My vote for funniest so far are the Doritos commercials, especially the one where the guy sucks the cheese dust off the other dude's finger...ROFL!

That has to be the worst half-time show I've ever seen. Slash playing his guitar was the only high point so far, but unfortunately I couldn't hear his guitar over the caterwauling wail of that blonde. PFFFT! And I thought Maxical couldn't sing!


The bald men in body suits dancing under that red light looked like giant dancing [censored]'s - or maybe a pack of escaping Oscar Meyer weiners.

I'd rather see Janet Jackson's NANA again than this !!!

Doritos cheese-licker was probably my favorite overall though.

EDIT: Timothy Hutton for cheap Tibetan food through Groupon was wrong. And yet so right, and so funny...

And yes, Malx, probably the worst half-time show in memory. Though I couldn't help but see the light suits and have images of TRON: Legacy in my mind. Damn programs loyal to Clu, fighting the Users...

Well, I'd have to say the most embarrassing moment of the entire debacle was Christina Aguilera forgetting the lyrics to the National Anthem. Way to demonstrate how far our education has come, girl!

Could someone please send her to Siberia? I don't think I can stand the shame of living in the same country as her any more.

That was obnoxious, wasn't it? And her excuse ... that she was "so into the singing" - didn't wash for me.

I'll take Arethra Franklin's rendition of "Da bombs dey was a boistin' in air...'" over what Aguilera did to slaughter the anthem anytime.

Oh, that was some debacle! I don't know how many TV screens were broken by people throwing things at them or from Rosanne trying to hit the high notes.

How about that Tibet Groupon ad, then? Can anyone forsee them remaining in business over the next month?

Wow, that was such a cheap and low blow it's oddly funny (and I know it shouldn't be). That advertising department seriously needs to be shot.

This will be a super bowl for the record books, no doubt about it...

The Cuba Gooding Jr. ad for Groupon wasn't much better. 'Why save the whales when we can go whale watching on the cheap?' It's either the worst ad campaign in history, or the best. Time will tell.

I can't see how any company signed off on that advertising campaign in this day and age of political correctness.

Kind of a breath of fresh air.

I don't know if I would go so far as a breath of freash air, but I do have to side with Mudcrab on this. Political correctness has reached a point that trying to poke fun at anything or anybody is like walking on eggshells. How did we get to where we have to watch our tongue so closely, lest we offend? And, how did the offended become so thin-skinned that they can't take a joke anymore? Another symptom of the overly litigious society that we live in today, IMHO.

I half agree. We have taken things way too far with the political correctness till our tongues couldn't cut through butter - and I think you are exactly right that people have become thin-skinned in response, feeling offense where none was meant - and we are definately way too litigious a society.

That said, however - they mocked another country. We do not have a "liked" status outside our own borders as it is, even after years of some of the worst [censored] kissing I've ever seen ... and we are involved with military force outside our borders that could be at risk from another country's idea of "revenge" - can we all say Daniel Pearl?

If they want to poke the overinflated balloon of political correctness, they could have gotten Dave Chappelle as a spokesperson, or Carlos Mencia

Somehow mocking the poor and hungry for their state of life - may be taking things a little too far in the other direction. Their whole point of paying the exhorbitant cost of having a commercial aired during the Superbowl is to get clients/make money. Over half the people that see that Tibet ad will be offended and refuse to use "Groupon" for their companies - especially if they are international. I think they just shot themselves in the foot.
