Well, we had a bit of a day out yesterday, and since I got me an imgur thingy...I thought I could share it...Just...Y'know...'Cause I can...
 ...Well, we started out in the lovely town of Llangollen, which is by a river...And is very pretty...It also has a very excellent vintage railway thing going on too... (Station) (Locomotive) Well, Llangollen was really nice but small-ish, so then we went to the remains of an Abbey that Henry t'Eighth burnt down in his dissolution of the monasteries tour thing... Valle Crucis 1 Valle Crusis 2 Valle Crusis 3 Valle Crusis 4 Anyways, I could go on for several more of these...So then we headed up over t'mountains for some dinner...And on the way, there's these views... View 1 View 2 View 3 And then...On the insistence of the daughter...We headed for my old childhood stomping ground of Caergwrle castle...Where I played as a youngster... Behold the many pics... Castle 1 Castle 2 Caergwrle Where I used to live (-ish not that one in the centre)... You know when people say "You live in hope?"...Well I did, later on...And here it is... More castle... Another castle... Ach, there's more...We didn't actually finish there...But the others have people on that I'm not allowed to post...(Le shrug...)...But anyways...There's a few more of the abbey and castle...But I think you get the idea...  ...Sorry it's so many, but we really enjoyed yesterday...Damned knackered now though... ... |

Those are some gorgeous pictures, McB!
A few from my holiday: South Tyrol means bilingual (German/Italian) hiking route signage The goods transport cable car thing of the Schlernhaus, with the Rosengarten group in the background (sorry all, I only know the German names for these things...) The Tierser Alpl, where we stayed the third night It was quite snowy this year (if you look closely you can see the path; the black dots are people) The path always looks a lot scarier from a distance, really (alas, the really impossible-looking picture didn't turn out because my camera couldn't handle all the snow) Looking back up at the Grasleitenpass (on the left), which we'd come down from To finish, flowers! Just be glad I'm not my dad, or else there would be five pictures of flowers per picture of mountains. I took an "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" attitude this year and can probably identify around twenty alpine flowers now. The gentians *were* gorgeous, I have to admit! -------------------- |
