Chorrol.com _ Oblivion Mods _ Some stuff

Posted by: Geonox Jul 1 2006, 10:42 PM

Heya it's been some time, like allmost a year since I released a mod. But since the vacation just started again I have been busy with several ideas. Keep in mind that the stuff I post here is just some works of mine which I have been working on lately. They aren't actuall "WIPS" or "RELZ" so basicly this doesnt means that these renders are going to be mods. ^^

anyways here it goes:

new race [original idea was to create the Irashi-ru for OB]
IPB Image
but again the engine seems to be sucky so it messes the whole head up ingame.
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f119/Geonox_2/Geo_ren.jpg is basicly as close as I can get it, mention that a large part of the face is covered up by the hair. So you can imagine how sucky it is for a modder to work with OB's face engine tongue.gif

So I decided to do another race, it's been in my head for a long time. I originally designed it for my fanfic. The design is probably not that original but there hasn't been a released race for ob which looks the same;

haircut;

note that it's done with transparant maps. I could probably make it look better. But I have to keep in mind that the almighty OB engine can't handle to much transparant maps which overlay eachother.
Which means that the haircut which I posted before looks like this ingame;

I've also ben working on a new housemod. I love designing buildings/environments so basicly I just had to do another one. I think it will be the only project which I might release someday. Modding takes far to muhc of my time but who knows ^^;

exterior building. I had this kind of market place in mind where you could buy some exclusive weapons.

IPB Image
Interior design of a doorway. This is supposed to be in the "housemod" if it's ever going to be a real mod.

IPB Image
I call it an "indoor bridge" lol. It's like a hallway which hangs on the ceiling and crosses another hallway.

IPB Image
statue which is used for decoractions on the ceiling.

so that's all for now folks...You might wonder -> WHY? why are you doing this stuff but not releasing it or making a wip project? From what I've learned wile doing mods for morrowind is that it all starts nice and cool. But once you get some nice replies from people you start to overreact and I start to get all kinds of new ideas. Like; "ohh I can add this and I can add that". But in the end the work is to much but I already made a WIP topic and stuff. So eventho it's your project you can't say; ok I quit! Sorry guys. So basicly I think it's a lot more relaxed to do things slowly and when I realy feel like doing it. Modding should be for fun not because I have the feeling like I have to finish something. So basicly I'm doing this stuff for fun smile.gif Just to keep myself busy biggrin.gif Ok...shhh....I have to goto work again I realy HAVE to finish this mod project tongue.gif lol no jk ...

Your right Geo, modding should definitely be for fun, before all else. I like the heads that you do but they do look different ingame. I'm wondering if you could make some face templates for a race, or a few that could be inserted into the face/gen tool and people could use the sliders to design them from there.

The buildings are awesome. Love the indoor bridge. I hope that you will release an achitecture mod sometime, but really - enjoy, take your time, it'll come out even better that way, right? biggrin.gif

With the pic that says "haircut" I thought it was Chewbacca that had shaved his face.
