Singing? Of course there's singing! Alleluia! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!
Those of you who think church is all gloom and doom and heavy handed organ playing ought to come listen to our organist. Normally she plays the piano at our services, but on special days (like Easter today) she plays the organ. This woman is a gift from God - she can take our old, worn out broken down organ and turn traditional hymns into jazz riffs. The same songs played in other churches on their organs are just heavy and ponderous and dull, dull, dull.
Anyway, Happy Easter to my fellow Christian friends here at Chorrol.com. And to those of my friends here who are Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, pagan, or otherwise, Happy Spring Day. Ah, but those in the Southern Hemisphere, may your fall day be crisp and delightful, as well!

A happy Easter from me as well!
A great thing about scotland is that when your rolling eggs, the hills are so big you can spend a very long time just rolling eggs.
Me and my Gf went up to the cairngorms for the day, and didnt get back till seven!

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Our car almost spoiled our plans, but thankfully we were able to fix it and spend a lovely Easter Sunday with my in-laws. My daughter had her first real Easter egg hunt, and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the delight on her face. Strangely enough, however, she appears to suddenly be afraid of trees! She wouldn't retrieve an egg that was hidden within a small hole in the tree because, in her words, "Icky! Bees! I scared." So, we had to get that one for her, but it was all a lot of fun. (Oh, and just to let you know, there were no bees or bugs within sight by the tree, so we don't quite know where she got that impression...? lol) This post has been edited by Lady Syl: Apr 25 2011, 05:12 PM

Looking in to let you know that I'm still alive. The test went ok I think, it was a really boring subject(Across borders- about relations across countries or such) but I think that what I managed to write will suffice. Now though, I've got to write an essay and draw a picture for art and... Yeah, I've got a lot to do. Happy easter

YEAH! We got our electricity back !!! The super cell that hit us on MONDAY knocked out the power. I was alone in the house when the power started flickering. It had been sunny all day, so I thought someone had hit a pole, but when I peeked outside and saw it coming I ran to get the pets in QUICKLY. The power went out seconds later and the storm hit seconds after that.
I was alone in the dark while this thing pounded us - scared to death it was going to pick up the house (AKA Wizard of Oz).
11 people died in the storm. 44,000 people were without power at first, yesterday morning it was 8000. Our phone is on the internet, so we had no phone either. Being in a rural area, our power was one of the last to be turned on. There are still several thousand without power as I type this.
I hadn't had time before it hit to unplug any electronics so I was really glad my PC came up just fine when the electricity was back this morning !!
We fared fairly well, only numerous shingles to replace on the roof and had to repair the gate for the dog pen, it was ripped from side of the house. I had to search for their water trough, it had been picked up and dumped.
The cell that is coming through today is supposed to be worse, so if I'm gone again you will know what happened, lol.
YEAH !! It is so good to have electricity again !!!!

Sounds worrying. Hope your ok and power stays in. Just remember if your house is picked up that bloke in the emerald city is a bit of a fraud... and don't go talking to any lions. Also the Yellow Brick road has a lot of speed traps now so watch you don't get a ticket... Nothing so dramatic here. It's a brilliant day and I'm stuck in trying to learn physics - having computers do all my maths for me for the last year may have impacted my ability on paper a bit.... Absolutely stay safe today, mALX! And you too, three dog wonder!
Talk about keeping a weather eye out! I'm supposed to walk the dog for a friend (she had hip replacement surgery over a week ago), but it's been raining yesterday and today. I'm thinking of just taking her out anyway, as she hasn't had a walk since Sunday. She's a very energetic English Springer, and needs her exercise (as do I!). It seems since Monday we've been brushed by the northern edge of the same system that hit mALX earlier (and will hit her again, it seems).
I have additional news as well. I have enrolled in an MBA course and will start classes on Monday. As it's all online, I will have the flexibility to visit with my Chorrol friends, but you might see less of me.
OHDH hasn't died yet! I'm just finding the next chapter very difficult to write. Believe me, once I have it tweaked to my (and Julian's) satisfaction, I will resume posting!
