Yes. It's backwards compatible.

Yes, if you own the Elite version it has backwards compatability or if you've downloaded the game from Xbox live.

I don't think you HAVE to have an Elite to play it, but I could be wrong. Let me go check.

EDIT: No, I didn't find anything that says you have to have an Elite. Here is the page I'm looking at: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/f/fable/default.htm

Sorry if I was unclear, I'll elaborate.

What I was trying to say is that the Elite's hard drive is backwards compatible straight out of the box, as it has been set up to play many original titles as soon as its been sat up.

Other versions of the system may require that you download an update from xbox live to your 360's hard drive before it will play, especially if your system is older. You can also download the full game from the live marketplace as well...no matter which of these options you choose you have to have a hard drive in order to play xbox originals.

Its possible that your hard drive may already be set up with the updates necessary to play it but if its not there are a few easy options to get the update.

1. The easiest way to get updates is to hook up your 360 to xbox live, silver is free so unless you just don't have an internet connection you should be set to go with this option. Upon signing in you will be prompted to download the latest update. Edit: For this method you must have a broadband internet connection.

2. Option two is to download the update file from xbox.com and burn it onto a CD. This method is useful if you don't have a broadband internet connection or you have to go to a friends house.

3. The last option is to order the update CD from xbox.com. Its free but you have to pay the shipping costs which can vary.

I've taken a moment to grab the link from xbox.com for you in case you're interested in using these options and your 360 is not yet set up for backwards compatability. At the site you'll find step by step instructions on how to do each of the above tasks.

Hope this helps. biggrin.gif
