I loved Caerellin's musings on who Blind Cliff was, and why he had a cavern named after him. I just imagined that it was named after a geological cliff, rather than a person...

Knight of The Nine? Shouldn't that be Knight of the Eight? Or did the order join up with the Stormcloaks then?

Cheers... biggrin.gif ...

Busy Multiversing at the mo...I'm hurtling headlong into throwing a major spanner in the works as far as the Thalmor invasion of Cyrodiil goes in me KOTN story at the mo...So the Knights of The Nine still exist in Skyrim times, for me at least...

Unlike in the game, where they haven't been heard of for years...Which seems silly to me...But that's just me being biased... biggrin.gif ...

EDIT...Caerellin did a bit more bouny-hunting this afto, to make up the monies to discreetly buy back Vlindrel Hall for the Knights...

However, Roreck is too busy, what with his having letters to read, to sell the damned thing to the Bosmer...(Glitch anyone?)...

From the journal of Hrafngoelir

Well Ma, I've been looking for weeks, and I still have not found you. I tell myself that is a good thing, because it means you must still be out there, somewhere.

I trekked as far east as Winterhold, as far south as Lake Yorgrim, and halfway to Solitude in the west. It seems I found anything but you. First was a priest of Mara in Dawnstar itself, who said he knew how to cure the nightmares that gripped the city. It turns out he was not exactly a priest of Mara, or at least he was not always one. You can always count on an elf to never tell the truth, at least not the whole truth. A Daedric Princess was involved, and a lot of killing followed. But in the end we sorted things out.

Remember Frostflow Lighthouse? I found that some Redguard family had moved in there. I met their corpses when I went there looking for you. Something had risen up from depths and taken them. Some horror of the ancient world, whose remnant still lurked in the sightless depths where the sun's rays have never touched. Falmer, I thought they were something you and Da had made up to scare me. But they are real, real enough to murder innocents, and real enough for my axe to split apart. Even worse were the insects they had. There was one down there bigger than four horses put together. It must have been the momma. Well, she won't be making any more baby bugs anymore, thank Talos.

If that was not bad enough, I came across a group of lunatics calling themselves the Silver Hand. They were werewolf hunters, but from what I saw, they were no different from the monsters they hunted. They attacked me with no warning. In the end I had to kill them all.

I even found some mad Imperial living out on the ice north of Winterhold. He had some Dwarven contraption, like a giant puzzle box, that he was trying to get open. He said the heart of a god was inside, and all he needed to get at it was an Elder Scroll. He knew where to get one too. In that old Dwemer city between Dawnstar and Winterhold: Alftand.

Well, it wasn't in Alftand after all, but under it. I found some poor explorers there. Most had been butchered by the Falmer and the automatons of the Dwemer. I found two still alive deep in the passages, and thought I had rescued them. But they had been driven mad. One killed the other before my eyes, and then fixed to send me to Sovngarde next. Well, my axe had a few things to say about that, and it was me left to write the tale afterward.

Ma, those Dwemer ruins give me more chills than a glacier down the shorts. I am glad those elves are gone. Dead, or ascended, or descended. Whatever happened to them, I am glad it did. They were just wrong Ma, wrong in the head. I think it was the gods that wiped them out. Blotted them from existence for their blasphemies.

But I was writing about that elder scroll. I found it, under Alftand. There is a huge cavern down there called Blackreach. It goes for miles and miles in all directions. I found lifts coming out of it all over eastern Skyrim. There were Falmer down there, and other things. Not all of it was bad. I found veins of raw magicka gem quartz all over, even ebony! I took all that I could with me, and right now I am wearing a full set of ebony armor crafted by yours truly!

I got the elder scroll in the end. Why? Because that mad man got me to thinking. Maybe I can use it to find you? Or use that heart he has locked away in his Dwemer box? I don't know how to use it though. The old tales all say that to read one of these things drives you blind. I can't find you if I can't see. So I think I'll take it back to that Imperial first, and see what he can make of it. When I get my chance, I'll find a way to use it to find you.

-Hrafn, on the Sea of Ghosts.

The musings of Vertandi

Funny where life takes you. Joining the Legion seemed like a good idea at the time, still does. Even got a blessing from Jarl Dengeir before I left since Da wouldn't give it. Couple years would've done good, picked up some fighting skills and sharpened my smithing, even made some plans for my own set of armor. Then it all came crashing down.

Not sure which made me mad more, that the wound to my face and eye was from our Thalmor 'ally', or that she used a dagger she had me make for her in the first place. Either way, it was deemed an 'accident' and I was told my services were no longer needed. If I ever see Elenwen again, we're going to be having words, she and I.

Cheap Imperials wouldn't even let me have a horse or half-way decent gear, only assigned to members of the Imperial Legion my rear. Guess I'm walking to Skyrim.
~~

Finally made it home, had a bit of a side trip when a prisoner caravan saw me and decided I had escaped from... somewhere or another. Met the Jarl or Windhelm, also a horse thief and a Stormcloak soldier. Then the Legion tried to cut my head off. So much for loyalty, never thought I would be saved by a dragon of all things, weren't they supposed to just be stories? Managed to get out of Helgen with Ralof, the Stormcloak soldier, and get to Riverwood in one piece. I got some rather nasty looks for being in some Imperial Legion armor. Best get something else, soon. I can do it after talking to the Jarl or Whiterun. Huh, I'm not sure getting noticed by so many Jarls is a good thing.
~~

Nice to know there are some good Imperials after all, Adrianne let me work her forge in return for my own help with a bulk order of swords made by Clan Battle-Born. Finally got to make the armor that had been in my head for months now. Did enough jobs around the city to raise up some money, even got named thane after I poked a dragon in the snout. At least my sword arm's back in form, archery's a total loss though, left eye's too clouded to make aiming work. Been long enough, time to go home.
~~

Falkreth still looks the same as when I left, same air of near despair, same graveyard bigger then the city. I saw Mathies and Indara Caerellia in there though. Their daughter was killed recently, I used to watch her sometimes. After greeting Lod finding that lay-about Siddgeir had somehow become Jarl, I went to look at the murderer. What sort of man can do that to a child? The answer was no man, he is a beast. A beast that escaped moments later when the light of the moons came through the window.

I feel sorry for him, I really do. It didn't seem like he got that disease by choice, but he's still a danger to everyone. Guess I'm on the hunt once more, he can't be any worse then a dragon right?

I really like that Eisen Platte Armor liliandra. I just wish it did not leave your underwear hanging out for everyone to see. If they would put some armor on the butt, I would use it.

Me too. I'm reading every word. I'm actually a little jealous becuase I simply don't have the time to make a long, detailed story, so the best I can do is write up my usual shallow additions. sad.gif Maybe someday my grandkids can read all about these adventures, and someday...

Crystal Beth is currently in Whiterun. She got a letter from the Jarl of Solitude (her favorite town), apparently the Jarl needs her back to take care of some sort of business, but on the way, she's performing a few sidequests...as a campaign to raise money so that when she shows up in Solitude, she's going to have lots to spend.

Beth isn't necessarily materialistic, but she's a high elf who's easily wowed by technology, magic, and a few pretty gems here and there.

While living in Cyrodiil (before going to skyrim and winding up on that awful execution cart), she visited several Ayleid ruins, just for the Oblivion of it. She loved these mysteriously quiet subterrenean places...some small, some as large as the Imperial City itself, but she had to admit, she wanted something more. What woud these ruins have been like when they actually were packed with treasures? Some of the monsters (the undead, the goblins) were still there, but where was all the treasure?

These ruins had all been picked clean of course, picked clean by at least a dozen famous and infamous folk 200 years earlier. Renee Gade II, Lady Saga, and The Grey Wizard being just 3 examples here. As a wannabe adventurer, Crystal Beth desired more, hence her journey into Skyrim, where a simple Nordic fighter by the name of Thor a'Zaene had made an important discovery in the Year 200 of the 4th era: Cyrodiil's du;ngeons may be looted, but Skyrim's were still flush with treasure!

Thor was a simple fighter, apparently. He could wield a blade, was somewhat adept at crafting his own weapons and armor, but knew nothing of magic. Still, he was able to plunder several Nordic barrows, and the rumor was he did, in fact, find plenty of treasures. But why no magic? Beth wondered. Who would be foolish enough to attempt some dungeon-diving without magical aids?

Had Thor come to his doom?. The rumors said he had been last seen heading off from Markath to deal with some Forsworn, not long before Beth made her way into Skyrim. Nobody had seen Thor since. Foolish! Who wields only a blade and a sheild while seeking treasure? Beth thought to herself.

Beth learned about Thor while she was still living in the Imperial City. She coudnt' remember who told her about Thor, but once she heard the rumors, she decided she'd like to get up to Skyrim, just to see if they were true. Why not?

She couldn't help thinking about the Ayleid ruins, though, and as Beth sat in her hotel room eating some apple pie brought to her from that Redguard woman named Saadia, she had to admit she missed those places.

Built by elves more powerful and advanced than she, Beth's love of magics and magic items began as she stalked into a few ruins such as Ceyatatar. After years and even centuries, the Ayleid's lights still glowed. Their traps still worked. And their mysterious invisible spirits still hummed and chimed here and there. Would Skyrim hold similar places? Underground cities as beautiful as the Ayleids had built? Beth hoped so.

But so far, an Ayleid ruin Beth had not been able to find. Plenty of dusty Nordic barrows, plenty of dark caves, but nothing so splendid as the Ayleids could have created. Beth doesn't mind, though...at least the rumors (so far) have proved to be true. Skyrim is full of places to loot!

...just a few months ago, Beth was just an aspiring adveturing elf with no gold to her name, now look at her!

As she sat in Whiterun's Banner'd Mare, Beth contemplated the goals she had just accomplished. Her latest mission had been to take down the bandits of Redoran's Retreat, but she's on a campaign to raise money, so she took care of Silent Moon Camp and Halted Stream as well. She's got another horse (her 3rd) and has made a profit of just over 2 thousand gold after selling various special items, potions, and such! She's not sure where she's going to put all this money.

Since she's thinking Solitide willl become her second home, Beth has decided she's going to need some place in that town where she can at least stash all her loot, since she doesnt' have time to go all the way back to her room at The College...

Beth is looking forward to returning to Solitude. There's only one place where she can't really go right now, and that's Windhelm. She somehow wound up getting a bounty while attempting to defend the stables area from a giant tiger. The tiger followed Beth to Windhelm, somehow, killed at least 3 horses (one of them was Beth's!) the stable hand, and a couple other NPC's as well.

Beth doesn't know exactly how she got a bounty, but right after the tiger was finally felled, Windhelm's guards started giving her compassion! She needed a horse so she could get to the Wreck of Winter War, and since her horse died, she decided she could kill 2 birds with one stone by stealing one of Windhelm's finest! This made the guards even madder, of course.

ahhh, but Solitude. High up on a naturally-formed rock, Beth looked forward to Solitude, where the court addresses her like a lady, and treats her with respect. Well, more respect than usual, anyways.

Wait until she finds Alftand, or Blackreach. Real eye-openers those places are.

Nice. Beth also hasn't found any Dwemer ruins, yet. Only one of my characters so far has been in one of those places...so when Beth gets to one I'll be sure to write about it.

More musing of Vertandi

Don't think I can stay in Falkreth anymore now. Said goodbye at Da's grave. I only hope he heard me in Sovngarde, that way our last words were no longer the angry shouting when I left. Ma left, sold everything to get a ride to Solitude to become a Priestess of the Divines. Maybe it's the will of them, I found a drum with the marking of the Bards Collage in Solitude earlier. Besides, there are some wierd things around here. And far too many vampires, though three less nests now. Naturally, other then the Master Vampire, all of them were young and attractive women. Men.
~~

Encountered a depressing sight while on my way north, did some looking around before I found the cave that the raiders probably came from. There was another camp outside it, a journal left suggested it was a wanderer like myself, he hadn't been back from the cave in two days, and left in the night suddenly. Not a good sign.

By the Nine! At first, I thought it was some bandits, maybe even some necromancers or a vampires, but it wasn't. Horrible, eyeless little goblins infected the cave, their remains can rot with their victims, or what's left of them.
~~

Helped out a woman in Dragon Bridge expose her husband's lies about his over indulgence in drink, we were just finishing up when a shadow flashed overhead. A very large shadow. Glad the Imperial soldiers there were trained enough, I don't want to guess what that thing would've done with out them.
~~

Made it to Solitude, nice enough place, public executions aside. Found Ma in the Temple, spent an hour catching up before her duties took her away. Went to the Bards and gave the drum back to, get this, the dean of history. Turned out that bit of wood and hide was some sort of relic he had been after. They even offered me a place in the Collage. Sort of. Returning one priceless relic wasn't enough it seems. I have to get another one even older.

Ma must have said something to a thane, I was asked to attend court and Falk Firebeard, the steward whose beard was markedly without flame. He asked me to investigate some problem in Wolfskull Cave. Why not, might as well make myself known to yet another Jarl.
~~

I think I could be forgiving for my moment of blasphemy when I found what was going on. I know things are messed up, but I just can't see how anyone would thing resurrecting a 500 year gone, insane necromancer queen would improve things. At least that's done with.

Getting the verse from a crypt wasn't fun either, but at least this time it was just Druger and not necromancers and or vampires. I'm really getting annoyed with those two groups.
~~

With a tad bit of creative interpretations, the headmaster of the Collage got his festival re-instated and I got a position... as an official retrieval specialist, this time for a flute. Whatever. At least Ma was at the festival. I've more important things to worry about. Turns out my little job for Falk wasn't quite over after all. The insane, necromancer queen was loose in Solitude, still dead though, not that it seemed to slow her down much. The dead b-...witch broke into the Temple, she threatened Ma. It just got personal.
~~

Finding her was not hard, she kept yammering away the whole way down. Had a few bumps along the way, but I found her looking much the same as last time. Surprise, surprise, she sent a bunch of dead bodies after me. Flamable dead bodies.

Decided not to tell the stuffy priest of Arkay about the couple of kicks I gave the woman's skull before I gave it to him for cleansing, or whatever it is he needs to do to put the witch down for good.

Here's an update from Jensa: smile.gif

“I told the priest of Mara that we want to get married,” he said. “They’re making all of the arrangements. Tomorrow, Jensa. Or you can still change your mind.”

I had a lot of worries, ... But that’s not what came out of my mouth.

“What if I can’t stay faithful?” I asked him. “I mean, I haven’t slept with at least half of the Stormcloak army. That’s a lot left undone, even if you take out most of the women.”

“Uh,” said Stenvar, and then he saw that I was jesting. Sort of. “I believe in you, kid.” And he gave me that smile.

Then I believed in me, too. And all at once I knew why I could never stay with a man before, even when there was not a single thing wrong with him. None of them was Stenvar.

... and how he smiled when he said, “Now and forever.”

...I just stared for a moment, then I lay back down and he wrapped his arms around me. There’s a lot that I don’t know about my husband. But I know we said the important things today. You and me. Now and forever.

I've had a very busy couple weeks and missed this - "Bwaaaaaa" - I loved this, AWESOME update to Jensa's story!

Then Stenvar finds out he gets to live in a mansion...with his nemesis, ROFL !!! I am loving Jensa's story.

Ah hey thanks so much. really means a lot to me to know this.

What I mean is i don't have time to really get into my character's head right now. I'm going to be doing a much deeper roleplay (and story) with a couple future charcters, but Beth's game isn't that deep. Not all of my roleplays are. Some are more fleshed out than others.

But tanks. I'll def be writing more then.

Love the stories and pics, Nadiar. Vertandi is very much like my current character--always something to do! Wow, that "Festival" looks grim! Why is it indoors? sad.gif I was looking forward to some sort of outdoor street faire. Oh well.

Crystal Beth decided to go to Winterhold instead of Solitude. She can take a carriage there (saving me time because this means I can get to bed earlier) and she can then deposit all her gold in her room. One thing that's kinda neat (which I didn't know until now) is that Beth's horse also travels with the carraige, which means she has a way to get back south again.

She organized her room. It's a start, there's still work to be done, but it's looking good already!

GONE are all the skulls! Gone are the Nordic mead bottles and anything un-decorative. On the little drawer-top to the right, she placed a couple soul gems (one blue-colored, one a lighter aqua) on its center. Then she placed a series of rubies and amethyst on either side of the soul gems. All the red gems are on the left, all the purple gems on the right. biggrin.gif It looks lots more feminine and eye-catching, now. A large chunk of gold also sits on the little drawer to the right of her bed.

She also placed a series of books on top of the barrels and other surfaces., books that she's found helpful along her way. One book she really likes was apparently made for Imperial soldiers, and explains each of Skyrim's holds one by one. This book is downright helpful to Beth in this strange land, as it details each hold and what its capital towns (or hamlets in some cases) are like.

One thing she learned from that book (whatever it's called): Apparently her favorite town of Solitude is Imperial-controled, which perhaps explains why she likes it there so much. It's a port town, and a well-stocked one at that. It's not that she ever admired the Imperial power itself, but the town of Solitude pleases her perhaps because it reminds her of Cyrodiil in some way. Plus it has some pretty neat hiding places and there's LOTS to explore.

She's found several other books, too...the first 3 volumes of Barenziah's story, for instance. She likes books like this (which can also be found in Cyrodiil, although not as often as before the Empire started having troubles) because they remind her of home. Beth has been in the habit of trying to "complete" each series of books she finds. It'll be nice to have her own private library.

But the question came up as Beth rode her horse from Winterhold, eventually getting attcked by a Wood Efl. Is Skyrim now her home? Can Beth actually find a future here?

She's pondered this question briefly. But for the moment, she's decided not to dwell or plan. Just keep moving! Keep adventuring. Adventuring is not only profitable, but also exciting!

As Beth grew up, reading the legends of those Cyrodiilic adventurers who lived 200 years ago in the end of the 3rd era (and sometimes the beginning of the fourth), Beth realized she's probably going to become one of these legends if she keeps up. Perhaps Beth will become another "Lady Saga", "Dyan phor a'Cauz, or somebody who really made her way with only her talents to guide her.

Maybe she'll stay here in Skyrim, maybe she'll go back to Cyrodiil, a very rich woman-elf, indeed. But in the meantime, Beth has decided to stalk every single dungeon she can safely loot. And perhaps she'll figure out what became of that lost Nordic fighter Thor a'Zaene in the process.

On her way to Solitude, Crystal Beth took a wrong turn somewhere and wound up finding a rather sprawled-out roadside fort called Fort Snowhawk. Beth could see Solitude off to the north of this fort, and she really wants to get back there,

...but as usual she can't help herself. She must see what this fort is all about.

Turns out, it's Necromancers. Oooh. Beth systematically slaughtered them all. some of them put up a fight, but Beth's diverse knowings of all schools of magics has given her an edge.

Back in the days when the Imperial Empire was at its height, very few magicians managed to really diversify, so far as magics go. Most common outlaw mages found in Ayleid ruins and other dungeons, for instance, would maybe only practice a couple schools of magics before getting lazy and not progressing into true masterdom. They'd summon a scamp and throw a few fireballs, but would ignore Illusionary and Mysticism-type spells. Or, perhaps in some cases these Necromancers simply didn't have access to something which might have broadened their magic books.

The role of the common renegade mage was to find a location (preferably underground) and then set up shop there. From then on, these average mages would simply have a place to live. Their main goal now was to protect their treasures against any in-comers looking for some easy gold.

There was usually also a "head" mage, as well, a sort of leader. This leader would usually be more advanced than the pawns he or she shared the dungeon with, but not by much.

200 years later, Beth is also finding this to be true. Although she had never fought a Cyrodiilic mage, what she read about them is they used a similar structure to the way Skyrim's outlaw mages do it, so far as their little societies go. The head of the dungeon (be it mage, bandit, or whatever) is always the strongest. He or she surrounds him/herself with as many pawns as possible, and (so far) Beth has found these pawns can almost always be out-smarted.

But what of the leader? Beth hadn't come to the leader of Fort Snowhawk yet. After killing at least a dozen foul, evil-doing Necromancers, Beth wisely decides she's gonna back off. The leader, after all, could be somebody really advanced. Cyrodiilic Necromancer mages may have been weak, but here in Skyrim the rumor was that some of them were quite powerful. Could possibly eliminate a weaker, unarmored adventurer like Beth in just a few shots.

There's more of this fort to explore..maybe she should wait until she's got her Nordic follower (a rent-an-NPC who lives up in Solitude) with her, just as extra insurance.

"I have a respect for Restoration. Skyrim could use more healers", said a Solitude guard as Beth strolled up the road towards the city gate. Wow. Beth was stunned, and didn't know what to say. She had been under the assumption that Skyrim's soldiers and guards did not trust magics of any sorts.

The travelling caravan of cat-people was camped outside of Solitude, so Beth got to unload some of her horse's bags on the spot. They were not selling anything Beth wanted or needed, unfortunately. Beth wasn't sure how much gold she had at that point, but she knew it had to be a lot. Later on, safely in the Winking Skeever Inn, Beth learned she's already got 1,198 gold on her person.

1,198 gold, and that's not even including the gold she's got stashed away in her room at the college. The average enemy leader she had encountered usually had no more than 100...200 gold, maybe, and the pawns had waaay less than this. 7 or 8 gold, maybe. What sort of life was that?

Beth now stores most of the gold in a large, rectangular floor chest of sorts located at the foot of her bed. She also puts all her useful potions in there, along with her Staff of Lightning, orcish daggar, and assorted other items. For the next couple days, Beth is looking forward to relishing being just an ordinary citizen again.

She starts her "time off" with a couple relaxing books: The Dunmer of Skyrim and [b]Spirit of Nirn{/b]. She's a reader, and voraciously scoops up books like these, since they often offer clues and ideas she finds useful, now that she's a full-time adventurer.

According to Dunmer of Skyrim (which is written in an acid-toned fashion, spiteful and hateful) dark elves have taken up residence in Windhelm, the very place Beth has a bounty. See, she learned something new, then!

Spirit of Nirn is a shorter tome, written in a more heady fashion. Beth read SoN and then tossed it on her table. She's bushed, and wants to get some rest before making herself appropriate for the Blue Palace's court to present the results of her latest quest, and also to see what the Queen wanted to ask her. Soemthing about Wolfskull Cave.

.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

As Crystal Beth entered the Blue Palace, she cast a Candlelight spell for extra effect. Beth got a few warnings from some lady in town that she wasn't dressed appropriately for a courtly visit, but Beth ignored this. She's currently styling a burgundy and green-colored dress and a blue Alik'r hood on her head.

As she presents herself to the court, Beth tends to dress a little differently each time. Sometimes she's worn her mage's robes, other times, she's shown up as ordinary-looking as possible. One of the things that's helped her here is the clothing shop here in Solitude. The lady who runs the place is a witch, but she's got the widest selection of clothing Beth has ever seen, Cyrodiil or Skyrim.

CB realizes effect is everything, like I said, and casts a Candlelight before she climbs the stairs to see her Queen.

"Whoa whoa whoa, watch the magic!!"
said a guard, terrified as Beth cast her spell. Good. She's not out to kill anyone, but it's always useful to let them know she's not just some average magic-user. ...effect...is...everything.

Beth approached the Steward first, to ask permission if it's okay to approach the Queen.

"The Courier must have found you!" said Folk Firebeard, the court's steward. (this is so awesome! I love when NPC's take notice of my charcter!)

"Oh yes. Just outside of Winterhold, matter of fact. I apologize it took me awhile to get here. More than one court wants my attention nowadays". says Beth.

Falk than tells Beth about a mysterious female named "Potema" or something, who was decended from the Septim line (I think). She went down the path of evil, Potema did, and this is apparently who Beth must face when she goes back. Potema escaped Wolfskull CAve's when Beth unboud the place's magic.

As Beth leaves Falk and turns to see her Queen, the Queen is nowhere to be seen.
---------------------------------------------------------

Beth decides she's going to take a seat somehwere in the court and go into a hypnotic fugue (this is my way of viewing the 3D world map {with quest markers} to determine where to go next). She spends an hour searching her mind, and learns that she's to speak to somebody named "Styrr" first, who dwells somewhere in Solitude itself.

As she leaves her fugue, Beth comes back to her immediate suroundings. The lady of hte court is not a Queen, turns out her name is Jarl Elisif the Fair. But Beth likes calling her "Queen" anyways. smile.gif The Queen is back at her throne, so Beth goes to speak to her now.

After a small curtsey (went into sneak mode just for a sec!) Beth tells her Queen she's successfully placed the Horn of Torygg back to its shrine, after which the Queen tells Beth words she'll treasure the rest of her life...

"You have proved yourself to the court, me lady. You now have the ability to purchase property here in town. Speak to the steward when you are ready"

YES!!!!
.

But sadly, the home shall cost lots and lots of gold, far more than Beth has: 25,000 pieces to be exact. how will she ever come up with this much money? Oh, never mind. You'll do it! If The Grey Wizard and Igodah Go^Pe and others of the Cyrodiilic era could make enough money to eventually own a home in a nice town, so could Beth.

I am enjoying the adventures of each and every one of these characters, I love it when I get a message that someone has posted here! smile.gif

I don’t have a story today, but here’s what’s been going on in my very fragmented game time lately. I made a Dunmer spellsword to replace Allek the Breton, but before I saved over Allek’s last spot I gave him one more try. I mean, maybe I was just playing him wrong.

I was. Allek demanded some changes.

For one, I had made him too weak and spent too many perks in Illusion, which he hates to use. He likes to do his own killing. So I took him to the Lord Stone and then spent some time smithing and enchanting to even things out. The resulting perks went into Restoration. Now he uses two daggers or one dagger and healing when things get hectic.

Next, he is kind of afraid of atronachs, but he needs allies to survive the big fights. What he really likes is reanimating a dead enemy. He likes that a LOT. I had forgotten that he even had that spell. Necromancy it is.

Third, he wanted more power. Daedric artifact power. We got busy on that. It’s actually been fun. It worked out well that Allek can’t stand Iona. I should say that in the past tense. She won’t be cluttering up his house any more.

Finally, Marcurio. Now that Allek can fight, they fight very well together. Marcurio’s snarky attitude is an ongoing delight. Plus there was an incident in a hallway where Marcurio got in front with his Ward right when Allek was really suffering, even though Allek had told him to wait. So now he can quit taking the wagon everywhere and enjoy the countryside with Marcurio backing him up.

Allek is still doing very bad things, so I’m surprised that I’m enjoying him so much. He doesn’t think of himself as evil. He just does whatever he wants. So the spellsword will have to wait a little longer, because Allek is back. ohmy.gif blink.gif biggrin.gif

Wow. Allek went from being an unhinged thief to... I'm not even sure what at the moment.
