QUOTE(McBadgere @ Apr 21 2013, 10:59 PM) QUOTE(treydog @ Apr 21 2013, 10:16 PM) So with looming financial crises and McBadgeres (shudders)- my problems seem petty
... *Stares at comment so as to correctly divine meaning*... It's a compliment Rob, take it!... *Looks over shoulder...Gets poked in eye by mini-pitchfork...*... Damn!!...No, sorry, don't worry, it's not mine...I'm...Erm...Just holding it for a friend...Yes...No, honestly look, it's a compliment... *McBadgere nods and smiles*.... *Continues contentedly*... It's just envy, McB. You ever see a dachshund try to loom? Their paws get caught in the warp (or is it the weft- or woof?) (Hopelessely tangled dachshund wanders off, cursing short legs that make looming a non-starter). But now your basic looming McBadgere- that one will give you pause. Might even make you wish you had gone to be an adventurer, instead of a town guard...

QUOTE(mirocu @ Apr 23 2013, 02:30 PM) On Friday Im gonna apply for work at a place my dad applied to a few years back. He got it but it turned out to be horrible; he only lasted a week! One of the guys running it has a real bad temper (hes got ADD or whatever its called) and the lunchroom had several days old dishes laying around. This is gonna be fun Work is work, eh? In any case I wish you luck. Still trying to find work out here myself. Going to try out at Starbucks again. Maybe Subway too.

Thank you, and all the best of luck to you too The place Im talking about is a chop shop, but a legal one of course Things have changed since my dad was there and I suspect it may be a bit better now. What other jobs have you tried out for?

What other jobs have you tried out for? Tried out one of the Groceries out here, the deli to be specific, but the guy that worked it kept stiffing me instead of just saying, "We're not interested in you." Kept arranging a meeting to talk with him but he'd be gone. Around the time he'd arranged. I'd call, reschedule, same thing. Several times. 'Till finally I catch him while he's there and he "doesn't remember me" despite or contact for like... Two weeks. *Sigh* Also tried the two local rental places. Family Video and Hastings. Hastings is hangs on to it's employees, hard to get in over there. And Family was a mass interview. one of the other thirty got it. And, as I said, I've tried out Subway and Starbucks along with several other eateries and what not. Been cycling through 'em till one says yes.... Edit: Hi mALX, thanks! You are very articulate, so think too about collection agencies. They pay well and are usually ISO 9000 and up (meaning great benefits: vacation/holiday/health & life insurance packages for employees). The work is boring, yes - but the benefit package makes up for that usually. This post has been edited by mALX: Apr 23 2013, 09:27 PM
