The police here in the UK carrying them as they make really good quick-application bandages for knife wounds.

Well, I can't say I've ever tried, but I guarantee I couldn't get one in either of my nostrils, they don't hardly fit where they belong. And they expand when moisture hits them, "...urgh!" POOOOM! RIIIIIP! *insert emergency run to hospital for nose surgery*

I would just be like:

"I'd rather bleed to death."

Yes, knife/gunshot wounds = they will fit and slow the flow enough to save a life. But a nosebleed = someone may need emergency room removal. (I would think).

Tampon for a nosebleed is overkill unless the thing is really bad.
