I'm watching Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog with Snuggles wub.gif

That was great. Right up until the ending. Then I was like... blink.gif Why did you ever bother making this?

I'm sure there's a lesson in there somewhere. I think it's somewhere along the lines of "Joss Whedon likes to play with our emotions."

I think the lesson is that if you have a fun comedy don't f**k it up doing stupid s**t like that. I will never waste my time watching it again, and if I had known better, I never would have wasted my time in the first place.

I'm sorry you don't like it. I really enjoy that movie, and watch it often. I don't think there's anything of Whedon's that I don't like, actually. That I've seen.

I believe that it is impossible for me to dislike anything Whedon gets control over at this point. He is like Loki with that staff, but instead of being filled with the power of the Tesseract, I'm filled with enhanced love for the Geek Pantheon and Whedon's status as a high priest thereof, as well as a goodly portion of pure hate for those Abyss-cursed Demon worshipers over at Fox.

I linked to it earlier when Liz and I talked about it. Thought it would be fun if she and Snuggles watched Dr. Snuggles biggrin.gif

I lost my thrill for Whedon back before Buffy was even over. Five minutes into an episode, I could tell exactly what was going to happen, and how it would end. For a while it was only Alyson Hannigan that kept me watching, as I had a monster crush on her. It got to where I would tape the episodes without watching them, then watch only the parts with Alyson Hannigan, and fast forward through the rest. But eventually even she could not keep me watching it, and I just gave up completely.

I can still watch and enjoy some things that Whedon has done, like Alien Resurrection and Avengers. But it is not his writing that draws me, but rather the actors involved, like Sigourny Weaver, Ron Perlman (I will watch just about anything he is in, including movies about mutant monkey monsters), Chris Evans, etc...

I loved it because of the dog. Watching the dog's movements reminded me so much of my german shephard that I paused the movie and hugged the dog next to me.

That's probably the only time I'll admit experiencing emotion to you guys.

That part of the movie really upset me, lol. It's real sad how the only living thing Robert Neville had to talk to, his best friend died by his hands.

Reign of Fire with Christian Bale and Matthew mcconaughey. I have to say Matthhew always plays in romantic comedies and the pretty boy role but in this movie he nailed it as the bald tough guy. Totally reminded me a Nordic character, especially the whole crossbow shot and the axe suicide jump with the dragon. An underrated 2002 flick, but it had its moments.

Yeah it was interesting to see him in a role that was out of his normal spectrum. It was a mediocre film in general but as you say, there were moments when it shined.

I enjoyed Reign Of Fire as well. It is a fun romp, and the idea that dragons eat ash is good one. Like DE said, Matt McConaugyeiey (however it is spelled) really did step outside of his normal comfort zone and played a very convincing military tough guy.
