TELL me about it. Although i'm 21 I get I.D all the time; even when they've seen it before... I suspect it's because I don't dress like this.

Actually, it suits me fine, because I usually get the BF to buy me my games. People still seem to be suspicious at the notion of a gamer girl. Haha

Grr, guys and be suck d*cks sometimes (excuse my language). The fact that that good, honest girls still get judged purely on look astonishes me. I have good friends who are absoloutley stunning who are hardcore gamers, but they don't 'come out' as gamers because they are afraid they will be mocked. It's insane! Haha

Mainly to do with a group predominated by socially-outcast males who don't get much luck with women feeling threatened by the opening up of their hobby towards women and thus trying to act as gatekeepers upon it in order to preserve their own sense of specialness and give a flimsy justification to their elistist sense that they are 'real' geeks and everyone else are just 'fakers'. Generally it's an attempt to reinforce their feelings of self-worth as a human being enacted by persecuting others and placing themselves upon a pedestal whilst at the same time, rather paradoxically, believing themselves to be the persecuted.

Also, to keep on thread, here is a picture of me. One of the few good ones in it, as whilst I am unbearably handsome I'm not very photogenic. The fact that it is blurry and a good one of me is purely coincidental, I assure you.
