The Vikings, the movie that is.

Good film, though I can't help cringing everytime there's a "runecasting"

I loved the part where the English nobleman says they throw people into a pit filled with hungry wolves. Then Ragnar says: "See the English are civilized!" laugh.gif

Still watching Magnum PI. I just started Season Three, and watched two of my favorite episodes in the last few days. First was Did You See The Sunrise?, which had one of the best endings I have ever seen for a tv episode. These days it is probably not that dramatic. But back in 1982 there were no anti-heros on tv, or even tarnished heroes. Good guys had white hats, bad guys had black ones, and there was no room in-between.

The other episode was Flashback. Magnum dream that he is a private eye back in the 30's. The rest of the cast are all there, just in 30's versions. Magnum "dies" in the past, but with the knowledge he needs to crack the case in the present. The cherry on top is the old 30's-style Tigers hat he finds in the Ferarri at the end.

Finally, thanks to Did You See The Sunrise?, I am now watching Stalag 17 for the twelfth time or so. This movie has it all. Comedy, drama, romance... Well maybe not it all. But damn, it is good.

I loved that Flashback one...Properly brilliant episode...

It took a good while before Did You See The Sunrise turned up in the run...From what we gleaned from part 2's "Previously on", they had to edit a few of the Vietnam camp's torture scenes before it could be shown in the mornings...

You'll be catching us up soon!!...We're now on Series 4 and there's a huge difference in tone with it...It's not quite as funny, there's definitely more in the drama department...The "Supporting" characters like Rick and TC have been given more "Chops" in their -centric stories...Rick especially...

The guest stars are still an eye opener...We had a young Shannon Doherty the other day...

I saw what you said about the other Larson/Bellisario series and people turning up...Ernest Borgnine turns up in an episode of series 3...And I already mentioned Whatsit...The Mac replacement who's also in Airwolf...

Today's looks like it's a Christmas episode...The four of them get stranded on an island in Christmas Eve...So that may be fun!!...

To be honest, I'm absolutely sick of tele at the mo...No, I can't give any up, but that doesn't change my getting sick of the damned thing...I mean, look...

Monday - Magnum P.I., Republic of Doyle...My absolute fave programme on tele at the mo...So funny, I loves it b'y!!...Then Toast of London...

Tuesday - Ripper Street, Magnum P.I...

Wednesday - Magnum P.I...And some random DVD episode of something...

Thursday - Top Of The Pops 1978, Magnum and now, this new Dracula thing which I'm not looking forward to...McWife's choice...*Sigh*...

Friday...*Sigh again*...Magnum, Agents of Shield, Person of Interest...My second fave programme at the mo...

Saturday...The American Football Show...Strictly Come Dancing...+ some filmorother...+ some sort of going out-ness...

Sunday...Stuff and nonsense and then the evening is lost to the NFL...Aaaand then we're back around again...

AAARGH!!...

Yes, it's my own fault...Well...Mostly...But still...

Airwolf is epic btw...I loved that...But not series 4...

Ooooh Julia Nickson turns up again briefly in another Magnum episode...In an outfit which Londo would be driven to exclaim "By the Maker, Sinclair!!...Where have you been hiding her, my good and dearrr friend?"...

So...A-Team for you next Subrosa?... tongue.gif biggrin.gif ...

Oh, I had started to watch the Eccleston Dr Whos again recently...But stopped at the one with the Mighty-Jagrafess-of-the-Holy-Hadrojassic-Maxerodenfroe...Never been my fave...Can't seem to get started again...

Today was another milestone episode of Magnum. I just saw the one with Ernest Borgnine playing Mr. White Death, the wrestler on the run from the mob looking for his son. More importantly however, it was the first appearance of Ms. Jones at the Hall of Records, whose boyfriend Ray always calls her on the phone to break up with her whenever Magnum steps up to her booth. I had forgotten all about her, until I saw her name on the plate in the kiosk. Then it all came back to me. That is what I love about this show. All those old fun memories.

You Euros watch American Football? I thought you guys were were all into soccer, erm, Non-American Football that is. I heard that the Lions are supposed to be playing the Atlanta Falcons at Wembly next year though.

After watching that Q&A of John Barrowman at the Phonenix Comic Con I have been tempted to start up the Doc Whos again too. Maybe after Magnum. I was never thrilled with that Jagofest episode either. Especially coming after the first Dalek episode, which was pure brilliance (and really got me hooked on the new show). But it was an episode they had to do in order to set up the end of the season, and the big showdown on the space station. I think the "Are you my mummy?" episode is after that one, which was good. It has Captain Jack after all.

Awesome movie.

I'm watching Burke and Hare. Yes, I'm a Simon Pegg fan.

Today's episode of Magnum PI had a flashback to Vietnam. Magnum was Frodo leader, and he was calling Gandalf on the radio. whitewizardsmile.gif

Safety Not Guaranteed.

It's a movie based on a classified ad in the newspaper seeking a companion for time travel. A group of reporters reads the ad and is sent to check him out. From that point they establish contact with the man and start to record the story for the paper.

Then we learn that he's a bit odd but his story is very interesting and the movie remains funny in a warm way.

It is an excellent (I mean really, surprisingly great) indie film that was different then your average film and was very enjoyable. Seriously, watch it. Best indie film I've seen in so long, it caught me off guard to be honest.

Avengers Assemble, or The Avengers for those of you outside the UK.

I never get tired of watching this film.

They couldn't call it The Avengers in the UK because of another movie(a spy movie).

In that Avengers Sean Connery dresses up as a teddy bear.

It was a really bad film from the 90s based on the old Avengers tv show from the 60s, with Ralph Fiennes and Uma Thurman. Do yourself a favor, and do not watch it.

Come to think of it, that is a pretty lousy reason to watch a film.

Same here.

As with any of the Marvel films, as soon as it comes out on DVD I'm getting it.

This will probably take quite some time.

Just finished watching Dragonheart. Easily one of my all time favourites, and the only film ever made that shows Sean Connery in his true form.
