Exactly, McB. I've never seen someone so...willing to have a job. I mean the guy that walked out doesn't do much. He does the minimum. He won't stay longer, he won't cover for anyone, doesn't even answer his damn phone on his off days. He's rude to the customers, and god, the cashier that was supposed to be coming in, her mom needed SURGERY. Why would you not cover for her? I asked him what he does all day, once. He said "Chill."

Which means nothing. I asked him about hobbies and he said all he does is watch movies with his girlfriend. He's not in school, doesnthave a second job, so its not like he's super busy.

He said he lives with his girlfriend and some roommates. I know he doesn't have a lot of money because he rides a bike to work and wears clothes too large for him.

The only interesting thing about him is that he frequently comes in with black eyes, bloody lip, scratches, and bruises everywhere. And...-ahem- "love marks" on his neck.

So we're not entirely sure about what's uh...going on there. I had told him if he needed a safe place to go, he could tell me and I'd take him in. He said no and now he's being all weird to everyone. I used to be the only person he'd be friendly with and talk to, but now he's starting to make me angry.

He was doing so well for a good month. Coming in early, not leaving stuff scattered. He even got his hours increased as a reward. Then, pbbbth. he stopped. He started acting really weird towards myself and the other assistant manager (who is also female)

She tapped him on the shoulder and asked him how his Easter went. He told her "Don't touch me again. You're making me uncomfortable."

She goes "Alright, I understand." And thought nothing of it. Later, he came back and said "Also, don't ask me personal questions. It's none of your business. And I need to start getting off exactly when I'm supposed to."

Oooooh, that made her mad. No, it's none of her business, but at the same time, she was being nice. She doesn't really care, but she wanted to be nice because he was working on a holiday.

The three of us, the managers, are really friendly, as is the youngest cashier. We joke a ton and try to make work as fun as possible because we are miserable there. None of us like our job, but we work hard to get it done and we try to make the time pass with conversation. We pull pranks on each other and just try to not be so...blah. But apparently that's not cool which Mr. Man, which is FIIIINE. Just, god.

Well, you have to actually WORK too. I haven't been getting a chance to do too much work since we hired a new girl. When she's there, she calls me up for help every two minutes. When she isn't, no one else is there. I'm sure my boss isn't happy with it.

I work the registers, I sweep, mop, pick up trash, stock the aisles, deal with problem customers, straighten up the aisles, and file paperwork.
