Acadian and Kiln became mods at the same time awhile ago. I dont think theres any plan of getting more mods here. The forum is too small.

Not very often. I think Kiln and Acadian are the first since the founding of the site. If that is not accurate, then two years at the very least. That's when I showed up.

Not really true either. Being here a while does help, but Acadian hasn't been here the longest by far. Kiln... I'd have to look at his join date, but he might have been here at the beginning.

Being a mod isn't too difficult, you just have to be vigilant. I was a mod on a few sites. They were self-maintained like this one, though, with the occasional bot leaking through.
