Seeing as I was unable to get into the Ghostfence RP that has just started, but I still wanted to do an RP, I thought I would start my own one. And I have been, as you might have guessed, playing Guitar Hero. Do the maths.
So, that aside, I'm pretty keen on the idea of various musicians grouping together to play in a band for a living, and had the idea that each member of the band could be played by one of us. Naturally this will end up as a fairly small RP, with only four or five players, so it will require dedication! However, it will be more good fun than anything, with wailing lute solos, wild, all night parties, hangovers, ego (and possibly intrigue, even murder!), falling outs and gigs to thousands of screaming fans as the humble band rise from nowhere to become the next huge thing.
Vague ideas about starting
Two of the band members who know each other will decide to start a group (possibly looking for a drummer/singer/lyre player/whatever), with the auditions being the first part of the RP. There will, naturally, be a first few gigs, then a meeting with an agent, and things will go from there in whatever directions the players steer it.
And yes, if you want to parody famous rock stars in an Elder Scrolls form, please do so. It just adds to the fun!
I'll hop on the bandwagon and say that you can still join.
Anyway, regarding your idea in this thread. It's different and I don't think I could play the required types of characters, sorry. The only idea that comes to mind is that of Dagoth Ur as the lead singer, who makes fangirls faint in adoration with his manly voice (and lack of clothing) while the paparazzi write long stories about the mystery of whose face hides behind the mask.
Thinking of it, that wouldn't be half-bad as a parody fanfic.
Well it's more of a piece of tongue in cheek work than parody-essentially fairly serious, but with its funny moments. But I don't think Dagoth Ur should be the lead singer-I know from experience that zombified drummers are never a good thing.
Minque and Olen: I can still join? Awesome. Don't worry about the 2 RPs at once-I've managed stuff like this before with collaborative fiction. It has happened when I've got to write three parts up at once, but I do have a lot of spare time to write, as I'm as school and my teachers aren't terribly observant about what I have up as a word document.
Now, off to write...
