Well, King of Beasts, not a lot. But work is tiring.

That's a good piece of advice. Sadly, I rarely follow it, lol

Obey

Interestingly enough theyve begun selling t-shirts and whatnot with that word written. Non-subliminal hints and coincidence?

I wouldnt think so.

It's satire. Stupid, not very clever satire that thinks it's much cleverer than it is, but satire nonetheless. I generally want to punch people who wear it and tell them to go read some Voltaire.

That kind of stuff goes deeper than we think, so much in our world affects us strongly subconsciously. When exposed to it enough it puts our mind in a state to which point where if something critical would occur in our society, we are more inclined to do as were told instead of pausing for a second and think for ourselves. Because when we start to do that and question whats going on around us, then we really start to become dangerous for the ones in charge.

Once ones eyes have been opened up, even just a little, one cant ignore whats going on with words like "satire" anymore.

I don't think you get the joke, though I think it's mainly because it's a UK thing; the 'Obey' logo is written in precisely the same font and with the same red background as the sensationalist broadsheet newspapers here in the UK, the joke being 'oh look, broadsheet newspapers support government and interests and are all tools of the Man!' (which is kind of a dumb statement in and of itself because half the time those newspapers have been historically recorded to support one political party or another many, many times, often switching sides). It's the level of insightfulness you get from a 14-year-old who's listened to too much Rage Against the Machine, but that's the joke of it. Mind-blowingly clever, I know.

Congrats. The retainer is something that takes some getting used to I'm told but you will probably hardly notice it after a while.

The "Obey" reference goes back a ways here in the USA and is a reference to the 1988 movie "They Live" in which a man finds a box of sunglasses that allow him to see that aliens have infiltrated the entire country and use subliminal messaging to control people's thoughts.

"Obey" has become a word synonymous with totalitarian control for some and while it is somewhat satirical for the most part it is also used very seriously by those that feel that they're being controlled by the government unjustly.

I feel that the government stepping in and forcing me to pay for health coverage is unfair. This is not "free" healthcare as some have been lead to believe. It is mandatory health care that you have to pay for that the government is forcing onto people.
