Just found this over in community discussion over at Bethesda.

Scary stuff.

Scary, yes. Surprise, no. I´m always expecting this kind of stuff. I´m sure they´ll sooner or later phase us over to a Internet 2.0 or something where we can be monitored, controlled and naturally fined/punished a whole lot easier.

Welcome to the next step in the Orwellian Nightmare that is our reality.

No, its not, and I'd like to keep my furry fetish under wraps, thanks.

I don't get it. I'm slow.

And yet I am, and liveā€”like vapours tossed.
I long for scenes where man hath never trod

There to abide with my Creator, God,
And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept,
Untroubling and untroubled where I lie
The grass belowā€”above the vaulted sky.ā€¯

Oh, okay. Now I get it laugh.gif

So I'm watching The Purge. I don't know if any of you have seen it but I'm sure some of you may heard of it. Its a movie about crime-any crime imaginable- being legal for 24 hours. With no penalty.

It made me wonder: how many people would actually engage in such activities? Would any of you go down that road and commit a crime? Of course, you would be in danger of being preyed upon fellow criminals as well. Would any of you risk your own life to commit any crime you desire?

I've seen it. My issue is because of how poor we are, we'd be dead. Dead as a doornail. I'd defend my family, sure but I doubt I'd go out and seek someone to kill or hurt.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see in that situation people banding together into militias to protect their property/family in that situation. After all, if you don't want your stuff messed with then you've got to hold out for one night and after that you're fine.

So, in the interests of not being beaten to death/shot by angry shopkeepers, no, probably not.

???

Three people (including myself) posted before Mirocu this morning?

I think I recall reading something about the Purge, the whole premise seemed more than little ridiculous to me.

*Shrugs*

Yup. I have been on a job this morning biggrin.gif

Just a small one-time thing though. Me and one other guy has set up four Christmas trees outside a gas station. Not the one Kobby works at, though tongue.gif

*Sigh*

Nobody here, no-one to talk to. sad.gif

Very well, then I shall simply talk to myself! wacko.gif

*Splits into two identical Callidus Thorns*

So how are you doing, Callidus?

Not too bad Thorn, you?

The same. You do realize that everyone will think you mad for talking to yourself, right?

But I'm not talking to myself Thorn, I'm talking to you. It's just that you happen to be me. I hardly think a man should be considered insane simply because he is a victim of circumstance. After all, it's not my fault that you just so happen to be me, it's simply what you are.

So you're actually arguning that there is a difference between talking to yourself, and talking to someone else who just happens to be you?

Yes, that's it exactly.

You do know that's insane, right?

And how can you judge me? If you're right and I am in fact you, then you are calling yourself insane because you are talking to yourself!

[censored], I hadn't thought of that. Maybe we'd better call this off, before one or the other of us goes mad.

A good idea Thorn.

I thought I was Callidus?

Oh, who can keep track of it anymore. And besides; if you're me and I'm you, does it really matter which name we call each other?

I suppose you have a point there.

Of course I do, what am I, crazy?

*The two reform into a single Callidus Thorn*

Wow, that was weird

The whole premise of the movie is one of the dumbest I've ever seen. I'm amazed at the number of people like my younger brother that think the plot makes perfect sense.

Yeah, I forgot to add that the premise for the film is absolutely moronic, though it actually does some have some interesting ideas if you're willing to really suspend your disbelief; pity that all the film did with it was make a standard Father-Knows-Best Home Invasion movie from it.
