QUOTE(Grits @ Apr 5 2013, 01:36 PM) I LOVE that it’s so difficult for me to choose! I like different stories for very different reasons. If it was a case of picking my favorite shade of the same color it would be easy. But this is more like deciding between music, chocolate, or vacation.
Absolutely. I STILL haven't come to a final decision. In fact, I'm doing what I always do in these situations, which is writing a critique of each story. Now this is just for my own benefit really, to help clarify my thoughts, but if anyone would like that critique pm'ing to them after the contest has finished, please just let me know. You don't have to of course. My inane ramblings aren't for everyone

I'm doing an inane rambling review of every story I'm hopeless at making decisions if I don't feel like I have a really clear map in my mind. Plus, it's a way for me to keep track of the bits that I think, "Damn, I wish I'd thought of that!" or "Grrrr! Why didn't I phrase a thought in that way?" *bashes head* so I can shamelessly steal...whoops, I mean PAY HOMAGE TO in future stories. Plus, the more I read them, the less sure I am about who wrote which I have a feeling I may be surprised in the end...

QUOTE(Elisabeth Hollow @ Apr 5 2013, 03:20 PM) I know what's wrong with my story lol
Lol, I'm not trying to force a review on you. Like I said, I'm doing it for my own selfish benefit. Besides, who says there's anything wrong with your story? i) I'm not sure which it is yet! ii) I'm really impressed with all of them - and that's genuine.

I think I know Rachel The Breton's writing better than anyone, and she fooled me every contest over at the Bethesda forums, lol. But I have typed my list of who I think wrote each of these, can't wait till the "reveal" to find out if I'm right, lol.

QUOTE(Elisabeth Hollow @ Apr 5 2013, 03:33 PM) I voted :]
Yep, finally made up my mind too QUOTE(Darkness Eternal @ Apr 5 2013, 04:25 AM) So what is the theme for the next one? I want to get a good head start for that one.
Can it be survival? Please let it be survival!
Blimey, you're keen!!! Well, it is the beginning of the month still, and this is what the Colonel suggested (and I think it's a great idea myself) : QUOTE(Colonel Mustard @ Mar 21 2013, 12:27 PM) Apologies for the double post, but an idea has occurred to me for a more regular contest after this; Read in a Rush.
The premise is simple; a monthly contest to write stories of a length between 850 and 1150 words, based on a new theme each month. The actual contest window is open for the first three weeks or so of the month, with people posting up their stories on a contest thread and providing feedback and comments on other people's stories at the same time along with their stories.
In the last week, the contest window closes, and a voting thread is opened; people vote for which story they think should win that month's Read in a Rush contest, a new theme is decided upon (there could well be a running thread for theme suggestions) and the same thing is done the next month with the new theme.
Your thoughts?
What are people's thoughts? Too soon? Raring to go?

How many people are active on the site? Subtract 9 from that, lol. That math is too hard for me to comprehend
