Oh yes, the goth assassins... definitely agitates part of my brain. I've been compelled to amp up Al's already acerbic nature. He gets irritated and then starts doing crazy things like throttling corrupt town guards. Very stressful.

Wouldn't it have been nice if they'd have toned down the Dark Brotherhood just a little? Just a bit? There are points in the game where it gets campy, esp. when Lucien LaChance speaks (the Dark Brotherhood) and late in the questline, of course. Gets campy, breaks the immersion... unfortunate, because there's a lot of imaginative stuff in the DB--it's very enjoyable but the excesses make it hard to go beyond that point.

I just came here because I actually bothered to go through all my email. Apparently I'd either missed the setting, or it got reverted, sending me an email every time that I receive a PM. I'd had a couple of Emails letting me know I had PMs... Which turned out to be spambot messages back in April. closedeyes.gif

In all honesty, I'm surprised to see a semblance of activity here. Scarier yet is that I RECOGNIZE some of you.

There's quite a bit of activity right now, and usually we have more. smile.gif

I'm sure some of our older members remember you. Might even find it scary too wink.gif.

I think it's crazy how long some of us have been here. It's really crazy to read some of your old posts and see how your views and opinions have changed. Especially since I was a wee lad when I first joined.

And I just now realized that I've been strangely absent from the coffee shop lately.

Anyway, I've graduated college now (woo!) so virtual coffee and cake for everyone on me.

I don't think I've changed a bit; I'm just as cynical as always. And my over-usage of a certain smiley to demonstrate a degree of tongue-in-cheek tone hasn't changed. tongue.gif

7 days. 50+ work hours. W32:Vitro infection that made me reformat twice and consider wiping all of what I had on D partition [well, most of it is pretty much gone tbh, bulk of those works I made once upon a time is gone for good]. Wrecked nerves from the stress at work, less than day and a half for weekend and poor chances for summer vacation.

At least I got chicken. With mushrooms.

IIRC, we were both born on the same day, eh NTQ? Welcome back.

Dang, I don't think I qualify as an old member. I've been here three years (doesn't feel that long at all). It's been a great few years though. biggrin.gif

Congrats, Dantrag. goodjob.gif

Another thing i realized is that some of our join dates aren't accurate. Remember the forum switch a looooong time ago? I love how our banner is still W4O, though. Old school is the best school.

And Revan, I think you still qualify as old. Three years is a long time to visit the same website regularly.

Three years... yeah, guess I'm an old member. And I also lurked around here for at least a couple of months before I joined, too.

4th of July here in the U.S., and I'm relaxing away the day. I've got beer and ice cream (the ice cream being very important in the Mojave Desert, which is where my current city is located, more or less) and no desire to brave holiday traffic to go elsewhere. I prefer to do my traveling in the tourist off-season. Listening to The Black Keys, doing a little writing, thinking about whether or not I want to add more memory to my PC... yep.

It didn't work. I had to reformat D partition in the end. That was about 96 GB of data, movies and music lost, in total. I regret the loss of music most. -_-

...looking back at it, I think I would hate the person who made Win32:Vitro just a little bit less if it wasn't some idiot with too much time on his/her hands, but a full-blown misanthrope.

it's probably both, unfortunately.

i just don't understand the need to screw up other people's things and make their lives more difficult.
