It's been a while since we had some Skyrim news now that http://thegreatgategazette.forumotion.com/t48-real-talk-with-todd-howard-the-reckoning. So what on earth could be going on? Not much now, but Bethsda added http://www.bethsoft.com/elder_council_wallpaper/ to their website with a message saying that it is "for the first, in-game look at The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim." I do LOVE http://blip.tv/file/2326804!
They also threw up a wallpaper of the sooper kewl dool weeldan dragunborm viking dood for those who want it. Oh, and http://www.bethblog.com/podcast/. Talks about his history with Bethesda, some stuff about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qd0RtabEah4, drops some hints about Skyrim and pretends to give info on more New Vegas DLC but ends up saying things http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_add-ons. So check back tomorrow for MAJOR NEWS. I'll be taking apart the trailer bit by bit and discussing it. It might be too much to hope for gameplay, but anything is possible.

Personally I'm more excited about FONV DLC than anything they need to release some more so I can stand to play that game again. I hope ppl don't get too tired of waiting on the DLCs and stop playing the game.

This looks great, but just like every other Bethesda game, I'll probably not be buying it until a patched version like GOTY comes out. I hate spending money on buggy games that I can't enjoy. Still, it looks awesome.

I've already pre-ordered a hold on two copies of the game, one for the 360 and one for the PC.

Many things that are being shown off here, one of which is most definitely the new animation system. I'm liking it, massive improvement over Gamebryo's robotic, stiff animation system that was completely incapable of blending. You could find similar quality animations on a Nintendo 64 game. 
The lighting looks a lot better, too.
I think they should keep working on those water textures, though. That stream looked like wallpaper paste. Ugh. I will not be happy if those water textures are the final ones. 
EDIT: Oh yes, since Skyrim is the most mountainous of all Tamrielic provinces, volumetric distant fogging will be absolutely essential. It looks great, realistic, and will also allow you to get away with more optimization tricks for the Distant LOD because you'll be able to hide some of it behind the clouds.

Absolutely the water textures in that one rapids were terrible - that was a total 'break from excitement' moment for me too. The other falls looked okay though. If they were trying to simulate rapids that attempt was a fail. I thought of glue when I saw it as well.
I would have to say the most exciting moment in the vid for me - and I kept rewinding it and watching it OVER and OVER again - the thu'um. That was AWESOME !!!!

Oh, I really hope they have girl voices for female players in Skyrim - so when our little girls get hit with a sword or call out that thu'um - we hear a feminine sound instead of a man grunting !!!

LOL, do not worry about that.
EDIT: Only nits:
#1 Rapids
#2 didn't see the main character's boots in 1st person view when he did a crash stop at the cliff.
LOVED:
Animation
Blood effects (it had points of light reflecting off of it, looked wet)
Saw birds in the air while the dragon was closing in on the main character
Forests look fantastic!
Town buildings have interesting architecture
NPCs in towns are actually doing stuff
Many different melee moves shown
Neck slit
Kill moves (pretty sure a zombie got his head crushed in there, some dude took a sword in the stomach)
Magic animations (saw a huge explosion!!)
I'm really liking the bow shown

Eight thousand yen says that Skyrim would hit number 1 on 2011 and keep the position up to 2211! I mean seriously, is there any other game that can beat what I have just seen??!! Well theres Duke Nukem Forever, but thats not in the RPG genre!
The NPCs, the graphics, the new animations for the weapons... Guaranteed 1 month of AWESOMENESS WHEN I GET MY PILFERING HANDS ON THIS BABE!
AND, I HOPE THEY ADD DIFFERENT VOICES FOR DIFFERENT RACES WHO USE THU'UM! The Nords, Redguards and Orcs are guaranteed battlecries! But what I'm hoping for is the Argonian! A sreech most likely, but who knows!

I wish to draw attention to the colossal mountain we see at the end of the trailer.
That is High Hrothgar, where it is believed Man first arrived on Nirn. It will likely be the dominant landmark throughout the game (much like White Gold Tower was for Oblivion and Red Mountain in Morrowind).

Also, it's a little hard to tell due to the low-quality nature of Youtube, but it looks like Skyrim will be getting Depth of Field, as well.
