WHICH IS VERY GODDAMN BIG. As in, 4700-meters big, all in all. A great way to start the weekend, really. I dunno how I can run through all of that in one go. Seriously.

Eh, me too. From 8:00 AM to 6:00. Thankfully today it was from 8:00 to 12:00.

Hehe, there was Life Guard training at the gym where I work at today, but I had to work, so I couldn't try out. I'm trying to sneak my way into the lifeguard position away from my supervisor's prying eyes

Lifeguard training? Sounds useful! I also am also trying to slip into another job description. Apparently retail is not for those who are not a people person.

Or maybe it is...?

Oh yeah... So this customer came up and was talking to me, asking me questions about various items in the store, then he says "You seem very knowledgeable about things. Were you born on a Monday?"

I said "No sir, I think I was born on a Saturday."

And he goes "Go look it up when you get home, then you'll know that men really DO know more than you."

I just did. I was born on a Saturday.

My favorite waitress was so sour with all the customers that we took to calling her "Pickles." Everyone always asked to sit in her section just to see how she would insult us next.

A friend of mine is a bit 'rotund' and as we were waiting for Pickles to come wait on us she was telling me about her boyfriend leaving her. Just as Pickles walked up to take our order, suddenly one of my friend's blouse buttons flew off with force and landed over 5 feet away.

Pickles' head followed the trajectory of the button, then she looked back at the girl. We all thought she was going to insult the girl's size, but instead she said, "Not even your buttons want to stay with you."

I guess she'd been listening in on the girl's conversation as she was nearing the table. Even my friend laughed, which was good because I was choking trying not to.


I know being a waitress is service industry and not retail - but if a sour waitress can draw customers to her, surely you can curmudgeon in customers to your products in retail, lol.

That's hilarious!!!! All of my customers are so cranky though. The best I can do is act insulted at whatever they say. I like people well enough, but when customers come in, they're having a bad day and are just to pessimistic. I've had people spit on me for being bright and friendly when they were having a bad day. I think I need to learn to read people a bit better.
