So my family is away on our fabulous adventure trip without me, and I think they are a little worried that while they are gone I will change the locks. They left me a gift to open each day that they are gone. Yesterday it was a box of chocolates wrapped with a Blu-Ray copy of Return of the King. (We have a long-standing tradition of disguising obvious gifts like CDs and DVDs. Last year I wrapped The Boy’s video game in a huge box with a brick duct taped in the bottom. The game was taped inside the box lid.) I have been complaining about always getting the crappy half-broken PS3 controller. I recently discovered that both of the controllers are the crappy one, cue more complaining. Today’s gift was a new RED controller! That beats the hell out of my gift two years ago, a red washing machine. Merry Christmas to me!

Especially if it was red, the dryer has to match. But if it sits within the approximaty of your kitchen, it may strike your husband (suddenly and oddly) that the stove and refrigerator don't match it. Then you end up with having red kitchen appliances. That is the real issue with getting a red washing machine. This post has been edited by mALX: Dec 21 2011, 03:38 PM

As with cars, I'm sure that means it's faster!

It does NOT match the dryer, and it is in the kitchen but concealed. You’re right, it’s a potentially dangerous decorating situation. The washing machine broke right before Christmas and it was kind of a laundry emergency, so I said I would take pretty much anything that was sitting in the back room if it would fit. They had a red one. Hey, it was Christmas, and the surprise purchase meant no real gifts for the grownups, so whatever. The delivery guy did tease me about the dryer not matching. Fast forward a year, and the fridge breaks right before Christmas (last year). Again the timing makes it an entertaining emergency. The same guy came to install the fridge. He came in to check out the space, recognized me, walked around and looked at the red washing machine, and immediately said that this year it was supposed to be a red dryer. WTF, how many thousands of people did he meet last year? It was hilarious. Acadian, I'm sure you're right!! I will be able to bump up the difficulty slider with my Red Controller of Awesome.

Washing Machine Store Employees: "We finally got rid of that special order cancellation! You know, the red one!" BOLD: Like any other red sports car washer, it will go from mild to wild with the flip of a switch ... as if you want washing clothes to be a race to the folding session, ROFL !! *

Woo after having the worst first year in college, I have (this is my third semester) Successfully raised my GPA from a 1.7(I was in suspension but appealed it) to a 2.0! So i'm going to the advisers next week to change my major to Computer Science, you know something that I really enjoy but since it requires math I had originally tried to major in Anthropology. Either way I'm happy!

I'm better enough to go online and complain, so I guess I'll live. This morning was very, very ugly! Thanks, mALX! Still, I'm not going at ask about what food you're fixing until a little later. ...Well, I could stand to hear about some cookies. And is anyone baking pies?

I'm making both cherry and caramel apple pies. No pumpkin this dinner, but we'll have another one before the holiday season ends next week, lol. Tonight is cheesecake night. I figure if I'm going to have to diet from stuffing myself Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners - I may as well enjoy myself first, ROFL !! This post has been edited by mALX: Dec 25 2011, 03:02 AM

QUOTE(Arcry @ Jan 2 2012, 11:31 AM) A late Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all! I'm back! Oh, and good morning to those you that have risen this early! Busy I have been, with the illness and the death. Sad sad time December has been. Grandad Cliff passed a week before Christmas and the day before that wondrous day my uncle Lee had a heart attack (Though he is a tough one. Cut cancer right out of his nose last year. He is doing fine btw.) I have made my peace with Grand dad Cliff so that pain is passed, as best it can anyway..... What else... Incurred an illness... Oh and I have started up a deviant account for a few works I do here and there... OH! And I go back to NOC (Northern Oklahoma College) on the tenth. Thats about it!
I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandad Cliff, it sounds like you and he were close, is clear he meant a lot to you. I'm so glad your Uncle Lee is recovering well, and that you were able to kick your illness though. 2011 may have ended badly for you, but maybe that's a sign 2012 will be a better year and bring good things. Congrats on your college!
