Ah yes, from the writer of Twilight comes a story about one of the last genres that have remained untouched by love stories.

Spoilers ahead...

Ever wanted to watch an alien invasion movie where the parasite invades human hosts and takes over their lives? Look no further. Sounds like an interesting premise right? Yeah I also thought so until you find out that the parasite falls in love with the host's boyfriend and tracks down him along with the last pocket of human resistance.

The entire movie is basically about the main character having arguments with the parasite that infested her and lots of petty romantic quarrels. Directing is not good, which is why the movie has horrible scores from various critics and there were not many moments where I thought that the acting was impressive.

Now comes the moment that I acknowledge that this movie just isn't for me or males in general. It is too soft of an alien invasion movie for us and for me it felt like the main thing being invaded was the alien movie genre by the love story genre.

Several females I know enjoyed it though. So it either isn't that bad to women or the women I know just have horrible taste in movies.

I was so bored when I was pregnant, lol. I read all of the Harry Potter books AND the LotR books, the Hobbit, The Silmarillion, and about twenty other books.

I was sooooooooo bored.

I finally got around to watching Firefly, and it's really damn good.

Expect me to post "Hey guys, that Game of Thrones show was pretty neat!" on this thread at sometime around 2025.

Poor Zathras. Zathras have very sad life. Probably have very sad death. But at least there is symmetry...

I watched Miss Congeniality last night too! Though it was via Netflix. I am going to the video store today to look for the Speed movies.

What? Why will it take you so long? Watch it now, I say!

I long for scenes where man hath never trod

There to abide with my Creator, God,

Untroubling and untroubled where I lie
The grass below—above the vaulted sky.”

Game of Thrones is awesome. What makes it great is that the writer is not afraid to kill off characters in very unexpected ways or at unexpected times. I haven't read the books so I never know what to expect. Sometimes the show angers me because they tend to kill off characters without warning but there are so many plots and sub plots going on that the show is always entertaining.

I'm personally watching House at the moment. I love this show despite some somewhat repetitive elements across several seasons it still manages to be a very fun show with interesting characters.

I will it now. I will watch it now in about 13 years. I need to be consistent with these things; Firefly is also an excellent TV show and I watched it 13 years after it was released despite the fact that I spent a great deal of that time on the internet which is, of course, still in love with Firefly. So, for the sake of fairness and consistency, I will have to wait 13 years to watch GoT.

Also, I'm a really lazy TV watcher and get bored and distracted by TV shows and movies very easily, so I'd completely lack the patience to sit through all ten jillionty five seasons of the show that are going to be coming out.

Ralph Fiennes' adaptation of Corialanus. If you ever hear someone complain about Shakespeare being boring, on my behalf I implore to punch them in the face and then sit them down in front of this film. Absolutely bloody amazing adaptation of one of Shakespeare's best plays.

Im finally watching Doctor Who (the ones starting in 2005). Loved the first season. Captain Jack was instantly awesome. I guess that means I should also finally watch Torchwood. Cancel the last of the sleep. smile.gif

I loved Captain Jack and Torchwood. It was a different kind of science fiction show. There wasn't a fist-fight every show. The good guys do not always win. It has a very different feel to shows like Star Trek, Farscape, the Galacticas, etc... Since you are watching Doc Who (yaay! - Lots of places have a North!) you have an idea of what to expect. Remember the Dalek episode from the first Season of the new Dr. Who? That's what every Torchwood episode is like. But where Dr. Who is a pre-Watershed show made with children in mind, Torchwood was a post-Watershed show. So its a lot darker and is definitely not for kids.

I do recommend you just skip the final two seasons of Torchwood though - Children of Earth and Miracle Day. They left a bad taste in many fan's mouths, including mine. McB hates Captain Jack now because of Children of Earth. Where I just blame it on the writers, not the character/John Barrowman.
