QUOTE(Grits @ Feb 25 2011, 07:28 AM) It has been one of those mornings. I just downed the last inch of cold coffee, then realized I don’t put cream and sugar in mine. But at least I haven’t inadvertently eaten any insects. Yet. As far as you know. You DO have children- right? Just sayin'

QFT - IMHO I swear I have never spit coffee out of my mouth so fast. But right now, I am enjoying properly prepared coffee and relishing the fact the I don't have to be at work until noon. The downside is not getting home until later than usual on a Friday night...but that's ok.

QUOTE Lmao! They were real crickets dipped in chocolate And people complain about my cooking... As far as bad coffee goes I'm sure the uni is getting rid of their toxic waste in the stuff they give us. Well actually toxic waste might taste better, the cold dregs in my flask from the previous day are more appealing. Makes me wonder how they make it so bad...

I bet they make it once a week and leave it simmer until it is eventually empty. Coffee left for long periods of time is just baaaaaad

QUOTE(bbqplatypus @ Feb 25 2011, 06:07 PM) QUOTE(bbqplatypus @ Feb 24 2011, 01:53 AM) I may or may not have partially torn a ligament in my leg tonight. I slipped on a teeny tiny piece of ice barely larger than my right foot and hyperextended my right leg. Couldn't walk home, so I went to the hospital and ended up getting a set of crutches and a knee brace. If it still hurts in a few days, I'm to call orthopedics.
Well, lucky for me, it looks like I'm going to be fine. I can walk without crutches now (though not without pain), so I'm pretty sure I just pulled it really badly. Good to hear ♥

I received a small package from IFSEA today. (International Food Service Executives Association). It would appear that I have passed my certification exam that I took last December. This means I have made Certified Food Manager certification (CFM). I've got the requisite pretty piece of paper and a push-pin right next to me. One of the many rungs up the ladder of the hospitality industry... This post has been edited by Thomas Kaira: Mar 1 2011, 01:22 AM

Thanks, all. Unfortunately, I've just had some bad news come from the East Coast. My dear old Aunt Wanda has passed. She was 90 years old, and she had been struggling with Alzheimer's for most of her senior years. May she rest in peace....

Alzheimers is a thief that steals so much of the person you love, long before they are gone. My grandmother-in-law had it, and I think we all grieved the loss of the person we knew and loved a good 15 years before she actually passed. My heart goes out to you and your family for your grief, your loss.
