Game of Thrones! I just watched both seasons in two weeks and I am hooked. By far one of my top television series! Swords, sieges, dragonlings, intrigue, comedy, and draugr White-Walkers!

Can't wait for season 3!!!!

--------------------
And yet I am, and live—like vapours tossed.
I long for scenes where man hath never trod
A place where woman never smiled or wept
There to abide with my Creator, God,
And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept,
Untroubling and untroubled where I lie
The grass below—above the vaulted sky.”

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jan 16 2013, 12:33 AM) *

I did not like Children of Earth either, even before the ending. The whole thing just seemed... pointless. The same with Miracle Day.

Of course I did not watch either show every week as they were originally aired. I have been watching them on dvds, so I just watch one show from start to finish in a month or so. I had to do some detectiving to piece together where the two crossover (three if you count the Sarah Jane Adventures too).

I liked Tenant's sad doctor because I felt he had some depth and personality. He was bothered by the things he had done to other people. Likewise, I enjoyed how Chris Ecclesiastes Doctor bore such a venomous grudge against the Daleks. We did not know the details of the Time War then, but we could see the cost from his behaviour. Both felt like real people to me, who were changed by the world(s) they lived in, and the people they met.

I cannot say much for the new Doctor, as I have only watched one of his episodes yet. Amelia (which I think is a much better name than Amy) certainly seems like an excellent companion. Right from childhood she was someone who could keep up with the Doctor, which is not an easy feat. Plus the grown up version of her is very easy on the eyes. I could run down all of my AA batteries watching her... wink.gif

Oh, yeah, I get that it's on DVD...In a way, you've been lucky with that...I envy you!!...Tennant was by far the best Doctor that had ever been for us...And the total shock around the country that was felt when that moment happened at the end of the episode where the Dalek had shot Tennant and he seemed to be regenerating ohmy.gif ...The country came to a standstill it seemed!!...

I remember when he announced that he was leaving, it was during some TV awards show, and the gasps and cries of "NO!" from the audience was priceless!...

Christopher Eccleston seems to have been forgotten a lot...I loved him, personally...I thought towards the end of his run, he was absolutely...Wait for it...Fantastic!... biggrin.gif ...

We love Matt Smith's Doctor, he really is our favourite Doctor now, and when the time comes for him to be off, we will be as devastated as we were for Tennant...But that's the nature of the show, their time comes and they're off and we have to get used to a new one...

Ah, the recently departed Amy Pond...*Sighs*...Quite possibly the most beautiful woman in the world...Exceedingly tall (about 5' 11"), red-headed and Scottish...*Sighsagain*...Yes, yes I'm in love...So sue me... laugh.gif ...

That said, her replacement...Jenna Louise Coleman, is pretty amazing too...And...Also very pretty...Very very pretty...

AA batteries?...I have no idea what you mean... huh.gif biggrin.gif ...

blink.gif ...Oh...Oh my...

I hadn't seen those... blink.gif ...

Ah, sorry about the Amy thing...I had forgotten...Spoilers sweetie!!...

Jenna's red dress, the last one on the page...That's from her first Dr Who episode...*Drools*...Dear Gods...*Whimpers a little*...

Dexter. Season 5 was slow, but season 6, OH MY GOD season 6! I'm waiting on Season 7 to come out on DVD now. I find him creepy looking, but the character is pretty interesting. I'm not really much of a TV watcher, so I'm not watching anything else, though I should probably start watching Dr. Who while it's still relevant.

On an off note, I've been begging my husband to take me to see The Hobbit since it came out. I'm about to just take myself to go see it lol.

I just saw Bad boat (I did not say 'boat'! grrr). That was a ton of fun. Danny Trejo is definitely one of my favorite actors. He is perfectly cast as a regular joe who the world has passed by, and has finally gotten fed up and cannot take it anymore. It is not a movie to take seriously. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

As Green Lantern and Green Arrow were my favourite comic characters growing up, I was less than thrilled when they said that Ryan Reynolds was going to play Hal Jordan in the film...

And then the trailer... kvright.gif ...

However, having watched Green Lantern again the other day, I thought - much like I did at the cinema - it wasn't anywhere near as bad as a) it could have been, and f) other people said it was...

I really enjoyed it...

Considering the awful films that do get a sequel, it's a shame that this is unlikely to...

I'm not a fan of the Green Arrow tv series...Not the greatest thing on tv by a long shot... wink.gif ...

Edit!!!...Interesting even if you put a lowercase b with a bracket, it still gives you the cool.gif smiley... blink.gif ...Damned odd...

I saw Blade Runner again just the other night. Such. A good. Film! So much atmosphere, really good acting (kudos to Rutger Hauer for how well he played Roy) and an absolutely astounding soundtrack; loved it!

Just watched Death Race 2000, the original from the 70s by Roger Corman. What a fantastic movie! Campy, funny, and violent. It is a wonderful satire on the way our society idolizes violence, and as all satires, takes it way out of proportion. I have to say, I simply adore Roger Corman. He is one of the best B-movie creators ever.

That was one fantastic movie. I think I have the Final Cut version of it laying around. Maybe I'll dig that out and watch it again.

Battle Beyond The Stars is my fave of his...I love the fact that Corman re-used the effects footage in four other films...

Footage that was made by...Wait for it...James Cameron!!...

The kids and I sat through BBTS a couple of months ago...They were transfixed...Truly... biggrin.gif ...

I looked up Cameron, and he did the SFX for Galaxy of Terror as well. Another Roger Corman classic!

I'm waiting for Walking Dead to return.

I don't watch a lot of T.V. but when I do, it's awesome.
