Wow! I didn't see anyone not accept the opinion. After all, one need not agree with an opinion to accept it. And the post invited arguement...

(Makes note to self to go back to doing nothing but "How beautiful the spring flowers are- this is the anniversary of my dad's death- otherwise completely noncontroversial" posts.)

I will also note that what I said in the (I believed) lighthearted discussion was simply my skewed take and not in any way designed to belittle or ridicule anyone.

We now return to the fact that on June 25, twenty years ago, I lost my father. And yes- it gets easier to deal with. Also yes- it still hurts and June can be a depressing month for me. However, the day lillies are quite lovely.

25 years is a long time...a touch less than half my life...but it's never too late to say I'm sorry for your loss. It's good to hear that this somber day is easier to deal with 25 years later.

Like T.S.G. said, we can accept your opinion...I don't think anyone said it was an invalid one...They just then added their own to the debate...Isn't that what people are supposed to do no?...

Personally I love both...I have no preference...

I have more affection for the farm dog than I do for my own brother, and it used to be a standing joke that the cat we used to have had decided she was my wife...So much so that when we were first together McWifey used to actually feel jealous when Cat sat on my knee!!...Well, she's a bit odd like that...But still... ...

It's all about personal preference...*Le shrug*...

You've carved out your own Impsnob shaped niche here already, it'd be a shame if you stayed away...Besides, flouncing off is my thing... ...

Even after twenty years I'm sure the loss of him is still felt, you have my deepest sympathies and condolences for that. <3

treydog, That’s me over the holidays when my Gramma passed. I tend to break out the cloves and ginger and say, “It sure smells like Christmas!”

Oh Trey, I meant to ask you if you faired the storm last night okay? I've never seen anything like that one, the lightning was like a strobe light that didn't stop for hours - the storm was NOT moving at all, just hung there. 9000 people out of power all night, ours didn't get on till almost 7 this morning.

Imp, you've been on here just over a month now and always been cheerful and full of fun. This past few days you have been upset, that is very clear by your posts here and on your "Ask Me" thread. Why don't you tell us what is really bothering you instead of attacking? We are all friends here, we'll listen if you talk. (or PM a member if it is something you'd rather keep a private matter).

But, meh, I had my own spazzy ragequit last week too, so I understand where you're coming from. Relax, get the stress out, and we'll be here waiting and as loving as before. The irony of our collective.

@Treydog - June 25th is my Brothers Birthday, so our coincidental dates continue it would seem. I lost my own father 3 years ago in March. I too, miss my Father a great deal. If he was anything like yours, than your dad is a huge part of who you are today, and was one of the finest human beings to walk the earth, the world is poorer without them.
