So im sort of a punk-goth(dark clothes, spiked wrist bands, etc, etc.) and of course I like that kind of music too. Well my neighbor just came over to my house, knocked on the door, called me emo trash, and threatened to call the cops on me for "disturbance of peace"

WTH?! I like I'm doing something wrong now. Am I?

Unless your music is truly loud, just ignore them.

My stereo system is loud inside the house, but outside you can't really hear it.

If they are threatening to file disturbance charges, they have to have heard it loud enough to be aggravated by it. Maybe when you step out it sounds so quiet to you because you were just hearing it blasting when you were inside with it.

Have your sister stand outside while you crank your TV and stereo up where you usually have them. Then have her walk the neighborhood and see how far your noise is being heard.

I did that with my friend. You can only hear it if you're standing right at my door.

I'll bet it was when you had your windows cracked for the turpentine then.

It was pretty late when I got home. I don't blast music at night.
