mALX: Thanks We looked at a few examples of previous tests yesterday, and I've just grown more confident. The ones that got the highest grade had several really easy spelling errors and didn't sound particularly interesting. And I laughed when I looked at the tests that only passed, that english was lousy! If the criteria are that low, I'm confident at least half my school will get the highest grade. I've now completed one of my assignments, and another has been postponed, meaning I don't have as much work as I thought(this week at the very least). I never thought I'd say this, like ever, but I had a physical education lesson today in which I actually learnt something that I can make use of, and we had a substitute teacher! He taught us how to run properly, and it was great. I was able to run much more than I usually can. That also means that I'm really tired in my legs, and I'm gonna run about 5.3 km tonight, but it's good in the long run, right? urienashtram: Ouch, that doesn't sound good at all. I hope it doesn't get worse for you.

QUOTE being 15 sucked. Things get dramatically better from there trust me. I don't know about the school system over there but if it's like the one I went to you could try working hard and leaving as soon as you have what you need (I left at 16 with a uni place which I deferred). The real world is a lot better, less people trying to be the biggest fish in a small pond, and more scope for laughing at the ones who do try. Olen- True dat, true dat. The system here is very strict. In order to get to High School, you must meet a certain criteria with your grades. I'm vouching for the International H.Schools, but I haven't got the info yet. I hope they accept mathematical ditz! Grits- Being ganged up always ends in that way. I'm just thankful I didn't puncture a lung, because that would be so .. not so good.

Djinn: What wish would you like to have, young master? Random dude: SUPA POWAZ! -- Djinn: Is there anything I could make true, lord? Old guy: .. Youth and charisma. -- Djinn: Your heart speaks of wanting. I could make it true, milord. Me: Hmmm. I wish to know what I want. Then you could hook me up in some insidious deal, spirit.

As it turns out. I am still alive as well... @ Grits...Welcome back from Arrakis! Glad your trip went well. @ mALX...I am also dying to see Tangled. It looks hilarious. I am actually a fan of animated film. The Shrek movies, Toy Story movies, and The Incredibles...all great. I mainly wanted to stop in and say that The Talendor Chronicles are not dead...just on hold against their will. The mainstay of our company's work is property preservation on foreclosed homes. April 1st started HUD's grass cut season. Last year, we were cutting the grass at a very easy to handle 16 properties every two weeks. This year, they gave us 47 properties! And they are spread out all over the map! While the pen may be mightier than the sword, the lawn mower is mightier than the pen for now. At least until we can hire and train some help. To all of you that have followed Talendor, please be patient. He will be seeking his answers again as soon as possible. For those that haven't, now is a good time to catch up...

ureni - I hated high school. While I was lucky enough to avoid the dire pitfalls you are obviously encountering, it still wasn't fun for me. Being the bookworm (this was in the pre-geek days) didn't help me much either. And I can vouch for the pain of a broken rib. Mine happened when my five-week old colt kicked me in the chest. Worst. Pain. Evah. In my experience, that is. I hear broken pelvis is worse, but no thanks. The rib was bad enough. It took me eight weeks before I could lay on that side to sleep. Sleeping was hell - I normally sleep on my side and change sides a couple times a night. Couldn't even do that! Hang in there kiddo. To twist a well-known proverb, all bad things come to an end. It's up to you to survive. And that's what we all want for you here. saquin - I have no doubt you'll pass the English test at the top of your class! Rick - yikes! 47 properties?? And to think I thought my parents' half acre was a *itch to mow! With a push mower. Uphill 90% of the time! Even on flat ground with a riding mower, 47 properties is just too much for me. My aversion to mowing is part of the reason why I want to retire to Northern New Mexico. I'll be happy if I never see another square of sod again. And welcome back to Minque! Of course, your kitties are always an excuse, but that doesn't mean all of us are going to accept that! (And that's coming from someone who's as crazy about her cats as you are!) TK: I remember freshman registration too well! I wanted the Shakespearean Comedy class for my English requirement, and got stuck with Poetry of Walt Whitman instead. However, in hindsight, it wasn't that bad a deal - I was actually surprised by how much I liked WW. I just registered too, myself. Yup, I'm heading back to school for an MBA to follow my DVM. Am I an overachiever? I don't know. Do I get bored easily? Yup. Do I like business? More and more with each passing year.

QUOTE(ureniashtram @ Apr 12 2011, 02:38 AM) BARELY alive. Turns out when Japanese delinquents turn into Junior High Seniors they get to act like some mafioso or yakuza-to-be. I have foretold and that has come to pass. I am currently nursing a wounded pride, a broken rib and a left blackeye.

And to put cherry on the top of the ice-cream, just not too long ago me and my bike have crashed against another bike-rider. Luckily none was hurt, no property was damaged (I hope), we exhanged some sumimasens and went our merry, separate ways.
Anyway, my studies are going fine (if anyone cares, that is) and the teacher's not one of them Genkotsus. Still, though, the road ahead of me is still a very thorny one. Five aptitude tests lie in ambush and that's not counting the semesters'.
mALX- Train ... teenager? Dear Resident Kitty, those two words NEVER add up. No matter how much distance you take him away from his beloved console or pc, no matter how much you scold him, a teenager is a teenager. Just kidding, of course. One way to bully have your will enforced on him is to ACTUALLY threaten him about destroying 'repairing' his beloved console or pc.
GAAAAH !!! That is a bad week !! I hope you are okay now !!! I'm glad your studies are going great - don't worry about the aptitude tests, they are fun and there is no way to fail them. They just tell you the type of career you will be best suited to work in. Me discipline a teenager? ROFL !!! Er ... no, lol. I knew you could ace that test, your comprehension of English is exceptional !! Running that long in a way you were not used to doing it will make your legs hurt for just a little while because you are using different muscles than you were before - but that will go away quickly. Congrats on Acing the tests, I knew you would do great !!! QUOTE(TheOtherRick @ Apr 13 2011, 07:45 AM) As it turns out. I am still alive as well... @ mALX...I am also dying to see Tangled. WOO HOO !! Tangled does look hilarious, I can't wait to see it as well. I saw the first Toy Story and Shrek movies REPEATEDLY along with Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, All Dogs Go To Heaven, The Pagemaster, etc., etc. (bought them all for my son and supervised him as he watched them ... over, and over, and over again). Raising children can turn a parent off animated stuff after a while. I had nightmares about Steve from Blues Clues, no lie. I ended up forbidding the TelleTubbies from my presence, they gave me the creeps. SpongeBob Squarepants - His obnoxious laugh echoed through my brain for years, (however, I must admit I did find that show hilarious). Still, I was SOOO relieved when my son decided Amanda Bynes was more to his taste than Sandy the Squirrel. I wholeheartedly supported his move into shows that featured real people. (And I liked the "Amanda Please"). He did get back into cartoons, but they were Southpark and Family Guy - I love them, lol. QUOTE(minque @ Apr 13 2011, 12:03 PM) Hi! Just to show that I'm still alive! Sorry for being so absent...I promise I'll do better from now on... YEAH !!! Minque !!!! Then you will get to see the best parts of it. And once you get out of High School, people have matured and quit acting like delinquents hopefully, lol.

QUOTE(Grits @ Apr 16 2011, 08:58 PM) We’ve had some storms, but Grits and family are fine. Not even any trees down. Shocking damage around us, but we can still walk down the street and get a latte and an ice cream cone. Tornados, hard to believe.
Your weather sounds really scary. Glad you and yours are okay!
