The government records and stores every single call, text, and email that you send. Google records everything you search for and sells that information to advertising companies who use it to sell you things.
I wouldn't worry about it honestly. It has already been going on since the the tech was created. Any time you connect to the internet, carry a smart phone, or place a call on any phone, it is possible that someone somewhere is listening/tracking you.
Technology is something of a double edged sword. On one hand it makes our lives easier and makes communication as simple as pressing a couple of buttons. On the other hand it is basically a voluntary surrender of all privacy.

QUOTE(Black Hand @ Sep 19 2013, 09:51 PM) Welcome to The desert of the real.
You've been convinced that you cannot live without that small little device in your hands. You have an electronic leash that records your calls, texts, location, Web browsing history and God knows what else.
The truly ironic thing in this twisted little tale?
You paid for it and the monthly service.
Not much different than using your PC at home really.

QUOTE(Elisabeth Hollow @ Sep 19 2013, 03:11 PM) QUOTE(Black Hand @ Sep 19 2013, 04:47 PM) Back when people were using flip phones the FBI could turn it on and listen in whether or not a call was being placed. Id imagine theyre capable of that as well now, yes.
My phone has the front-facing camera. I hope they enjoy the images of me texting while pooping. Yeah, that look of concentration ain't for the convo. SPEW! This is vengeance for the fabric softener comment huh?! Lol.

Yeah, I've done...things in front of the phone camera, and if they're gonna look at me through my phone, they're gonna have to deal with seeing things they might not want too, lol

QUOTE(King Of Beasts @ Sep 19 2013, 03:12 PM) I dunno. I'm afraid of death. I've always been afraid of it. I'd honestly prefer to fight to live than have the human race go extinct.
Individual demise is a certainty species-wide extinction is likely, but not a certainty. Sighs. Warning the.following is a personal belief, and is not meant to be preaching or proselytizing... In my chosen philosophy of Therevada Buddhism, it is taught that we suffer because of ojer attatchments. Death is inevitable, we know this from a young age. Yet, we deny, fear, bargain and do nearly everything to avoid it. All things are impermanent and subject to change. Instead of fearing it, perhaps it is we that need to change our perspective upon things. All reality outside our individual perspective occurs independently of our desire to control it....end of sermon. Resume independent thinking, and thanks for tolerating.
