True, but then you end up with Batman being far smarter than every villain, who are all running round with generic "grunt" henchmen.

Or worse still situations like in Batman Begins, where Razz Al Ghul (or however you spell the guy's name) leaves Batman alive, even though he knows that no-one but Batman could stop him. He goes to Wayne Mansion to eliminate the one obstacle in his path, then decides not to eliminate that one obstacle

But he´s a villain! You can´t reason logically about him. Besides, he´s probably crazy and secretly has a fetish for Batman which is why he couldn´t do it

A problem Iron Man doesn't have to the same extent. At least in the films anyway.

I´ve seen the first two Iron Man movies. Apparently he becomes a crybaby and a whimp in the later ones?

Heh, that's just people overreacting because he doesn't spend the whole film flying round in his suit blowing [censored] up.

After the Avengers, he's having a crisis. Near death does that to a person. He's freaking out over the idea that it's just the suit, not him. And for someone we know to an egotistical narcissist, the thought of him being nothing special is hard for him to handle.

I love the film, because it shows that while he's not really a hero without the suit, he's not useless either.

I think Downey does a great job as Tony Stark in the movies I´ve seen. And I guess a crisis fits well into the Iron Man story.

Wasn´t he dependant on a device in his chest to keep him alive?

Can't disagree, he makes a damn good Tony Stark. And he was due for a crisis. I mean he goes from facing his father's old friend, and then the son of his father's former partner, to the events of The Avengers. That's a hell of a jump for a guy who gets by on gadgets.



Yeah, the electromagnet keeping the micro shrapnel from getting to his heart, powered by a miniaturised Arc reactor.

Yeah, it powered the suit as well, though in Iron Man 3 it seems he's building the suit differently. It appears to have it's own internal power supply, possibly supplemented by the chestpiece, I don't think it's mentioned in detail.
