These places get destroyed awful fast by you rowdy people... QUOTE(minque) This is meant to be a place where you can talk about anything without having to stay on topic. Feel free to ask questions, to talk about the things in your life you like to share with your fellow-members. Or just step inside for a while, have a coffe and a good chat! You may feel free to post whatever you like as long as it is within the rules of the forum. But if the conversation degrades to spam, you will be treated as though you are spamming anywhere else on the forum. This is a thread where you can relax and talk about personal things, but it is not to be used as an excuse to make pointless posts. Please help to keep this alive and well and a place where we can meet and share. Enjoy your stay here!!!
QUOTE(Alexander) We had intended the coffee shop to be a nice place where people could talk about their daily activities and such, kinda like the Lurkers Lair on the Official Forums. It didn't quite turn out that way though, people have been taking advantage of their freedoms in here, there has been a lot of spamming and even some flaming. We will not tolerate that any longer. So unfortunately we've had to decide to increase the rules for this thread. Of course the normal forum rules still apply, but we'll elaborate here.: 1. No spamming. We consider double posting and posting posts with only a few words to be spam. If you do that your post will be deleter or moved, do it too often and you might receive a warning for it. We also consider chit-chat spam. This forum has a special chat channel for chatting, you're welcome to go there, and chat with other members or with the staff as we're always there, doing it in here is not allowed. The address to that chatroom is: W4O chat And for assistence to use a chat like this, I recommend looking over this thread: http://chorrol.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=248Or contacting one of the Administrators. 2. No discussion of accounts or warnings. There shall be no more discussion about members, about accounts, about how many warnings you've gotten or anything like that. 3. No trolling. No posting of random nonsense, no posting of irrelevant things, no posting the same thing over and over just to get it noticed, no swearing or flaming. 4. No religion or politics. No discussion about religion or politics is to be had in these threads. If you want to discuss religion or politics, please do make another thread, or if another such thread already exists, please post in it. If you have a question about the rules of the forums, feel free to ask it to either a Global Moderator or an Administrator. If you're unsure if something is fit to post here, it might be. Again best to ask a Global Moderator or Administrator. If you're wondering how we think a Lair or the Coffee Shop should look like, what we do allow, then I recommend taking a look at the Lurkers Lair at the Official Forums.

QUOTE(ImperialSnob @ Jun 24 2013, 11:39 AM) Hey why don't you go to the fan fic section and check out my fan-fic "Eldwin's Challenger"! *awkard smile and thumbs up* *What this post is!*Ok,I'll make it more than a shameless plug. Do any of you listen to music when writing fan fics? I listen to those "Epic Music Compliation"s. I always listen to music when I am writing. Usually it is just the mp3 folder on my computer played on shuffle. But sometimes when I want a specific sort of inspiration, I will put on a certain cd or make a special playlist. For example, when I was writing the Battle of Bruma for the TF I listened to the Gettysburg soundtrack for those fifes and drums and that epic and haunting sound of battle it has. All the time. As Kazaera mentioned, sometimes the music influence the emotions, and in turn, the writing. I listen to specific songs for specific scenes that I am writing. Scenes of sadness, sometimes of triumph, or peace, etc. All of the songs I listen when writing are soundtracks, of music from Two Steps From Hell, Audio Machine, Immediete Music, etc. Depending on the setting of my story and the characters involved, the style of song may vary. My Redguard/Imperial character has Middle Eastern songs tied to him, due to part of his cultural aspect. Types of songs like this one. I'll listen to it when the scene fits the mood. Perhaps a character climbing a high tower he thought he could never accomplish or something. Soundtracks are amazing when writing, and I personally feel a change of experience. And yet I am, and live—like vapours tossed. I long for scenes where man hath never trod A place where woman never smiled or wept There to abide with my Creator, God, And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept, Untroubling and untroubled where I lie The grass below—above the vaulted sky.”

McBadgere, coulda sworn you were going to say it drowned out the voices in your head.
There are days when it's hard to argue with a statement like that... Just to add...My music choices vary between some sort of various pop playlist thing...To some specific album (Moody Blues/Genesis/ELO type)...It really does depend on what I'm doing at the time...But not as a specific aide to writing the type of scene that I'm doing though...

Thanks for the congrats, everyone! I'm excited, and very much looking forward to meeting my new teammates.
And the discount. I can't WAIT for the discount. I get one IMMEDIATELY. No waiting-three-months, and no "Oh, you don't get a discount, but here's a $10 giftcard as your Christmas bonus. To here."
I love not having a job, but at the same time, I'd much rather be making money. I know it would take a whole lot of stress of of my husband's back. Poor guy has been such a trooper, reassuring ME that we'll be okay while picking up extra shifts at work, putting gas in my car... I love him :]

M'aiq would fit a male, but this is "her", so I'd suggest Tsarrina. It's just that bit more obscure, so you get to explain more often.

Galore?... ... As in Pussy- Boots?... As in Puss-in- Aaaamywho... Between last Tuesday and yesterday, we had no phoneline...Therefore no broadband...Apparently the 40 year-old cable that ran down the house had finally corroded, due to water running down the wall unnoticed since the bad snow the other month pulled the gutter slightly away from the boards it's (was) screwed to... Funnily enough, I wasn't all that worried...But it didn't half bring the harpy out of the female contingent of the family..."Oh my GOD no ebay!!/Emails/Forums/Gossip/etc etc I'm sooo boooooored." ...Blimey it was bad... But now, all is well-ish...We're here...We're back...Aren't you all pleased?... ... Don't answer that... ... ...

And since your eave was pulled out and water running down, best check other things too before the damage "surprises" you - window sills especially, but also basement walls, siding, etc. The window sills - it seeps below them and into the between space of the outer and inner wall of your house and rots the wood or turns to mold - look for the damage before it looks for you. Eave leakage is notorious for creating extreme and overwhelmingly expensive and long term damage. (keep that in mind if you have any enemies that you want to ... get even with ... ) Just kidding about the enemies, but not the damage, unfortunately.

Ta for that... ... Yeah, just tell him about the eave being pulled slightly loose - he'll know what to look for. I had an 87 year old Federation house that had a very slightly loose gutter, couldn't even see it looking up, but I did find one long bolt in my garden. About 6 months later I found another long bolt, brought them to my husband and saw his face go sheet white. Well, the sills and walls between were ruined, the wood was mush. Had to rent a backhoe and dig along the front of the house and reseal the foundation wall mortar joints (tearing up my beautiful garden), eventually had to jack the house up 8" off the foundation and redo the whole foundation on that side of the house - it had been leaking a while before that first long bolt was found. By the time I got done paying for all that damage I could have bought a new house in a high end neighborhood.
