I know. Im struggling to not think negatively about myself. I have my whole life. I'm fine though. No point wallowing in the past when I can do so much with my future.

I was once as you are. I was my own biggest critic. I figured out the cycle of self-hatred the hard way.

Respect for others, works in the same way it works towards ourselves. When we do something we would vilify in someone else, that results in less respect for ourselves. I actually can understand this point of view of yours, despite having had a wonderful Stepfather. Mom and I aren't all that close, and biological Father is...an emotional wreck overcompensating for years of regret.

Their choices and actions, reflect themselves...and not you. You look upon their choices and how it affected your life, and believe their actions somehow reflects a lack in yourself. How could it? "You" did not even exist yet. You are the result of your years and experiences.

They did exist, however, and they made that choice, whatever it was, and it may not even have been negative. Perhaps they knew they could not have provided you with the life you deserved. If you don't the answer, why speculate?

My sister says that our parents didn't want is. He's also said they couldn't afford us. I'm not sure what to believe.
