QUOTE(mALX @ Jan 27 2012, 06:43 PM) QUOTE(Darkness Eternal @ Jan 27 2012, 11:11 AM) The next day it was the full moon, so she transformed into a werewolf and killed a few people in the forests surrounding Falkreath. She woke up naked from her nightly escapades. It was Sundas, so it made sense to go to the Underforge to pray to Hircine to thank him for a plentiful and glorious hunt.
GAAAAH !!! Lets hope they were bandits, lol. (I haven't been a werewolf yet in Skyrim) - but I like that the werewolf transforms into nakedness. My werewolf mod in Oblivion would transform into a fully clothed being, which felt a bit off for immersion (but was still an Awesome mod). Some where...but some where regular hunters. I wish there where lunar or forced transformations as the other ES games. Now we just have to RP it. Out of all the werewolves, we had to become the ones who can transform at will without the forced transformations But yeah, the immersion is great in Skyrim. Never tried Oblivion for the PC though.

The mod I had for Oblivion had forced changes when the moon was at a certain stage. She was in the middle of the Imperial City one day and transformed - she had to run for her life, everyone attacked. Plus if she fought someone and they lived, they would become werewolves and followers. Awesome mod !!

Caerellin scrambled over the edge of the cliff and dropped onto the ledge he'd spied earlier. The wolf completely failed to stop at the edge and dropped, yelping down to the bottom. Climbing back up, the Bosmer carried on up towards the fort at the top of the mountain above Helgen.
Noting a frayed flag he walked a few paces and stopped.
Something was wrong.
A ghostly female shape rose from the ground and screamed. Several small snowball shapes detatched themselves and flew at the Bosmer. Both the scrounged Imperial swords in his hands, he hacked and slashed at the wisps.
Taking the odd pot-shot with his flames, Caerellin quickly realised he was in trouble. Turning the flames on his own feet that had been iced to the floor by the wisps he ran...And ran...And ran...Into another wolf.
Turning his head he watched the following wisps fall on the wolf and kept running.
Deciding to head for Riverwood, he decended the mountain into the quiet town.
It was night but the store seemed to be open. Having many things to exchange for gold, he went inside.
The keeper and his (by the sounds of it) sister were in the midst of an argument when The Bosmer walked in. Apparently burgulars had made off with something.
After the Storekeep had taken Caerellin's loot, the Bosmer asked of the theft. To which the Keep directed him to Bleak Falls Barrow.
"Thet don't call them names like that for nothing do they?" asked the Bosmer of the sister that had accompanied him to bridge at the edge of the town, "Why was it never Friendly and Comfortable Barrow?" he smiled and sighed.
She laughed, "No, I suppose not...Um...Come back, won't you?." and kissed Carellin on the cheek. Then she left him behind, and headed back to the shop.
He raised an eyebrow. Then he turned his head, and walked towards the peak...

Out of all the werewolves, we had to become the ones who can transform at will without the forced transformations Ive never been interested in werewolves or vampires before, I think because they have just seemed too evil. Now in Skyrim they can be too good. Forced transformations would definitely push them back into the grey area. Thats pretty much how I played Jensa until the quest that gave her the ring. It brought the temptation and conflict back, instead of just giving her a Hairy button. Carellin, I think she likes you! Jensa found some Ancient Nord Armor on her last mission. Despite her very low skill and lack of perks in Heavy Armor, now its the only thing she wants to wear. Heavy armor. Right. Heres a page from her journal: Im helping Aela with a hunt, something shes been reading books to find. She told me she would be honored if I joined her. I think she got that backwards, but I was too choked up to say. Things have been off between us since what happened with the old man. His choice doesnt make her wrong any more than it made him right. If I could pray, Id ask for the strength to follow him. Maybe that makes her uneasy.
Hunting with Aela is as pure a joy as I know how to find with my boots on. She was raised wild, and she hunts just like I do. She knows how to use her skin to read the breeze and keep her scent from the prey. She can ease through brush without touching it, and her feet slip under the leaves to find the silent ground. She said she felt our brothers spirit with us. I feel it, too. When hes near, all my doubts just burn away.
Were only going to camp for a few hours, until moonrise. Aela doesnt sleep much either. I dont know what she has in mind for tonight. Maybe more travel. I sure hope she loosens up a little. All I want is for us to run under the moons together.

Uthgerd the Unbroken pushed Caerellin against the wall and kissed him deeply. The Bosmer thought it rude to complain and let it carry on for a time. Pausing to come up for air, she said,
"Why don't you and me go rent the room?"
"Oh, I'd love to," he said, raising an eyebrow and smiling, "but I have to get off."
"Yes," the Nord answered, "that was my idea. Aww, come on, you've already had me on the floor once today...Granted, I shouldn't have picked the fight with you, but damn," she pushed against him again, "You give good grapple man."
"Sadly," his eyes followed the curves of her armour down, "Silent Moons Camp awaits my particular attention...By order of the Jarl...Apparently."
Uthgerd pouted then kissed him deeply again and released him. "Well, my moons will have to wait then. 'Till you return, Bosmer."
"Thy will be done milady" Caerellin bowed.
"Yes, I will...As will thine..." the Nord countered and walked off with a wiggle.
Caerellin watched her walk away, raised an eyebrow and left The Bannered Mare.
-----------------------------
The Bosmer watched as his wolven familiar tore the throat out of another bandit. Caerellin smiled and launched himself off the stairs. The two conjured swords ripped through the large bandit with the warhammer and the man fell in pieces.
Dispelling one of the swords, Caerellin whirled around and shot a firebolt out at an advancing bowman, who was busy trying to skewer the Bosmer with pointed sticks.
The wolf blurred as he sped at the archer who had dodged the firebolt. The bandit tried to turn and fire at the ghost, but the ursine spirit bowled him over and made short work of his despatching.
"Good boy." The Knight said to his familiar, which replied with a joyful "Awrooo!!"...
Caerellin smiled. "Come on, the chief will be inside."
The wolf wagged it's tail.
-------------------------
Minutes later it was done.
Taking the proof of the Chief's death with him, Caerellin noticed the dungeon reced back to a heavy door. This one with another bandit guarding.
He appeared to be drunk.
The Bosmer looked down at his familiar and shrugged. "Fetch?"
The wolf sped off and flattened the guard.
"Awrooooo!!!"
"Heh...Yes, good boy."
Caerellin unlocked the door and peered about himself.
"Ooooh, look boy...Potions..."
The wolf wagged its tail.
"Nevermind"
Caerellin pocketed the phials and looked at the ladder up. He then looked at his familiar.
"How are you at climbing?..Ach, see you up there...Sorry boy."
The Bosmer climbed and came out of a trapdoor above. He walked to a portcullis and pulled the chain to the right of it. Outside, the wolf wagged his tail as he smiled at Caerellin.
"Good boy."
------------------------------
Hours later it was done.
"Good boy." said a smiling Uthgerd the Unbroken...

@ McB - GAAAAH !!! I hate those snowy wisps !!! Ah, the sweet Camilla Valerius (HA!) is making a play for Caerellin, be careful wearing any Mara amulets around her, you may live to regret it, lol. It took me a while to realize a name like 'Uthgerd the Unbroken' was a female (had to look it up finally, lol) - I kept re-reading the first line thinking Caerellin was flipping from male to female and thinking, "wait...huh?" ROFL !!! Yeah, some coffee is in order, lol. @ Grits - Nice screen !! This paragraph was outstanding!! : QUOTE She knows how to use her skin to read the breeze and keep her scent from the prey. I think it is totally AWESOME that these people really go out and do stuff, not just the player !!! That used to bother the H out of me in Oblivion that my character was the only one with a contract, lol. I'll bet Jensa is glad she helped them now, lol. @ KC - Oh, I saw that screen before, and didn't know what was going on !! Nice to get the background on it !!

Now in Skyrim they can be too good. Forced transformations would definitely push them back into the grey area. Thats pretty much how I played Jensa until the quest that gave her the ring. It brought the temptation and conflict back, instead of just giving her a Hairy button. [/indent] SPOILERS AHEAD. READ AT YOUR OWN WILL:In my honest opinion, I don't see werewolves as evil. It would be like calling a wolf evil because it needs to survive. And yes, werewolves need to kill to survive. Each game it's been shown they have to kill a person to gain health one way or another. Forced transformations is just part of the "curse" or "gift". The companions have been shown to have more control, even shifting to wolf form and back as in the case of Farkas when surrounded by the Silver Hand. Though Aela said some go insane and lose themselves to the Beast within, as we have seen in Daggerfall(Some Lycanthropic characters hated themselves, and one even commited suicide). In Bloodmoon, we encounter insane werewolf NPC's such as "Gibbering idiot" or "Ravening lunatic". And in Skyrim, we have Sinding, who is bound by lunar transformations and ends up killing a little girl because the Beast within manifested to a point where it goaded him to kill. Of course, most werewolves can shift at will. In Daggerfall, they have more control and can shift into the Beast, yet they are still bound by forced transformations and would require a relic of sort to control it, such as the ring of Hircine. In Bloodmoon, it's safe to say werewolves had a nighly transformation because of the Bloodmoon itself. Hircine, hosting a Great Hunt for his Hounds and children, would not have time to wait twice a month for his werewolves to root out the prey and find the greatest hunters. It would be unlikely, so it's obvious their powers were increased and placed in overdrive, resulting in a nightly transformation. With the thoughts of "good" and "evil" when it comes to werewolves, I would say they are neither. first, because killing to survive in and of itself, is not an evil concept. Killing children, yes, is a bit malevolent, but when it is to survive, then no. Natural predators sometimes go for the weak and the young when available, so it makes sense for a werewolf to want to kill a child. Now, I am not saying Sinding had to survive, or whether or not he actually transformed into a werewolf, but we can speculate safely that he did. And his condition is not like those of the Companions, who had the Lycanthropic problem for a few centuries based on a pact with the Glenmoril Witches who made them stronger(The ritual itself was unknown, but we can all assume that the "power" they received was to transform at will, sans the lunar transformations.) Even so, they also suffer from mental problems as Kodlak mentioned in his journal while some have greater willpower to not succumb to their murderous urges: "The twins and I have chosen not to give in to the beastblood. For me, it's provided a clearer head, but Vilkas seems to be suffering a bit for it. Farkas seems completely untroubled. That boy continues to amaze with his fortitude." Hircine is the manifestion of the hunt, which naturally, has no morals in it. Kill to survive, kill for sport, and etc. Yes, killing for sport can be considered evil, yet how much control does a werewolf have? It's grey, in a sense, because they know what they become every full moon, or what they do each time they shift. Yet is it evil for the wolf within to naturally want to kill to feed to sustain itself? Which all narrows down to evil being a point of perspective. Sinding, Farkas, Vilkas and Kodlak all see it as a curse, even if the first learned to accept it if he lives. While Aela, Skjor and even Tharsten-Heart Fang enjoyed it and saw it as a gift because of the greater power it offered. And it all comes down to willpower and control of themselves. Werewolves are two in the same. A man or woman with a seperate alter ego living with them; An animal, a Beast, which desires to hunt and to kill. And that is what I find interesting. Werewolves have to walk the line between beast and man, humanity and savagery. It's up for the person to consider what is "evil" or what is "good". Gift, curse or a way of life, it's all what the person considers it to be, as Aela said it. "What does it mean to be a werewolf?" "Nothing, until you choose to use it." Use the gift, or simply sit by and complain about being cursed. It all depends on the individual. I find it a gift. This post has been edited by Darkness Eternal: Jan 29 2012, 08:34 PM

The prey had no escape. Running, fleeing, crying in a desperate attempt to break free from the huntress. The bosmer leapt over stones, slid underneath overturned moss-encrusted logs, and maneuvered past the pine trees. The environment a beautiful green which was livelier than anything he had ever seen. It was true, that in the face of death, everything became clearer. His heart was beating faster and faster with each passing second, threatening to slow him down. Slow down and get captured. Run faster and risk dying. The odds were against him. Thorns pricked his feet, overhanging branches cut open little scratches in his skin, and sweat drenches his body from head to toe, obscuring his vision. How long had he been running? It didnt matter. He was good as dead. The huntress had no remorse, no pity, and no mercy. Once she marked one for the hunt, the chase was inevitable. It wasnt a question if she would get to her quarry, only when. The real question, then, was how long? He ran faster, blood pumping through his legs and arms as he flailed them about. He was nearing the river, glimpsing the blue waters in the clearing of the forest. If he could only swim to the other side, he would be safe. But safety was a lie, especially in the presence of the huntress. Closer, much closer to escape! He continued running, not daring to look over his shoulder. He neared the clearing, but in hopes of trying to urge a burst of speed, he tripped over a concealed stone, rendering his dreams of freedom futile. He collapsed down the hill, eating all manners of foliage and dirt as he tumbled over and over, finally coming to a stop on the leveled ground below. I am dead, he thought to himself. This is it.He gazed up with eyes burning from the particles of dirt and sweat to see the armored hunter in all her glory, jumping down with amazing speed. She seemed unfazed, her chest not heaving in exhaustion as his own. How can she have greater energy reserves than me? A bosmer of the wild?He coughed Youre reputation is well-deserved, Vera Darksky. She marched toward him in her. Her armor black and grey. Boots showing a nearly concealed hunting knife, gauntlets spiked and sharp. Shoulder-pads bearing a tribal symbol of a horned stag. Hircine, he presumed. Her helmet covered her face, making her a mysterious foe. He scrambled around in his shorts, hands fumbling for gold. But to the disdain of the prey, coin was not to be found. Ill pay you double the amount! She brought the two-sided axe to bear, bringing it from her back and into her hands out into full view. His eyes widened. Her expression concealed behind a dark helmet. But from the visors he could see two faint yellow glows which told him she was something other than human. You all say the same thing. Double, triple. Youre a wanted convict, bosmer. Accept your fate without groveling. I am worth more alive! he cried. She stood at his feet, staring down upon him with a lupine glare. She raised the axe high above her head. To me, You are worth enough dead. The sharp blade fell, cleaving through skin, through flesh and through bone. I guess I got carried away. But this is pretty much my favorite character. I used her in Skyrim a lot more than my other three. She runs around the province doing Bounty Hunting missions and occasionally attacking some of the nearby highwaymen in a lunatic frenzy. He stood in the remains of a burnt out house in Morthal.
The Bosmer clenched and unclenched his fists as Caerellin thought to himself that if he ever caught up with this Hroggar, then the Knight would be in serious danger of his conscience deciding to get even with the murdering...Whatever...
He'd just had a heartbreaking talk with the ghost of a child called Helgi. She and her mother had been burned to death in this broken house...The next day, this Hroggar moved in with another woman.
Enough said.
Caerellin had only been passing through, but on J'Drell's orders he was to speak to each Jarl of the Hold to check of their intentions and alliances.
There began this nightmare of an investigation.
He was to play hide and seek with the ghost of Helgi...After dark.
As you do.
Looking at the ball of the sun through the cloud, he judged it to be heading towards mid-afternoon. So he decided to survey the town.
Having spent gold and time in the Apothecary, he found himself spending more of the same in the Moorside Inn. Availing himself of yet another bounty mission, he aimiably chatted and watched through the small windows, the colour - what there was of it - drain from the day until the lamps were all lit in the alehouse.
Leaving the warmth of the humane he headed for the cold house of death.
The thought brought the Familiar out and the wolf howled at being free once more.
Caerellin smiled and beckoned for the ghostly ursine to follow.
They walked into the former living room of the cottage and stood awhile. "Go on then." said Caerellin with a raised eyebrow at his Familiar.
The wolf raised his head, "Awoooo!!" he said. The head dropped and his eyes closed. Turning his head from side to side, slowly...Searching.
His eyes shot open and he was away. Caerellin bounding behind him.
They came to the town graveyard and stopped short. In one corner, a woman was unearthing a small coffin. Frowning, Carellin challenged the creepy graverobber.
She hissed at him and bared her fangs.
"Oh great!" he said to himself and launched at the Vampire.
The wolf was knocked to one side by a lightning spell and another was shot at Carellin. The speed fortify took him out of the path of the shot and up to the side of the Vamp. She backhanded the Knight and he tasted metal. Hoping the disease wouldn't take hold before he got to a cureall, he concentrated on not losing conciousness.
The wolf came back up and bowled the woman over. She screamed "Noooo!!!! She's miiiine!!!!" with such despair that Carellin stopped short, until the vamp launched herself up and Carellin stared into her eyes as she died again, this time with the Bosmer's conjoured swords through her...
As she dropped to the ground, a man with a torch ran up. "Is everything alright? I heard something and I thought I should...Come...See..." The man looked down at the vampire. "Oh dear Gods noooo..." He cried and knelt down to pick up and hug the woman. Caerellin grabbed him before another person was infected this evening. The man sniffed and sobbed quietly, but nodded his understanding.
"Hey mister." came a small voice from nearby. "I'm so glad it was you that found me first. Thank you. I need to sleep now...I'm so tired..."
Caerellin had moved to the coffin, realising that that was where the voice was coming from.
A tear fell down his cheek, and even the familiar whined softly and looked up at the Knight.
"That blasted Alva..." the kneeling man started a tale.
Caerellin's head lifted and looked dead straight into the night. Dark thoughts swirled in his mind...

I HATED that quest. It was interesting and the main antagonist behind the scenes is SPOILERS AHEAD:MOVARTH FROM IMMORTAL BLOOD . I mean, why couldn't I have joined Alva? Yes, she was seducing every damn guy in that town, but her heart was to Movarth. Bethesda should of added two otpions. Join Alva, overthrow Movarth and marry her while using the town as a little blood-farm. But noo, we had to join the humans, didn't we? Pfft. But on the other side, Alva recognized me as a vampire and told me to haul boat out of there because she owned it. I gues vampire's don't share much do they? /rant/spoilers. Interesting and yet funny write, by the way. Laelette is hot. So is Alva. Too bad we can't marry either of them. This post has been edited by Darkness Eternal: Jan 29 2012, 08:33 PM

Jensa has a glitched Radiant Quest from Aela. Shes working through her list while we wait and see. Heres her version of the latest escapade: Well, I cant believe were still alive. Vilkas and I had a job near Solitude. When we were through I said Id like to go talk to Elisif the Fair and see if shes still holding a grudge. She isnt. The rest of what happened is a result of my big mouth.
Falk Firebeard saw I was feeling regretful and took the opportunity to ask me for help. It turned out to be the kind of job you give someone when you want them dead. I could tell that Vilkas thought it was a bad idea. I wouldnt have expected to listen to someone like you, he told me. But Kodlak trusts your judgment, and so will I.
It took me a while to figure out thats Vilkas talk for I hope you only look like an idiot. Thanks a lot, brother.
Of course we probably should have trusted his judgment instead of mine. We spent two days underground dealing with all kinds of ugly. Then we came out on the side of a cliff. Vilkas did not have a sense of humor about it. We got down without breaking our necks, but it was a long, silent walk back to Solitude.
We got a room so we could rest before we both were tempted to kill Falk Firebeard. That Vilkas is a strange one. He glared at me for days, then he held me like a little kid with a stuffed rabbit skin as soon as we got somewhere safe. Youd never know he could be so tender. Too bad I cant wrap my legs around a man I call brother. I wager wed both have slept better if I did.
Anyway, the whole court was happy when we gave them the news. Then they mentioned some more trouble they were having. Vilkas rolled his eyes at me, but he didnt need to. I looked at all of the lazy Thanes sitting around and said I was sure they had it covered. We left while they were arguing.
Then we ran into some Shield-Brothers on the road. I was sure happy to see them. We didnt sneak up on anything the whole way back to Whiterun, but they were good company. That Torvar can talk your ear off, even though he doesnt really say much.
Im not sure what Im going to do next. I feel like going off on my own for awhile. I guess Ill get out on the road and just see where it takes me.

Hehe, that made me chuckle. Vilkas was probably angry for being around those blue bloods down in the blue palace. Or maybe our dear lovely lady Sybille just made im angry.

Scylla gra-Brimo was introduced to Skyrim today. So far she has little use for Imperials or Stormcloaks. She did enjoy killing the bandits she found in a little run down tower across from the Riverwood. She explored the big ruins she saw there the other day, and killed more bandits there. What a wonderful province, that provides her with ready meat for the cleaving! She found some strange golden claw there, and used it to open up a rather obvious puzzle door. There was not much interesting behind it though. Just some strange glowing wall with words written all over it. Writing, Pah! Reading and writing are for weaklings and cowards! A true Orc warrior, she ignored the scribblings and made her way out of the back of the cave. She just found another ruin/cave called Shriekwind Bastion, and is ready to hunt some vampires. This post has been edited by SubRosa: Jan 29 2012, 11:21 PM

Rowan scooted over to Morthal this afternoon to finish that quest, just so I could come back and read about Caerellin doing it. Shes so agreeable. I have to say, I was also out to avenge little Helgi, no matter how hot Alva looked in that dress. Or cold, more accurately. I should check and see if Rowan got sick from the encounter with Laelette. It was extra bloody. Darkness Eternal, you may be on to something. Sybille is so mean! And shes right there wedged up Firebeards backside, you cant get away without her making some remark. Not to mention Vilkas already has some anger management issues. Woo hoo, SubRosa, excellent Orsimer!! The gods gave her two hands, and she uses them both for her weapon.
