It was probably the same system as the big one we got last night.

Fortunately all the upwind trees are little ones - no falling on our roofs 'round here! No damage to the townhouse, either. Still, we had tornado watch until 1 am. Fun. How the heck are we supposed to see a tornado coming in the dark??

Good to hear about your arm, Haute. I hope the stiffness goes away soon.

And the falling trees and twisters sound awful sad.gif

So I'm happy, I finally got a job. smile.gif Its decent and the people I work with seem nice. And one of my co-workers is the mother of a friend I knew in high school. That was quite a shock.

And since its summer my youngest brother is on summer break. So he's home all day long. Fighting with his older brother. And with Wrothken. And with everyone else. -_- Fighting at 2 in the morning
>.< Fall can't come soon enough!

So I mentioned the tree on the roof... I have removed the "easy" parts, but need to sharpen the chain on my saw for the last bit. So here is a picture....

Whoa!

Surprising the house is still standing, if that's just a "last bit left!"

Wow. Like everyone around here, I'm suprised the house' still standing. Made of stern stuff that house, eh? Good luck on removing the last part. Go crazy on it, is my advice. Rev her up and start ... slashing? Yah, that's it. Slashing.

Tomorrow, is going to be a bad day. Why? Swimming class. I mean, I like drinking large quantities of water.. But. Large quantities of water drinking ME? That's when things change, homboi. wish me luck that i don't drown in a 6ft deep pool.

Lol.

Yikes, tree! Are you sure no chitlins were involved? I hope everything made it to the ground gently this weekend!

I hope tomorrow goes well, ureniashtram. Sounds like another case for Fin Gleam.

Whatever you make your roofs of over there it's strong stuff to have held that. Glad it did though I'm not sure how you get it off now blink.gif Nothing so exciting here (fortunatly), in fact nothing exciting at all. I'm preparing to move house, but don't strictly have anywhere to go yet... how hard can it be?

The good thing(s) about it- the tree was a willow- thus not as dense or heavy as some, plus it was dying back, and finally- the section of roof is at least over the garage...

Another View

That picture shows how it shattered over the ridgepole.

Getting it down has been a matter of sawing and dropping things over the side. More to be done next Saturday...

Ureniashtram- time to visit Weye and pick up the Jewel of Rumare.

mALX Wow, a female that is aware is probably less rare now than it once was but no less impressive to me. I still get blank looks when I try to mentor someone on how to make repairs, mostly from men, nothing derogatory there fellas just plain truth. And yes, Treydog, you need to check the integrity of the eave as well as making sure none of the shingles were damaged.

Treydog if you fall off of that roof that will only be half of what you suffer!!!!!

I just like to see things get fixed early on while they are still relatively cheap and easy to fix, ROFL !!! Not sure if that is being practical or just being tight with my Septims, lol.

Build yourself some form of victory display out of the wood you get from it and display it on your roof Treydog, that way all other willows will know of the fate they shall meet if they dare to attack your roof again.

I've finally managed to secure myself some museum work for the Summer! I'm going in tomorrow to sort out my training. And it's not just front desk stuff, i'll be working with their archeaologist in the catalogues!

A very hot day in good old England. I thought I was going to melt until the timely arrival of a rain shower. Looks like a thunder storm is on the way, how exciting! cool.gif Now I'm sitting back with a cup of tea in the comfort of my bedroom.

Ahrenil, that sounds exciting. Congratulations!

hazmick, I hope you had an enjoyable thunderstorm and tea break.

We had a thunderstorm here, too, but I was not happy. I had a bunch of guys eighty feet up in a pine tree, and they wouldn’t quit working. It has been a sad tree day in Grits world. My favorite but also potentially most lethal tree in the neighborhood had to come down. Too damaged by wind and ice storms. The squirrels are going to be very confused this afternoon.

DAMMIT!!! FIRES!!! GAAAHH!!!!!

Another wildfire has just been kindled. It started very close to where the old Cerro Grande blaze was ignited, and once again, Los Alamos (and the radioactive materials kept in the labs) are threatened.

Smoke is back with a vengeance, too.

Now I know what it's like to live in SoCal. wacko.gif

That's one thing I DO NOT miss about Cali!!!!! I lived in Victorville which was just "up the hill" from San Bernardino in the High Desert and there were wild fires way too often. They would close the 15 due to the smoke and high winds. I feel for you Thomas!!!! Hope it gets doused very soon.

mALX either way you are paying attention which is more than I can say for the vast majority of the women that come in to see me for help. It is wonderful when they "get it" but most of the time they don't, sad but true. I have told more than a fair share the only thing keeping them from being able is in their own mind.

Once again, this is another ‘I’m back’ post. Life has slipped an inordinate number of Jeffreys into Destri’s world this year. I’ve worn the Furry Walls in my house to a nub. It will take me awhile to get re-caught up with everyone’s stories (and my apologies to TK and TheOtherRick for never even commenting on yours), but I will get there. I will also get back to updating Interregnum as soon as I can. Sorry for leaving you all for so long.
