No, I did it to pick up extra hours since he cut my hours down this week. But I ended up working fifteen hours yesterday instead of being off.

Stockpile food is more like it. That way when you have to dig into it you're not instantly out of food.

Tape food under desk cubby's, hide candy bars behind pictures, etc - and tell the children they have to hunt for their meal, whatever they find they can eat!

That sounds fun, but they don't steal my food, lol. I barely have enough food to feed myself, and when they come over, they get hungry at one point. I will end up eating all the food in the house and leaving them nothing, so is prefer they get food instead of me.

Oh yeah, children are growing and need to eat numerous times a day or they'll suffer - seriously. They are growing so fast they'll get malnourished quickly if they don't sustain, and feel hunger like a ravenous termite.

I've been there/done that with my own children a few times when the money wasn't there and they were, you do what you have to that they eat.
