a color that seemed to be glowing.

"This is our heritage, dear brother"

She sighed and looked at him sternly....

"Nobody knows the real power of this....yet that is.."

Posted by: Dantrag Apr 30 2007, 09:39 PM

Rann

Rann was so surprised he didn't even think about the awkwardness of the fact that his sister was showing her breasts to half the world.

"I thought it came from my father's line, not my mother's." he admitted. The idea that his power was a mixture of two bloodlines and not merely that of his father's interested him more than a little.

And I always thought that purple eyes were the only thing I got from her.

"What's that?" he asked, pointing to a sketch in Kirana's book. It was obvious that he was in great anticipation of finding out more.

The Silhouette

The Silhouette slaughtered the crazed spore-inhaling snake-men around him, before they could harm him or even each other. The Silhouette didn't think Ian to be a problem; mainly an annoyance.

Flies are annoyances too. I kill them. he thought, ordering a few score of snake men to patrol the outer rim of the massive army for any more such annoyances. One vampire could continue throwing spores; it would barely make a difference.

The Silhouette remounted his tiger and made his way to the front of the army once more, the Imperial City getting closer with each step.

Green-Root.

Green-Root watched Rann run off, followed by Flogir.
He shrugged and lied down on the ground. Half-covered by the bushes, he was practically invisible.
,,Let them rush into trouble headfirst. I'm going to take it easy."

Flint Ironwood.

Flint was decidedly not pleased with his new companions. While they kept up a civilized front, behind his back they were all whispering about the 'assassin.' He might be old, but his hearing was still pretty much perfect.
,,Ah well, at least we're not too slow. These roads are a brilliant invention. Not as fast as jumping, but faster than trudging through the wilderniss."

He looked at a signpost they passed.
Imperial City 12 km.

Issac embarrased.gif

Having been close behind Satyana as she'd approached Rann and Kirana, he had noticed what she was doing. Issac averted his gaze immediately, his cheeks burning red. Although he paid attention to what they were discussing, he could not bring himself to get too involved with the matter.

Kirana

While being quite surprised, Kirana simply raised an eyebrow and allowed for an amused smile. Mostly it was due to Issac's embarrased reaction, but she returned to the matter at hand. "Well, to make sure everyone is on the same page, it would seem that these markings are of arcane origin. They react to magic by absorbing it even in its most crude forms."

Kirana looked thoughtfully for a moment, "These tatoos seem similar to those Aldmer settlers wore during their migration to Morrowind. Hmm..." She flipped through one of her larger tomes and stopped at a particular page.

"From the few records that exist of that time, let it be noted that they are often filled with biassed nonsense, they look to be related to the markings that were commonly used by factions in Atmora. If this is right then different factions used varying marks to tell one another apart and embue themselves with certain magical affects that were necessary in their day and age."

She shut the book and gazed back at Rann and Satyana, and the more distant Issac. "If I had to guess, the act of aborbing raw magic that is not completely in sync with your own puts a great strain on your body. This absorbtion is obviously much more crude than contemporary methods."

Kirana finished, "Attempting to find a way to avoid the physical and mental exhaustion side-effect will take time. Time that might be better focussed on more immediate issues......." She added, "Unless you're both willing to sit out the war until we find something solid."

Mannimarco

"Good, you showed up. Excellent. We move to find certain people that can unlock mysteries of the empire. My necromancers are herding the army from Vvardenfell this way, and my scouts estimate that the armies will clash, lets say in a few days. There will be much for me to do, and we need to hurry and find these people."

Patholos

"What do these people look like, when and where were they born, male or female, there are too many variables...."

QUOTE(Dantrag @ Apr 30 2007, 10:39 PM) *

Satyana

"You may be right there anyhow!" Satyana replied "I...had this vision a few nights ago, that you and I are more than half-siblings, that our heritage is more complicated than we know!

QUOTE(Lord Revan @ Apr 30 2007, 11:06 PM) *

Satyana

"But I am not really sure of anything so far, and I hope that Kirana can enlighten us even more...at the appropriate time! Now we must focus on what lies before us....I wonder where Serene is...did she really go away?"

Serene, heading back home....she thinks!

Yes she was lost. She had no idea where she was, other than in the wrong place. She grunted to herself, pretty annoyed that she had walked thinking about a lot of different things and then of course she had gone the wrong way. What she noticed in front of her was a mountain she didnīt recognize...but there was a dark spot at the side...was it a cave of some sort?

She sighed and approached it...with a strange feeling of familiarity ...could it be ???

OOC: I let Serene end up meeting Brianna and her gang.....just by coincidence! OK?

Posted by: Dantrag May 2 2007, 01:44 AM

OOC: That doesn't really make sense. Both Serene and the group (Bree, Rahvin, Sadril) are leaving the Cyrodiil area, meaning that Serene would have to catch up to them, not just chance a meeting.

Rann

"I don't think our heritage could be any more complicated. There's already three twins with only one parent in common. To say there's more is improbable, to say the least. I'd just say that our mother has some secret too."

It would be impossible on many levels for them to be more than half-siblings. Especially since she had no dunmer features, and he had no nordic features.

Hell, most people can't even see the imperial in me.

"What do you think, Issac?" he asked, noticing him standing nearby, "And don't just agree with her."

Posted by: Lord Revan May 2 2007, 04:11 AM

Issac

When Rann asked him about the matter all he could do was shrug helplessly. As it was Issac didn't know as much about their heritage as they did. I don't even know my own heritage that well..... "Well, huh, I guess that only your mother could identify all this for us." She did sleep with those men....

"Since no one who knows for certain is present, I don't see how we could find out anything that you two don't already know." Issac couldn't help be feel absolutely useless, it seemed like both Ian and Serene had left and weren't coming back anytime soon. With them went a lot of insight in his opinion.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis May 2 2007, 01:16 PM

Mannimarco

"They are heirs, they unlock the secrets I seek!" Mannimarco stood up and shook his fists. "With the heirs, I could unlock the secrets of Reman Cyrodill and the rest of the Empire. And this must be done quickly for there is another that may seize control before we can." Mannimarco stared at Patholos and waited for a reply.

Patholos

"I still need more information, we will return after I have talked with the Sensei."

Satyana

She frowned....why do brothers always have to be like that!? She nodded at Issac, of course their mother might be able to tell them all about it..the problem was that she was gone...or at least nobody knows where she might be, so no help from that direction.

"Issac....I would very much like to be alone with you....I...I need to..ehh talk to you"

Talk? who am I fooling? I want to do far more than that...far more. But I must not scare him, heīs such a kind shy young man and I love him so much

Green-Root.

Green-Root got bored and looked over at Aerona.
,,So, what do you do for a living?" He asked. He wasn't interested at all but anything would be better than sleeping.

Flint Ironwood.

The leader of Chorrol's cavalry stopped.
,,The Imperial city." He said.
,,Thanks for pointing out the obvious." Flint thought and rolled his eyes.

The group rode into the abandoned city and took up refuge on the easter walls for the night. The horses could use the rest.

OCC: Serene could find the Morrowind army though..... possibly with Athyn among the soldiers.

Issac

He wondered what "talk" implied, but Issac never stopped wanting to be with Satyana. It hadn't impaired his concentration, yet. Issac decided to play along as though nothing was implied other than a simple chat between close friends..... Yeah, right, everyone who has half a mind knows what's going on with us.

"Of course," He turned to Kirana and Rann. "It might be better not to wait for us to get back; just fill us in on whatever you two find out." I knew being in love in the middle of an armed conflict would be a pain, but there is almost never any time.... Issac strode a distance with Satyana, allowing for her to speak (or act) first.

Kirana

Nodded as she stared down at her tome's text, maintaining the illusion she didn't understand nor care about what was going on. When both lovers were a reasonable distance she asked Rann. "So, for how long has your half-sister been with my adoptive son?"

Kirana glanced up, her eyes partially obscurred by the rim of her hood.

OOC: Yeah! she could...ehh is Athyn enrolled in it? isnīt he too old? jeez...it would scare Serene to death if she finds her husband in an army! But why not?

Satyana

She took Issacīs hand while walking beside him. She didnīt know how to start, her entire body was aching with desire, but this wasnīt probably the best time for any...acts? Anyway she dragged hin a bit off the trail making sure they were not seen by the others. Aerona

"I don't do anything...anymore. I used to be a priest, but..." she trailed off.

Rann

"I dunno. A while," he answered, making a mental note of the 'adoptive son' part.

Issac, with Satyana wub.gif

He kissed her with the same passion she did. Issac's arms firmly wove around her waist, Satyana had his heart in its entirety. When they paused, Issac replied. "Satyana, I would live anywhere if I could be there with you. Whether it be a cabin in a remote forest or a manor inn Tamriel's greatest cities."

He looked into those violet shaded eyes of her's, "Now that I know you, I couldn't bare the posibility of living alone, without you in my life, again. When things are made right again, would you accept my..... my proposal of marriage?" Issac whispered the last words, fearing he had overstepped his bounds.

Please, my love, do not reject me. I fear in this state I could do anything, no matter how foolish.....

Karn

Holding the amulet in his hand, Karn concentrated on the message to Veric.

"Veric, there have been some changes to our situation..... or rather, my position."

Kirana

Hiding the disastisfaction of Rann's vague answer, Kirana went back to studying the text on her lap.
"I hope they don't wander off too far, the army may be gone, but they aren't the only dabger around here......" She muttured.

OCC: Kirana looks a lot younger than she really is (sounds like all mages have really young appearances). In fact, she's older than both Serene and Telina. blink.gif And looks only a few years older than Issac!

Posted by: Dantrag May 3 2007, 04:17 AM

OOC: Gonna give Veric a little while longer.

Rann

"They better not get to far, or Issac won't like me much longer," he said, only half-jokingly.

"So, did you adopt him when your were two years old, or what? You have any tobacco? Anyway, no offense, but you look more like his barmaid sister than his mother."

The Army of Morrowind

As they marched, the Army left the view of Mournhold. The slow creeping snake that was the columns of troops slowly advanced towards the Imperial City. An officer, a Dunmer officer, rode up to the Commander and said, "Sir, at this rate, we'll make the city in six days." A short pause and then the Commander responded, "Have the supply wagons catch up with us later, we march double time until we reach the city!" The Dunmer bowed and turned to his respective lieutenants. "Men, you heard the Commander, WE MARCH!"

Patholos

After leaving the cave, Patholos gasped at the beauty of the morning. There was no color in his cursed vision, but there was a feeling of hope in the distant horizon. A small tear formed and dropped down his cheek. Without looking to see if his men saw the tear, Patholos quickly wiped his eye and mounted his horse. The rest of the Shadow Eaters mounted as well and then they rode back to the lair to meet up with the Sensei.

OOC: The Army of Morrowind is totally up for grabs, anyone can take over at any time. Please use it, I won't be able to use it every time and the Army might not get anywhere if it isn't used. Also, it looks like the Army will leave the supply trains behind. Hmmmm.....

Kirana

She paused her reading, then Kirana smiled and looked up at Rann. "Yes, you would be correct; I'm a good deal older than others might think."

Kirana explained, "As Issac or Ian might have told you, Issac was found as an orphan in the Imperial City after Mehrunes Dagon was banished baxk to Oblivion."

"I was already a friend of Ian's a kindred spirit, you could say. When we found Issac, he was lying on the floor crying over the half-eaten bodies of his parents.".

She smiled as the memories came back in force. "Ian sympathized with the Altmer boy, he himself had not known his parents for long. So we took Issac in, taught him many of the magical and combat disiplines that we had been taught."

"Not all information comes free Rann, sometimes one must get their hands dirty to accomplish something." Kirana finished, "I'm older than your grandmother, but a couple decades short of a century old."

Issac

He almost couldn't breath, but the fact hardly registered in his mind. Issac wrapped his arm arouns Satyana even tighter, lifting his other arm to lie lightly on her head.

He rubbed his cheek against her's.
All other things beside Satyana dissappeared from his awareness for a few moments.

Issac felt desire intrude into his mind, but he ignored the urge.
After they finally paused, he managed to gasp, "Kirana might, Ian accepted..... us back in Leyawiin. So, yes, we need Kirana's blessing too."

Green-Root.

The Argonian laughed, but kept his voice down in case unwanted ears were nearby.
,,Priestess! Such a shame. I suppose you don't drink, then?" He said and waved a bottle of brandy around.
,,But you're probably not anymore. So take a good glug. Nothing is better to lighten up and forget your troubles for a while." He threw the bottle on the grass in front of Aerona's feet.

,,You know, if being a priestess is so important to you, you can be one. I've never heard that.....people with your condition can't become a priestess. Never seen of ones with it either but I never go into temples anyway. I'd probably end up being kicked out for soiling the floor with mud. Actually, that happened once. The local priest had it as a rule that no one was allowed to come in on his bare feet. Well hello, does it look like I can wear shoes with toes like these?"

Morrowind army.

Two soldiers whispered to each other during the forced march.
,,So this is Cyrodiil. It looks wrong." One said. The other looked around and nodded.
,,Not used to all the green, eh?" He answered with a slight grin.
,,No, it's not that. This is the capital of the empire. But where is the Empire's army? The famous Legions that conquered Tamriel? Don't they want to protect their home?" The first one continued. Both looked at the empty fort they passed.
,,Something is very wrong here."

Flogir

As the group progressed into a discussion about Rann and Satyana's magic and origin, Flogir's mind drifted off. Intense magical discussion never appealed to him, especially since most of the time he couldn't follow the topic anyways. Instead, he quietly watched the events unfolding at the Silhouette's camp.

It looked like the phermone situation was taken care of, since the robed figure of the silhouette simply slaughtered those acting out of hand. It was then that it appeared to issue sane groups of snake men to go out and scope out the area before the Silhouette itself led the army off.

"Guys... I don't think sitting around this close to the Silhouette's camp is a good idea. It seems Ian's little surprise has caused them to send out patrols. We need to get moving before we're discovered."

Rann

"You old ladies need to start looking the part," he said, standing up at Flogir's suggestion to get moving, "A lot of young men could get confused."

He looked at his bare arm before his eyes made their way back to Kirana, "Would it help if you could see this in action? Not now, of course, because I don't feel like hibernating for any amount of time, but if the need arises..."

Aerona

Aerona looked at the bottle at her feet for a short time, but chose to ignore it and pretended as if she had been too engrossed in conversation to really pay it any mind.

Aerona didn't explain that priests and priestesses of Arkay consider the undead to be aboniations, and intead laughed a little at Green-Root's story about the priest, even though that sort of discrimination made her a bit angry.

"Temples are supposed to be welcome places for all," she said quietly, "I'm sorry that priest did that."

Then she heard Flogir's remark and began to gather her various belongings for a quick move.

Patholos

After riding southward towards the Lair, Patholos saw the Silhouette's "ambassadors" going door to door and slaughtering inoccent famers. If he stopped them, and one got away, the shaky truce would definately be void. If he did nothing, the snake men would definately tell the Silhouette. Patholos signaled the Shadow Eaters over to a small barn where the snakemen had a little girl and her mother pinned against the wall. They were jabbing with their weapons and making hissing noises. Patholos rode up to the snake men, and made a circle motion then a violent slashing motion and then pointed to the snakemen. One snakeman turned at the noise of horses. He said in broken Tamriellic, "You help now, Eyeless One." Patholos nodded and dismounted, noticing the seven snakemen and the hostages. Patholos said, "Ahh, you seem to have found the local fauna, my friend." The snakeman replied, "Yes, we want to kill them, you help?" Patholos tried his best to laugh, but ever since he lost that tint of madness, he found it hard to find humor in this depressing time. "Sure my friend, but tell me, what are the plans for your soul?" Patholos quickly slashed upwards with his small sword and the head of the snakeman rolled onto the ground. As quick as lightning, the rest of the Shadow Eaters executed the Snakemen without haste.

"You'd better come with us, we'll help you..." Patholos said to the girl and her mother. "Our Sensei is a wise man, he will help you..." Patholos hoisted the mother and daughter up and his horse then he in turn jumped on the back of one of the Shadow Eaters' horses.

They arrived at the Vile Lair a few hours later, and they all dismounted. Patholos called for the Sensei and waited.

OOC: The Army of Morrowind should probably be making camp about now.

Karn

Putting back the amulet, karn paused and heard Patholos calling to him.

He approached the Shadow Eaters and their..... Guests. "Brother," Karn said. "Why are these people here?"

OCC: I hads to rush, so -'ll probably change this ater.

Green-Root.

,,Bah, don't worry about it. I ended up stealing his donations bowl, with contends. Ah, those were good times." He laughed when Aerona acted displeased over the priest's behaviour.

He tried to pull a sour face at Flogir's warning, something which the Argonian skull wasn't made for.
,,Can't give a wounded hero a break, can they? Heh, wounded hero. I make no sense." He got up on his feet, using his spear for support. Seeing that Aerona wasn't going to drink, he snatched up the bottle and put it to his mouth himself, emptying half of it in a single go.
,,Gah, my side hurts as if a dragon stepped on it. That's the last time I gamble with those pretty faces from Oblivion. Let someone else take the pain."

Posted by: The Metal Mallet May 4 2007, 10:37 PM

Flogir

Content with the fact that everyone was starting to pack up and head out, Flogir himself began to gather his things up aswell. As he did this something dawned on him.

"Ummm... fellas. Where exactly are we going to go? I figure Cheydinhal is overrun so that basically leaves the Imperial City or backtracking to Bravil and Leyawiin. I'm quite sure the army would've left the latter choices by now," he said hesitantly.

Whereever they went, Flogir was quite certain they weren't going to find happy times. With their luck, whereever they might go just might blow up in flames just as they get there. He laughed bitterly at his own thoughts. Perhaps they might convince someone to assist them because at the moment, Flogir thought it would take a great army to deal with this one. There were just too many of them to properly attempt an assassination of the Silhouette. Flogir did not voice these thoughts though. He didn't want to spoil the others' hope.

Shouldering his pack, Flogir looked to the others for possible suggestions as to where they were heading.

Patholos

Looking at Karn, Patholos responded abruptly, "They were about to be executed unjustly. It was my decision to grant them life. There are no emotions tied these people." Patholos pulled his dagger out and put it to the neck of the little girl. The mother screamed but the stone solemn Shadow Eaters held her fast. "Sensei, on your command....

Mannimarco

A sickly looking Bosmer hobbled into the cave complex. He stuttered fiercely and he had a half-paralyzed face, but this man was known for his knack in spells that deal with "interrogation." The Bosmer hobbled to Mannimarco and laid down to kiss his feet. Mannimarco in disgust kicked out with his foot and connected with the Bosmer's face. Yelping, the Bosmer rolled onto the floor and said, "My leesh, why di-, why di-, why did I deshurv thish?" Mannimarco said only one word, "Report."

After a long and hard to understand speech from the Bosmer, Mannimarco felt a feeling he hadn't felt since before he had died. Power, Mannimarco felt powerful. He now knew where the group he was looking for had been staying, after that sickly Bosmer had interrogatted countless innocents. Mannimarco, totally ignoring the Bosmer on the floor trying to get up, walked out of the cave complex. He now knew where he must go.

OOC: I don't know how the group is going to find out about the Morrowind Army, maybe the Army will send couriers...

Army of Morrowind

The Commander of the Army strode to the intelligence tent that they had erected for the night. All the officers were there. The Commander walked right in, stared everyone down, and then said, "The Neverarine is missing, Vivec could possibly be dead, Duke Dren is dying of an illness, we have little time before the morale breaks and this army disapates," Scattered gasps and grim nods went throughout the officers. The officer in charge of Cyrodillic relations spoke up, "Sir, I have sent couriers to each of the cities outlying the Imperial City. They have taken this poster to every town to my knowledge, " The officer handed a small pamphlette to the Commander. The Commander looked it over, then nodded his approval. He then said, "We
have no knowledge of these snake men, so tell your men to listen for orders in the next few days. Some of the locals have strung up the Imperial Sign on their doors, and others are cheering us. We must succeed, Dismissed."

This is the pamphlette:
"Calling all heroes and strongarms!
The Empire is in need! Fight for your country, succeed and be forever acknowledged as a hero! There is money to be had, but think of the Glory! Avenge a wrong you have committed, purge yourself by serving the glorious Empire!
-Commander (name is illegible)"

Watching inpassively, Karn said. "I never commanded them to be murdered. Let them be, Patholos."

He didn't speak with any detectable mercy, simply stating that there was no point in killing fearful citizens of little significance for no reason. "Give the survivors supplies, then send them west. No escorts, they must fend for themselves."

Tenek, sitting up in a tree

A half-heard pair of voices brought him from his slumber. Dazed, Tenek felt something crawl over his face. In his blurry vision, he saw something huge on his nose. Panicing, He accidently rolled off the branch he'd been lying on during the night.

"Aarrrrggghhh!" He landed in a puddly of fresh mud with a heavy splat. Disgusted Tenek, spit the horrible brown substance from his mouth. "Darn it, I was going to wait another week before washing!"

Rolling over he spotted a young Altmer man and a slightly younger girl that could have been a mixture of races nearby. "Oi, what are you two doing, attackin-" The fearsome butterfly that had landed on his face earlier fluttered by. "Oh....."

Tenek got up, wiping some of the larger clumps of mud off his vest. "So, anyway, who are you two and why are you here?" He got a better look at them and noticed they were still in a partial embrace. A mischievious smile crossed the Bosmer's young face.

"Well, look at the two love birds having a private moment in the wilderness.... Ignore me, I could use some entertainment." Man, I haven't had any fun in ages..... well, actually a month, but that's not the point! Tenek, sat on a tree root, with a silly grin on his face. "So, you two runaways or are you just having a moment with yourselfs?"

Posted by: Lord Revan May 6 2007, 03:06 AM

Issac

A sudden disgusting splat ruined the peace of the moment. Issac spun to face the person who'd fallen from a nearby tree. Judging from the young man's hieght, and somewhat high-pitched voice that this was a Bosmer.

"I could ask you the same thing, Bosmer. What were you doing in that tree?" Issac brushed away the dirty remarks about what was going on between him and Satyana. "Look, just go on your way, and we'll go ours."
He doesn't look like much, but anyone could be dangerous around here.

Ian

The nausia passed over time, and his past steadily bacme straighter. Ian felt very hot for some reason, then he noticed the faint smoke trails curling from under his robes. Oblivion, I have to feed before I burn to cinders!

Darting into the faint shadows of the nearby boulders, the smeltering heat vanished for the moment. He sniffed the air for the smell of nearby animals or freshly spilled blood........ Ian's eyes flashed open, glowing faintly with a foreign light of hunger.
The wind smelled of sweat, and exhuastion of a long march. Hundreds of mer, marching for days filled with the taste of near desperation. The vampire smiled an sinister smile that was not his own. It was one of a hungry hunter who had smelled his prey, inferior creatures that spilled sweat, life-giving liquid that the creature craved more than the most adicting drug.

Tenek, in glory

"You mind calling me Tenek instead of 'Bosmer,' Altmer? Savvy?" Tenek sneered as mockingly as he could.
And then with that he strode off down the trail. They could at least try to be subtle or something.....
Then when he walked quickly for a few minutes, until he saw a group of unpacking campers.
Immediately, he ducked off the trail and began sneaking up on them. When he got a few feet away, he kneeled down and decided to try to find something to steal.

He spotted something shiny in a bag and that caught his attantion. Tenek grabbed the bag by the top, and when he did, the bag's contents spilled out onto a rock with a loud clatter. Crap!!!

Posted by: Dantrag May 6 2007, 04:32 AM

Aerona

Aerona had looked away from her bag to respond to Gree-Root, when she heard the loud sound of her potion bottles breaking on a rock. Turning quickly, she spotted a bosmer holding her bag upside down as if he had just dumped out its contents on purpose.

She stood and backed away a few steps in fear, "Please don't hurt us," she pleaded, oddly not realizing that the group she was with greatly outnumbered a single bosmer.

Altair/Veric

"See what in action?" he asked innocently as he walked up on Rann and Kirana's conversation. He looked at Rann's tattoo and then back and forth between their faces, curiously awaiting an answer.

Kirana

She shrugged, giving the fellow Altmer an amused look. "See archaic magic that hasn't been used in millenia, and find a way to avoid its short falls. Are you a practitioner of the Arcane?" Who is this mer?

For some reason not known to her at the time, she instinctively slapped her tome shut feeling somewhat protective of the lore inside her books. Kirana didn't know why she felt like keeping knowledge from this mer, but for whatever reason he was an exception to her general rule of spreading knowledge freely.

OCC: Ian is temporarily descending into madness (only until he feeds again).

Altair

"I know a few spells and have some basic knowledge of magicka." he replied, acting as if he hadn't noticed Kirana's coldness towards him.

"I probably wouldn't be of much help, but I'd like to learn more about whatever you're studying." He gestured to Rann's tattoo, "The image itself is intricate and interesting enough alone to want to study."

Rann

Rann kept silent during the tense conversation between Altair and Kirana. He didn't understand why so may disliked Altair so much; he was always doing his best to be friendly and helpful and all he got was the cold shoulder every time.

Posted by: Lord Revan May 6 2007, 05:32 AM

Kirana

Of course, who can't resist learning about the arts of old? But what drives you? Power? Or genuine interest in simple understanding? Kirana mused, she faintly detected Rann's vague disapproval for not properly involving this Altmer.

Although the instinct to not trust this mer was still present, Kirana dicded to give this person a chance, if only to keep him happy.... The scholar's thought illustrated her reluctance, but she didn't believe that the other party (since Rann supported the mer) could access her musings and unvoiced complaints.

"Very well, you may help." She offered the mer her tome. "Can you understand Deadric?" More than just a gesture of good-will, this was something of a test, not many people turned up in the middle of nowhere who could comprehend the complex lore of the Deadra, let alone their language.

Posted by: Dantrag May 6 2007, 05:43 AM

Altair

He accepted the tome with an eager smile and stood there, flipping through its pages quickly, but without damaging the old book as he skimmed through. It wasn't apparent whether or not he was actually reading it, and he cleverly avoided answering Kirana's question.

In reality, he was somewhat competing with Kirana and her mind games; not answering raised suspicion and being able to read daedric raised suspicion, yet neither was enough to incriminate him.

Rann

Rann nodded a silent thanks to Kirana.

"Before we get too into our studies though, we should probably help the others get moving."

Posted by: Lord Revan May 6 2007, 06:02 AM

Kirana

"Yes, we should get moving as soon as possible." Kirana hid the dissatisfaction of having her dagger being blunted, as it were. She gathered up all her other tomes, and placed them all in her bag. Although she surrendered one of them to the Altmer male, Kirana was determined not to give powerful knowledge to someone she didn't trust at all.

As she walked back to the group, Kirana found a strange mer holding a now empty bag of potions. While one of the newer members, well, vampire members, seemed intimidated; Kirana looked ready to blast the scoundrel into Oblivion, literally.

Theatrically, she lifted a hand as it swirled with magicka that would definitally ruin this person's day.... or week. Kirana allowed for a non-violent result, and demanded. "Explain yourself, don't mince words either."

Posted by: jack cloudy May 6 2007, 08:27 AM

Green-Root.

Green-Root looked up when Aerona's potionsupplies were assaulted.
,,You go through all the trouble of sneaking in, only to steal a few potions and breaking them? Really, there isn't even a single drop of alcohol in them. Waste of liquid. Next time, stick to the money. I've seen the gleam of gold in places." He hissed amiably. Frankly, he was amused by the Bosmer's antics though he also knew that they'd been lucky.
,,If that had been a snake or worse, one of those goldskin women, we would now be fighting for our lives."

He felt at the stumps that used to be his horns and scratched the scar on his nose.
,,I lost my horns and got two brilliant scars in just a few days. I should have stayed home in Morrowind. Bashing Dunmer is so much safer."

Posted by: The Metal Mallet May 6 2007, 10:32 PM

Flogir

Before anyone could answer his question, a loud clattering noise revealed a young Bosmer attempting to steal Aerona's potions. Flogir decided to join alongside of the rest of the group who were inquiring the Bosmer's intentions. He kept one hand on the pommel of Iceshard just in case the Bosmer tried something he would regret. Only someone absolutely crazy would attempt to take on a party their size single handedly.

"don't worry, I won't hurt you"Tenek said in worried tone.why isn't any one else doing anything
well better get out of here "i'll just go my own way"Tenek said, regaining his normal state of mind standing up,getting ready to run.
"its not like i was going to steal any thing"Tenek said in his usual joking manner.

Patholos

Patholos nodded to the men, and they stood down. Patholos hoped that the men still held allegiance to Karn, rather than Patholos. They seemed rather hesitant to act on Karn's orders. "In the matter of intelligence," Patholos said as the Shadow Eaters herded the refugees away, "There are more attacks on farmers that have been reported. Also, WE need to meet again with Mannimarco." Patholos emphasized the we to mean that Karn and Patholos should drop everything and go at the moment. The Shadow Eaters anxiously awaited the orders from Karn...

Mannimarco

Seeing the camp a few feet away, Mannimarco un-cast his Illusion spell and strode right into the camp. Mannimarco observed all the camp members and judged each to his own liking. The Argonian with the missing horns and fresh scars, the old Breton with a seriously deadly weapon, The two undead; Mannimarco stopped with the two undead. He forgot all that was around him and focused his necromantic powers into the air. Nature itself seemed to fight against his casting, but he succeeded. He sent wave after wave of physical and mental energy to the dead cells in the vampires. Mannimarco tried to attune the reception of psychological messaging from Mannimarco. He pulsed one single message to the Bosmer, "I can give you all the alcohol you could desire, just heed me. Turn around and lay on the ground, face up!" Mannimarco sent the other message with some difficulty to the female vampire. He started to sweat as his concentration thickened. She had such fortitude! The vastness of her complex willpower startled Mannimarco, yet he continued. The message he sent to her was simple, "I know you loathe this undeath, this attrition to your god, this pestilence. I can fix this, just heed me. Obey your carnal desires, listen to the sweet nectar that is my voice. Lay on the ground, softly, and face up. All will end in silky comfort and caressing tranquility." Mannimarco gasped at the exertion he had just been put through. "And all this happened within five seconds," Mannimarco thought to himself.

OOC: Two things,
One, what the hell was with my "Bounty Fabric Softener" message, whoa, lay off the drugs
Second, Someone needs, really needs, to take over the Army of Morrowind, any takers? YOU! Yes you, don't turn around, I can see you! You are reading this, therefore your punishment is to take over the Army of Morrowind. Ha HA! Victory!

Posted by: Dantrag May 7 2007, 03:37 AM

Aerona

As the bosmer backed away, she ran forward and began to collect her fallen belongings. She didn't notice the newcomer enter their camp until he entered her mind.

I know you loathe this undeath, this attrition to your god, this pestilence. I can fix this, just heed me.

She looked up in confusion, unsure if it was audible or not. Judging by the faces around her, it was not.

Obey your carnal desires, listen to the sweet nectar that is my voice. Lay on the ground, softly, and face up. All will end in silky comfort and caressing tranquility.

She looked the necromancer in the eye and spat on the ground, to the confusion of onlookers.

I will find a way to rid myself of this disease. She replied, Even if the cure is death.

Rann

"And who the f*** is this?" he asked, advancing towards Mannimarco, mainly to get between him and Aerona. There was obviously some sort of tension between the two.

Posted by: Lord Revan May 7 2007, 03:42 AM

Kirana

Taking her attention off the Bosmeri intruder, she turned to look at the other newcomer. Naturally, Kirana knew who Mannimarco was, but for all intents and purposes this man did not fit his discription. Still, the Dunmer radiated power, it was enough to get her interested, but also wary.

Between that Altmer and this man I fear nothing is as it seems....

OCC: Issac and Satyana are still a ways away, Ian is stalking the army from Morrowind, and Kirana is suspicous of Altair and Mannimarco....... She has unorthodox methods of dealing with people she doesn't trust!

Posted by: Dantrag May 7 2007, 04:21 AM

Altair

Mannimarco? The necromancer? he was smiling on the inside, but his exterior showed nothing but a worried look. I could use some of his knowledge of the dead...

He gave Kirana a worried look, "What is going on?"

Rann

Rann impatiently awaited an answer, demanding that he reply barely a second after the original question. He concentrated fully on the magicka around him, ready to draw on it at any time.

There's so much power here. he thought to himself, much of it came from Kirana, and much of it from this newcomer. He could sense traces of Satyana's magicka, but she was a distance away, Aerona's was clearly present, but not as strong as the other's.

There was still one enormous source. Equal to, if not greater than the others. He couldn't trace it to any of the people around him. He didn't focus on the mystery too much, though, as he was already focused on using this stranger's power against him should the need arise. Maybe he could give Kirana some insight while he was at it.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis May 7 2007, 12:45 PM

Mannimarco

Magical backlash washed over Mannimarco and he grunted with the effort of supressing the power. The King of Worms noticed a "black hole" in the area, and slow traces of magicka were pulled from the surrounding area. Mannimarco's eye's dashed around the camp, constantly seeking, waited for someone to act. "This is how they killed me the first time" Mannimarco thought. Mannimarco, in a fury, drove his Staff of Worms into the dirt and summoned the Dark Magicka that drove the evil gods. Life, all around him in a mathematical radius began to die, a slow field slowly crept outwards in a circle. Worms died in the ground and the grass turned brown. Mannimarco chanted the dark passages that few knew if any.

A semi-visible shell of dark energy surrounded Mannimarco and Mannimarco raised his hand. He summoned the skull of Reman Cyrodill out from the dimension he had sealed it in. The skull appeared in his hand and the energy ceased. In Mannimarco's eyes, and consecuently the two vampire's because they had a connection with Mannimarco, a faint glow surrounded Rann. He was one of the heirs. The spell was too weak to find the others, but it was a start.

Posted by: Lord Revan May 7 2007, 01:20 PM

Issac

"Come on 'Tyana; we have to get back." He was certain she felt the "black hole of magicka" but Issac wanted to get back with all haste.

"You feel that, too?"

Kirana

She had all the evidence she needed to be certain this man was a necromancer.

Kirana muttured a brief plea for aid from Meridia, Deadric Princess of life, immortal enemy of the undead.
Grimmly, the scholar began going through a complex summoning. Four forms appeared between them and the necromancer.

One being was a creature of fire, another was a thing of whirling stones and lightning, third was a giant of ice and frost.

The fourth was a lesser known atronach of flesh. All four deadra moved forward menacingly. Kirana, exhausted from the conjuration, landed (more or less) in a sitting position.

She nodded reassuringly to Rann. "So, Necromancer, what is it you intend to do?"

Satyana, feeling awkward

"Yes...yes of course, Iīm not sure but I have a bad feeling about Rann...and your mother, I reckon they cpould use my powers as well....no Issac my darling, donīt ask...because I have no answer to give you...the simple reason for that is....that I do not know what is happening over there, I just feel bad about it"

Satyana sighed, folded back her hair and took Issacīs hand, whatever happened she would not leave his side....

Posted by: jack cloudy May 7 2007, 09:14 PM

Green-Root, being lazy.

,,Ah! More summoning. Fine, deal with all this yourself. I'm going to sit back, drink and enjoy the show." Green-Root hissed and theatrically sat down on a log. Or at least, he tried. His aching side took all the grace out of his movements.

Flint Ironwood.

After their rest, they'd begun moving again.
,,Boy, I sure hope we're not the only ones. Fifty men is so not enough for open warfare and these buckets are not suited for guerilla." Flint thought, riding at a small distance from the group. He thought he could see someone approaching from the road up ahead.

(That's a morrowind army messenger. Who wants to control him?)

Posted by: Lord Revan May 7 2007, 10:18 PM

Issac

He nodded, resting his right hand on Cyrorend, "Let's be there to help them then."

When they found the group along with the same Bosmer they'd met earliar, and a obb Dunmer in robes. The dead zone around the mer was all it took to realize he was a necromancer. They weren't fighting yet, so Issac put a gentle but restricting hand on Satyana's shoulder.

"Let's wait to see what everyone does before we act....." Still he, clicked his katana partially from its sheath for good measure.

Kirana mad.gif

She glared pointedly at Green-Root, "If I had the magicka required, I'd arrange a reunion between you and the two Aureal, Argonian. Consider yourself lucky that we have better things to do...." Kirana spat, not at all pleased with Green-Root, even if he was injured.

Posted by: The Metal Mallet May 7 2007, 10:50 PM

Flogir, a little freaked out

When the necromancer appeared, Flogir immediately turned his attention from the annoying Bosmer to the necromancer. When he saw the ground wilting underneath its feet as a wave of dark magicka seeped forth from the necromancer, Flogir kept his distance.

"Guys, this whole magic stuff is kinda out of my league..." Flogir said hesitantly while still maintaining his ground. "I will assume though that that's not something I want to touch," he continued, indicating the necromancers expanding spell.

"Get rid of that barrier or whatever, and I'll give him a good taste of Iceshard!"

Posted by: Lord Revan May 7 2007, 11:11 PM

Karn

"Shadow Eaters," Karn pointed to several of there members. "You will take command of the groups of lesser assassins, make certain that no unwanted guests may stumble upon our base."

"The rest of you," He added. "You shall aid your brethren by taking these." The Ninja retrieved eighteen bundles of cloth from a nearby container. "Handle these with care, they will not be lethal, but your health will be severely hampered by the disease carried in these clothes. These infected packages must rach the Silhouete's army, they will have a much more drastic reaction to the affliction than you."

As the Shadow Eaters dispersed, not voicing any possible compaints at the constant moving about on seemingly mundane tasks. Karn turned to Patholos, "Now, brother, let's find where that filthy 'King of Maggots' is desecrating."

OCC: It would be amusing to say the least if everyone in Tamriel started calling Mannimarco the King of Maggots. wink.gif It certainly isn't flattering or intimidating......

Aerona

Aerona gasped as she saw Rann's form surrounded by a white aura. She didn't know what it meant, but she knew it was something significant.

She tried not to stay too occupied in her own thoughts, so she went to work preparing herself for the battle ahead. Not for fighting, like most of the others, but for healing. All of the hotheads around her were sure to get themselves injured.

Rann

Rann saw the circle of death expanding, and backed away a few steps.

I wonder what would happen... he seriously considered absorbing all of the surrounding dark magicka and channeling it.

Then he saw Kirana's nod, and interpreted it as a signal to go ahead with it. His tattoo began to glow bright red, and he began to breathe heavily with the absorbtion of the enormous amount of dark power. He paused, though, standing there filled to the brim with magicka, unable to think of how he should channel the power...

Posted by: Priest of Sithis May 8 2007, 04:48 AM

Patholos

"As you command my Sensei," Patholos said, and he rode off to deliver the goods.

Mannimarco

"IS THIS WHAT YOU FEAR? DEATH? I CAN HALT IT! HEED ME!" Mannimarco screamed as his hair burst out from under his hood, long white tendrils coruscating with energy. Mannimarco channeled an Bolt of Void into the ground and he jumped into the air, leaving his staff to maintain the field. Mannimarco, on his downward descent, suddenly stopped. The magical power in the air wrapped around the scene, and Mannimarco noticed something odd. Small effervescent trails of energy leaked into the man surrounded in that aura. "IT SEEMS YOU ALSO HAVE A TOUCH OF BLACK MAGIC!" Mannimarco yelled. He then laughed in a deep and haunting voice suspended in midair inside his field. "TASTE WHAT IMMORTALITY HAS TO OFFER!" Mannimarco then sent wave after wave of extreme reanimation energy into the two vampires. Mannimarco floated down and removed his staff. He calmly walked over to where Rann was and touched the tattoo. Mannimarco used his mental abilities to probe around the origin, but he could not find it. Mannimarco leaned in close to Rann, and with his face in Rann's ear he whispered, "Those who kill so easily, fear death but show no fear. I can fix this problem. Have a taste of what power there is in immortality," then Mannimarco sent raw unused magicka into Rann's person. A normal person would have imploded from the sheer energy. "If it is a fight you want, come then, show me your strength..." Mannimarco laughed again, moving his gaze to each person at the camp. "Come then, show me..." And Mannimarco place the skull he had been carrying on the ground in front of him.

Messenger from the Army of Morrowind

Between ragged breaths and short gasps, the messenger approached Flint. "You men....You're....needed....at the front.....of the battle.....gold an-" but the messenger collapsed with the coordinates of the army in hand.

OOC: what's reanimation going to do to a vampire?

Rann

Rann was at a loss. If he released the magicka, then he would surely be rendered unconscious because of the nature of his ability. Therefore, he was left with the option of holding it in.

He gripped his sword and charged forward. He couldn't deny the feeling of power that cmae over him being filled with such power, but it was checked by his fear of releasing it.

"I hope you've come up with something, Kirana." he said as he swung at Mannimarco. He didn't expect to do much damage, but he did expect to make some time in case Kirana did have some grand scheme.

Posted by: Priest of Sithis May 8 2007, 12:42 PM

Mannimarco

As Rann's blade came down at Mannimarco, it struck home, cutting down through the flesh. There was no blood from the wound and Mannimarco calmly pulled out the blade as if it were made of paper. The gouge closed up and Mannimarco started to laugh. Mannimarco then cast an Explosion spell that set his own body afire with etherel (sp.) flames. Mannimarco jumped back and started to vent the flames around his body into a small figure. The figure danced and jumped around Mannimarco and he sent it after Rann. Then Mannimarco used the black magic shell to absorb all the remaining magical aura in the area. Mannimarco laughed again. "I am the master of Death, You'll need to do more than that to kill me. You forget, I have already died....."

OOC: Is Rann trying to kill Mannimarco, if he is, there is still much to do with Mannimarco so Mannimarco might have to run away just so he doesn't godmod

Kirana

Witnessing the display, she was finally able to accept a truth that had been eating at her.

Mannimarco was standing before them, reincarnated. In the face of this fact, Kirana knew that there was no way they could simply kill him.

"Alright, looks like I have to take him elsewhere." She took a welkyd stone from her pack and absorbed the energy inside it. This is suicide....

She dropped her packs, leaving her gear for the group to use with a deep breath, Kirana charged past Rann and grabbed Mannimarco.

Both vanished and instant later.

Green-Root.

Green-Root ignored the Kirana's threat.
,,And that after I tried to save you. Stupid elf."

Instead he picked up her bags and heaved them onto his back.
,,Unless anyone else feels like acting as pack-Guar, I'll carry these. Now why don't we start moving before any more unwanted guests drop in?"

Flint Ironwood.

Flint dismounted his horse and inspected the scrap of paper.
,,Ah, coördinates." He muttered and made a quick decision.
,,Captain, haul this man on my horse and proceed to the coördinates specified on this paper. I'll go ahead." He ordered and moved a bit away from the soldiers. He felt anger rise up inside him when they laughed.
,,You think you can outrun a horse, assassin? Clearly you Night Mother umbrella seller stabbed your brain."

The Breton spun around and let loose a single blast of Telekinesis that knocked the one who'd spoken off his horse with the loud clatter of iron hitting rough stone.
,,For the last time, I am not an assassin. Now just haul your behinds over there. If I don't see you in two days, I'll make sure your arrival becomes an unpleasant memory. As for running. I don't need to outrun a horse. I only need to outjump it." Having said that, he soared up into the sky.

Five jumps and scarcely an hour later, he dropped down among a group of tents that had been placed near the road. Weapons were pointed at him, most of them held by Dunmer in traditionall Vvardenfell armour.
,,Hold it! Man, it's like everyone thinks I'm an assassin just because I'm wearing black and have the habit of dropping from the sky. Say, where's the boss around here? I have to negotiate the arrival of fifty Chorrol cavalrists.
