Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! @King Coin, I'm honestly surprised anyone remembers me, because I'll flit in with the occasional offering of updates and then wander off for six months to a year... I do always come back, though! Chorrol is a like a, well, nice and cozy coffee-shop; I'm not a regular, but I do like to pop in every now and then to come in out of the cold.

I had to get up a map to see what you meant by island north of France,that's pretty bad geography from me considering I'm Irish,just beside the UK.

Apparently I will NOT be transferring to the store down the road, which makes leaving so much easier. They took someone else from the store, I'm guessing because I was off of work for four days. Either way, I'm glad. I jsut need to wait for the call to go to orientation and I'm golden.

How bad is it to call in sick twice in the same week for the same thing? I think I caught the stomach bug AGAIN. Either that, or what I ha before wasn't the same bug.

Not being able to feed my son because I can't keep a job down. I'm afraid that if I reach above my head, I'll let everyone who depends on me down and lose my son to CPS because I can't feed him, or clothe him.

Just had a realization.

I felt bad that someone took offense to something relatively minor I said. At the same time, that person assumed the worst of its many implications, and by extension myself.

If I post my personal troubles and tribulations publicly on this forum, it is opening a can of worms. You take the good and the bad. Some; if not many, may offer solace and a kind word. Others may advise to 'toughen up'.

But to take it to the level it was, was disconcerting at first; then as I examined myself and it's contents, I realize, I did nothing wrong. Nor do I feel as though I had a reputation of being offensive to people that would justify such a reaction and interpretation.

Then again this person's situation is not an enviable one, so I don't know.

I'd rather be able to just focus on my creative pursuits, than have to watch every other statement I make because somebody, somewhere will take offense to a misinterpretation.

I hope you don't mean that, Blackie. I know it is tough on these forums because in print others can't see our expressions or tone and get the true drift of what we were saying. Half the time something we mean one way is taken another, light comments are misinterpreted as heavy censure - those kind of things happen on any forum - anywhere you post your thoughts or reactions in writing. I have no doubt I have offended everyone on the internet at least twice per person without ever meaning to, and there were a few times when the reactions almost made me pick up and leave for good.

One of the criteria for these types of misunderstandings is the general age of the population on these sites, another is the diversity of them; their backgrounds/cultures/environments/histories/upbringing.

You can never please or be understood by everyone on the internet, that is a fact. But you can be and are liked for what most of us do understand about you - and that goes for about everyone on here. None of us are fully understood on here, but most of us are liked overall anyway.

It is kind of the best you can get on the internet, a bunch of people that may not always understand everything you say or do, but like you anyway. As far as that goes, this site is better than most others on the internet.

Another reason is that even best friends don't get along perfectly all the time. The one that took offense may not even have meant their response, as you said they were in a bad situation themselves - may not have been in the best frame at the time and snapped out at the nearest leg.

I really hope you don't leave. You are an asset here, well liked, creative, talented - interesting. You don't need to walk on eggshells with anyone, you've been here years voicing your viewpoint and never offended anyone before - I personally really enjoy seeing you spout your thoughts. Please don't go.
